HealthRe: Why Can’t A Matron Take Instruction From Doctor? – Lawmaker by chucs: 8:07am On Jul 20, 2014
Nigeria can never develope with this kind of law makers.. I don't blame him after all whenever he gets sick,he flies himself abroad..
CelebritiesRe: Peter Okoye Replies Those Bashing Him For Snubbing His Brother's Wedding by chucs:
Peter Okoye should be careful with his utterances in public because it is the fans that helped him to the top(he even has a track on that). No body in the family should be regarded as useless. I pray he doesn't follow the part my uncle went by disregarding his siblings to some extent with the excuse that he wanted to face his wife and kids. After training them, the evil wife turned his children against him and he finally got blinded without them caring for him. The extended family members are now helping him...Jude was wrong by not attending his wedding but he must'nt pay evil with evil. No man is an island.

phillip4re: i am not a medical doctor, but i support this strike..even most nigeria teaching hospitals and medical centres pharmacy are not that functional.most patients go outside the hospital to buy drugs, example, kunle ara pharmacy at uch or akol at lautech teaching hospital ogb.let the hierarchy be well defined.they're not mates in any form
Its only in Nigeria that we swim in anomaly.

benghaziii: Nigerians are selfish..am nt a doc ooo..bt how would u feel if in a company,a person wif school cert is allowed to head an organization filled wif peepz wif masters. Degree.
How well will u be able to trust his decision making n co...
Johesu...is just fighting a war that is already lost.
Am even disappointed to see pharmacist nurses n physiotherapists amongst dem...total hatred... Nothing else...consultant fire...
God keep us alive, we will wait and see who wins...I only pity the masses.
HealthRe: PSN More Reasonable Than NMA? by chucs: 3:08pm On Jul 18, 2014
kenonze: its a pity, may his soul RIP.
am pretty worried abt this JOHESU.
They should rethink and do the needful.
A nurse (strong supporter of JOHESU) came to my clinic 2nights ago shouting help help help ....doctor doctor ...my brother is dying, help help... I looked at time, it was 2am, I did the needful and the brother got healed .
earlier before now,
this same nurse said she will not work for any private hospital because we cannot pay what govt pays. she so much detest Doctors to the extent that all my colleagues avoids her.
but when the appointed time came she trace my clinic with her "k-leg ".
Be careful on how you laugh at a berieved because it can happen to anyone...Nurses are not Alpha and Omegas as the doctors claim to be forgetting that it is God who gives total healing.

Afrocatalyst: Pharmacists are nt trained to head hospitals like doctors. Why beating around the bush na?
Shut the hell up!!!! Who trained the doctor to head hospital?
HealthRe: PSN More Reasonable Than NMA? by chucs: 2:20pm On Jul 18, 2014
thegeneral84: Though I don't want to sound callous but the raw truth is " Pharmacists (or any other Allied Medical Profession) going on strike alone would have little or no impact", the main reason for their coming together to form JOHESU in the hope that their impact would be felt then. Your reason for staying together is the "collective hatred" for Doctors. There is no way a common hatred can successfully keep two or more persons together. You can't decide to marry a girl only because you both hate say "saloon cars". Sadly, That is what JOHESU is.
And your point is that you are enjoying the impact, right?
HealthRe: Doctors Strike......reps Threaten Warrant Of Arrest Against Health Minister. by chucs: 11:46am On Jul 18, 2014
DanNafada: My little contribution as a doctor who has worked in a teaching hospital in Naija and now working in the NHS:

1. It is an absolute shame for any doctor to go on total strike, for whatever reason. There is just no justification for causing so much suffering and death in a profession that is considered to be as noble as Medicine.
2. The Chief Executive of every major health organization or hospital in most of the West is NOT a doctor. In the NHS for example, there is a Medical Director and others below him who are doctors but the head honcho is the Chief Executive, who is usually not a doctor.
3. There are Nurse Consultants in the NHS but they are mainly based in tertiary academic units and hardly involved in daily clinical care.
4. The first and only time I remember the BMA agreeing to a Doctor's strike in England, emergency and other essential services were not affected. Hardly anybody noticed there was a strike going on and most of this was because doctors voluntarily decided it would have been unethical, even if the reason for considering the strike was justified.

Nigerians have enough on their hands as it is. That a group of very educated and essential professionals cannot see why it is necessary to get back to work simply for the sake of the common man is extremely sad.
May God bless you and your household for saying the truth....TRUTH the say is always bitter but it must be told. Thank you sir!!

