andrew444:I still see him as a bright fullback with potentials. I dont know for u though. If Barkley can try his luck at Chelsea, why not Chillwell who is by the way better footballer. |
andrew444:lol,u come off as cunny AF! Did the other guy insist or mention anyone being better than anyone? Perhaps u can read his writeup. I mentioned Chillwell as one of their bright talent. Never implied he was better than anyone so dont force words outa my mouth. |
andrew444:You must be a very sentimental person. You just started reeling out our young players names as if they are basically in our first 11. Aside from Man city Chelsea has the best midfield in EPL Kante,Jorginho,Kovasic,Rueben loftus Check,Mount( who by the way has been a revelation so far and has 3 goals to his name already). The only players that can try would probably be Madison,Ben Chillwell and Vardy. Chelsea are unfortunate to have lots of unfit players but that doesn't mean that Leicester has a better team and you saying otherwise is just being sentimental. Sorry I wouldn't want to derail this thread. I rest my case. |
andrew444:Please elucidate cause I dont get the word "MANY". Do you mean Leicester city has better players than Chelsea? |
safarigirl:LOL! Everybody get wetyn dey worry am As u don pick your hustle. Lol! |
timay:You are talking about politics and i'm talking about football( two different things). |
Earthquake1:Abraham and Tomori are too small to unsettle the most populous black nation in the world with an abundance of talents yet to be harnessed. For all I know, they are just young and are not yet established footballers. It may even turn out to be a case of one season wonder, who knows. We shouldn't be in a position to beg any one if things are working right over here anyways. |
Earthquake1:From the writeup I read, some people made such insinuations. What i'm implying is that upbringing helps in making those kids raised abroad have stronger connection with their roots. Some of these kids don't feel like Nigerians and doesn't want to be associated with the country eg Dele Ali, Barkley etc. So they dont even have that option. How are u sure they have Nigerian passport to start with? That someone represents a foreign country doesn't make him less Nigerian. It has to do with the mindset. I used Antony Joshua as an example. I ones watched a tv documentary of Serge Gnabry discuss about his Ivorian root and how he supports local kids in his little way. |
chidiebereuzoma:Mount can play anywhere in the attack. U mean these players dont have attacking threats? U can talk about goals coming from midfield not attacking threat. For me midfield is the fulcrum of every team so I will choose those trio any day. Kova is just phenomenal and one of those that keeps our midfield tic with his passes, runs and tackles, dont let his lack of goals make u think otherwise. He is a top midfielder and a workaholic. Mount is a wonderful talent, but I would prefer he plays in the wings while Kova plays alongside Jorg. RLC brings different talent and dynamics to the team as he equally has a great eye for goals but he is not a workaholic like the trio. |
For me,to say that someone is not a Nigerian because he/she was born and raised abroad is nonsensical and also a myopic view. I think parents has a big role to play in shaping the mindsets of these young chaps by imbibing their culture in them early enough. I believe that a kid brought up in foreign land with a grounded knowledge about his/ her roots will always associate himself/herself with their country of origin(not necessarily represent them). Take Antony Joshua as an example. I have also seen kids that were raised abroad speak their native language perfectly. As for not having alot of young homegrown lads coming through the ranks when we have talented kids littered in the country, the NFF and underaged coaches are to blame for that. They are too lazy to scout for talents hence they resort to a quick fix by allowing overaged players fill those slots. The sports sector is not different from other sectors where bribery, diversion of funds and all sorts of corruption are noticed in a shameful and alarming way. My point is,I dont blame anybody for choosing not to represent Nigeria,it is their choice which has to be respected. Some will also prefer to represent us regardless. For me everyone is needed as far as the talent is there regardless of where the individual is raised. The team benefits from it as there will be healthy competition amongst players. |
Jorg has always been a captain material so i'm not surprised. He is one of the leaders in the team on and off the pitch and he learnt to speak English in a fast and amazing way. Gimme some Kova=Jorg=kante( Orgasmic midfield trio) |
komekn:I dont need to convince you to drive my point home. I have seen the both play and I prefer Osimhen to Tammy. The former is stronger, faster and more composed one on one with an opposing goalkeeper. And those are great attributes of a good goal poacher. |
I'm a Chelsea fan but to be honest, Osimehen is better than Tammy. I dont get it why folks here are disturbing themselves about him and should he get 10 caps for England,he brought it upon himself cuz he saw the signs when he was racially abused recently. As for Tomori, I just pity him cuz he is not built like a CB though makes that up with his pace and awareness but ones someone who is taller comes up,he is gone. What i'm saying in essence is that they may not last long with the three lions but I wish them the best. Agbolahor and Ibe comes to mind. |
