alj harem: what is the meaning of this
jonathan can not do anything to a northerner
we are superior to jonathan(minority) or any southern ethnic group fact
i read some of u people's post yesterday, and i can help but laugh at the way u southerners show fear!!!!
c'mon it is embarrassing to see fear in my fellow nigerians comment,, what do u thing other countries read this would think
they would think that we are all the same, not knowing that it is u southerners that are cowards and we are superior over southerners
shame on u all From your comment, i'm convinced you're not a kanuri, fulani, hausa,or from the core north period. You may not even be from the north, and if you are, you are most likely from the western part of the middlebelt,if you know what i mean. |

Kobojunkie: Go back, read the post I responded to. I am not here to read your mind. I responded there to an actual post STATING in clear concise language that the South East is the most densely populated area in Africa. If you have a problem with that, go attack the post instead, not I> I love you too . Just want to get a few things clear that's all. I'm not attacking you. |

debosky: Charge Atiku for treason? The people who said that must be morons.
Atiku made a factual comment - if peaceful revolution is stymied, the only option is violence. This simply means that no one should attempt to subvert the will of the people.
If GEJ feels threatened by this, he must be suffering from guilty conscience.
If GEJ has the cojones, let him charge Atiku, but we all know he can't. Reread his comment buddy. Also, he has made other comments as such that they have records on, so ummm i think they have a case. |

1025: if the likes of chris uba who chased a sitting gov out his state and adedibu who made life unbearable in oyo state were not charged for treason, why will atiku be charged for same in expressing his view on the fraudulent manner with which obasanjo and GEJ and running the affairs of nigeria like their private companies. all these are designed to distract atiku as was the case in 2007 when obasanjo and ribadu indicted atiku only to over-look the matter on confirming the yar adua has been made president. without atiku saying it, nigerians are aware that obasanjo and co will not remain above law in nigeria. war! war!! war!!! is likely going to be the end point to all these shits. Different administration. This president is choosing to actually enforce the law against treason. You have a pretty dumb argument. |

marcdunu: He is the party leader.
If he can not respect the rules under which he became party leader, let him quit PDP. That is the sensible thing to do.
This will not prevent him from continuing as the President of Nigeria.
It just simply means PDP can not sponsor him at the next election. That is the fair and moral thing to do. The moral burden will be on Jonathan if Nigeria goes in flames after elections. He simply refused to respect the rules he rode to power, that is the source of the crisis. And who is Okwesilieze Nwodo? |

Kobojunkie: uumm . . . . in that second paragraph, the author MAKES NO ABSOLUTE CLAIMS of such being the case. He posits that it is PROBABLY the case, but definitely does not state that it is DEFINITELY the case. And the subject address is not the South-East itself but the people (Ibos) living in the south east. The South East is most definitely not the most densely populated region in West Africa, let alone Africa.
ie. B NOT EQUAL A and so A IS NOT B We were never talking about the SE in the first place, we were talking about Igboland. Can you name an ethnic land in nigeria more densely populated? Also to your claim made here " The South East is most definitely not the most densely populated region in West Africa, let alone Africa", when you said SE did you mean "Igboland"? |

Dede1: I do not care what Ohanaeze does because I am not a member of the political party. As of what you referred as “majority of other Igbo supporting of GEJ” is quantitatively irrelevance as regards the polity in Nigeria. Whatever northern region of Nigeria did with Yar Adua based on the PDP’s constitutional stipulation about zoning formula remains northern region’s political trophy. I am still at lost what political intuition that spurred GEJ to pick Sambo as VP instead a fellow from either south or so-called south-south. Politics is a game fraught with intrigues and unwelcome pattern of unparallel inconsistency. Even when the political pendulum swings to the south by obeying the PDP 7-2C, there should be politics to be hashed out. But the issue of GEJ and the ill-educated support of GEJ by the so-called Ohanaeze are not setting a landmark of political precedence to encourage any political trust. Why the hell would GEJ pict someone from the south, in a critical time like this?Lol. F*ck trust, its only about interest. There is nothing like "friends" in politics. Once Igbo recognize this then the roads will become smoother(literally and figuratively ). |

