Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by chris365(m): 8:39pm On Nov 18, 2013
Fighter Pilot: I beg to differ. The question is what have all these African nations attained ever since they gained independence from their colonial masters as compared to their Asians counterparts who also happened to be slaves of the same masters. When Asian and African countries gained independence, visually were all on the same level of development. From early 1960's to date many African countries hardly have anything to show of development other than consistent civil wars, corruption and militancy. Asian countries have since developed beyond recognition and nobody would ever blame colonisation on their part. Pointing fingers on the forgoten history will not help, because colonists never took all the cruide oil and mineral resources with them to Europe and why do we have to continue to blame them for our curses. Greed, averice and selfishness harbored by African leaders is what really drag Africa down in terms of development. An African mental set-up really need an urgent repair, because they suffer inferiority complex themselves when they are in company of europeans. Why is it that Africans always view Europeans as more cleaver than them and as the threat that wants to take advantage of them. Why can't they change their mental set-up a bit and perceive themselves as more superior than Europeans and wherever possible take advantage of them thereof.

Thinking like African in Africa!!!
you failed to understand his post. read them carefully.

and please you people should stop comparing asia to africa. Those asian countries were already countries before they were colonized which Almost no african country was. they speak the same language and trades within Asia cannot be compared to Africa. there are many reasons Asia is better than Africa. China was a country before colonized.

now lets look at africa. how many countries were in Africa before colonization? there were kingdoms and tribes, Almost no countries. Africa is not united(forget the AU ish) intra-African trade is the lowest among regions in the world, you can't compare Asia's relationship with the west to Africa's cos Africa has always been too divided to challenge western manipulations of it's resources.

Nigeria was not in control of it's oil till recently, NNPC only collected taxes from shell and co. who had full control of the industry, same thing is going on in many African countries till date. e.g. all Francophone countries.

south african was favored cos of the white settlers. period

abeg lets go back to the topic.

Rich blacks full there.
No I no dey go there. abi na achievement huh

Last I heard, there more rich whites than blacks and guess who the minority is undecided

That's not the topic anyway. I was talking in reference to the pictures I've been seeing including this which seem to have more whites than blacks in nicer areas.

ROSSIKE: Go and study and learn before typing garbage. South Africa was already a fully developed nation by the 1940s because the colonial rulers did not steal the country blind like they did in the fully black territories like Nigeria, Ghana etc - countries where they exported natural resources and put nothing back for 100 years. In South Africa, some of their gold exports proceeds were reinvested in the country by the rulers. Why? Because there was a white settler community there whom the colonial rulers felt responsible for.. That is why SA is ahead of other African nations today. If the British had re-invested just half of Nigeria's exports back into Nigeria, Nigeria would have been a fully developed nation in 1960 like South Africa. Instead they robbed the nation blind and left us with bush at independence, meaning we had to start from scratch in 1960, which is why we are playing catch up to SA today. Same applies to the other black African nations looted blind by the colonialists.
My thoughts exactly. SA enjoyed a lot of privileges that other African countries were denied. But I still blame our past leaders for adding to the problems.
PoliticsRe: The Richest Square Mile In Africa (pics) by chris365(m): 2:38pm On Nov 18, 2013
Is it just me or are there no rich blacks in SA? I always see whites in rich places in the country.

Anyway, SA became what it is due to the early partnership it had with the west. Trade between them was better during apartheid, they shared full technological knowledge with SA, assisted with infrastructural development, protected SA like a baby with no strings attached. while the same westerners purposely deprived other African countries this privileges till date. Thanks to the rise of China, all these are gradually changing as Africa moves towards China as it has proved to be a better business partner.

African countries are now growing with speed, infrastructures are springing up, middle class is growing etc. But a lot still needs to be done. And guess what, it's all thanks to China's growth and change of balance in power

Good for SA sha but I hate those boars angry

Fighter Pilot: Is South Africa part of Africa?

http://m.csmonitor.com/World/Africa/Africa-Monitor/2013/1114/Is-South-Africa-part-of-Africa-Jacob-Zuma-is-not-always-sure.

