As usual, Nintendo has come out again with a great leap and high tech advancement in the gaming world. What with the high level of integration between controller and console, its so awesome!! That been said, the controller looks so ugly and big as if it will be uncomfortable although funny enough first time handlers says its quite easy and comffy.

Its gonna be an interesting 2012 in the gaming sphere with all the new stuffs coming out but I will rather put my money where my mouth is, SONY. I Will definitely be getting the PS Vita which to me appears to be a handheld made for the future!

I strongly thing our life span has greatly reduced due to all the intake of artificial goods in our time,  The rule of thumb for me is: take them fresh as much as you can!!

I believe guyman02 has given you a good response. The inverter is just an electronic device and with good maintenance can last for as long as possible. Most come with the charging unit inbuilt and this may have issues but once your input is good and steady, it seldom develops issues.

Your deep cycle batteries are the ones that have a lifespan which depends on alot of factors like charge-discharge lifespan, quality, and how you maintain it. If you notice your batteries don't hold much charge like it used to, you may start thinking of getting new ones. Mine are made by Sukam and they are still very OK having used for over 3 yrs now.

I recommended a friend to get the Mopower which I had but I think he got the china version and it didn't go well for him so he later got this. Its an European company and the product is super nice with smart displays for you to be able to actually manage the setup very well. But be advised though that you need to calculate the load you plan putting on it to know exactly how many KVA you are buying just like the first response here said, don't exceed 70% battery capacity of your inverter,  Make you no go aloow shildren plug Iron enter for 500 watt inverter ooo  lol!

Yeah, its that good provided you do your calculations very well and you have to be disciplined in the usage thats the keyword here.
I have used a 1.5KVA inverter for the last 3 years w/out as simply as looking at the device for one day, why? because it simply WORKS!!,  The only way I know there is no powere is when the Ac goes off and the fridge stops humming too. I don't even have a gen set cos my area here in Abuja has relatively 6 hrs of Nepa power daily which is very convenient to charge the unit.  My set up consist of:
1 (one) 1.5 KVA Pure Sine wave Inveter (Make is Mopower, an Indian company) Got it for 75k in 2008
4( four) 100 mah Deep cycle batteries-- Got 2 initially at 25k each and months later added extra 2 at 20k each

Thats the set up and the load on it includes a 32'' LCD TV, A 1000Watt  Home theater (you don't blast it at full volume when using inverter oo! ), A Sony PS3, Fans, Laptops, DSTV, about 4 energy bulbs (Buy original OSRAM bulbs, they are expensive, about 600 for a 10watt but they have lasted 3 yrs now, and still going strong!).
This unit lasts through out the day for me, honestly i can count how many times I have heard it bleep and run totally flat! and that is on occasions when there had been no nepa for about 2 days!!!.

Inverters are quite, eco-friendly, Very Efficient, the light is always better than NEPA cos its gives out a complete 220V,  very very cheap when you consider the long term benefits of it. I mean I must have saved more than 200K in the last 2 years if I was still using my 2.5kva gen, which by the way i have sent to the village!!
I can go on and on about the benefits here men!,  you don't have to rush out to go allthe way to the backyard to pull the Gen when Nepa strikes in the middle of that very interesting program on TV LOL!, Its Fully automatic!

The Only downside i see is the initial investment, but come on, some good gen sets cost much more than that! Plus you can do like i did, start with maybe one battery but it most be deep cycle to fully enjoy it- then you can gently be increasing your battery bank b'coos the more battery you have, the more online time you will get out of your setup.

Thats not quite correct. Your device just having wifi does not qualify it to work with the drifta, you still need an app for the iphone or a software to be installed on your PC for it to work. DSTV do not have this app yet for the android devices so they are not supported even for the Nokia and black berry fones with wifi, it won't work.

You have to get an IOS enabled device to use the drifta (Ipod, iphone and Ipad) or better still get one of the DVB-H compactible nokia phones and use it w/out the drifta.

Depending on your location, the prizes may differ so why dong you go out to the shops and find out the prize for the HDDs yourself. Just tell them you need a 2.5'' Laptop HDD. The higher the size you can get the better for you.

