That's my secret wish too. I'm hoping they vex for each other till final day of transfer window. Then hopefully Napoli and Osimhen would borrow sense and calm down to sort things out. Napoli can't be that vindictive to spite themselves and risk Osimhen leaving on a free.

charlesemeka85:
I pray the move to Gala doesn’t work and also for Osimhen to maintain his stand on not moving to Saudi so that Napoli will be forced to reduce his current price or loan him out

Bayern had enough minutes to do damage after PSG got their red cards. A Bayern who were dominant as you claimed shouldn't have had too much stress using their advantage when it counted. Honestly I found it embarrassing for a club of Bayern's caliber conceding a second goal against 9 man PSG.

TheGoodJoe:
You make it look like PSG played with 9 men for 90 minutes.
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by chrisooblog: 8:26pm On Jul 05, 2025
I'm not just talking about today plus no excuses for losing to a 9 man team with a decent enough minutes added on.

TheGoodJoe:
How will you say Kompany is not it? I disagree. Bayern was the better side and it takes extraordinary coaching to out coach Luis Enrique.

Goodness me 9 men PSG still doing it against a very solid Bayern team shocked

These Parisians are giving me Barca of late 2010s invincibility vibes.

*PS* Kompany no be am sha but that's a story for another time.

Seems Arsenal knew of the impending charges and were stalling contract renewal on their part.

Really diabolical of the Arsenal management if true.

Ibime:
He was arrested in July 2022 and has been on bail for 3 years while a detective was cutting and joining evidence against him. From the evidence we saw from his Islamic wife who converted him to Islam, it looked like a money grab

Rape is a crime that is easily proven by DNA evidence, bruising on the victim and text communications. If it's taken 3 years to stitch allegations together, then it's a useless detective wasting taxpayer funds on a nothing burger

Meanwhile the Partey suppose done sign contract since. Now he will be without income, or someone holding a liability when his pay is suspended. At least Benjamin Mendy could hold Man City liable during his case but Partey has no one to hold.

Surprised you don't think it's a great potential move.

Like the previous poster said guaranteed UCL football, better pay, plus I think Spanish football's more cerebral technical play will suit Iwobi than the current overly physical style of the EPL. If Gallagher who I wouldn't call the world's greatest midfielder can thrive in Atletico why not Alex?

TheLoneCitizen:
You actually didn't read what you said.

There's nothing like guaranteed salary.

If he underperforms mildly, he will be shipped to Oviedo by January.

If he needs money, Saudi is better option.

No way Atletico is better than Fulham at 29 even with the trophies.
Especially with a coach who adores him like Marco

Nature abhors a vacuum.
diggz:
The issue is less about having a one-party state and more about the character of the individuals in the current coalition. During Obasanjo’s era, we had people who were willing to suffer politically for the greater good. But today’s opposition is filled with political opportunists. So, while they can form whatever coalition they like, I can assure you it will change nothing.

How can we assess the character of whoever they plan to present when they have consistently shown no grit or integrity, constantly jumping from one party to another? It is one thing to have an opposition but it is far more important to have an opposition with vision, one that holds the incumbent accountable while genuinely fighting for the people.

This herd mentality of trying to unseat the incumbent at all costs, only to settle for the next person who has shown no character, no integrity, no leadership and no clear vision for the country is exactly what has brought us to where we are today. I dare say this is the same mistake that gave us APC, Buhari and eventually Tinubu.

To make matters worse, our current leaders have mastered the divide and conquer strategy. They have split us along religious and ethnic lines and that is why everything feels so broken. Even though there are still young people ready to fight for this country, the real problem is that the few good leaders who genuinely care about the people cannot seem to come together to organise and lead them effectively.

#EndSARS failed due to a lack of leadership and proper organisation. Even the Obidient movement has lost its purpose because of the absence of clear direction. When you deliberately choose to ignore the character of the individuals who have formed this so-called coalition or “gang” as you put it, you are essentially supporting a group of corrupt individuals who are clearly hustling for their own interests at your expense. It is like cutting off your nose to spite your face.

It is no surprise that someone like VeryDarkMan has become a household name. When the right option is not available, people will naturally gravitate toward whoever is speaking up. As they say, when the desired is not available, the available becomes the desired.

To each their own. I can’t tell you or anyone else here who to vote for or which party to support. What I do know is that I won’t be voting for Tinubu and I won’t be voting for this coalition either. Las las, make every man carry him own kettle.

BlueRayDick:
News like this just makes one weak and start questioning what is in this life sef?

