Symphony007: Rubbish!! Why are'nt kenyans crying about obama not visiting them? Afterall that's his home country..nigerians just like raising smke for nothing. If obama does'nt visit us, it does'nt stop our 7:5% annual growth. It does'nt prevent china from from being our largest trading partner! Infact the u.s is becoming practically insignificant in africa. I'll be more worried about xi xingiping not visiting nigeria than the head of a declining power.
gbam... if i were part of the policy makers, i would advocate a stronger china/Nigeria, Russia/Nigeria ties. which is more beneficial than America and the west. if only our leaders were smart. i still say that the only thing that will make me happy is when Chinese premier will visit Nigeria and sign bilateral and trade deals, like Nigeria and south Africa just did weeks back. not just state visits that some people are crying here as if we haven't had the queen of England here before undecided

mens dept: Why are some of you people becoming so defensive?

The truth is Nigeria is not relevant. The entire country is trying to get visa to go abroad, give birth to kids abroad, import cars and clothes from abroad, do red carpet events like Genevieve Nnaji and co imitating real actors from abroad, go for medical checkup abroad, and so on and so forth. So basically, being a Nigerian citizen is worthless and Obama knows this.
even though am not gonna deny the fact that our so called leaders whether opposition or ruling, have made things bad for us. i don't think that's why he isn't coming. my only beef with Nigerians is they like to make issues out of nothing. Obama rarely visits his allies and they don't blow a fuse. even Kenya where he's from don't bother that he keeps skipping them. i just don't know what is wrong with our mentality in this country.

I now get your problem. You lack intellect but will like to express yourself by just reigning insults and quoting stuff you find on google. Trully Nigeria has leadership problems and we don't need the world to tell us that. It's our country and we ain't got no other. But it shouldn't give you the impression that Nigerians are as shallow as our Leaders. That is what sickens me. And you just proved how intellectually myopic you are. Am done talking to you. Ask yourself shimexxx... Do you have a country? And don't tell me you are british abeg

i guess if you were as educated as you claim, you would understand what i wrote. abi you don't understand english in the afternoon. and please tell me that when this blog changes to literatureland. mumu tongue dude why do you keep showing how myopic your brain is by replying my facts with childish rants? read what i wrote and tell me which is a lie there if truly the British education system is all that.( that's if you are even educated)

okay. class 1. Nigeria and south Africa have started investing in other African countries thereby creating jobs for people like you. evidence with our banks, dangote cement, etc
2. Nigeria is still the key player in west African security and politics. study for facts.
3. Nigeria is the supplier of the gas your government uses to generate 80% of your power( am guessing you are ghanainan
4. our movie and music industry has become an example for the likes of your country to look up to for development.
i can go on but i dont have to school you boy. thats why i said educate yourself and stop following western propaganda. why do you think south Afica and china have decided to close ranks with Nigeria, cos we are the most entrepreneurial nation in Africa( probably why we are so many and their are still so many rich people) out of 170 million people, there are only 30% poor. imagine if we were as few as your country. if you make me vex i go sack our ghanian gardner angry. now my boy tell me one importance of ghana to Africa since obama visited last. please let you arguments be based onfacts and not childish rants

shymexx: That's the problem with most of you; you're just too loud for your own good. So loud, yet so empty. It's a virus, the great Wole Soyinka, described as the "Nigerian Disease."

Anyway, what's there to further exploit in Nigeria, when the same country(America) has Nigeria on its choke-hold? Nigeria serves American interests before its national interests - that shows how much leverage America has in your country.

Your post shows that you don't understand international politics and the dynamics of "allyship" among allies. A state visit is a reassurance that; America is still down for/with you. And America will align with you, in case, you find yourself in troubled-waters/problems you can't solve on your own. The snub basically means; America doesn't want to be associated with Nigeria - despite Nigeria being its most willing-tool/submissive-servant in sub-saharan Africa.

Nigeria to America; is like that chic you smash everyday(behind closed doors), but don't want people to see with you in public. It's just disgraceful, to be honest. sad undecided
mr slaveman, Nigeria has been visited by some of the greatest American presidents back when your country was feeding on American milk aid.(in case you are not Nigerian)last year when Hillary visited South Africa, a south African diplomat said it didn't change anything and some blacks still suffering from mental slavery rebuked her. now i ask what impact has her visit had so far? America will never have African ally if that's what you are thinking his visit will bring. common Kenya that he originates from, he hasn't spoken of the place before except when he was campaigning. Nigeria and obama never had a god relationship not Nigeria and America. just like isreal and obama never had a good relationship and not isreal and America. educate yourself before you start showcasing your ignorance here. Nigeria still remains a big Nation in Africa and South Africa alongside and both countries are trying to show example by investing in other African countries while others are begging for their masters to come and feed them crumps. i guess you'll call isreal, turkey, south korea, japan American puppets since they also pursue American interests withtheirs and even have American military bases staioned on their own territory except isreal. abeg educate yourself and be free from mental slavery. thanks

