mki: So you beleive that muslims are arrested for walking around muslim in Abia state. Can't you see that the Op is just a mischevious alarmist out to generate bad blood? How would you know that a person is a muslim even when he has his NYSC attire on? I know that are muslims in Abia state going about their businesses and worshipping in their mosques unmolested. Please always read between the lines.
Yeah you are right. I see a lot of muslim corpers in Owerri going around their daily business with no one raising an eyebrow towards them. Christianity is NOT wicked/cruel to non Christians.

The muslims who are always the architects of their own misfortune never cease to cry foul when their it starts getting back to them. They should spend more time sorting things out with their boko haram brothers and sisters instead of coming here to yap trash!
NYSCRe: Muslim Corps Members Harassed In Abia State Over Bokoharam Issues by Chynx(m): 1:14pm On Jul 09, 2014

No basis for comparison
Hey, Christian Corpers have been known to be attacked in the North...especially female corps members.

Stones were hauled at my girlfriend right inside the premises of sokoto state polytechnic during our NYSC program in 2006...just because she was dressed in trousers.

You Northerners (Islamists) always start up conflicts but when it gets out of hand, you begin to whine. Check put the origin of what happened (is happening) in C.A.R. No be una start am?

I need you to understand that when "arrests" are made, the Government is to be questioned NOT the locals... because security forces are mixed up with personnels from every part of the country. ..especially the north.

Stop whining!

9jacrip: At the bolded: it is either you were fed with the wrong history or you are an impostor - I choose to go with the latter.

Professor Bolaji Carew was never part of the original 7. Pyrate was formed in '52 and Bolaji got into UI in the late 60s, formed Buccaneers Confraternity in '72 and graduated in '73.

He did not default, Pyrate confraternity was molded along class. There were people who felt they were super pyrates and instead of blurring that line in their brodahood, it was the order of the day - Bolaji and some others left Pyrates over this and never looked back. He was not spotted or dismissed, no! (this is why in Buccaneers Confraternity, everyone is equal. Regardless if you have been a member for many decades and someone joins today, you are both equal, will be treated equally and you stand eye to eye to greet each other, no ass kissing or super Buccaneers - the only fraternity where this is done)

In fact, it wasn't as if he solely spearheaded the schism, he was given the mantle of leadership because he was a very brilliant chap in school and was popular - a move which made the fraternity lay emphasis on importance of academic prowess of prospective initiates.

Go back to your old dogs to breed you properly when discussing matters bordering on Lords.
You are stark empty. I won't give you that privilege.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Cultism:who Is To Be Blamed? by Chynx(m): 3:23pm On Jul 07, 2014
9jacrip: Right.

An average joe won't bother about Y and I.

I suppose this is what you were told but this is false. This is a battle with Pyrates and Buccaneers that will never end - Buccaneers are least bothered about Pyrates but Pyrates on the other hand bent on carrying out an assault of lies in history; which you just displayed, online fora; with gory tales written about Buccaneers and the media; your national capone was on express AM saying 'they, the buccaneers belong to the violent ones', coupled with how every frat skirmish is put on Buccaneers - the recent Damoche (who was never a buccaneer, the vikings nd issue at owerri etc). Meanwhile BAN keeps rolling over playing dead, this might change soon. Professor Bolaji Carew was never spotted, he and some folks left on their own volition and more pyrates began to cross over - I won't go into details.

By this, he meant Buccaneers are usually believed to be 'fine boys' and originally referred to as 'omoluabis' in UI way back before the old hands disconnected from the younger ones - most people seek to join Buccaneers first before any other fraternities and the reason Buccaneers is having problems is, many were rejected in the early 90s, hence the continuous violence against Buccaneers from members of other fraternities who felt 'dissed'.

All other frats, even degenerate ones claim to have been built upon this ideologies.

Usual propaganda! On Modaship, Pyrates are present, Olabiso Onabanjo has Pyrates too, Unilag, Funaab and even Osun State University - most of whom I've happened to come across. Dogs in Osogbo relate with and aid the sail of Dogs in Osun State University - they hide under covers of Buccaneers in school, who see them as 'cousins'.