well, thats why i vote vote for ACN and i would encourage all good nigerians that are tired of PDP to do the same. how can a cabal determine the future of this country and yet you want to vote for them? ITS TIME FOR CHANGE!!! And if GEJ doesn't win the primary and decamps, who then will you vote for? |
Politics › Re: North Will Determine Who Wins Pdp Presidential Ticket – Nnamani ! by chyz(m): 8:26pm On Dec 16, 2010 |
marcdunu: Democracy and Politics are games only grown ups can play.
One day Chyz is encouraging GEJ to single-handedly correct all the ills in the South-East for him, another day he wants GEJ to correct census figures, sounds to me like he is asking GEJ to make up the numbers.
Why he does not also consider the fact that one day GEJ will leave office and the next President's priority if he happens to come from the North will be to re-correct GEJ's correction. What do we have, a case of every Government playing politics with serious issues like Census figures.
What we need is a long term solution of Nigeria's problems not the kind of justice that can only survive the life of one President.
So if you have zoning, there is no need to lie about census figures in order to rig elections because power will definitely come to your region anyway. If we have true Fedralism where every zone is self sufficient, there is no need to lie about census figures anyway because since your zone no longer depends on allocation from the centre then no need to forge census figures because anybody doing so will be decieving themselves.
If we have devolution of power and State policing, then policing policies will be based on local needs not demons who get posted to other parts of the country to molest Nigerians.
These are Policies IBB stood for, these are policies Soludo has called for, these are policies Atiku will stand for. Has Jonathan had the courage to tell us where he stands on any of these issues? NO. He is afraid, all he wants is to win elections. On a week when the CBN Governor talked about waste in Government due to NASS overhead. where is Jonathan's leadership on that issue? None!!! Rather what we got is a record hike in Budget to over 4 trillion.
Jonathan's solution to everything is to even spend more without accounting for his previous expenditures. Trust me only illiterates will support Jonathan, only minority fools will follow Jonathan and dump zoning. He is not the President Nigeria needs at this time.
He clearly can not be the legitimate candidate of PDP. He is not good enough for the nation to extend his time in office by 1 minute.
Nnamani, may seem like Uncle Tom in your eyes but he knows what he is doing, so do the likes of Ekwueme, Soludo, Kalu Idika Kalu, prof AB Nwosu.
Jonathan will only lead his illiterate followers into a pit. I fight this hilarious, "These are Policies IBB stood for, these are policies Soludo has called for, these are policies Atiku will stand for." The policies IBB stood for screwed up our economy. If these are the same policies the two drags believe in then they might as well sit down and stay put. Both IBB and Atiku threatened the lives of people the swore to protect is president and you think we'd just fold our hands and accept people like that? Hilarious. These same Igbo dudes have been wining and dining with the northerners yet yet we are to have a 6th or 7th state. We igbo from delta have been asking for our own state since 1951 yet we aren't allowed. Do you think an Atiku is going to allow us to cede to the SE + add an additional state made out of the southeast to make the amount of states egual? I think not. The Enugu International Airport just started its services today.Phase 2 to finally seal the deal of completion will be in june.Do you thing Atiku will not scuttle that and ultimately try and have the airport dismantled? I think so. I will there be more of a chance of the Niger bridge getting built with an Atiku presidency or GEJ? i think GEJ, and im pretty sure the northerners think that also. Bros, there are far more reason why we igbo would choose GEJ over IBB or Atiku. There are none for IBB or Atiku. What should my reason be for voting them, an Igbo president? Look let me make this clear, I don't care about that. You say all GEJ wants to do is win elections,is that not what IBB and Atiku want to do lol? After he wins the election then he can be comfortable and make the move that you've accused him of being afraid to make. |

Dede1: Democracy is not only a game of numbers but trust. With trust, the participants can build consensus among themselves. Block-headed GEJ has broken whatever element of political trust knitted by PDP. Dede1 do you actually think ohanaeze and majority of other igbo be supporting GEJ if trust wasn't broken before(by the northerners)? Lets build trust after records are corrected. The northerners got themselves into this situation by rigging in yaradua, so that's their problem. |