Freiburger: Wait untill Ghana starts deporting Nigerians in massive numbers, maybe then you can understand the economic significance.
are you serious. ghana that cant even summon the courage to carry on with their policy of deporting Nigerian traders because they know how badly they would be hit if they try it. and please y'all should stop comparing this ghana to Nigeria, it's becoming annoying. until ghana is seen as an important player in African security and politics, then they can start shouting. for all i know it's just another small land trying to come up even if obama sleeps there for 1 year.
PoliticsRe: Obama Skips Nigeria In His Africa Visit by chris365(m): 11:19am On May 21, 2013
Why are y'all breaking a sweat cos obama aint coming to Ngeria? It's only when the chinese and russian presidents will visit Nigeria that i'll be happy cos those guys are ready to do business with you that will bebefit you and them. Unlike the west that will come here and sign rediculous agreements and cheat us of our resources and then pays us little back by calling it aid. Personally i dont see the importance of obamas visit. Just like hilary visited and nothing changed. He's just gonna come and give us one of his wonderful speeches that he's very good at. Abeg make una dey reason well

Freiburger: This simply shows the quality of education given to you by your failed government, It is so poor that you 're finding it difficult to understand the importance of a state visit from the pres of the most influential nation the world.
my guy na you no understand. It's just a state visit. It's not like he's coming to sign any form of agreement to boost trade or ties, it's just for him to come and sweet talk us and convince us that instead of Africa partnering with china, we should not forget them. But thats a battle the west have lost. All the little assistance america has been giving Nigeria from security to all is well paid for by the Nigerian government. Thats why Nigeria doesn't really turn to US for help. It's just our people with their mental slavery that think obama's visit will change anything for us. Or is he better than clinton? Obama wey Americans don tire for na him we dey cry for hia. Na wa for my people o

this guy is a joke undecided you are probably just a kid that feels he knows something because you've seen too many American action films grin whether obsolete Alfa jets or not, they've probably done more damage as any fighter jet has in battle and their performance is awesome. look, you are not a Brit so stop feeling like one. Do you have any idea the kind of loses American army felt from the war in Vietnam to Afghanistan? with all their intelligence and technologies. talking about taking casualties grin you crack me up. okay let me school you kid: of all the countries America and the west have intervened in their crisis, tell me one that they have managed to resolve without committing human rights violations there even with all their techs and training, and tell me which one is living peacefully. yes we suffered loses in Liberia and Sierra Leone but go there and see how Nigeria was able to resolve the crisis their before this westerners came with their media and took all the glory. but till today many writers in those countries still give credit to Nigeria. if you need more lectures we can do this all day. just cause you hate your country(its not like the country send you sef) it doesn't mean you have to bad mouth every effort they make especially at a time like this. you've not even made any valid point from your arguments, it just yabs. and you call your self a military strategist grin. a joke is what you is son. and dude stop diverting from me, reply from other questions i've been asking you. i still keep on telling people in my classes that just cause the west say something is right doesn't mean it is. except for some blacks like you that still suffer from mental slavery. tongue

What's this one blabbing about? undecided

The malian army tried fighting back but they were defeated.

And don't ever compare the surgical operation of the Algerian Special Forces to your crude tactics. The Algerians had to act fast because they didn't want foreign special forces on Algerian soil. The US/French/Brits were considering sending their special forces over.

Stop comparing apples to oranges.

I'm out this time for real - aurevoir and logs off! undecided
and who trained the malian army? you are clearly an uninformed person that only reads blogs to get the latest news. before the Malian army started fighting back, the US advised them to use the strategy of containment while the terrorist where waxing strong and look how it turned out. and are you trying to tell me that killing almost 50 hostages with helicopter gunships just to kill 20 terrorist is justified? you are clearly a novice. mind you Algeria committed a massacre but the world turned a blind eye because the west said it was okay. guy you are just fooling yourself here. better shut up. i pray your country faces this terror situation let me see how you'll open that your dirty mind to type rubbish about your army. we will deal with boko haram without outside help the same way Algeria did and thats final
PoliticsRe: 35 Killed In Raid On Boko-Haram Hideout by chris365(m): 6:30pm On May 18, 2013
shymexx: Yeah, after losing more than a thousand men in Sierra Leone alone and the tons of their helicopters shot down. The same goes for Liberia. In Sudan, they were annihilated by supporter of APC fighters and their camels. In Somalia, they were roasted by Al Shabaab. We all saw how the Kenya army annihilated the same Al Shabaab.

Your military police is just as strong as your army because they basically go through the same training save for a few extras.

Time will tell.