Every other frat say this too. Doesn't make PC exclusive.

Flat lie! It seems every dog has been ingrained with lies to continue the vendetta against Lords over the schism of 1972! You lot just want to keep using every subtle means possible to maroon the sail Bolaji Carew set over 40 decades ago, yet, the wind has never left the ship's canvas! BAN has never tried to emulate PC, tell that to Vikings - we don't have the same structures or lingos bro.

This is the problem, when Pyrates in OSU get caught, they lie they are Buccaneers. When they have problems with other frats, they run to Buccaneers for cover. Most situations BAN got caught up with in mid-90s was because they were involved in PC wahala.
My dear you are entitled to whatever opinion you deem fit. I am not about to bandit words over the internet. If thats the stories you guys were fed then you have no choice but to livw by that orientation.

I wonder who the PC ran to for cover during the 20 long years they sailed void of the existence of BAN...and I wonder why this current increased migration of buccaneers to the Pyrates Confraternity.

Now let me tell you this; the NYSC discharge certificate or a Letter of Exemption is a MANDATORY document that MUST be presented long before an aspirant is assessed. I wonder were you got all these PC campus tales of yours that you claim is in existence till this day.
I hope you are concious of the fact that impersonation is equally the order of the day?

Just do your thing bruv. The difference is obvious.

cyril83: I choosed to comment base on your insinuation, go back and read what you posted and see how little you portrayed BAN on a lobsh site.
Pehaps the wrong signal was sent across. Downgrading any Confrat is the very last thing I'm capable of for I have come to respect anyone who decides to stand for something.

I am a member of the NAS and as such, share certain things in common with the BAN due to our origin. I will not conciously disrespect anyone...for I wasn't groomed to do so.

I urge you to sail on positively; if indeed you are a sailor.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Cultism:who Is To Be Blamed? by Chynx(m): 12:10pm On Jul 07, 2014
cyril83: Downgrading BAN and refferred its members as lobbers make you an I'm.bec.ile who based his fact and belief on lies from the internet. Founders of BAN were not black-spotted due to indecency but mutiny. BAN policy against indecency.
You don't have to call names my dear. I won't downgrade myself to that level just yet.

If you understand the use of English and perhaps your orientation as a member of BAN, you should have read between the lines properly. Let me rephrase for a probable better comprehension by you...

"A member of NAS who was among the original seven (7) founding fathers of the system derailed/lagged/defaulted/did something which was frowned at (I don't have to spill the beans here) and was black-spotted as a result. Rather than tyrn a new leaf and plead for reabsorption, he joined hands with a lubber (someone who is not a Pyrate/in terms with what it takes to be a sailor) and formed the BAN.

Mind you, none of these was surfed from the web.

Have a good day and choose your words wisely. It pays to do so.

coolest0: Since when did topic like this start hitting frontpage, smh huh

Anyway Wole Soyinka Started the pirate confraternity in 1965... , They confraternity starts becoming corrupt and no longer stands for hence in 1972 another confraternity was formed (Bucanneers Association Of Nigeria) till today it still remain the best and most recognized, with good behavious and high morality among members... In 2002 it became legalized in Nigeria constitution....

Check google for more details...

N.B- insults allowed only from derailed mind
I think you guys need some degree of clarity here.

1. The Pyrates Confraternity a.k.a National Association of Seadogs was not formed in 1965 but 1952; ask your google.

2. Pyrates are NOT Pirates. The confrat website will tell you more...just do some research.

3. One of the founders of BAN was once a Seadog who was black-spotted for indecent acts but refused to bleach his spot, thus; formed the BAN with a lubber who continue to copy virtually every PC way of life till this day!

4. When you talk of "best behaviour" I really don't get what you mean. I you new to your frat?

5. The PC was formed with four compass points to be upheld at all time:
- Against moribund convention.
- Against tribalism and ethnicity.
- For humanistic ideals.
- For comradeship and chivalry.

