Na Mikel say make Dethigh abi Delap go pull him hammy? But all jokes apart it was really low class of Chelsea to cancel his loan when you obviously don't rate him.
ChrisKels: Jackson go swear for Osimhen, Mikel, Nigeria, Lookman and Chelsea if this deal happens. 😂🤣
I think Benjamin is the future of the SE but I wouldn't want to pressure him with a starting place now.
Between Ekong, Bassey and Awaziem I think they should be able to handle Rwanda and SA.
Yes defense is an issue but if the team can be more efficient in front of goal we should be able to have positive outcomes in the upcoming window.
Fredricks still needs more growth remember this is his first proper season of top level professional football so let's be patient with him to mature more in the game.
Daninya33: Bassey can be erratic in his decision making sometimes. Ekong can also do same sometimes. I have not seen a technical defender in the SE set up for a long time since the late Stephen Keshi. Yobo was also very good in his days. That boy reads the game better than Ekong and Bassey. If he can put up a stellar performance against Jamaica wetin be Rwanda and South Africa. Are they better than Jamaica? Eric Chelle rates him and he might probably start him in both games. Na d outburst of Nigerians make Chelle drop Ebenezer Harcourt. Can you imagine a whole Technical director referring to him as that small boy.. If to say Na AE, Frederick Benjamin won't even make his 32 squad list...
Have you seen Fredrick Benjamin currently playing this season on loan?
If you are good enough then you are old enough.
Nigerians must know this...
If Pele was a Nigerian, he would have gone to his first cup at 29
BankyGee: Hope our coaches dey see where and where dem dey use Iwobi for EPL now?
Last week, he was on the left wing. In today's formation, he's an attacking midfielder. No be when he come Nigeria you go go pair am with Nwabali or Ndidi.
The 1994 set were great footballers but most of them off the pitch haven't advanced the cause of Nigerian football or society other than their immediate family which is fine but don't stink up the joint with your entitlement talk. Other than Kanu from that generation can we really point to anyone else who has done something significant to improve society through sports or otherwise?
Ibime this is a Mass Comm alum hope he softens your stand.
GloriousGbola: started off thinking it was a bare literate clout chasing noisemaker and ended thoroughly impressed
Honestly I rate Oliseh the player but the way he talks sometimes ehn.
Ragingthunder: “You know, in the past, when we spoke about top clubs you watch week-in-week out, you saw Kanu Nwankwo playing in Arsenal. You saw Jay-Jay showing at Paris Saint-Germain. You saw Taribo West doing his thing at Inter Milan or AC Milan eventually.
“Finidi George at Ajax. You saw Babangida at Ajax. I was personally at Borussia Dortmund or at Ajax or Juventus, you make your choice. So we had players that you saw week-in-week-out Champions League playing,” he added.
“Now, we have none. Why is that happening? It's simple, our national team is no longer performing. People buy based on your national team. If you do great at the World Cup, the top clubs buy because that's their barometer,” Oliseh concluded.
With the same 'bad knee' Boniface has spent less time out injured since 2020 compared to Nkunku.
Everybody go dey alright las las.
BankyGee: AC Milan don use Nkunku replace Boniface how Al-Nassr use Duran replace am... Them don forget say na the same knee he use score TWICE against them for UCL last season.
Like I said you keep starting arguments where none exists.
Every single national team whether top level or not has long standing players who as long as they keep performing will be included in the team no matter their age. So I don't where your progressive kinikan kinikan is emanating from.
Don't you ever get tired of this worn-out Fulham argument. Sanusi plays for a top European side that competes regularly in the Champion's League so he has nothing to prove to you. People in Portugal that know football see value in Zaidu no matter the bad belle opinions of some random 'scout'.
Aina is an excellent RB who can do a job on the left why is that a concept giving so much heart palpitations?
Infact believe what you want if it will make you sleep well at night.
komekn: You are being very narrow minded in addition you don't have a progressive mind set.
Top teams don't rely on longevity of player that's mediocrity, but keeping looking for better players to improve the quality of the team.
Zaidu is a low quality player, who had barely played any football for the past two seasons o account of injury 🤕 irrespective of playing in Porto , he is not houd enough.
He is officially 28 and you know the Nigerian dynamics ( football ⚽ age) how long before you see a drop in capacity and ability. You are not being realistic and forward thinking.
