Congratulations. However that means you will not be or rather should not use said visa for childbirth in the future right?
mamababies:
Hello house and well done, good job done to all who help out with application visas for birth and renewal!! . just to share my transcript @ abuja ;rewind 3yrs ago; i applied for vacation visa(B1\B2) with my kids, which i used for the purpose, then i later used it for birthing, now to renew my visa (b1\b2) for holiday march 2018 via Dropbox, i was asked to schedule a 221g and speak with the VO and my interview goes ( note this guy just kept refusing people while we stood in line) :
VO: hello goodmorning and passports (he was looking at the computer very carefully)
ME: hello and goodmorning
VO: what do i do for a living?
Me: I am an Accounts personnel with *** company
VO: How much do i earn?
ME: I told him the figure monthly ***
VO: what does your husband do and how much does he earn?
ME: I told him where he works and his monthly salary
me: he kept typing, but i suspected he was busy calculating the figures
VO; the last time you visited the states did you have the intent to give birth
Me: yes i did
VO; r you pregnant now?
ME: No
VO: Do you have intention to have a baby there?
ME: No
VO; Can i see receipts of payments made for child birth and also the birth certificate
Me: i gave him my doctor zero balance and receipt of payments, birth certificate for the child; he studied dis carefully and the total was $3,505 for the Doctors fees, i wanted to give him the hospital and baby receipts but he said no , i had a folder which was bulky cos i did now want any if i had known.
VO: i have approved your visa, go pick up.
i had relief written on my face smiley cheesy
i hope this will be of much help, no bank statement or budget sheet was asked for on this trip or my former trip.

I didn’t understand her point either... thought it was just me lipsrsealed

Omodadi2:
I really don't get your point seriously. You mean I must to say here my next plans immediately?and not saying means I'm hiding something? You avoid asking me what particular question?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Christine77: 12:29pm On Feb 12, 2018
So sorry dear, but you have really tried! Clearly in one of your past interviews the VOs noted something on your profile that has led them to keep denying you. However, God might just have other plans for you. Stay strong! Apply to Canada. If all else fails, Nigerian is still not so bad undecided

[quote author=Omodadi2 post=64993150]I was interviewed again today(3rd time)

VO: why are you going to the US
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Canada by Christine77: 9:52am On Feb 10, 2018
Thank you for sharing!

dazzing:
Dear forum contributors, thank you for sharing all your experiences. I have been a silent follower of this thread since July 2017, and I benefited greatly from the forum. I would like to share my own experience so others can benefit and particularly shed some light on areas that may not have been adequately covered in the forum.

First thing is that I read the entire forum discussion from page one until the fifties. I got my visa some years back, I was given till the end of my passport. I have been to Canada before, therefore when I went for birthing it wasn’t my first time in the country. I had an interesting experience as the hospital I registered and went for ANC is not the same hospital I delivered at, as my labour came unexpected in late night. There was a mild snow storm (December weather so expected) so we couldn’t drive to far to my original hospital, I went to the hospital closest to me which was the famous Brampton civic hospital. My original plan was Stevenson memorial in Alliston.

TIP 1: register in a hospital close to your house as anything can happen.

I rang the doctors whose details was shared on this forum and true to what has been mentioned, both Dr Grace and Dr Abou, said they do not take non-OHIP patients anymore. Dr Kayode still does, but I didn’t use him. I also rang the Amma mid-wives services and their fees is CAD 4600. This excludes the hospital fees if you do decide to have a hospital delivery, also I opted not to use them. Below is break down of my expenses:

Epidura – CAD 500
Doctor fees – CAD 2,350 (this is a combo of the doctor fees who did my check ups and the delivery fees on the day)
Hospital fees – Brampton 2600 (i.e. 200 registration, 400 baby, 2000 my hospital day fee) Stevenson 500 (registration fees for non-resident)
Baby check-up CAD 300 – (i.e. 50 for baby doctor fees after delivery, 200 full baby check-up at mother and child clinic, 50 for walk in centre baby check-up a few days after)
Total for the above medical is 6250

Other expenses include several uber trips. I was with a relative so my costs on that was covered I also had a friend who gave me some free ride when opportune, but we did have a CAD 450 bill for uber hospital visit just as an illustration of that particular expense.
Lifelab – CAD 107, tests for myself
TIP: Please do not do any ‘out of your way’ tests in Nigeria, cause it’s so expensive as rubella alone labs in Abuja were telling me between 35 and 45,000 naira.

