Ignorance or you lack a lot for not knowing how society ought to work and how good governance and development reflect positively on the poverty rates and living standard of the people. What is 5000 compare to policies that could transform lives for a long time. You buy paint of garri and 500 is gone, what next? You return to zero. If 5000 is your limit then keep it.
You are quite insensitive. In the US and UK, there is a welfare system where jobseekers get an allowance. Please explain to me why that is not a waste of money. Afterall they could have used that money to create jobs so everyone can work. You need to understand he place of welfare in any society. These 5k goes to pepple who have not held 5k together before. Watch the video of that old lady and see how 5k has changed her life. If all the roads and light is there, such a person would likely still not be able to find sustenance. Where is your humanity?

Give us road, light, education, healthcare and stop this useless policies.
After giving the road and there is no food, then what next? You have never seen poverty before is why you are so flippant.

Why do you call him a fool only because of a simple political disagreement? Is he not entitled to his opinion? Ok you that is not a fool, tell us why it is not a good policy.

Conditional cash transfers have been used as a poverty ameliorating measure the world over. I'm sure you would tell me in your next post that they are all fools.

When someone says Bukola Saraki's father handed over to him as governor, and goes ahead to further claim that Bola Tinibu handed over governorship of Lagos to his wife, it becomes evidently clear how much of Democracy they've actually learned.
So no Sir, if learning about democracy would make me make the kind of ignorant assertions that you make, then I'd rather remain democratically naive.

And if it will put a smile on your face, Yes the people can vote for who they want; which is exactly what happened in the Imo State APC ward congress.
Good. Doesn't mean I will support rigging, just because the governor's son-in-law must not come to power at all costs. There should be a level playing field. Let whoever wins win.
PoliticsRe: Report Of Imo State Ward Congress Appeal Committee (Photos) by Chylo(m): 7:38pm On May 15, 2018
WilliamKhan:
With all due respect, the points you've raised here are baseless, and completely irrelevant in relation to the situation in context.

Saraki's father was never Governor of Kwara State. He was a Senator in the second republic; who as a matter of fact had just recently switched from APP to PDP, and decided to support his son's governorship ambition as any father would.

Tinibu supported his wife to become a senator to represent a particular political zone in Lagos and not to replace him as Governor of Lagos state.

George Bush Jnr. never replaced his father as president. He gradually built his political career by first becoming a governor (not even during his father's presidency), then contested for president and won on his own merits.
And Jeb Bush; the other Son you mentioned? He became governor of Florida; a state different from his father's state of Texas... And you know an interesting fact? He wasn't elected as governor during his father's precidency, so his father had no powers to "Help".
So what are you saying? A father can't support his son to take over from him or what? You need to go and learn about democracy. It's the people's choice to vote for him or someone else, but my choice to support who I want.

Say what you know! Was Saraki Sr ever a governor?
George Bush Sr and Jr their pedigrees are known.
The Okorocha in law in question, go and see his CV, you will not even employ him as a supervisor in your company talk less of governing a state. Okorocha the Roach is desperate to make him governor cause he is the only person he can trust to cover his loots and avoid prosecution.
There are millions of better qualified people in Imo state why pick on somebody with zero experience.
Nigeria is seriously suffering under this regime cause some idiots said even if it is Nepa bill Buhari has as certificate they will vote him. Now see the result.
Imo people will never let Okorocha have his way come what may.
But isn't he entitled to support who he wants? Why must you tell Okorocha who to support? Imolites are still free to vote for Nwosu or someone else.

If you stay in Imo state you will understand that imolites don't want his (rochas) son-law. No one is hating on him, he should just allow us to chose whom will govern us.
How is he imposing him? Isn't it just support?

It is either u r Okorocha or u dont understand the peculiarity of Nigerian viz a viz Imo state politics.
The examples u gave above don't correlate to wat is happening or wat Okorocha wants to do in Imo.
In Imo state there is zoningarrangement for governorship.
Okorocha is from Orlu Zone same as Uche Nwosu his son in-law.
The names u mentioned are quite diff to wats in Imo.
Oluremi dd not replace Bola Tinubu in the Senate immediately neither dd she replace him as the Governor.
Dd Bukola Saraki replace Olusola Saraki right immediately as the Governor of Kwarra state?
Bush family u mentioned is a completely different case. There is nothing like Zoning arrangement in their country, The practice d real democracy diff from ours.
Uche Nwosu has d right to aspire or contest for governorship but he should not b imposed on the electorates nd there has always been a Zoning arrangement. "Orlu zone should nt replace orlu zone right immediately"
There is no zoning in our constitution. Nothing stops orlu from taking over from orlu.

gidgiddy:
It is no news for Governors to choose their successors. What is however strange is for a Governor to choose his family member as his successor, it is simply not done because that is tantamount to turning governance into a family affair.

Okorocha lost the plot when he decided that his son in-law will succeed him.
You were in Primary school when Saraki's dad handed over to his son as governor. Probably in diapers when Tinubu's wife became senator. George Bush Sr. was president, his son became president again later, his other son became governor in the bastion of democracy, the USA.

You are here complaining about rubbish. Abeg carry your hate waka go.

Abeg, all you Orville people enough already. Even with all its Trekkie-ness doesn't make it a better show, so make we hear word. People rate TOS highly simply because it's the original and folks got their rose tinted glasses on.
Lol. It actually is a better show, in my opinion anyway. The whole point of Trek was to make commentary on burning social issues, this Orville does perfectly with great comedy to boot. I've watched TOS through recently again and it still stands up to the time test. I like how every episode is different (unlike discovery) rather than serialized. The captain was more likeable and capable as a leader, he always knew what to do no matter how dire the situation.