It is similar to the news of a couple that died in the gas truck incident at Otedola bridge March this year. The lady who is based abroad had travelled down to Nigeria for her wedding to her hubby who works at Zenith Bank. Few days after their wedding, the very day the guy resumed back to work after his leave; himself and his newly wedded wife were caught in the explosion that led to loss of their lives.

Like I told Warri Southgate when we argued about Tosin last time, He's a nice to have but in my opinion not must have who will turn our defense into the Israeli iron dome.

ChrisKels:
Every two months, this Tosin boy will decide to tease you all, and each time he does that, you guys fall for it.

There is nothing special about that boy, yes he is better than Ogbu but that boy will only be a stop gap at best if he comes now. He is already 27 and can only give us at most 3 years and he would pack up. Well, I will accept him if he comes now because he could temporarily help us to pluck that gap as we groom the proper ballers(Benji and Osuji) that will take his place in a year or two.

Off topic Favour Ofili has switched to represent Turkey. Can't honestly fault her after the repeated sabotage/mishandling of her situation by the AFN and NOC.

It's a real pity that a great talent that many patriotic people worked hard to unearth and groom has been lost due to the callousness, incompetence, and shortsightedness of a few individuals.

It's slightly became personal after Jackson told him to shut up on social media. Yes Mikel has been overly critical in some instances but Nicholas hasn't covered himself in glory too with his erratic performances.

Why is Mikel so hard on Jackson though? Iwobi had a red card similarly at afcon 21 and we would have broken the head of anyone who called it a stupid mistake

A contrite and somber visit turned to a circus show.

Eye service at it's worst.

[quote author=BlueRayDick post=135794758]I just saw video of news central covering the Tinubu's visit. The governor still had school children line by the side of the road to wave and greet the president when he comes 🤦‍♂️

What kind of man is that Ur governor? Doesn't he understand the gravity of what happened? Why is he treating the president's visit like it's some kind of project commissioning visit?

My guy Goodjoe can't believe you wrote the bold with a straight face. Nwakali defend!? control!? where? How? huh

TheGoodJoe:
The term is, do we have a player that fits Kelechi Nwakali's profile. That is a deep lying playmaker that can defend or control the offense from deep.

We do not have someone that fits that role except Kelechi Nwakali. However, there is someone who I feel can cover for the role. That is where the replacement term comes in. I believe Onyedika can cover for that role. Can stand in gap for the likely person who naturally fits the role.

So the replacement is the profile, not in the Super Eagles.

Exactly my point. PBAT can't say he isn't aware of how things have been going down for years in that region. Should have been proactive to not allow things to degenerate to this level.

You might say the situation in Rivers State is different but when he saw that a potential breakdown of law and order would probably affect Crude oil production that would maybe tank the economy he did what in his mind needed to be done to arrest the situation. Something I expected he would have done in Benue since.

raumdeuter:
From my little knowledge of the middle belt, they are a mix, they have villages who are farmers, Christians and natives e.g Jukun, Angas Tiv and they also have villages that are largely herdsmen, moslem, Fulani settlers

A fight will start between village A and village B, will escalate maybe the Angas village is getting the upper hand, the fulani village will reach out to their brothers outside for backup. Those ones will be brought in and on the day of the attacks it's usually the local fulani that will lead the outside well armed Fulanis to the location to cause havoc

The locals are the ones who will know the situation better. To an outsider you can't know the difference between the 2 parties but a local will know

Tinubu was within his right to criticize and anyone doing so is also within his right

Your right is different from the realities of the past 50yrs of consistent killings and those on ground closer to the people should take a lead with the backup of the FG. That is my point
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 5:19pm On Jun 16, 2025
Honestly a region that produced cats like Dimka, Orkar and General Malu have become cowering victims that can't defend themselves?

afrodoc:
Middle Belt that has some of toughest and most militant Nigerians ever has now become slaughter ground.

It is a low down dirty shame.

Both federal and state governments should be ashamed. They have failed those people.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by chrisooblog: 5:15pm On Jun 16, 2025
As much as I understand the complexities and nuances of the situation on ground I won't give PBAT a pass because he's seen the situation happen under the past 2 Presidents which means he should have had a fair idea of how to resolve the situation adopting different tactics.

Tinubu was within his rights when he criticized GEJ for his failings as regards security so anything he's receiving today is fair game until things improve substantially.

raumdeuter:
I see what Tinubu is doing and giving the circumstances, he is doing the best he can, He also needs collaboration of the state governors. What we always do is absolve state governors of any responsibility and everything is FG

The other states that did it heaven did not fall, the Benue Plateau where that is the epicenter are shying away. Its really confusing

Have the Benue people started by asking the CSO of their state why they cant secure themselves instead of waiting for Abuja that has failed them for 40yrs?
