Padi Padi means what though? This kind of mindset is why the country is where it is today. The scholarship was pure merit and many of us are from humble backgrounds, you think if top politicians had their kids on this we would be coming to nairaland here. Menial job is not the problem but if you went to school abroad you would know menial jobs cannot pay your tuition fees, rent and still live decently except you are doing the menial jobs full time! Is it not stupid that we have to resign "white collar" and go be slaves in another country?

You do menial jobs to survive and do not even have any empathy, God help you.

Let me tell u wat I know of. I once attended interview for one of these scholarships and surprisingly I met one our our respected professors in the university I finished from as one of the panelist for the scholarship I also met his son who finish from same faculty and school as me and was not even up to an average student he struggled to graduate. Surprisingly he got the scholarship and we went home empty handed..

That's the reality of Nigeria whether you agree with me or not.

I don't know where you are studying but I know in Germany part time menial jobs can take care of your living expenses an you work full time during the holliday to save money

These guys should stop whining. As if nor b padi padi dem use get the scholarship.

Are you guys too big to do menial jobs? We wey use our hustle go the abroad go school and dey do menial jobs to survive we nor get two head.

At least you dey d abroad. Many naija guys dey resign their white collar jobs in naija to come hustle with menial jobs in Europe and de still make good money..

I ask because my Passport and travel insurance got to the embassy same day as yours monday 24th September 2018, and i am worried cos i have not heard from them up till now and my intended date of travel is today..

Sent mine on Thursday via courier and it got there this monday and up till now no word from the embassy. I have friends thats submitted that Wednesday and yet they have not heard anything too

I was interviewed by the V.O. on dreadlocks and i could not answer questions about world war and bundestag..

Am so grateful for the love and support i got from this thread. Nairaland is truly a blessing to Nigeria and it is painful that so many persons do not know that such a loaded forum that provides answers to all their questions and needs exist.

I was able to secure my first employment with tips gotten from Nairaland amd now visa..

Same thing happened to me yesterday.
I initiated a recharge of #2000 of my MTN sim on my firstbank Mobile App. The money was deducted from my account when the recharge was not successful. I have tried calling to speak to a Firstbank call center agent but anytime they pick up the call suddenly ends.

I had to send them a mail and if by tomorrow i dont get a response i will go and lodge a formal complaint physically in the banking hall. This is the second time its happening. The first was for a recharge of#200 but i let it slide.

This is daylight robbery and dey should be held accountable.

Go to the Trades and services section of zenith bank
Thrid floor, Zenon building, Plot 2 ajose adeogun street, Victoria island Lagos.

Go with your admission letter, fintiba make the transfer, degree certificate, international passport and the breakdown of living expenses from your school.

They will do it for you.

I told her PhD is purely a research based degree but msc has a lot of course works along with research and so at the end you are well grounded in that particular field of study. She said ok and nodded

This woman drill you oh, I also did my interview today, Room 1. The lady was just to cool she didn't ask all this questions though. Paulinus was hot today and that German lady police almost slapped those Schengen applicant today thanks to Paulinus who rescued them

Had my interview today. I was interviewed by the black lady on dreadlocks. She was very thorough. Most of the questions she asked are the common ones although she asked me some difficult ones. I will list them out
1. What is the capital of Baden wurrutenburg
2 how many States does Germany have? List all the 16 States and their capital
3. How many countries share borders with Germany list them
4. What is the capital of Belgium
5. What do you know about rivers and seas in Germany
6. What is the bundestag?
7. When are elections held into their office
8. What type of government does Germany operate
9. Who is the chancellor and what political party does she belong to and what date did she assume office
10. Who is the president of Germany what political party and what date did he assume office
11. When did the second world War happen. What caused the war
12. Why another masters since you are over qualified for a PhD
13. What are your plans after studies..

We were 55 student visa applicants today I got to the embassy by before 6am and I was number 25. Because of the high number of visa applicants today they had to send Schengen visa applicants away and ask them to come try tomorrow.

And my visa fee was #26,500.

For those of you that just arrived lagos for your interview you can register on taxify. I was given #2000 bonus for Sala celebration and from where I am lodging to the embassy is less than 700 naira on taxify. So I will be riding for free..

Its not a thing of our tribe, so our embassies are now so useless that an underaged teen being trafficked cannot be returned safely to Nigeria. They had to send her via bus to Benin only to be left at the mercy of another Nigerian.

I heard most of our embassies in these francophone countries are useless..i never thought they were this useless

By the way I got my flight discount oo and my days are numbered in Nigeria now... The lady that helped me with the discount thing asked if I have traveled out before and I told her I have not gone to even Cotonou but now na Germany I dey go...

So she explained everything to me and the Dubai stop thing what and what I have to do not to miss the flight from Dubai to Germany.... Basically she said I should always ask as soon as I get in touch with their staffs as they have unique attire so therefore issa banger

Which of the cities are you flying to.. I heard the discount is only for Frankfurt and darmstat.. Kindly confirm