Was boring before, got better in this second half of the season. Still rate TOS to be by far better.
Also, The Orville by Seth Macfarlane seems to be more star trek like than Discovery.

Good afternoon fellow nairalanders.

I have been noticing a change in my metabolic system for the past two weeks. Naturally, I am the type that could survive a whole day just with a sachet water to quench my thirst but I noticed that for the past two weeks I have been consuming nothing less than 10 sachet water due to persistent dehydration.

I didn't take it serious until this morning when I was reading a broadcast on one of my WhatsApp groups about "heat waves stemming from the emmision green house gases ". This is said to account for the excessive heat we feel during the day in this period.

My question is " how many of us really feel this rate of dehydration and how often has it forced u to consume water this days?

As for me I just finished drinking the 7th sachet water now grin

You need to check your blood sugar bro. This could be a symptom of onset of diabetes. Especially if it comes with frequent urination and "drymouth", where you are always feeling thirsty all the time and craving sweet things.

Apart from Regression what else can Econometrics do?
Yes, although regression is the basic tool of econometrics, there are so.many types and techniques that attempts could be made to answer a multitude of possible economic questions.

Econometrics can be used to forecast or make predictions, develop economic models, analyse economic history and determine if and by how much something causes something else to happen. So, quite useful.

Mujtahida:
Take it or leave it. There are no Kingdom principles as such. Christ is all. Do you know the meaning of the 'I am' statements frequently used by Jesus?
If Jesus were to speak to you in his usual 'I am' statement he'd say 'I am the giving and the giver'.

Christians don't understand Christ. What makes your giving different from that of a generous Muslim? The answer is your giving is prompted from out of Christ. Giving is a basic principle of this world not a Kingdom principle. Christian giving is beyond just giving because it is of Christ.
I agree with you because all these are just semantics and about how terms are defined. You said giving is a principle of the world, which is true, but it is also a principle for people who belong to God's kingdom. The key thing I was correcting was where you said there was nothing like principles.
Other kingdom principles include faith (by which we live), love (all things must be done in love) and hope. But of course as you rightly said, Christ is an encapsulation of everything!
Christianity EtcRe: Paul Enenche: Gospel Truth Of The Tithe Revealed by Chylo(m): 12:56pm On Nov 26, 2017
Mujtahida:
Why don't you go and sacrifice your son or travel from Ur to Haran since those too are part of what God told Abraham to do given your statement that what God told Abraham is applicable to everybody in our world today.

And didn't God tell Abraham to circumscise his entire household as a mark of the covenant between Abraham and God? Whence then did Paul derive the authority to say that for IN CHRIST neither circumcision nor uncircumscision has any value, the only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Galatians 5:6
If Paul was alive to settle this tithe issue I can confidently say this is what he would say 'for In CHRIST tithing or not tithing does not count what counts is faith expressing itself through love.'

Most pastors endorsing tithe and foisting it on the people through words such 'tithe is a Kingdom principle' are being deliberately deceitful. There are no Kingdom principles- not tithe, not seed faith etc. The only principle is Christ, in Christ.
Open your eyes people.
No sir, there are kingdom principles. Tithing may not be one, but giving and receiving certainly is.

Jesus said when you give, give in secret so that God will bless. Don't come out and show everyone that you are giving, or you have your reward in full. Don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Even if I wanted to give tithe, I wont come out and announce to all that I'm giving it.

1 I'm not kicking against tithe
I'm kicking against compulsion of tithing or haven't you heard that most churches don't allow members to get married and do other things without tithe
or how curses are attached to non payment
if you want to tithe do it but it is not compulsory

in the new testament nobody paid tithe also
you

what God wants actually is a pure heart
who do you think is closer to God.

the man that pays tithe but does not live a Christian life or a the man that lives a Christian life but does not pay tithe
our manmade money is useless to God

it is okay to give in appreciation to God that is Thanksgiving. u can use ur tithe to thank God if you want but that does not make it compulsory

again the Christians in acts were not paying tithes... they were moved to give out of free will not compelled to do so like how it is practiced today

again I'm not against tithing(I prefer to call it giving 10% now)
people even give 10% in my church but they are not forced
the only thing that is announced is that if u want to pay come forward and they pray for you.
no preaching about tithe and how u will be cursed if u don't pay
no keeping of record of who pays so u will deny those who don't pay their rights
just free will.
Do you support selective prayers for 'tithers'?

Did Jesus preach about hell or not? Did Jesus preach about sin or not? Answer my questions and you would know if you are saying the right thing.
FamilyRe: See Why It Is Good To Have Sex Before Marriage by Chylo(m): 6:35am On Jun 22, 2017
It's unbelievable how some people think. You want to confirm and know how everything taste and feel like before being married, rather than just have faith? That's also why some people would not marry until the girlfriend is pregnant to confirm fertility.

This reminds me of the story of our village idiot. He gets drunk but never buys any drinks. Early in the morning, he will come out to where they sell palm wine and tell them he wants to taste. He will taste one and say I don't like it, and go and taste another. By afternoon, he has 'tasted' so many and is fully drunk.

Women are not palm wine to be tasted before buying. You taste Aisha, I don't like. You taste Ngozi, I don't like. You taste Kemi, I don't like. So oga taster which one you like na? What is even your standard for this 'good in bed' of a thing sef?

Women are sealed for a reason. When you buy, you can unwrap and enjoy. God made it that way. Everything sexual can be taught and learnt by the couple together. No need overating sex like some extraordinary thing. Something the couple will do for many years, why do we think experience won't teach the right lessons.