6. You cannot find the PC in schools anymore. Not for children or miscreants. There are a whole lot of challenging qualities strictly required of a person (after series of tests and exams) before you can be considered for acceptance into the brotherhood.

7. No Seadog will ever cajole or lure anyone into the confrat, for the fewer the merrier! There is a very high set standard within the association that 80% of prospective joiners are turned down. That is as serious as it is.

The BAN is making concious efforts to emulate the PCs with many Buccaneers vying to join the PC but very few of them make it on yearly basis. The truth is bitter.

Please visit their website and be thoroughly informed...not depending on just hearsay.

I can't remember when last I heard that the PCs are at war with one frat or the other because they stand totally out on their own...not emulating anyone.

Joining a particular group remains a personal decision
You can ONLY know better if and ONLY if you "go".

Not soliciting for anyone.
CultureRe: Why Do Nigeria Men Prefer Male Child To Female Child by Chynx(m): 8:32am On Jul 03, 2014
zeongeon: Point of correction its not only an african thing to value male children from the beginning of time every nation, tribe, race and kingdom have always had this value for male children even to a point where they even worship the male reproductive organ (phallus) as a symbol of life, fertility and continuity.

Even in this present age aside africa most people regardless of tribe, race and nation still value the male child just because people have decided to be open minded when it comes to the sex of there kids doesn't mean the value they place on a male child is wearing off.

I think the value on d male child is a natural imprint in d minds of humans because of the values, exploits and capabilities that comes with being a male for example a man was known to be first created, males where kings and where worshipped as gods, males where seen as natural leaders and warriors, males where seen to be d custodians off culture and heritage and where responsible for passing it down.
This is as plain and simple as it can get. This doesn't mean we don't love and cherish our female offsprings.

I doff my hat!

Do a little research on this issue and see what you get. Nature has a stronghold on this topic but man simply tries to neutralise stuff as much as possible.

Take a look outside the "HUMAN" race as an entity of creation. Same applies to virtually every race of creatures. "Nigeria", as you mean, only seems to be too conventional about the issue.

My little penny.
CultureRe: Why Do Nigeria Men Prefer Male Child To Female Child by Chynx(m): 7:42am On Jul 03, 2014
This issue is NOT restricted to Africa alone (@least some of una dey travel na...shuo).

Many of us here will claim to belong to one or two religious entities and still fail to understand that NATURALLY, male dominance/preference has lingered from the word go!...if you study your religious books though.

Male or female, babies are wonderful and the presence of both sex in a home is cool; but the undiluted truth remains. Most people who come here to join the band wagon of "its an African mentality" will not want to be associated with not getting to have a male child...trust me!

African or no African, there is this "happy" state of mind that is associated with having a male child. The slogan, "bouncing baby boy" ain't an African thingy. The natural human instinct will always prevail.

The western world tries to level everything up for everyone to gave a fair share...that does not mean its the norm. Take gay laws into consideration!

He screams at you - Na wahala, He is evil and a bully.
He keeps quiet - Na wahala, He's insensitive and keeps malice.
He stands and look when you abuse him mercilessly- He is mumu and coward, not man enough for you!
He returns your abuse with a stinging slap - Devilish and evil, divorce a potential wife killer.

So it is easier for you to make a resolution not to beg him again rather than to make a resolution not to offend him again?

Take note of this, men have different ways of resolving issues within themselves, whether you beg him or not he needs that time to resolve the issue within himself before he can resolve with you. Men are generally analyst, they need to analyze the impact of that your so called "simple offence" before they can move on, some do it in shorter time and some take longer. Some of you women would intentional repeat a behavior you have been corrected about thinking what it takes is just to say "sorry" and you would now complain he is not accepting your apologies. You can go ahead to stop begging him, when that time comes you would discover that it was easier to beg than to hold a 40 days fasting and prayer in Shiloh or RCCG camp for a failing marriage.
