zaandrew: SA has not been to war 23 years and in 2 months 24 years hence non of our new weapons have been shot at. And I am pround of that fact war should not be celebrated. M23 had heavier wepaons but abbdon most of them during the FARDC attack witch is somthing SA can be proud of. Since many of those solders including senior officers where trained by the SANDF.
Bunch of hypocrites. The other time you south Africans were accusing Nigerian military of not having conventional war experience while Nigeria had never been challenged by any country. Now you want to tell us the use of you roivaak against a rag tag rebel group as something to be proud of because SA has not been to war for 23 yaers. Don't make me laugh.

can m23 be compared as more sophisticated than the then Liberian and Sierra Leon? M23 does not have a standard anti aircraft gun and SA is not the lead in the fight. So bros, it's not something to be proud of yet.

zaandrew: Right wing extrmist groups are just that. Extrmists. Same hase american extmist miltia groups. They not a threat to any one. The boer mag attempted a take over but were foiled. They then spent 10 years on trial.
Believe me all militant groups started like that. As long as the problem that created them is not resolved, they'll keep growing in numbers and desperation.

They may not be able to over your government but you've got a big problem coming and you know it.

zaandrew: The folow on acstion is a diffrent battel. I did not say nigeria is losing the war. Just they lost this battel.

No it was a checkpoint and it failed in it's role since BH got a large force through it.

In the long run nigeria is winning thanks to attrsion. If BH numers were close to that of the JTF this would be a very fiffrent war. BH is should never of gotten this strong but there were faluers.
Are you sure you are a soldier? How many troops are stationed in a checkpoint that a large BH force with anti aircraft guns can not overrun.

They didn't lose any battle, the damaturu attack was repelled and BH payed a huge price for it.

You must be ignorant on this matter to think BH are few in numbers. They even got groups from Mali, Niger, had and Cameroon fighting dor them.

zaandrew: The IRA was never able to lauch full scale raids of this natuer. The fact is regaudlse of the later retalastion nigriai sufferd a out right deaft here.

My qustion is where do you get your infomastion. There is a infomastion blank whole.

Fled? Really? We left has there was no longer a legal mandate to remain behind. We had a training mission with the old regiem the old regiem is gone so the training mission is now no longer in place. Reiforments were flown to ugander and DRC for if a counter attack was authrised. The french did not want a counter attack and they controled the airport. So we left.

When south africa left no one was shooting at them and we left at our own pace.

We all so fought seleka till they proposed a cease fire.
Guy don't make me laugh. IRA was a very big threat to Britain to the extent that the former prime minister with some parliamentarians were almost assassinated. Britain lost close to 1000 soldiers and SAS. If that's not full scale to you I wonder what you understand by insurgency.

Damaturu was peaceful for sometime which made the military relax(though it was an error to believe it was over), they were caught unaware. Now look at the death toll for such a surprise attack. No army barrack was over run, almost 100 insurgents were killed and about 10 soldiers with very little civilian casualty. That's definitely not a lose.

the only mistake was that they lost their guard which allowed BH to launch such attack. it's guerrilla warfare so I don't know what what you expect.

There's an information blank for foreigners not for us Nigerians cos most western journalists sit thousands of miles away to do their reports. Even ENCA correspondents never moved near the north before, so how can you trust their stories to be 100%.

Outside media have never been fare with Nigeria that's why we laugh when you people post those jargons they write.

zaandrew: You guys lost doubel the number of men we lost in CAR and killed a francstion of the numbers and still you go on about it.
yes we've lost soldiers in this war the same way other militaries in stronger countries have lost men in the war against insurgency on their own soil(Britain and russia included), but we are still fightin and reducing their numbers everyday to the extent that bomb attacks have stopped, boko haram have been pushed out of urban areas and now operates in boarder areas unlike when they started. is that not progress to you?

oh, less i forget. you fled from seleka as if SANDF saw the boogeyman grin

Henry120: gringringringrin. Bros, they got only 6 gripen pilots. All there augusta helicopters are grounded, the gripens are in a fridge. Their roviaalk sub-standard helicopter, nobody wants, is still lying in soweto. It would most likely be deployed to DRC when all combat engagements are done with, and serious nations like tanzania have withdrawn their troops. Then the r*tards would come here and claim that the piece of shit saw action in DRC.
actually, the fight is over. Congolese army have taken M23 last stronghold. so once again their roviaak is useless. they were busy painting the scrap when the fighting was intense grin.

just watch as the fake attorney grin will cry "we are still in DRC" as if they led or sponsored the mission grin

