NnamdiN: was on a Sunday. I go high with some other "rebels".
I'm a first child, not used to taking orders especially when I know we're "mates" Family house is a training ground,it is also not meant for everybody.first born or no first born, every situation you find yourself actually prepares you for what lies ahead.if by chance, you find yourself under the leadership of your class mate or age mate and he is been a jerk, will you want to throw punches?i was opportuned to serve as the ass.zonal cordinator(mama)of two zones&my zonal cordinator(papa)was by far younger than me.during our leadership training,i was told i had to serve him his meals like i would do my real husband.i had a choice to rebel or learn,i choose the latter and it helped.i learnt submissiveness.but like i earlier said, family house is not for everyone and btw,i am the first born with three stubborn, sweet brothers so been submissive was never part of my growing up. |

babygirlfl: Thank you op for the lovely thread. You put a smile on my face this Sunday morning.
I love staying indoors. Friends and sometimes family would tell me to try and go out a little bit more. My lovely friend would say - you don't meet people while indoors. She was wrong in my case. Love found me at home.
We lived in the same city both in Nigeria and in the UK. My sister was travelling to Nigeria and his sister needed to send a parcel home. His sister gave him the parcel to give me to pass on to my sister. Somehow that parcel took a few hours to drop. Been married a few years now. I also love staying indoors, mine is so bad that i can stay at home without stepping out for weeks!whenever i am having a conversation with my mind, she tells me that gone were those days men came with their fathers to come and pluck that beautiful flower bla bla bla.am glad love found you at home.at least it proves that men still knock on doors to pluck that beautiful flower although i dont intend to wait for mine to knock on my father's door, hoping to meet him halfway.i hope. |

Richy4: I have to be blunt.
I can't believe you want your obituary to be announced so soon at a tender age just to please your mum.
Anyways I know what I am saying might not make sense but make sure you tell your mum where you will be buried. What you will wear and how many cups of rice that should be cooked on that day etc.
Tell her she should be the chief mourner. Because you did not disgrace the family. You were obedient unto death. Gbam!you just read my mind and she should not forget to include the upkeep of the children or child she will bring to this world. That means she has to write her will before she signs her marriage certificate.SMH...Things people do for love |

SenatorJames: Depends on you, note that you will spend more than indigenous masters in tuition, browsing e.t.c also it is not well recognised in Nigeria. I cannot discourage you, but these are some factors you have to consider, and make your decision.
Goodluck. i didnt know it was not well recognised.well, that alone is a discouragement.I will try other options. Thanks |

Pweetymoi1: I have a bachelors degree in Psychology, I would have love to do my masters in clinical psychology but it seems to be theorised in Nigerian unis and also a career in psychology seems not so lucrative in this part of the world. Any suggestions on possible career fields I can enter into for masters other than Psychology? I want a course that is lucrative and the best universities where one can do masters in Nigeria. Your suggestions please... If u still want to stay in the medical field,i will suggest Public health.if you want to digress,Business Adminstration |

Edoblakky: Thanks OP for this insightful piece! I have more than 5 years experience as a mechanical engineer in the oil and gas industry. I'm opting for a masters in my field of experience in a university in Canada. It will cost me around 10Million Naira to run the program for 2 years(tuition, feeding, accommodation and transportation). I chose Canada because there are so many jobs there that require my experience and I also need to sharpen my skills and competences with the masters program. They require a CGPA of 3.0/4 in your last 2 years of Bachelor's. I think you should find out if the school offers scholarship or benefits and if you are qualified.it could help reduce the amount |