3 years ago or thereabouts I said he would not get into the Fulham FC bench when they were in the Championship. Many of your contented furiously with me but not on facts or objectivity.
Fast forward today Fulham current LB is considered one of the best if not best LB in the EPL and you are talking about his league titles which he is not pivotal to that ascdency.
The SE requires a competent top level LB that's technically astute that has consistent quality end of product.
Not holding on to a water carrier that had such poor end product and a liability with his rash challenges.
Honestly you can start argument with yourself in an empty room.
LB is not a major problem at the moment. Zaidu, Agu, Bruno, and even Bassey have creditably filled that role. It's RB that is very porous at the moment. Check the number of goals we have conceded recently and you will see it's mostly through one side of our defense especially when Aina is absent.
Oh and your frequent attempts to put down Sanusi doesn't change the fact that he's an accomplished LB who's a Portuguese league and cup winner with numerous appearances in the UCL.
komekn: To put it simply Zaidu is a water 💦 carrying carpenter that can run fast but not faster than Aina. He is technically very poor and with low level football intelligence.
Aina could play midfield very easily for Nigeria as well as RB and RW he has arguably the best passing range end product in the team.
If we can't find a quality top level technically astute LB then we should let Aina play LB and get someone else to play RB the problem is who though 😔
That's not true. Ronaldinho was dropped because Pep and the Barca management thought he was a potential bad influence on an up-and-coming Messi because of his hard partying lifestyle.
I remember that bad teeth issue from Clarence Seedorf experience with injuries. Don't remember the main gist of it but something around how dental problems affected his ability to heal properly from his injuries.
Infact dental checks have become part and parcel of player's medicals.
Roland17: We no trust anybody. Bad teeth fit develop into another thing. Whenever any player dey go Milan for medical dem now sabi say no be play we dey.
iamoyindamola: I noticed Alonso freeze him out since his accident which was his fault because he was pressing his phone I hope he's saved a lot because like you said clubs won't look his way again, he's not also looking serious again. Jumping from one live to the other
Na the same knee Leverkusen see before they sign am plus is AC Milan sincerely saying they didn't know about his medical/injury history before they showed interest in signing him?
For Boniface he should just take it on the chin stay positive. He's been through and come through worse.
jihday: this is really sad , double ACL injuries is no joke
Aina is great at LB and RB nobody is denying that.
The argument is that it in the context of the same SE he's best suited to operate in the RB position because unlike the LB position there are not many decent backups in the right fullback position. Osayi hasn't really lived up to expectations.
Zaidu yes is technical limited but definitely more than decent. He was there throughout when we got to the final last year and he seems to be back to fitness. Bruno is getting better in the role however the arrival of Felix Agu should bring that needed quality in the LB from what I saw in the Unity Cup.
If injuries happen and we need someone to slot in at LB yes Aina would be my go to guy but in the mean time we need him in the RB position.
komekn: The term natural is ambiguous implying better the way you use it.
Aina has played as left back as well as in the midfield in the EPL for Nottingham forest.
Zaidu ,Bruno, etc maybe natural left footers but Aina is still way better than them even on the left . Below Aina playing left back for Forest against yes, Manchester City.
And you are saying natural position 🤔 incidentally Nuno played Aina as a left back against Manchester City, therefore according to you Nuno is rubbish.
And I'm answering you that whether the Itsekiri culture allows him to be bare headed or not he has made his decision as an adult which he will leave with good or bad.
If there's a consequence the Olu and his family maybe will bear it no doubt no matter our personal opinions so why pull hairs over something we have no control over.
Plus today is not the first time people will make conscious decisions that will go against their tradition or culture.
BlueRayDick: In all of these, u've not answered my question.
Does the Itsekiri tradition allow him to be bare headed or not?
Well he's made his choice as an adult and he will leave with the choices no matter how much we agree or disagree.
Plus culture and tradition evolves. Practices that most if not all cultures swore were sacred are no longer observed.
BlueRayDick: I don't agree with this line of thought.
If his tradition says he should not be bare headed, he should not open his head anywhere even in church.
However, if his tradition allows for him to open his bare head ; then no wahala.
Anybody who wants to obey the pentecostal Christian way of opening bare head should steer clear of being appointed traditional ruler. African traditional religion is the religion which all traditional rulers are expected to observe.
