In an Exclusive interview in the November Edition of Genevieve Magazine, Tiwa Savage talked about the fact that she pays her tithes often as well as her conversations with God.

“I am very spiritual. I do not joke with paying tithe or speaking with God. I may not always get to kneel down and pray but at some point in the car or wherever I am, I would have a conversation with God. I owe everything to him and I guess a lot of people don’t see that side,” she said.

Tiwa explained that she ‘gave her life to God on July, 16 2002’ and went through a tough time following that. ­

She talked about the times she would get on a train and preach as well as practicing abstinence for three years.

“On July 16th 2002… I gave my life to God. I had gone through a tough time trying to find myself. I went through heartbreak, and I remember crying so much through that time. I felt lost and didn’t know where I needed to be in this world. I know this sounds cliché, but I was praying one day and I literally felt the presence of God in the room with me. And, you know when you first give your life to Christ, you are a radical. So, then, I would preach to strangers on the train and say “Jesus sent me to you”. Sometimes I would give my entire one month paycheck to the church; they asked for only 10%, but I would give the entire 100%. People scoffed and said “She is new in the faith, just give her another year”. And for three years, I was not intimate with a man. I didn’t kiss or have sex. Every time I hug a man it would be from the side. A lot of people can relate to that because it has happened to a lot of us but the key is to be consistent,”she said.

The singer also stated that even if she wasn’t a Christian she still wouldn’t have lived a promiscuous life owing to her nature.

Top Nigerian food blogger, Dunni of Dooney's Kitchen was a year older a few days ago and she marked it by having a beautiful photo shoot.

The shot was taken by Gazmadu , while the make up was done by @harynola for@zainabazeez.

She further told an interesting story about her brith, read it below:

There's this old saying; "the way a child comes into this world can be a prelude into their personality". Big Oladunni will tell you that she was induced multiple times. Labour refused to progress. I was supposed to be an early Dec baby, but she got tired of being pregnant. Woke up on Nov 26 walked into her hospital & demanded to be induced because she had had enough. She was told to go call my father, but no one could reach him on a landline, yet she insisted she was going to deliver that day. Guess who showed her who's boss.

I came when I was good and ready. Not a moment before. The Doctor said "madam, this your baby is stubborn o". Induced labour I have been told is really painful, so you can imagine what my delivery process was like. That tale followed me into childhood. You make me do what I am not ready to do & I would give you a lot of grief. I refused to sleep when babies slept. Wake me up to give me a bath and I will cry for hours on end, disturbing the whole house. "aromi ma we, ota pako" was my song.

From potty training to feeding. My mother would start with, pleading, bribery, then threaten to smack & I would cry, eat some more and throw up. While she cleaned me up, I would be giving her the "good for you look" with my big eyes. I was not even 4yrs old. From learning to read, doing my sums, learning to swim & even cooking. I did it at my own pace. My mother & I have battle scars , but she has figured out, you don't pressure this one.

It is a running joke between us, that Karma is doing press ups. But that's me. I dance to the beat of my own drums & they beat loud enough & guide my path aplenty. External pressures ain't got nothing on them. In a world where everyone wants you to do everything they are doing or what your "mates" are doing, I am glad I can say, I've been doing it mostly my way since 19 eighty something.

I'm Oladunni Omotola Uchechukwu Amma Obata & no one else. Uchechukwu means God's Will. My grandfather knew something was up with this child . So here's to me & another year of taking control of my own life. More Photos Below...

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State reportedly rewarded each member of the victorious Federation Cup 2015 winning Akwa United with two million naira and a residential apartment in the state capital. This was disclosed by the governor on Monday evening at the banquet hall of the government house during a reception to honour the team.

Akwa United defeated Lobi Stars to win the 2015 Federation Cup title - their first ever major domestic trophy and also qualify for next year's Caf Confederation Cup.

In his remarks, the Akwa Ibom governor, praised the team's dedication, discipline and determination to have won the first national title for state under his administration. Four coaches and 35 players were rewarded but it seems the backroom were left out as they were not mentioned.

The Chief Executive officer, Dangote Foundation, Ms Halima Dangote, during a visit to the Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, disclosed that, Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, through it’s Dangote Foundation is building a state-of-the-art operating theatre and diagnostic centre at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano. She disclosed that the project will be completed in the next two years.

Noting that the project is a N7bn project, she attributed the earlier delay to technical hitches and said the new contractor, Dantata and Sawoe, had returned to site.

Corona Schools celebrated its 60th anniversary gala with the launch of its Commemorative Edition of the Monopoly Game. The event held at the Muson Center on the 27th of November 2015 and it had past and present students in attendance.

The event also had in attendance the special guest of honour the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Professor Yemi Osinbajo SAN, his wife Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo, the Governor of Lagos State was represented by the Special Adviser on education Obafela Bank-Olemoh, dignitaries from the educational sector, top government officials and the MC’s of the day Mr. Teju Oyelakin and Mrs. Dakore Akande who also attended the Corona school.

Speaking at the event, the Special guest of honour the Vice President of Nigeria Professor Yemi Osinbajo SAN went down memory lane to when he was a student of Corona in the 6o’s. He highlighted the core values of the school which was to deliver world class education to children, inculcate high moral and ethical values and prepare students to be good leaders and global citizens.

Also speaking at the event was the Chairman Governing board Mr. Adedotun Sulaiman who spoke about the exciting journey the school has embarked on for the past 60 years and its achievements, Mrs. Olufunto Igun Chair Corona Trust also spoke about the vision of Corona schools that was to transform the educational sector in Nigeria.

The high point of the gala was the unveiling of the first ever African Monopoly school edition. The Corona schools edition of Monopoly was unveiled by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Professor Yemi Osinbajo SAN,his wife Dolapo Osinbajo,the Minister of State,CEO Bestman Games Mrs. Nimi Akinkugbe an Alumni of Corona schools, the Chairman Governing board Mr. Adedotun Sulaiman and the Chair Corona Trust Mrs. Olufunto Igun.

The Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo and his wife rolled the dice, while the CEO of Bestman Games spoke of the values and benefits embedded in the board game which includes financial literacy, ethical values, family bonding, learning how to invest and money matters.

The plan for the launch of the customized Corona edition of Monopoly is to capture the essence of this outstanding educational institution with its unique customs and traditions with a game that will provide many hours of quality family entertainment for generations to come.

The event concluded with the award ceremony presentation for outstanding work and dedication and announcement of a Corona Alumni Association.

Athletes who represented River State during the National Sports Festival, stormed the Rivers state Secretariat in Portharcourt this afternoon over non payment of their fees/allowances. From information i gathered, the allowance payment being protested for by the athletes, is an accumulated debt by the past administration. The secretariat is still loud at the moment.. Hoping this doesn't escalate anytime soon...

According to NAN, The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor of Rivers, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, has officially resigned from the position. Mr. Tariah, in a resignation letter to the governor on Friday, said unfolding developments in the State indicated that his services were no longer needed.

He said that throughout his service as Media Adviser, he did not threaten any journalist or police officer.

“However, with unfolding developments, it is irrefutable that my services are no longer needed.’’

He thanked the governor for giving him the opportunity to serve him and the state as a Special Adviser. Mr. Tariah wished the governor God’s guidance and blessings.

The governor is yet to respond to Mr. Tariah’s resignation.