POWER PRIVATISATION: February 18, deadline for EoIs
News Dec 16, 2010 By Clara Nwachukwu Federal Government has fixed Friday, February18, 2011, as the deadline for the receipt of applications in respect of the purchase of power distribution and generating companies that are being put on sale. The deadline follows the call for the Expression of Interests, EoIs, by prospective core investors by the Bureau of Public Enterprises, BPE, in a statement issued on Sunday, in line with efforts to deregulate the nation’s power sector, which has been under the monopoly of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, even as BPE reassures that the exercise will be fool proof. Transparency concerns In another statement, Wednesday, by the BPE spokesman, Chukwuma Nwokoh, the Bureau said: “In view of the disingenuous campaign by the electricity unions against the privatisation agency, we reiterate that our transaction processes are above board. “Our obsession for transparency and integrity are manifest in the selection of the transaction advisers for the successor companies and adverts calling for applications from prospective core investors for the companies.” The BPE made the declaration following allegations by the National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE, that the BPE will sell the companies unbundled out of the PHCN to “friends of the government,” thereby calling out its members to a national rally against privatisation today. Apart from the NUEE reservations on the transparency of the exercise, other concerned groups in a text message also alleged of deliberate ploy to sell the power companies to friends of government. The message accused the Presidency and the Ministry of Power of deliberate cover up of contracts for power projects that were not properly executed. Among those cited are contracts for the 330/132KV Power Transmission lines and associated power substations in Umuahia and its environs; the supply of HV line restoration Towers for PHCN; the supply of power and distribution transformers by contractors, even under the National Elecetric Power Authority, NEPA, which were never executed. Transaction advisers Defending the choice of the CPCS Transcom consortium, as transaction advisers, in response to the strike by NUEE, BPE said: “CPCS consortium emerged as transaction advisers through a keenly contested procurement process involving leading international infrastructure transaction advisers. Members of the CPCS-led Consortium include CPCS which specialises in the power/energy, transportation and urban infrastructure sectors. “In investment banking, they have Taylor-DeJongh; CPCS Transcom; Ecobank and Castalia Strategic Advisors. For legal work stream, there are Herbert Smith; Adepetun, Caxton-Martins, Agbor & Segun; Benchmac & Ince; and CPCS Transcom. For technical work, they have SNC- Lavalin and Mono Tech Input Limited. On economics/finance work, they have CPCS and Castalia Strategic Advisors. KOO Partners will undertake accounting work. “It would be recalled that the process of engaging consultants was through Quality and Cost-Based Selection, QCBS, method. 10 firms were invited to express interest in receiving Requests for Proposal, RFP, to form consortia as transaction advisers. They were UBA; Stanbic-IBTC; Standard Chartered Bank; African Finance Corporation, AFC; Goldman Sachs; and Lazard Frères. Others were IPA Energy + Water Economics; CPCS Transcom; JP Morgan Stanley; and Rothschild.” Companies on offer In the earlier statement, BPE said it had called for EoIs in the 11 distribution companies unbundled from the PHCN, in paid advertisements in both local and foreign media. Among the distribution companies on offer are: 1. Abuja Electricity Distribution Company Plc; 2. Benin Electricity Distribution Company Plc; 3. Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Plc; 4. Eko Electricity Distribution Company Plc; 5. Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc; 6. Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company Plc; 7. Jos Electricity Distribution Company Plc; 8. Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company Plc; 9. Kano Electricity Distribution Company Plc; 10. Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company Plc; and 11. Yola Electricity Distribution Company Plc. In addition to the distribution companies, BPE is also calling for EoIs interests in some thermal power stations as well as for concessionaires for some hydro-power stations through international competitive. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/12/power-privatisation-february-18-deadline-for-eois/ |

strangerf: ^^^
Go back and read the TELL magazine that was published after the 2003 PDP primaries on how the presidential primary was won and lost
They offered the post to the Yoruba for 8 years, reason why ANPP also fielded a Yoruba man, Falae, as well in 2003
Now I do agree that Ekwueme contested in 2003, he only did that because of his stubborness. Okadigbo and other Igbos never supported Ekwueme's candidature for obvious reasons, not because he wasnt competent, as a matter of fact he was the best candidate in 2003. Too bad he belongs to the PDP.
GEJ is just being stupit. His actions would make it harder for future Ssoutherner politicians. And Ohaneze coming out to support GEJ is just foolish and risky. If the SE is not careful, they might lose out in 2015, and may lose to a Yoruba in 2019 as well. This is a PDP affair.just because gej stays past 2011 doesnt mean an igbo or yoruba cant become president.however, in order for gej to keep shyt in the south i suggest he gets the population and ethnic numbers(census) corrected to prevent the north from lying with fake figures of votes. |

strangerf: So far there is no problem
OBJ, and by extension the Yoruba, was supposed to spend 8 yrs, which he did successfully.
Yaradau was also supposed to spend another 8 yrs, but he died, and to prevent a heated polity, an Ijaw man was alllowed to become the president. However, to our surprise, it seems the Ijaw man is unwilling to handover as expected, hence the hullaballoo about ZONING.
The problem here is GEJ, hopefully he would come back to his senses. Untill we know the PDP nominee for 2011, so far so good!
So an Hausaman is supposed to spend 8 yrs as well, after which power would be transferred to the Igbos. So far we are still on course, as long as GEJ handovers to ATiku. Then the Igbos can spend their own 8 yrs however they want. Wrong, they said OBJ was suppose to only spend 4 years in presidency but he outsmarted them and rigged himself in for an additional 4 years so in actuality their(term) is up by 2011.Nnamani is dumb if he thinks those northerners all wont decamp befor 2015 lol. |
