Africa is a country!

If the Senegalese FA is highly dependent on the Government for subvention then the matter go long because the country is basically broke at the moment.

However on second thoughts I'm sure FIFA gave each country substantial preparation money so why can't the FA pay the man?

TheSuperNerd:
Soooo Senegal FA owes Pape Thiaw... Wow. The very organised Senegal.

Attack looking like the weakest link.

Very solid midfield with a lot of techies unfortunately like that X factor player required to well at a tournament as huge as the WC.

Predicting a quarterfinal exit for the Oranje.

Dream debut for the Milwall winger.

Took his goals very well. Love his direct and intentional play despite having some ball skills.

Still needs assessing but I'll be lying if I say I'm not excited with what he could potentially bring to the SE.

Like a poster said one time you will watch a player feature just one time in the GWG and you know he's the real deal. Azeez already giving me those vibes.

Let see how he fares against Jamaica who will be tougher opposition.

TheSuperNerd:
Femi Azeez Beloso becomes the First Nigerian player to score a brace on his debut game in 55 yrs.

The last Nigerian national team player to score a debut brace was Mathias Obianika in November 1971 in Nigeria's 4-0 win vs Burkina Faso (Formerly Upper Volta).

Only 5 players in Nigerian football history has scored a debut brace. Femi Azeez is the 5th and 1st since 1971.

Femi Azeez is also the 62nd Nigerian senior National team debut scorer.

The last player to score on his debut for Nigeria was Akor Adams last year vs Lesotho in a WCQs on October 10, 2025 away in Polokwane, SA.

Is my eye deceiving me where is Brahim Diaz?

TheSuperNerd:
This is not Morocco's final WC Squad... but a camp list for Ouahbi to make final selections ahead of the Final WC Squad announcement on May 26.

Hakimi, Bono, En Nesyri, El Aynoaui, Mazraoui, El Khannous and other First XI names and WC Surebets of the Moroccan side are not involved in this camp.

Ayoub Bouaddi is part of the camp and some members of Ouahbi's U20 WC winning team are there. They gonna prove themselves worthy of the Final WC List.

Olapade Adenekan was part of the quarter that won Silver in the 4x100 men at the Barcelona Olympics. They were very impressive with the Ezinwa twins, Chidi Imoh, and the late Oluyemi Kayode making up the team. They were only bested by the Americans who had the legendary Carl Lewis in their ranks.

Was going to comment on this.

Great to see great talents now coming into the scene of Nigerian athletics.

Have been hearing about Ogazi for some time. Looks like the real deal.

You make a good point too about Nathaniel. He's beginning to peak. Was a bit unlucky not to medal at the last world champs.

If the AFN is up and doing I Nigeria realistically getting a medal from the world champs and 2028 Olympics in the 4x400 men and mixed relay.

Don't take your eye of Kanyinsola. He has consistently been running sub 10s and still has room for improvement.

Of we should not forget our star girl Tobi Amusan. Hope she can get back to that form which helped her break the world record in the 110 metres hurdles.

Like with football talent yapa in both local and diaspora but administration is poor.

TheSuperNerd:
Small digress from the beautiful game.

Samuel Ogazi, 20 is now the first ever Naija Athlete to run under 44 seconds in the 400m flat. 43.95seconds... 6th african athlete in history to go under 44s. We have a jewel in this lad coz his time is also now a current world leader for 2026. The Great Innocent Egbunike whose national record stood for years never run under 44secs.

We still have Ezekiel Nathaniel, 22 who was 4th in the Men's 400m Hurdles at the World Championships last year behind legends like Rai Benjamin and Alison Dos Santos but ahead of Norwegian Freak, Karsten Warholm.

Our guys, like our ladies, are not asleep on the athletics front.

He claim say 'Arise O Compatriot' na military government composition.

BlueRayDick:
But no matter how u look at it, sense no dey wetin Tinubu did with the national anthem.

How can he replace a "localized "national anthem with "Nigeria we hail thee" that was composed by a Briton and handed over to us by our colonial masters in 1960?

And he did all that by executive fiat, he didn't even care about public opinion being against it.

This is where Governor Mbah will have to play his politics well and tell the SE people to cast their lot with someone who has a realistic shot in 2039 than a Kwankwaso presidency that doesn't offer them diddyly squat. Obi in 12 years plus time will be late 70s if he still intends to contest.

Yes, many things can change but if someone like Mbah is sharp and super patient I can see a realistic path to the presidency for him.

Personally, I don't rate Kwankwaso again after his poverty voting figures in the North from the 2023 elections.

raumdeuter:
Politics is not as easy as that. Its in this 2027 that 2031 games are starting.

You want APC ticket, then you have to show workings an deliver for the party. A party cannot win based on the votes from one region and you sideline them. Monkey no fit dey work make baboon dey work, You eat what you kill

How each region delivers for the parties will determine who gets what position

E.g If the SS like Rivers AkwaIbom, Delta and Edo deliver massively for APC while SE does not, then the SS leaders will ask for a seat at the table in 2031 and vice versa if SE deliver massively for APC and SS does not

2031 is why Kwankwanso now agreed to deputize Obi hoping that the Obi supporters will replicate and support him in 2031
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 1:02pm On May 14
If the SE can play the long game then 2039 looks like a good bet at least if one goes with the APC option.

A SE politician will most likely be Vice if/when power rotates to the North in 2031.

Governor Mbah is a potential tip for VP in 2031 and who says he can't get the Presidency in 2039. age is on his side too. He's just 50 plus.

Segedinho:
What is the odd dat SE will rule even if he doesn't contest presently or in d futurehuh
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 12:55pm On May 14
I think that is what State police is trying to achieve maybe in a roundabout way.

Arming locals to the teeth who know every nook and crany of the state will serve as a good deterrent.

raumdeuter:
Shebi na wetin I dey talk be this? Once the other side has guns, the attackers suddenly know how to sue for peace, remember human rights, and know how to discuss, but when its one side that has the monopoly of violence, that time they will be deaf

I can tell you if the middle belt guys have the same type of weapons the Fulanis have, they wont be doing anyhow. If Plateau, Benue people also have guns to match them, then you will realiz that the killer bandits are actually "peace loving but mis understood people"

People that said "werrey la fin wo werrey" were not mad. Its madness that cures madness

I was going to jump and pass but I just couldn't allow this sacrilege go unchallenged.

Yeboah better than an African footballer of the year? Better than one of the highest goal scorers in AFCON?

Haba na!

If you're using club resume to judge Yekini I can then argue that Kanu and Ikpeba are better than him too based on the pedigree of clubs they played for.

AndSunGorilla:
In my opinion, Yeboah was better than Yekini, and Yekini was very very good. I can never forget his assist for Siasia against Argentina at the WC, that was some good technical play. And one fantastic move against Zaire (DRC) at the 94 AFCON where the goalie got a red card for bringing him down after an unbelievable move, he used scorpion kick to control a ball and take out the defender marking him.
Yeboah was excellent at Leeds and at Frankfurt.

BlueRayDick:
If na back in the days before VAR, na so dem go rob us then useless rival fans go come talk say we bottle the league.

He's making it sound as if they did some illegal hidden deal. If the allocation didn't follow due process he should take them to court instead of all this playing to the gallery. All this allocation talk just because Wike refused to answer a straight forward question from the Channels correspondent.

Wike said Channels did not buy the land but got it through allocation.

Channels is saying they were allocated the land and paid the necessary fees