You mean the same army that's already overstretched? You've only got 75,000 people in your army for a country of about 160 million people. grin

You lot are just trying to solve the problem of BH by using the same tactics you used in making them more sophisticated - try something new.

"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them." - Albert Einstein

I'm out! cool
was it only Kenya that fought AL-shabab? those cowards that had to wait for ugandan forces to liberate AL-shabab stronghold in Mogadishu and some other places before they went in with their rusty hardware. i bet you if Uganda pulls out of somalia, Kenyan army will be overwhelmed within days. the war in somalia was already won before those cowards went in. and as usual if the western media is on your side you get to take all the glory. Nigerian army has 130,000 personnel for your info and i can bet you that if your army faces the kind of challenges our army faces, your country would have been another somalia by now. educate yourself son and stop feeding yourself with western propaganda.

shymexx: ^^^^Keep wasting your time with the lousy and weak Nigerian army that takes heavy losses in every confrontation it's involved in. from Sierra Leone, to Liberia, to Sudan, to Somalia, to Niger/Delta, and to BH. Even the OMATSE cult smacked them around like kids.

Any warfare without intelligence gather is basically lost before it started.

It won't be long before BH regroup and appear in another state to unleash terror. undecided
i now take it you are a ghanian or just another novice that wants to show his stupidity. was it not this same strategy the US gave the malian army? and look what happened after they took the advise. i guess you've lost your memory of how Algeria handled the kidnapping of foreign workers on their own territory, i can go on but i don't have time to school you. you say Nigerian army is weak. our Government refused to follow the US strategy cos it has never worked anywhere in the world(I'll be glad if you can tell me one country that have successfully fought terror with US strategy). even when terrorist over ran Mali, it was the same US and UN that said negotiations was the only way until France went in with their toys and so far it worked. my friend don't think that every advise that comes from US and UN is always right. even in Syria they still got it wrong. you clearly know nothing about warfare so I'll advise you to just stay outta this and let us solve our problem. and pray this doesn't happen in your country, trust me you'll clearly run out of ideas. do you know the number of atrocities the so called professional US army commit in their operations till date? come on stop playing to the gallery of this human rights bull. if your country faces the biggest threat to it's stability, it is the duty of your government to do everything in his power to chase them out of the country. educate yourself before you come here and fool yourself. angry
PoliticsRe: 35 Killed In Raid On Boko-Haram Hideout by chris365(m):
Ironi: Nigeria military wants to show off their new toys?

I mean is this the best way to militarily deal with BH?

Using Jet fighters, artillery , gun ships within Nigeria to fight a ragtag insurgents?.

Talk about the civilians who would be killed and the fact that this insurgents would still be standing after all this dumb military display and waste.

They would kill civilians and count them as insurgents. I think Nigeria has just started a civil war.

This is a poor military strategy to use for this kind of operation.

I'm not a military guy but believe me I can give thousand and one strategies to destroy BH without all this military brouhaha. this type of warfare in your backyard is not about the millitary equipments you display.
.

So it was okay for france and america to use drones fighter jets and all sorts to bomb another man's land just to fight these same rag tag militia but not okay for our army to use the same tactics even when our unity is threatened? From your comments you must be a ghanian. My guy ur comment just shows you dont know jack about military strategy and it will be best for you to just keep shut and watch your tv. I Pray these people will flee to your country then i'll see the kind of military strategy you'll give your parade ground army. Idiot

If it was the army i for vex but the police! Abeggi.. Come to lagos and see how they treat unarmed and innocent civilians like animals. They will even kill you for N20. Sorry to say but i hate the police more than the rats in our dust bin. Last year robbers came to my house, before they could enter we called the police till they switched off their phone. We had to open the door so this people wont kill us. The next day police came and asked my father to follow them to the station to give statement. This after they killed our 2 alsatians, took my da's jeep, ransacked the house. Bleep the police if you ask me. They probably went to that village to fight for the governor.or else that corpral will not have a reason to protect his people. Word of advise, dont believe any info given by the police or press conserning this matter. Only the governor and the commissioner of police in that state know what transpired. I pity those porr people.

Dnt say am insulting my elder cos only my father and God are my elders. Abeg make una let us hear word for this matter. i don't remember Nigeria ever having elders anymore these days. what we have are a bunch of old men that have decided to use the people they were supposed to lead as pawns for their selfish ambitions. i remember this old man sympathizing with boko haram because according to them "ORDINARY and MEANINGLESS" are killed by their hundreds every week by these cowards. i have lost a very close friend and so also my cousin to this barbaric people and all this man and the so called northern elders had to say was to give them amnesty. so just because he has been kidnapped i should cry abi? rubish. i lost my respect for him and the likes of tinubu, hell-rufai, buhari and the rest of them when they turned this whole situation to a political battle rather than see this as a threat to the existence of our their great nation. i hope they also feel the pain i felt when i lost those i love too. angry angry angry
