Rochas Okorocha donates his monthly salary to the state. |
APGA nor get presidential candidate again? I have been waiting for someone to declare as APGA presidential candidate. What a shame of a party. No wonder Peter Obi left. Igbo-party my foot. PDP stooges, why don't they just merge with PDP once and for all, so that we will know where they stand? |
Tony Anenih aka Mr Fix-It, baddest guy ever liveth |
Does anybody else notice that this is pure hired crowd? Kai, see all manner of uniform and banner everywhere. Everybody sowed ashoebi just because of declaration, with Nigeria money for that matter. Too bad. Why can't he allow the masses to come out and support him. Instead of all this colour riot we are seeing here. |
Who is watching live? Ken Nnamani just called Jonathan incompetent. He said Enugu, Onitsha road and Port-harcourt road are all in terrible mess. But you are in position to fix it. 2nd Niger bridge is still mirage, but we want you to come back, so you can do it. Hahahahahahaha Chai! |
pendy79:Oga, carry over price or not. This is the official rate at the moment. Black market is always different, but this is the CBN conversion rate. You may check any website you like for the conversion (and there are many), the price would be about the same. Stop peddling falsehood. Besides, non-economists always assume a weakening currency is necessarily a bad thing. It would be bad for importers as imports are more expensive, but it would be great for exporters. Nigerian oil would be cheaper on the intl market. The problem with this is that Nigeria is a mostly importing country, thus it could be bad for our balance of trade. |
As at today, 9/11/14 1 dollar = 165.60 naira 1 pound sterling = 262.83 naira |
WombRaiders:It stadium, not stadia (stadia is plural). I wasn't arguing with you, I said we will revisit this later, when the stadium is overgrown with weeds. |
maestroferddi:If you become a state governor in whatever part of Nigeria today and you have 40 billion naira, and the first thing you think to do is spend all to build stadium, then goodluck to you. |
Medunah:Sorry if I insinuated that. Have a great day miss. |
Medunah:Erm, Medunah, I think you may need to change your circle of friends. Believe me, God has an army of people who are faithful to Him. Don't think the whole world has gone to the dogs yet. I do not associate with loose people, and I guess that also helps us keep ourselves. We will win at the end, don't worry. |
Mcbussy:Hope you dont think those girls are still in one place o. They are now scattered all over, married to different boko haram members, so perish the thought that they are kept somewhere in Sambisa and being fed and taken care of. There is currently no one place one can go and find the girls, that is why it is so complicated now. Only by God's special grace can those girls be returned. But to be honest, I dont think it will happen, if we dont try to collect them by force. |
maestroferddi:Ok, time will tell. I will remind you of this statement when we start getting the news that this stadium is overrun with weeds. |
Hmm.....nice one. However, one of the reasons why NIGERIANS are daily short changed by their leaders is because majority don't even know the difference between what they want and what they need. Stadium is good but at what expense? One of the reasons why we keep saying this government is clueless is because of the penchant in celebrating minor things at the expense of major and needful things. For crying out loud, there is poverty in the land AND AKWA IBOM IS NOT EXEMPTED. Why a stadium? Now, this is not just criticism for the fun of it but simple logic. I do not, in any way, think that the very first problem of Akwa Ibom is that of a world class stadium. Ask yourself, HOW WILL THAT STADIUM BE PUT TO USE SUCH THAT GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY CAN BE OBTAINED? As of the last time I checked, Nigerian sporting activities have not reached that commercial status such that billions are raked in yearly especially when compared with other sport loving countries to warrant this kind of project. Yes, some people will quickly refer to football but can we say that our football is properly commercialised to warrant this kind of multi billion Naira project? Even in the countries where sporting activities are well commercialised, government tries as much as possible to avoid projects like this because of the cost involved. A good example is the UK where the recently built Olympic stadium has been concessioned to a football club (West Ham united) in order for cost to be maximised. By government's reasoning, West Ham football club will do a better job with the stadium than it (the stadium) remaining a government property with little or no use. Your guess is as good as mine on what will happen when a facility is not put into regular use. To those who are ignorantly celebrating this wastage called stadium, ask yourself if there is any commercial gains that will be made from the stadium. This is not rocket science but simple logic. How much of sporting activities would that stadium get in order to recoup the invested money? After all, capital projects like this one are supposed to bring back some profits. I can bet with any amount that our lack of maintenance culture in nigeria is the very first albatross of that stadium not to now talk of the uncertain political intrigues that will follow once this government quits and another one takes over. A flash back at the tinapa project in calabar would suffice here. The world celebrated it when it was completed and inaugurated but today, what happened to it? I would have loved a government like this, with so much money to spend, to have been more involved in pragmatic programs targeted at the people like building a world class hospital and accessible and affordable healthcare, good transport scheme, social security scheme for elderly, tax credit and relief etc. But like I said earlier, most NIGERIANS want good governance but they don't have a clue on what it means. They cannot differentiate between their wants and their needs and that's why these leaders give them just anything and they (the people) start celebrating. Until we start getting our priorities right in this country, we are not likely to make much progress as far as development is concerned. |