This is a total jealousy laden inferiority complex...
A nurse will now tell a patient that she is a consultant n will leave the nurse"title outta it..n will keep managing patients wrongly
you have just shown to the world your level of understanding. I pity the patients!!!

house37: You are just blabbing. The deserted hospital are indeed a testimony to the fact that majority of the masses now dislike doctors.286 indeed and you think that jamb result with what we all know about jamb and the high probability that you didn't get that score unaided is enough guarantee that you would have sailed through medical school and residency smoothly.
I find it funny coming from you, a doctor because doctors on this forum have on countless times boasted about writing JAMB and getting a pass mark that can get one into meds school..You may have written it cuz you guys can do anything to show that others have irrelevant opinion.
HealthRe: Nma Strike: The Patients's Perspective by chucs: 1:37pm On Jul 15, 2014
adeoladrg: There can't be a neutral opinion. It's either you want to improve patient care(JOHESU), or you want us to maintain the status quo(NMA). Our healthcare is presently ranked 196/198 in the world or so, remember that.
No point commenting.
HealthRe: Nma Strike: The Patients's Perspective by chucs: 1:29pm On Jul 15, 2014
jpphilips: There you go again, if there are already existing unproductive hierarchy and cadre in nursing, why do you want more by asking for consultancy?
What have the patients benefited from those so called BSc. nurses who fold their legs on front desk while the registered nurses pack all the sh!!t and p!ss? what use are they to us?

I have seen a Bsc nurse who refused to remove an Anal dressing in the name of not wanting to soil her hands and claim it is for the Reg. nurse to do so, meanwhile on another patient, the so called BSc nurse could not put a catheter, it was a doctor who came to her rescue.

BSc nurse vs Reg. nurse is a lot of problem already, the patient don't want more bureaucracy. A Bsc nurse on night duty only chat online in the name of writing report on the system, it is the Reg. nurse that throw away all the p!!s from the P!ss bags, practically they are useless.

Aux. nurse will bathe the patient, fetch water for patients, run around for food, serve drugs, clean the hospital, change diapers etc the BSc will be seating like an oracle dishing out insults on the productive ones.

#Say no to unproductive consultancy# if a nurse, pharmacist or scientist want to be consulted, open a shrine, or store take it outside the Govt hospitals.
Hmmmmm!!! Nemo dat quod non habet is a latin adage meaning one does not give what he does not have. My dear you don't have the understanding so please do some research and come up with something better.

5minsmadness: So you were looking for one that would favour JOESHU?
I was looking for unbiased and neutral opinion.
HealthRe: Nma Strike: The Patients's Perspective by chucs: 12:36pm On Jul 15, 2014
jpphilips: sorry bros, just help me put the right phrase, while doing that, Kindly read meaning into the rest of the message to garner support for our doctors, like I told a friend of mine, it is we the patients that will suffer most if the status quo is not restored.

Look at the competition between the BSc Nurses and the Registered nurses (all JOHESU members) and now they want consultancy?
I don't want a nurse to tell me she is a consultant who can no longer pack sh!!t in the ward.
Mr man its not every nurse that packs faeces. There is hierarchy and carder in nursing profession which is also found in other profession. U seem to be a patient that has vast knowledge in medical field but found it difficult to acknowledge the existence of nurse consultants as seen all over the world. I find it difficult to understand why a professional will not be allowed to get to the peak of his/her career. The issue on ground is not about ownership of the patients but the a clear knowledge of what consultant stand for. According to wikipedia "a consultant is a professional who provides professional or expert advice in a particular area such as security(electronic or physical),management, accountancy, law, human resources, marketing(and public relations),finance, engineering or any of many other specialized fields"
HealthRe: Nma Strike: The Patients's Perspective by chucs: 10:24am On Jul 15, 2014
This patient perspective favours the doctors . I think the writer does not have a clear understanding of the subject matter.

Please do you think that other health professionals doesn't have practising license? Any mismanagement on the part of any of them will result in him or her being sued and his or her license revoked. They can even serve jail terms if the case is a serious one.

HealthRe: Salaries Of Doctors And Other Health Workers In Some Countries by chucs: 11:25am On Jul 13, 2014
Dio1: There really aren't specialist nurses in nigerian teaching hospitals , so your point is baseless, nigerian nurses and their johesu cohorts are not interested in specialization… they're more concerned about salary
please don't be ignorant,do some research work.
HealthRe: Salaries Of Doctors And Other Health Workers In Some Countries by chucs: 11:18am On Jul 13, 2014
slimmy05: But seriously, you have since been ranting without dropping any link yourself and you refer them to Google.com. You ooze of arrogancy, typical of every nurses.

Well, when you walk into any hospital, you only find the nurses gossiping rather than attending to patients. They work lesser hours than the doctors, they go on leave at any slightest headache. tongue They grumble and complain a lot. They really do not have much work to do in a teaching hospital setting. Its even the doctors that set line and in most cases give patience their drugs.
you must be silly to write that about nurses. You mentioned about grumbling and complaining, who grumbles and complains when other health workers get payed half of what the doctors are payed, doctor. Who are on strike grumbling and complaining, doctors. Bro write what you know instead of mocking yourself. You can never compare the long hours nurses spend with patients to that of doctors. you made mention of nurses going on leave, I advice you pick up the civil service rule book and read so that you learn more about the civil service.