Ever since they attained independence from Europe, none of those countries had ever managed to breakthrough and show us what they have achieved.
Unlike you south africans, I don't need an online article to lecture me about geography or culture.

Africa is still where it is today cos the westerners never gave it total independence and withheld every developmental knowledge they were supposed to share. They even use neo-colonial bodies like UN, commonwealth, etc. To bug down every chance Africa had to be better. Why do you think everyone's turning to China?

South Africa is better today cos of the white settlers. Europe, US and almost every white was trading with south Africa in high volumes during the apartheid era, your weapons industry, minning, infrastructure where developed for you by them before the rainbow nation was established. It's not as if south Africans where special. Europe was just protecting it's race and showered you like it's baby. Why do you think They hate Mugabe? Abeg go and educate yourself before you start bringing beer parlor talk here.

Fighter Pilot: Well, sometimes you just wish if there was no country called South Africa. A country with so much little population but major influence on the continent. I understand that if I was in your position, I would have done the same, South Africans have a trend of thinking that SA is not part of Africa and also of referring to other countries on the continent as Africa.
What is your crying about? So it's now a bad thing to pick out you weakness, expose your lies and propaganda of a "rainbow" nation. It's the boars who think SA should not be in Africa cos they're not Africans. Not all south Africans. @augaugust carry on abeg make e dey scratch dem for body more grin this one don already dey misyarn

agaugust: .
since nigerians exposed the fact that south african army G5 and G6 artillery guns have shells of only 39km range in service as confirmed by their own official army, @andrewza has not shown face to mention his 100km range again, @Mike..Za too has kept quiet about his 73km range from which he threatened to wipe out a whole nigerian army by using 46 units of G6 artillery as if he is fighting armed robbers on the streets of cape town cheesy

.
Kudos to you for that one. @andrewza is currently nursing his wounds he sustained from your blow. grin

As for @mike_za, he's working on another Hollywood film to post here.

agaugust: if DENEL wants to sell its soweto made half-french Rooivalk helicopter gunships to the world, M23 rebels is a poor marketing strategy cheesy

let us analyse your Rooivalk helicopter gunship testing in what your soweto republic calls a battle cheesy

your helicopter flew against ground forces that have no single radar to detect incoming enemy aircraft.

also the M23 rebels have no single anti-aircraft missile, not even an old year 1968 SAM-7 one man shoulder carried missile.

then the few rusted 35mm anti-aircraft guns of M23 did not harm the Indian and Ukrainian air force Mi-35 Hind helicopter gunships since over one year those helicopters have been attacking M23 rebels directly at random without ant air defence threat coming up, the air raids by Ukrainian air force few months ago and artillery bombardment by Tanzanian aremy D-30 guns have already cut off the head of M23 rebels before your Rooivalk helicopter flew from soweto to k.ill the already half dead M23 rebels cheesy

mister man, fly that Rooivalk helicopter against Uganda or Eritrea in real battle and let us see if they will not shoot it down in 5 minutes.

Rooivalk helicopter has ZERO battle testing as far as intelligent human beings are concerned. thanks my friend.

.
Well said bros. I told them it's nothing to celebrate cos M23 was already dying before they fley that scrap to DRC. Olodos dem

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by chris365(m): 8:27am On Nov 14, 2013
agaugust: boko haram is facing a powerful push from nigerian military and is boxed into a small corner of borno/yobe states, resulting in a shrinkage of its sphere of influence and stagnation of its intended expansion, they are reducing in numbers due to attrition inflicted by the nigerian army, resulting in a panic recruitment of new islamic mercenary and jihadist fighters from other west african countries like mali, chad, niger republic, etc.

nigeria did all this WITHOUT ANY foreign help, but its still good to have the americans sniff around the globe to find and freeze boko haram's sources of funds.
I don't think there's anything to celebrate about this cos boko haram has no affiliation with US financial institutions. And the US cannot be taken for it's word anymore due to there double standards in fighting terrorism.

They are breeding and funding terrorists in Syria, they did so in Libya, and they are the strongest ally to the biggest sponsors of terrorism in the world (saudi and Qatar) and have started romancing with Iran.