To start with, i'm not going to tell a man whom to date or marry. But it must be said that most black players prefer to date white women to suit the kind of life style they live( perhaps for show offs). And most of these girls they date have certain characteristics in common( most are models). Obviously such girls dont stick by their sides when the going gets tough. Haven said that, inferiority complex isnt specific to a particular race as white ladies do all sorts to look like black ladies and vice versa. For me dating a white girl is not a leeway to having a good or happy relationship as some are also big time leeches. S/O to Raheem Sterling for sticking to his childhood sweetheart. Nothing beats real love. |
vic17:Most of the players you mentioned are originally from central America with the exception of Ali. Ali's case is that his mum is a british so there is that connection with them. The thing is that most African players hardly stay long with their national team. Ones u have a little dip in form,u will be passed on. Fashanu,Agbolahor,Ibe etc. Those who are lucky to escape it are now playing for their country of origin. eg Berahino, Zaha,Iwobi,Aina,Ameobi etc |
Happyguy201:Oh my heart just sank. Lets be hopeful that he will survive it. Have been calling without response and was just about to type a message to him when I saw this post. |
Please did anyone succeed in speaking with Emmanuel? I have been calling the number that was shared here without response. |
Danycrusoe:You have a point though. I have always said that instead of having local coaches,we would be better of with Rohr. I mean we all know how technically unsound Rohr is but he is still better than our local coaches. Our team is now more competitive and our players are now playing for good clubs in Europe. As for those clamoring for local players to be invited, some of us have this sentimental way of reasoning. Big countries invite players performing at the top level for national team selection. For instance, no English coach will invite a Championship player for national duties. Countries like Brazil,Argentina,Poland,Ukraine, Crotia etc will invite some players who play in their league but only if u are a top top player. And mind u that their league is more developed than ours. Same goes for other top countries. |
Holywizard:I kind of understand ur plight cuz I have been in that shoe. Dont mind those saying that cuz your mum helped him,he doesnt owe u guys any favour. My take is, what could have been his faith had ur mum not helped him? Perhaps someone else would have helped? As someone who is appreciative,I would never forget anyone that helped me in life. My advice for u is that u shouldn't hope on anyone for ur survival. Pray and hustle and I believe God will bless u beyond u ever imagined In my own case,my dad trained all his siblings but they turned against him, some even went diabolic against him but his consolation is that what he lacked in wealth he gained in wife and children. Till now i'm still marvelled at how God has changed my life and He has continued to do so. I also had a roomate when I was in school who had 2 uncles in US but non would want to help cuz they believed that he would come out and become better than them and their sons...lol! There is one Igbo adage that says that u can never block the sun from shinning. MMADU ABURO CHUKWU! |
This is very hard to pick but I will go for Xavi Hernandez. I'm a Chelsea fan but I rate Xavi that high. He and Iniesta were the soul of Barca. Xabi Alonso deserve to be amongst them too. He was phenomenal in his playing days. |
andrew444:Anyways, lets watch and see. I'm just furious with Lampard for making Barkley the PK taker when we have Jorginho and the rest. Honestly his naivety is costing us big time in matches. |
andrew444:Too early to predict. As always there is that luck factor in football and Valencia happened to be on the lucky side today cuz they trailed for the majority of the game plus Chelsea missed a penalty. |
MelesZenawi:Lol! U are damm looking for troubles. Same here cuz some ppl claim to be saints. |
Seunnzy:YES they boost of one trophy and they are among the top seeds says alot about their performances in the past 14 seasons or so in UCL. Apart from our crisis periods,we don't disappoint in UCL. Take it to the bank! |
Stale news. I know say BBNaija nogo aloow unah report current news. Good thing though cuz Italians/most Europeans are core racists.
|
lilbest4:Ok, I don here. So because they won 4 of the last six, they should continue winning and their players are constantly in top form. Why the unnecessary spending in the last summer window if that is the case? Abeg I no get energy for argument. |
Frankiss44:I never implied that Chelsea would win the Champions league. I was pointing out that Chelsea is no pushover when it comes to Champions league football. Let me help u with the appropriate wordings,Chelsea has plenty amazing kids plus old players too. When u talk about Odoi,Loftus,Pedro,James,Rudiger,Kante all out injured. Give Chelsea sometime and u will see how formidable they will become. And YES, Barca,Bayern and Madrid are not as strong as they use to be. |
Jidibia:Their era have passed. Perhaps wrong choice of word. |
When it comes to European competition, never underrate Chelsea football club. Champions league has its spirit. Infact,of all the teams listed,it is only Liverpool that has champions league pedigree. MODIFIED: "Pedigree" based on current form! Barca,Real Madrid and Munchen are not as strong as before plus Juventus dont play as a unit. |
Earthquake1:Absolutely! It is a good platform for the guys to showcase their talents.I just hope that the team will be more cohesive and avoid unnecessary showboating. |
I dont understand why some peeps are panicky about the Brazil friendly. For me I think it is a good time to face them. I believe we can learn from the experience we get from the match irrespective of the outcome and that is all that matter. |
The other guy be like "me? carry the other one? lol! |
