Moses Simon warming the Levante bench as though his life depends on it. I think it's about time he was excused from the national team because I cant see him holding his own on either wing with the plethora of wingers we have doing wonderfully well out there. |

Waiting for OwnGoalNigeria to report tomorrow that Bayern have renewed interest in him and are "monitoring" him.
Repeat after me: ONYEKURU! I wonder why that man likes playing him out of position for inconsistent Gomez(whatever that Cape Verdian's name is) who has been stinking up the whole place |

Dennis Bounaventure has really gotten his mojo back. Dude dun improve wella, was simply unplayable today. Bar injuries and a dip in form, he sure gonna extend Danjuma's stay in the Brugge bench.
I read he might be joining Torino in January though |

Deji on loan to Chemitz is a positive move, he should be seeing regular game time instead of being on the Frankfurt bench every weekend. I really do hope Aigbogun gives him a call when next the Flying Eagles will be gathering. |

Icon4s: Even the Ones in Freetown, it is not likely they of Nigerian origin. Remember Teko Oliseh? He is a Sierra Leonean and has no ties with Nigeria in whatsoever way.
As I said before there are some African words or names from different ethnic groups with same spellings but different pronunciations and meanings.

Icon4s: There is also a Robson-Kanu in the Irish national team. I don't think it has anything to do with the abolished slave trade. Although there are several part of Brazil where we still have enclaves of ex-Nigerian (mostly Yoruba) slaves. But one thing about slave trade, the slaves hardly keep their original native African names as the new owners forced foreign names on them. So u will hardly see a slave lineage that has their original African surname preserved to this mordern time.
That Kanu of Brazil or Sierra Leone are not likely related to Nigerian origin. They most likely do not even have the same meaning. Just different words or meaningd with same pronunciation. I have seen similar words in Igbo and Yoruba with same or similar spellings but completely different meanings. About Robson the Welsh(not Irish) international, he is actually of Nigerian descent. His dad, Rechi Kanu was once a prominent lawyer down here in Nigeria before he left for the UK for pastures new. |

This question goes to the history lovers in here. The name "Kanu" is gradually becoming a household name in Brazil(one Kanu even plays for Kortrij in the Belgian first division) due to Nwankwo's heroics in Atlanta 96, now, what inspired same name in Sierra Leone? I av come across some Kanus from Freetown that I mistook for Nigerians. Does it have anything to do with the defunct slave trade?

komekn: This is complete Balderdash you are getting carried away with prejudice and Negative bias.
The two strikers Odey and Paul are untested and unproven at higher level comparative to Ighalo.
Cam someone remind me how many goals Isaac Success had scored in three seasons in the EPL please and compare that to how many Ighalo scored.
Meanwhile Ighalo is still performing much better than the favoured poster boy KC.
So for now. Ighalo is remains numero 1 no contest. But the tested Ighalo remains unproven both at club level and the national team levels, in other words, he failed the tests woefully. Ighalo is nothing buh a championship tiger and an EPL pvssy cat. His ilks are Dwight Gayle, Ruddy Gestede, Lambert, Tammy Abraham etc. These are tier 2 strikers who only show some flashes in the lower divisions to dim off when the stake is raised a whit higher. The GWG is too big for that. He was a flash in the pan in the Epl, a colossal fiasco, hence he ran away to Asia in the Chinese league. Onuachu, Odey, Osimhen, Eduok all play in better leagues and have all been delivering, they deserve their chances ahead of the so called tested Ighalo that always chokes to death at the tourneys. Ighalo isnt what we need. Stop grasping at straws by making this look like KC versus Ighalo diss, bkus I have never at any time praised KC's profligacies in front of goal, I aint no big fan of his bkus to me, he is too predictable just like Ighalo. My options remain Onuachu, Success, Odey, Osimhen, Maja if he joins an epl team et al |

It will be ultra delusional to expect ineffectual Ighalo to deliver in the AFCON 2019. Like I always say, his showing against Libya is nothing buh a pig with lipsticks who is sure gonna go back to his usual self.
A battering ram like Emenike came from nowhere to carry the Eagles on his shoulders, gave us an Afcon ticket, won the Afcon for us, gave us a world cup ticket and served Osaze, on a platter the decisive goal that took us to the knockout Stages. Today, we are stuck with a certain misfiring guy in Ighalo who has been a mess in all the tourneys he has repped Nigeria, from the youth teams to the senior teams.
These guys would do better, if given the opportunities Ighalo has enjoyed;
Ebby Paul Onuachu Stephen Odey Isaac Success Further down the list, I believe Maja can even hold his own
Ighalo has always proven to be a big embarrassment to the national team at any stage, in tournaments. The earlier we get rid of him, the better. |

It's an opinion, it's not a fact.
Can you tell us how much has Real and Barca, add to that PSG, Man City, Liverpool, Juventus, etc, etc, are bidding for this player. Because that is what would be the evidence of the statement " most sought after teen in world football "
Otherwise it's just hype by local journalists.

gamaliel9: Ok Sir...till i see "Porto confirms Onuachu arrival" U are still missing the point. This discussion is about Simmy's move to Basel not Onuachu's speculated move to Porto. Here is the conversations sequentially; ChrisKels: Simmy Nwankwo to join FC Basel in January to enhance his Afcon chances... Bolowolowo: Great mid tier club. Hopefully the environment will be conducive to his(Simmy's) growth. gamaliel9: What does he really bring to the Super Eagle? He is not that clinical..What is special about him? Bolowolowo: Seeing that he is a Nigerian player and has donned our colors for the world cup, we wish the best for him. His goal crazy stint at Crotone attests to the talents that he possesses. We hope that this move can unlock the potential he has so he can deliver for his club and potentially for country again. Now this is where u started missing the point by mixing up Simmy with Onuachu; gamaliel9: True but when i see the array of Nigerian talents Porto is wasting....i am alarmed really on that yet to be confirmed move to Porto....Portugal is higher than Denmark but Porto...mbanu...i do not know whose policy there is to buy Nigerian players then frustrate them....Agu,Awaziem,Chidera Eze,Irhene,Yahaya,Nwakali....there was even another new entrant...i have forgotten his name sef....Porto buys them and sends them on loan where they perform well bar Nwakali.....then brings them back to be benched....you understand my fear about that Porto move? ChrisKels: Bros no vex oo, did the report read "Onuachu to Porto" or "Simmy Nwankwo to FC Basel"? U mixing it up, scroll back to retrace ur step gamaliel9: Ok Sir...till i see "Porto confirms Onuachu arrival" |