Unless they are ready to dash us weapons (cos I doubt Nigeria will change it's policy in buying from them), then there isn't much this listing will do. I mean al Qaeda is even stronger than ever upon the fact that they remain number one on the list. My opinion anyway.

PS. We did this one alone so we should be proud of our security forces.

You see my guy, we Africans always forget that we are totally different from westerners in every way. From how they value their lives, and the kinds of leadership qualities.

African Governments are killing and purposely making their citizens to suffer from hunger and poverty and you think you staying hungry as a form of protest against the same injustice they purposely commit against us will make them care? Just cos those western governments who value their citizens fell for the same stunt? No way

Look. if it was the defunct SADF, about 30 dead soldiers is enough reason for them to bomb bangui to stone age. They wouldn't be scared of reactions from France. Just like SADF went into Angola with full knowledge they risked going to war with Russia.

SANDF fled from CAR after seleka dared it by brutally killing almost 30 of it's troops and displayed captured equipments for the whole world to see. Is that not enough disappointment?

Mike..ZA:
Stop lying to your self. M23's defeat come as a result of the Kibati battle, where M23 was heavy damaged by the UN FIB(SANDF and TPDF) artillery and mortars. After the SANDF unleashed its famous Recces(note only a platoon is deployed) on them,no M23 commander has been seen public. The M23 held an area advantage they even machine guns 2 or so kilometres away from the SANDF base in Munigi. But we all know what followed a clear 2km sniper shot.

we never said the Nigerian military budget is above SA and you don't know the actual amount. it's always classified cos more funds come from other sources.

zaandrew: The fact that vedioe had partroopers performing a night jump for the first time during the exersize is a indecator that it is not standard among all nigerian paratroopers.
Andrewza you are obviously a confused navy chef grin. where in that video did the reporter say they performed that jump for the first time? what time please?

a quote from the reporter.. "some have acquired mastery in night warfare. these 35 just dropped from a plane with para shoots at about 9pm with ladies among them and none of them looks injured. they joyfully expressed how fulfilled they are serving their fatherland"

does that sound like first timers to you? fact is you've been proven wrong and are looking for another excuse to save you zulu A.SS grin

I would under stand if they lost due to no rwandan aid if the fight was long and drawn out. But it was not. It was over very fast.
err!!! seleka that you ran away from, Liberian and sierra leon rebels, al-shabaab.

rwanda started withdrawing their support for m23 before the intervention brigade fired their first shot. why won't it be over fast when their line of support has been cut. do you understand the principles of war at all?
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by chris365(m): 10:29pm On Nov 06, 2013
zaandrew: I was talking army not navy.

And that vedie made it seem like those people just learned those skills? That seems very strange and very difrent to a SA milltary exersize. In SA they all ready know every thing they doing just now putting it together. Still intristed in the numbers taking part and units.
you are very funny. first it was that the army never had any large scale drill this year and now it's "they seem like they just learned those skills". grin you are confused. grin

Nigerian army training and doctrine is no way the same with SANDF so i don't understand what your comparison is all about. and i was talking about the NAVY and army. Nigerian army amphibious force also takes part in Navy drills.

and for your information, most of the troops that took part in the AFRICAN WINDS were drawn from the army.

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by chris365(m): 9:51pm On Nov 06, 2013
zaandrew: Let me put it this way. When was the last time nigeria had a large scale milltary ecersize with focuses on covenstional war where your Tanks, IFV arty extra could be used?

Next nigeria may not have fought a convesniol war but it has never been at peace.

Last. M23 rag tag rebel force? They a dissplined, well trained, experianced milltary force. They used Tanks, arty, Anti aicraft guns, had standized uniform, held phiyscal terrortory, used radios and were a dangourus threat.
please stop trying to make me laugh grin

Nigeria holds military drills every year and we just upped it this year by involving world military powers.

the only reason M23 was defeated is because it's backers (Uganda and rwanda) backed down due to western and UN pressures. without support, they are just another rag tag rebel group and would be easily defeated. FACT

their previous victory was proof of rwandan army involvement.

i repeat, it's nothing to brag about cos they were choked politically before you sent you scrap to engage them. engage a demoralize force and they are just another target practice..Fact wink