Documents
Long and short certificate – CAD 35 & 25 respectively
Intl Canada passport – CAD 107 (hubby did go to Abuja consulate to sign a form)
Nigeria ETC – CAD 137 (includes my express post and return envelope cost). I got good service with them; I rang a few times to tell them it was real urgent as I applied for all my documents two weeks before my departure date. It took them two days to process and post back.

TIP 2: Clarification on applying long and short certificate on line.
I wish someone had told me that on the website I should just go ahead and fill out the form and pay the fees as there is no option for payment for expedited service for a new-born. I almost made an error and wasted money, but thankfully that was averted.
Pretty much what every other person has shared is the standard process for birthing in Brampton. I’ll say additional CAD 1000 for other expenses including documentation. It could be more for others, please note I stayed at a relative (so no cost for rent, feeding and Wi-Fi) and I had my phone line, so cost of that CAD 35 x four months (internet on this package was weak so you may have to get a more expensive option if you need solid internet for when you outside). Canada phone set cost CAD 80.

TIP 3: a phone line makes your ‘ubering’ experience easier.
Sorry this post is getting too long, I just wanted to put in as much as I could. I spent almost four months, and I just returned this early February. Also baby won’t get health card, expect resident in country for over 150 days. Best of Luck to other expectant mothers.

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Christine77: 11:47am On Jan 22, 2018
It actually depends on the hospital. I paid 5k for mine. You can make noise n speak to the head of administration. That’s what my friend did n then she got a discount, but it’s not unusual.

okoji:
You don't pay for doctors report. I didn't pay for mine.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Christine77: 1:59pm On Jan 16, 2018
Also call the social security administration number (google is your friend) or find the nearest 1 closest to you or the hospital you gave birth in and find out if they have issued his number. They can give you the number over d phone. If it’s not then you ask what the issue is...

Why do you want to process her Nigerian passport there? It’s more expensive than in Nigeria. You can process ur baby’s American passport without ssn. Then apply for visa on arrival or ETC.

Air France is good. Stopover usually short, food is just dere. Entertainment is good. Adding baby ticket is easy. I will advice after adding baby’s ticket, call a day or two to confirm everything is ok especially if you paid over the fone.
The baby bassinet seats book as you are adding your baby’s ticket.

Omodadi2:
Thanks for this information. This is what I was coming up here to come ask cos I have decided to book my flight in faith.
Please people, what are the pros and construction for airfrance so one can be well prepared in terms of space, travel stop over, adding baby to ticket, food, etc.

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Christine77: 1:34pm On Dec 30, 2017
There is no special seat for pregnant women. It’s d same seat everyone has. Unless ur able to pick that seat where they give mothers with newborn.
For baby’s ticket it’s Easy, just call and add. If you use a card, you may be asked to present the card at check in counter.

Please if u did drop box y did u av to schedule an appointment n den was given ur visas without an interview?

oyibo4real:
This recent denial in dropbox renewal is not funny anymore, we need to sit up and do things the right way. I can still remember my experience during my first Visa application. The agent my hubby was using insisted I should conceal my pregnancy, if not we'll be denied cos our passports were all Virgins. But Based on what I've been reading/hearing on nairaland, I insisted I MUST say the truth, despite the fact that our DS 160 had already been filled for bussiness/tourism purpose. The agent got angry and said we shouldn't blame her if our visas were not granted, infact she practically ''hands off"(cos according to her, my 'i too know' was becoming unbearable, besides she had collected her full agency fee). I continued from where she stopped, and noted all the mistakes she made on our forms. On the day of interview, the moment the VO asked our purpose of travelling, I reported mysef sharperly that we're all going for my birthing/vacation n the VO was SURPRISED cos she never knew I was pregnant. Our visas were granted without drilling of any kind( infact I still believe/know we got it cos of my honesty)

Fast forward to 2nd week of September this year, we did our dropbox renewal, four of us again (myself, hubby, my bro in law of 19 yrs n our 3yr old son) and we were all given without being called for interview of any sort cos I applied for B2 this time.( I filled all the forms myself and also scheduled the appointment without paying any shishi to any agent)

The summary of this my long talk is the need to say the truth at all times. Even if you get denied, there's this joy/satisfaction u feel within you that at least you did your best, you'll be proud n bold to reapply again without fear. Infact i personally would prefer to fill B2 for business/tourism so that it'll be noted in their system that i may still use the visa for medical purpose if the need arises in the future. (Of course i'll explain myself during the interview). The idea of applying twice within 2yrs just to declare another intention that wasn't formerly stated, hmmmm; I can't deal.

I know someone will learn one or two things from this. My 2cents though, #okbye
