My thoughts as well.

Don't see why kids need to be naked to act out a script.

I'm almost shedding tears when have we ever had so much depth in these positions?

Even with the 1994 squad after Amunike and Finidi nobody else, ok maybe Tijani Babangida but basically that is it.

ChrisKels:
Some of you have forgotten that Suleiman Sani was signed by RB Leipzig and that it was this summer deal closed earlier (in the winter).

Our options once the season starts are Lookman/Sani/SiMoses and Chuks/Azeez/Zadok

Correct FDI cool

If we call most Nigerian club owners clowns now they will say we're being abusive.

A single individual through investment and consistency will pocket almost N1bn.

Even if it's greed or self preservation why can't NPFL club sides partner with some these mushroom academies to identify and groom talent?

Imagine Enugu Rangers or Kano Pillars cashing out almost every season through transfer fees for talent won't the league be some where by now?

Mujtahida:
Under fifa rules there is a fee that must be paid to the academy. It's statutory. Online reports say over a million dollars is going to Ikon Allah academy

Since the Mikel Obi transfer saga don't think we've seen a Nigerian youngster with so much transfer hype, particular to the EPL.

Pray he surpasses our expectations.

FiveFootNinja:
With all the hype surrounding him, he has all the makings to be the next big thing for us after Osimhen. Hopefully that happens.

Default setting of Tunisian national teams is to qualify for WCs and get knocked out unceremoniously.

Egypt themselves have a disgraceful record. 0 wins in 3 appearances.

Maybe this first one will be the lucky charm they need to break their duck.

Some of it na decision making too.

Send in a one time pass to your forwards no, na to attempt dribble for the highlight reel.

To be fair Chukwueze isn't the worst offender (looking at you M.Simon) but I've seen it one too many times to not conclude it's a style of play issue than him reaching the max of his ability.

You remember that our second goal against Algeria where Osimhen gave a one time pass to Akor? Samu would have definitely attempted to dribble the last defender instead of passing once.

minfelix:
Chukwueze not hitting his highest potential in soccer is not tied to his wing play pattern….its just simply shows that’s the height of his ceiling and limit of him wing play destiny….
I would want Zaddok to grow into the Neymar/Lamine Yamal shape(players that can delete you one on one turn your stomach in and out and mess you up and still deliver beastly crosses and assist aswell as adding beautiful goals to his game
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 11:51am On Jun 06
If I was coaching Zadok and want to suggest players to watch clips of and copy I would promptly point to Finidi, Beckham, Figo, Mahrez, and Di Maria.

A productive winger to me is one who uses his dribbling skills to create that slight space to deliver a cross or shot. A high IQ winger for me is one who is smart enough to know when to cross or shot instantly instead of pointless dribbles that allow defenders time to get into shape.

Zadok is young and still has time to refine his game and avoid Ikedia, Maduaeke, Chukwueze kind of wingers play sets.

Mujtahida:
Thinking about Yohanna
I really don't like all these dribbling wingers who dribble until they reach they eighteen yard before they pass or shoot. They bend their head down and start running like squirrels.

Baba, cross ball na.

They should be taught to cross the ball as in their game should be a mix of both skills. Till date Finidi stands as our best 7. He was an excellent crosser of the ball.

African teams I can almost never wish to do well at international tournaments Ghana (obvious reasons), SA (not because they are good but annoying), Egypt (honestly can't say why), and Morocco (again obvious reasons).

Countries that I cheer for despite us being rivals include Cameroon, Ivory Coast, and sometimes Algeria (if they are not being annoying).

I don't really send Senegal but I don't beef them.

minfelix:
And somehow we dont have any beef against senegal, just that they are gradually crawling into that “giant of Africa” status..

I dont need to wish Egypt and Tunisia badluck…those ones worldcup badluck dey always follow them🤣🤣

Yep, Yar Adua resulted to amnesty when initial military action wasn't working.

I think his more laid back nature plus the political blackmail of the optics of a Northern President bombing Southern minorities made him capitulate and agree to Amnesty.

BlueRayDick:
It was Yar Adua that granted amnesty to Niger Delta Militants in which he called for them to submit their arms and register under the amnesty program. Amnesty began 2009 , 2 years after OBJ exited the scene
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 3:16pm On Jun 05
Not sure if it was FG rather than IOCs paying ransom then to Niger Delta militants.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 6:02pm On Jun 04
I blame Hollywood.