South Africa knows the capabilities of almost half of your arsenal,we destroyed/captured large quantities them.......Asking that shows you're stu'pid, you don't understand the complexity of that war. Cuba was supplied with the best or newest soviet of weapons. All they ever needed was troops.
simple yes or no would have sufficed instead of this your tiring blab. shall we also say nations that lost wars are to be feared cos they fought against tanks, fighter jets etc.. ? please grow some sense

you fought a war against an inexperienced army and couldn't make them surrender. how's that an achievement to cry about.

all i've heard you say all these while is "we blew up this and that" instead of we made the inexperienced cuba surrender and retreat to their tiny island. go sleep abeg

you understand the complexity of war failed to acknowledge that Nigeria defeated the chadian military that gaddafi couldn't defeat. we crushed cameroonian military and pushed them away from bakassi, enforced peace on two of the most deadliest civil wars in the world etc..

see as you don make me break my silence sha angry

And in my life time I have never seen

People on the street of Yorubaland criticise all Yoruba leaders and no one beats them unconscious like they do in Iboland

I am sure the same OP would condemn Northerners if they do that to Buhari

Ibos and Hausas are just different sides of the same intolerant coin
True. They are intolerant I know cos I schooled there. Buy it doesn't give me the right to demean any race cos I have friends from almost all the race in this country. And I'm damn sure you have igbo friends as well.

Mind you, the op might just be rumor mongering. Abi you don forget sey na nairaland you dey?

now I believe I'm talking to an ignorant baboon. so how is racism different from what you posted? no wonder undecided

mind you, only a stup1d person will look for typo errors while ignoring the message in a comment. I believe i passed the message correctly. so in your dumb mind you have to spell Yoruba correctly to actually be a Yoruba? this just became comedy. Omo ti ko ni opolo ni ori.

you were so quick to make a foolish and racist comment on a rumor that's not verified. now ask yourself how foolish is that

He is popular in the land of the slaves... You know what they say... In the land of the blind, a one eyed man is usually the king.
though I'm not an igbo man, I think your comment is stup1d and your brain needs to be revamped.

how are the igbos different from the yorubas who follow our selfish and greedy politicians like flies following sh1t? lagos is a mess today cos we don't want to offend tinubu, his puppet fashola and their band of thieves.

once again you are an 1diot who deserves to be fed to the pigs.

That's the thing Nigeria doesn't have that air superiority fighter to counter advanced jets like the SU-30...........The Gripen is the most advanced jet in sub-saharan Africa.......Rooivalk is the most sophisticated attack helicopter sub-saharan Africa.....Oryx helicopter is best helicopter fitted to operate in high temperatures of sub-saharan Africa..............Both Sudan and Ethiopia have old upgraded soviet era jets and helicopters.
Dreamer boy. I thought grippen was a light attack jet. So what makes it better than Egypt and morroco's F-16 jets. Uganda, Sudan and Algeria have more better fighter jets and attack hellicopters than SAAF so stop dreaming.

The day a foreign military starts using your low grade US Apache helicopter copycat, them you can start making noise.

Henry120: The F-7 is an interceptor. It's not a ground attack fighter. That's not to say it cannot carry out ground missions.

The SAAF is not the most advanced airforce in sub-saharan africa. I'd classify sudan and ethiopia above SAAF.
True. But how Israel flew past sudan'sradar and bombed their territory, flew back without being intercepted makes me wonder the air worthiness of their advanced air crafts or efficiency of sudan's air force. Just my opinion sha

Is the Arab league that we are both included with the Egypt and the Sudan, all is Arab league land of brothers. Your Army of Nigeria is still in the Liberia for twenty years and never will go. My hope was that the beating they've been getting from boko-haram would humble them, and get them to admit what the whole world and everybody not blinded by patriotism knows about their useless army. Unfortunately they've sunk deeper and deeper in their delusions and lies.

rka1: How can you say it is failing to curb the massacres. Do you know what an insurgency is? The facts are they have pushed BH away from urban centres, from their camps and strongholds, uncovered loads of armed caches at various locations, killed a lot of their senior leaders, have thousands of their fighters in custody and they are now mostly attacking from Cameroun at soft targets. Show me an army that has achieved this in such a short period of time? I will take this kind of "failure" anytime.

Afghanistan and their NATO allies have not come even close to this. There are still bombs going off in Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Iraq, Russia etc.

Do you think SANDF would be able to handle a crisis like BH? I wouldn't hold my breath.
my brother, even their military couldn't control a less deadly ANC and common poachers. how do you think they can handle a deadlier and more sophisticated boko haram. no mind these keyboard soldiers, na to make noise them sabi