U guys dont know what ure talking about, why wuld u think that a fat ps3 is better than the slim?? have u guys ever heard about the dreaded "Yellow Led Of Death" which is a fault thats mostly due to the ps3 overheating (the RSX & Cell Processor chips), this is an issue most fat ps3 users worldwide including me have experienced.
Fat PS3s consumes more power, generates more heat, noisy fan at times, and weight feels like a bag of cement when u carry it, asides from the glossy case finish, touch sensitive buttons & maybe vertical postioning i dont see nothing else special with the fat.
The slim is much better in design, lighter, consumes less power supply, generates less heat, has a super silent fan and is less likely to get a ylod.
Obviously the slim ps3 is a newer technology so what dyu expect? sony definitely have had to correct most faults the fat ps3 had.
The only users that can really say the enjoyed using fat are the ones that were lucky to get the more durable launch models which had 4usb ports+card reader slots, easy wi-fi and Backwards Compatibility, asides that nothing else, i dont even need the backward compatibility cos i still have my ps2 slim good and ever ready to play at any time.
Y'all may not know this too maybe cos u dont need or use the feature: Slim Ps3 also came with an extra added feature of supporting Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD, DTS HD Hi-Res Audio, & DTS-HD Master Audio which is outputted when u use hdmi cable connection for audio output for your blu-ray movie playback & Game audio, this gives you the most original sound/mindblowing sound effect experience , (these are latest digital sound techcnology codecs capabilities) all which the fat PS3s dont have, so what are u telling me?
I bought a 40gb fat ps3 in 2008, i took very good care of it (still looks very brand new right now), played it less cos there was never really much free time for me, at the end it Yloded around late 2010 and i can even count the few numbers of games id played on it so far. i spent thousands of bucks tryin to fix the ylod all to no avail, and fyi repairing the ylod fault is a temporary solution as it comes back again, so ure left with no choice other than to sell the console and buy somtn else.
I still have my fat ps3 sleepin in its package right now and ive gone ahead to buy a slim 320gb move bundle, which we know doesnt have the glossy finish, cant stand on its side, and just simple touch buttons, but abegii forget all the glossy whatever, i just need somtn tht works fyne.
So as it is PS3 slim is alot cooler than u can imagine, jorrr oo.

Guy, the OP is actually talking about looks and his opinion is shared with alot of users. You derailed in most of your ranting (just like your other post about the effect of PS3 JB in 9ja ). The points I bolded isnt much of a point cos its quite true the HDMI chip on previous generations of the PS3 didn't support bitstream output of the new(ish) high def codecs like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA. As such, the PS3 had to decode it internally before sending it over to your receiver via LPCM. A process that could garble the lossless audio depending on your setup. Even though the vast majority of people will never notice the difference (or even care)!

The ps3 does not need a step-down transformer to work, it automatically switches to the voltage you feed it, therefore its universal. Bottom line, it will work in nigeria irrespective of where where ever you buy it from.

Anyways, I finally mustered the interest to play around with my ps3 (its the original 60GB with all 'em 4 usb, sd card model with the Emotion engine chip for full hardware backward comparabilities) so for that, i have been skeptical about getting all the available updates that Sony is constantly throwing up! so that left me running V3.15 for so long

I just finally Jailbroke the machine with CFW 3.55 (don't need any Ipod or Android phone to do this anymore) and I am playing my backed up copy of FIFA10 & GTA 4 from my 1TB external HDD.  I think its qquite awesome to be able to do this and i am sure the development still continues.

BTW: I really do not support not buying games anymore for the ps3 simply because of this exploit, I so much love the efforts Sony initially put in manufacturing the PS3 which i believe has changed the world of console gaming from a thing for kids to a full featured Home entertainment machine that I would always support it by buying games.

my earlier post was for you to discard the 9000 Naira decoder because from the look of things it will be very useless come next year since it is mpeg2 and NBC has said that all transmission from next year will be Mpeg4.and that DSTV will only make more money from you by asking you to buy the HD decoder outrightly or ask you to return the Mpeg2 with a little moneyin exchange for the HD decoder

Yes the 4900 and 4910 are cheaper but the fact remains that DSTV has married their cards to their boxes so merely getting the card alone may not be an advisable thing to do.