We've always had this vision of James Bond, Rambo, Mission Impossible type security forces or agents swooping in to save the day and kill all the bad guys whereas it's infinitely more complex in real life.

raumdeuter:
That is a textbook and theoretical answer, in real life and real world, people negotiate with terrorists everyday

When Britany Griner was held in Russia for being in possession of a smoke vape to secure her release US had to negotiate with Russia and Russia demanded the release of a brutal arms dealer who has ben responsible for American death, America granted it. released the guy

When the Hamas terrorists captured Israeli party goers, to get them released Hamas demanded the release of all their convicted criminals in Israeli prison, some of these prisoners had killed Israelis and promised to kill more, Yet Israel granted their wish and released them to secure their hostage

The negotiation between Iran which is classified as a terrorist regime by the US will include granting some of Irans request including financial and other things

Imagine if any of these Oriire kids were the Speakers son or nephew, do you think he will negotiate or not?

America that sells the mantra "Don't negotiate with terrorists" do that on a regular basis. I have friends in the US army who have told me how many times they took Dollars in bags to unknown locations to "Shady people" to get things done, Later the govt will come out and tell you it was commando work

Personally I think at the end of the day criticizing religious leaders for government failings (as much as is your right) is misplaced priority.

Is Adeboye, Kumuyi, Mbaka, or the Sultan of Sokoto the President of Nigeria? Are they in charge of the Army or Police?

You might say lending powerful voices might help the situation but how far can powerful voices really go if those in charge don't do the right thing. Michelle Obama held up BBOG placard that year are they all back?

Adeboye has generally always stayed in his lane when dealing with various Presidents over the years. From Obj, to Yar Adua, Goodluck, and Buhari I can't recall Adeboye explicitly addressing them directly on any failing of their government.

You might not agree with his stance which is fair enough but criticizing him for an action which he has consistently displayed since 1999 is over the top.
izzou:
See the Criticism that MorataFC is very shy of posting.

Maybe it's me that don't understand the word "Criticize", or "Ultimatum"

My greatest joy in these is that people are now beginning to ask for more from these religious leaders, and I am happy that even amongst his members, eye don dey clear small small

Akatugba sometimes. This is who he was insulting people over?

Oma and his lack of self awareness on occasion.

What he's criticizing other people over didn't he also do the same with Okoye? Recommending an unknown player with no experience to the national team setup?

It's the way he tries to deflect his hypocrisy by saying it turned out alright. So it makes what he did right?

Nwabali has come clutch for us on many occasions so it's no surprise that we regard him as our number one despite his occasional errors.

Okoye is a good goalkeeper many African countries including close rivals will love to have.

Yes it's ok to criticize especially when it's warranted but let's encourage the young man too.

ThunderFireAgba:
I respect Nwabali after DRC game. The guy was press resistant. Urging players on with the multitude of Congolese fans shouting down on him in that arena?
Una think it's easy? The guy has proved himself time without number! If not because of Moses Simon silly penalty miss..

Against Morocco, time and again!!
If not because of that Chukwueze miss.

Again for another 120mins with Egypt?

He knows his worth that's why he left SA PSL.

This is the crux of the matter.

Onuachu's player profile just doesn't sync well with our tactical setup.

If not for his goal scoring exploits in Turkey I wouldn't really mind if he doesn't get a future invite.

Let's cut Okoye some slack the ball was well struck plus he probably saw it late hence his initial poor positioning.

Definitely! We now play with better fluidity and shape irrespective of the personnel available.

The only little puzzle is finding the right balance among our midfield options to give us maximum dominance in the middle of the park.

Odunayaw:

Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 9:41am On Jun 04
I agree with you 100%.

Onyedika despite his undisputed ability, talent, and experience with the national team still lacks that gravitas to his game.

I saw it too in the last AFCON against Morocco playing with timidity and lack of ginger.

Don't know if it's a confidence issue.

Ndidi that isn't what one would describe as a midfield technician, see how he conducts our midfield play. Contrast that with how Raphael plays especially under pressure.

Onyedika needs to sit up cos Nnadi and Yusuf are at the door while Ebenezer will soon be knocking.

Mujtahida:
Onyedika no be am. It's not skill or footballing abilities. He has those qualities but his energy is too tame for our midfield. He is a better footballer than Frank Onyeka but Onyeka has great energy. If Onyeka is on the pitch, you can feel his energy in your pulse. It's as if he drags you with him as he runs up and down the pitch.

Onyedika on the other hand is like cold sugar less pap. He's just bleh. Alhassan and Nnadi will nick his spot
