Good morning everyone, i will make it short, on my way to work this morning, after climbing a bump I noticed that the gear suddenly didnt respond, as if the gear is in neutral. I parked and switched off the engine, restart and engage the gear yet the car didn t move. I 've called my mechanic to check it while I join a cab to work. Gear hasn't been worked on before, gear oil is intact (faint pink). Please any suggestion because I don't trust all these kazeems. Car is corolla sport 04. c.c Gazzuzz, autologic, deportivo.

same thing happened to a friend's 04 corolla sport. Only difference is that he sped over a bump cos it was dark and didn't see it. Ended up replacing the transmission. Still shows solenoid code. Returned 2 transmissions cos of that code. Yet the 3rd still has the code. Movement is swift, so he is living with the code.

Go to the housing estate on the road to Ibom hotel and tell the woman there to give you correct afang soup and not the 2 days own wey you call yourself. I go pay

seriously u sound dumb here. One thing I know is that they are scam. But I must state this. If they are an auction house, then there is no crime saying one cannot test or drive. Auction houses have this as is policy. Copart and other auction house abroad also don't allow starting and test driving. But this ur epistle is saddening. Means they gave a false report of the car to the buyer. They are a perfect definition of daylight scam.

yes, there will be history but not in all cases. I won't go to explain that now. Truth is that most of our dealers bring in badly accidented cars. Badly accidented that you think they are imported solely for parts. A trip to Tin can will make u weep. Sometimes out of the greed of dealers they do these things. Some other times out of the unreasonable demand of people. Someone will want a 2010 Venza but he has just 2m. A wicked dealer will just want to take advantage. We have a long way to go in this country. Our values are horrible.

if don't want to tag it accident, at least don't tag it accident free. I quite understand you. But our grouse is tagging a salvage car non accidented. It's all about full disclosure either voluntarily or when asked. It's also all about not giving deceitful information. I feel it's more responsible to be silent than do the later.

Now we're in more familiar territory. Getting cars registered isn't as easy elsewhere as it is in Nigeria. There are tons of checks. Emissions, etc etc. Roadworthiness in Nigeria is a huge joke, it isn't in North America.

If, after all these repairs chukel alluded to, these vehicles don't pass any of the DMV tests, good luck registering and using that vehicle legally.

you get the point. The repairs are standard. But here, the repairs are cosmetic to deceive the buy. Dealers deal with buyers ruthlessly. Stuff cloth in place of airbags, use cheap parts from an entirely different brand just to get car moving. All we need is sincerity.

exactly. That's why you have the Mexicans with their cheap labor almost allover the states. But again, let's not derail this thread. Alot of shady practices have been going on here with the dealers. This is one very good move. I just hope the mods will enforce VIN as a requirement for adverts. Atleast a lot of people have been enlightened so they don't see honest dealers who bring in clean titled cars as greedy fellows who sell at exorbitant prices. Next door should be the custom clearing agents. Please this trend should continue. Especially unearthing fraudulent people who label salvage cars as accident free.

pls let's not exaggerate these things. Whites buy these cars in their numbers, fix them up and sell at dealerships. They use these cars there a lot. In fact they drive up the prices at auction as a result of their interests and having excess cash cos they don't get to ship and pay custom duty. The campaign is full disclosure.

Only rear bumper and minor blemishes on the right side. Truth is most Nigerians cannot and will not even if they have the means, buy clean titles. The campaign is just full disclosure. This is a scam...even the customs agent who helped me get my car from Cotonou in 2014 when the land borders were still open, confirmed to me on phone & even in his thread here on Nairaland that - there is nothing like Tincan papers for Cotonou vehicles now.

that car is too damn expensive. 3.8 million for 2011 corolla. A clean title of that car is not beyond 3500 dollars with a good mileage. Shipping and expenses, not above 1500 dollars. Custom N500k. Now all that is not upto 2.5 Million. But am quite sure that came into this country salvaged and way cheaper.
