This is what Hon Gyang Dung should be pushing in the National Assembly. The current Sharia courts do not favour people of other religion when they are dragged to it. This could be attributed to a word in their Quran which says Muslims are to be kind with one another but harsh or severe to the unbelievers.

By the constitution, Christians CANNOT be tried under sharia law. Let me know if you have heard of such a case.

Did you say ambulance and paramedics ? lol you must have been living abroad for a long time. In Nigeria once you are not moving and look dead you are declared dead by the bystanders.

Yeah, that was my point. But I know for a fact that there are emergency ambulances in Lagos particularly. Lack of education is very dangerous to any group of people.

Nigeria is soo backward. An ambulance should have been called first before anything else, at least to try and save the man's life.

The fact that someone is not moving does not mean he is dead. In this particular case, he was pushed into the gutter and probably suffered a concussion and went unconscious. What he needed was first aid and paramedics; and they should not move the body so carelessly until medical help arrives.

These are simple things they teach in Primary schools abroad. We have a long way to go.

It is obvious that if these guys are found guilty, they would face the death penalty because they committed the offence in Edo State.

Other states that have proscribed the death penalty for Kidnapping include:
Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo.

So be very careful because committing kidnapping in any of these 7 states would carry the maximum sentence.
There is also a bill before the Senate to make kidnapping carry capital punishment across the entire country.

Oga, can't u see what is happening? The judges are corrupt and delaying cases till eternity. All corrupt people are charged to court by EFCC, but the judges collect money and spoil it all. Judiciary is our problem in this country.

Lol, the problem is that you don't see how illegal refining can affect your life, but you understand that of illegal drugs. These so called "refineries" only boil crude in drum and condense the kerosene+petrol+diesel gas mixture to sell. They are criminals and they don't care about the end-user of the product. Think about it, if they are doing the proper thing, why don't they apply for refining license? Quack doctors kill, quack mechanics destroy, quack engineers cause building collapse, so also quack refiners cause damage.

Can you see how your argument sounds? Yes, we are in a bad situation of importation, but the solution is not to encourage illegal activities. If they know what they are doing, they should apply for legal license and if they qualify, then they can build their refinery. I have a friend burnt from kerosene stove explosion because of improper kerosene product. I pray you never fall victim.

The truth is that illegal refineries are detrimental to the nation at large. The argument of some people here is like "why close down illegal drug manufacturers?" Why not give them license to produce the drugs since we are still importing drugs? That is ignorance talking. It will kill a lot of people because it is not standardized. They lack the education and training to do it properly. They steal the raw resources they use. They produce sub-standard products.

Mining and refining are two different things. Illegal mining takes resources and ingenuity. I haven't seen a news where illegal drilling of oil in your backyard has been penalized (I may be wrong). Because if you have the know-how to extract oil from the ground, you deserve at least some commendation; same as mining of raw minerals. Perhaps an oil co could hire you. These "refineries" though are nothing more than boiling stolen crude in drums and condensing the kerosene+petrol+diesel gas mixture to sell. No wonder so many stories of exploding cooking stove and engines.