mizzkeji44:Where did you come up with your 80 percent number? Did you take a census? Well, I'm a virgin and all my friends and the guys I hang out with are too. So correct that mindset. Not all guys have sold their souls to the devil. |
mizzkeji44:What kind of mentality is that? You need to repent seriously |
biafranqueen:I've told you before, the cash is for stipend, food money, not for school fees. Are you retarded? or an slowpoke? |
biafranqueen:Ok ma. How many federal secondary schools are in Imo? Answer this first before I respond. |
biafranqueen:Excuse me, the moni he gives them is it not stipend for food and other things? Is it for school fees? Do the students pay any fees at the school? Why are you so stupid? Why? Where else have you seen students being given stipend for going to school? To be sincere just give credit where it is due. |
biafranqueen:What you should be asking is why no roads were in all those places at all before Rochas came. When no road was there, will you be talking of drain and sidewalk? All the govt before, why didn't they at least build the road there? |
biafranqueen:My friend shut your mouth. You see road, now you are talking of drain and sidewalk. With how much money is the state making? The gov has given away his salary and security vote, and you are still not satisfied, he borrow money to do project and you complain, so where will the drain come from now? Is it by magic? Is it not money they use for it? Olodo Please development does not happen overnight. It is little by little. Here a little, there a little, and before you know it, everywhere is connected to a good road network. That is the first step. Later on, the quality can be improved as more money is available. But I repeat, look at the resources the state has. Look at the recurrent expenditure. Of course you know. Imo was the first state to pay 20,000 minimum wage. Surely you know this? |
All of you can shut up now. You have to compare like with like. Compare Imo now, with how it was few years ago, and compare Imo developments with that of similar IGR states like Abia. Can Orji dream of giving free education? at all levels? primary, secondary and tertiary? Even Akwa Ibom with all the money does not give free tertiary education. So what are we saying? Can TA Orji even imagine it sef, not to talk of dream?
|
mrvitalis:O, ee bu onye mbaise, nd ur talking like dis? Na wah to you o |
mrvitalis:Hehehe, mumu saTANist talking rubbish. Have you ever step foot in Imo state before? When were you even born? In case you dont know, Imo state have been completely transformed in just these 3 years of Rochas government. So if ee pain you, go and die. Monkey like u |
This kind of news will not enter frontpage o, instead we will be seeing "My Man Has Two Cars, I Trek Around, Isn't This Selfisness"? Mstcheeew |
Descartes:Someone has shown you up now as an illiterate and you have run away. What a shame. |
Bomoobacom:Yero? Why will you be calling Yero when talking about performance naa? why? Am just a bit worried about the Sambo PDP connection, hope they wont rig him out o. Nigeria needs his kind. Lets see, if he does well, he may be able to vie for president after Okorocha's 8 years (i.e Buhari, then Okorocha, then El-Rufai). Would make sense die. |
I think this is a good move. All progressives need to stop talking and get to work; lets see what they can do when given a chance. |
General Muhammadu Buhari this afternoon in Kaduna declared total support for Mallam Nasir El-Rufai’s governorship ambition in Kaduna state in 2015 elections. https://saharareporters.com/sites/default/files/styles/normal_medium/public/Buhari_endorses_Elrufai.jpg?itok=dENYbf3I Speaking at the El-Rufai’s public declaration, Buhari, who addressed the audience said the people of the state needs El-Rufai to rescue the state from bad leadership and decay. He said “I am here to ask deliberately for your support for El-Rufai, he is the right man to fix Kaduna right. He is courageous and has what it takes to perform. He is the solution to your problems; you need sincere and competent leaders like him.” El-Rufai in his address said, “I consulted widely with people –from traditional rulers, respected elders and public officials that can speak out, as well as ordinary people who have no voice but rely on someone to speak for them. My purpose was to listen to the people and understand what they wanted from the state government and how the government and the people can work together to develop our state. “To say that I was shocked by the level of neglect is an understatement. Our road networks have fallen into disrepair; our schools have no basic teaching and learning tools; our teachers are not motivated; our hospitals and clinics lack essential resources to mitigate the challenges of healthcare and our civil servants are not being sufficiently motivated. Poverty has become worse; unemployment has become more pervasive; agricultural productivity has declined; internally generated revenues are too low to even pay salaries. The picture is indeed very bleak.” https://www.thescoopng.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/wpid-img_20141103_123256.jpg https://media.premiumtimesng.com/wp-content/files/2014/11/Elrufi.jpg |
There should be a law that there should be well-maintained toilet facilities for the public in ALL public buildings, or buildings where people generally have access to. This will help a great deal. Once this is done, then it can be made illegal to defecate or urinate outside, and the person should be charged with indecent exposure as well. But if this is not done, then abeg free people jaare, who can resist the call of nature? |
Reno Omokri aka Wendel Simlin lol |
GenBuhari:My friend, get your stinking bottom out of this thread immediately. You emit an odoriferous fetid effluvium. Please leave my thread. |
