Ibos, as usual, ran to police and whined that Yorubas were getting ready to kill them off and to come out and stop the bloodshed. If you are true bravehearts, why did you run to go get police? Why not allow the whole thing to go down and see if thousands of you dont follow Ojukwu home.
I like how you tried to insert a fake line/sentence. Y'all got served. cool

First the Fulani, now the Igbo. Maybe you people need to learn some repsect.  OPC need to be scrapped. They are nothing but drunkards who go around extorting money from and killing innocent people. The sad thing is the the sw governments are supporting them.

OPC member kills Etisalat employee over N10 toll

February 29, 2012 by Eniola Akinkuotu 132 Comments

A suspected member of the Odua Peoples Congress known by the pseudonym “Ultimate” on Monday allegedly killed an employee of Etisalat, Chukwuma Eze, in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State during an argument over N10 toll.

PUNCH Metro learnt that N10 toll was collected by the OPC members at a footbridge that links Ejigbo with Ajao Estate.

It was gathered that the deceased told the collectors that he had only N1, 000 denominations with him and offered it to one of the collectors who asked him to come back for his balance.

Eze was said to have agreed but was shocked when on his return a female member of the group insisted that the deceased did not give N1,000 to the collectors.

The   telecoms employee was said to have been angered by the denial resulting in a fight between him and the female member of the group.

Sensing that the female member of the group could not match Eze’s strength, “Ultimate,” was said to have brought out an object suspected to be charm and hit the telecoms employee with it on the chest.

Eze, who is to marry in April, reportedly slumped and died on the spot.

It was learnt that immediately words filtered in that Eze had died, his kinsmen in the area carried out a reprisal and attacked some members of the OPC found at the footbridge.

A source told PUNCH Metro that in the ensuing pandemonium, a member of the OPC was also killed, while some motorcycles and a generator belonging to members of the group were vandalised.

The spokesperson for the state police command, Mr. Joseph Jaiyeoba, who spoke to our correspondent on the telephone confirmed the incident but said facts about the incident were still sketchy.

He  said, “One   Chukwuma Eze was allegedly killed by some people collecting money at a footbridge but we cannot say for sure if the collectors are members of the OPC or the local government revenue collectors.

“The incident caused a stir as some friends of the deceased confronted and fought with the suspects.

“The details of what exactly transpired are still sketchy because the incident occurred at night but another corpse, identified as one Sumonu, was also found at Ajao Estate later. We (Police) do not know if his death is related to Eze’s killing.”

A Human being was mistakenly killed. A human being who was in church like the other thousands and didn't know those worshiping right there with him would in only a matter of minutes turn to club him to death so people like you can come online to poke fun with the story. Have a heart please!!

If your own children/siblings were to witness your murder by the same church people they have probably trusted for years, do you think they will turn to God to praise him for it?
Pains you huh? wink

I wish you could react like this when the same type of killings were happening to Igbos.

Well, I will say this. The number seems more plausible than Ohaneze's claim of evacuating more than 500,000. I mean to think such a lazy Organization has had the resources to do such but never thought to maybe invest it in massively improving life for at least 100,000 people who already live in one of the many eastern states.
Ohanaeze Ndiara were and still are against Igbos leaving the north. They evacuated no one talkless of bring forth a bus.haba!

From an Igala friend.

Let me tell you a story. The name Oduduwa in Igala means the Lord brought him. Oduduwa was discovered in some part of Igalaland (now in modern day Omala local govt) by Igala hunters who went hunting from Idah. These hunters captured oduduwa and brought him to the Attah of Igala. He (Oduduwa) was later released and resettled at Omala. Oduduwa was such a neat man that his environment became the neatest in the whole of Igala land. This place was later named Abejukolo-Ife (Ife means neat in Igala). According to the story, the gods rewarded his cleanliness by directing him to a new land which was more fertile and had a better vegetation than Abejukolo-Ife. His discovery of this new land was viewed as d reward for his cleanliness. The new land was named ILE-IFE (meaning gains/profit of neatness)

ODUDUWA- THE IGALA ORIGIN

If you ask any elderly person in Igala land for the meaning of “Oduduwa” they tell you it means “He was brought by God” thus supporting the Yoruba myth that Oduduwa dropped from the sky but the Igala oral tradition has it that he was a Benin Prince who lost his right to the throne and crossed the river Niger to Igala land. He was found wondering in the bush by Igala hunters and brought to the Attah who couldn’t establish his origin as Oduduwa refuced to do so. Attah passed a verdict that he should be allowed to stay and called him “Ene k ondu du wa” meaning “the one brought by God”.

Oduduwa founded “Ife” in the present day Omala Local Government, he married and had many children for he exclaimed “Ola mi fe todu le ojo gbu mi” meaning “I am clean that is why God saved me”.
Oduduwa learned the language and spoke it with his wives and children. As a prince from Benin even in a foreign land, he still yearned for a royal role which he could not achieve in Igala land thus he migrated westwards to establish his own dynasty and dwelt in present day “Ile Ife” in Osun State.

Later on in Igala history, his descendants still wanted a royal role thus they tried taking the Attahship by force many times and many times they failed thus their titled “Ojogba” in reference to God’s intervention if not they would have because the Attah. The “Ojogba” is the only Igala Chief that does not bow to the Attah.

The Yoruba myth of a man from the heaven’s should be thrown out as it was propagated by Europeans and early Yoruba scholars. As various Igala scholars got more information on Igala history, especially from oral traditions, the story of Oduduwa’s Igala origin is beginning to come to light.

According to anthropologist, migration does not take place from the south to the north so the Yoruba’s can never be the parent stock of the Igala nation as early scholars propagated, it should be the other way round.

Why should I open my opened eyes? smiley
I will pretend I didn't find it irritating, therefore irrespective of what we think or how fishy the offer may seem, it's an intelligent move by the igalla peeps and should be upheld but it's left for the interested Igbos to embrace the offer which to me would be suicidal.

Btw, why didn't you quote me on the side I advised against it? cool
My fault bro, after reading the first line(Kudos to the Igala people) and reading the nonsense that some Igbos are saying on here I lost my mind and didnt want to read any further.

Bandit C.:
I love the Igala people. My Grandmother and my mom both speak flawless Igala. Though my Grandmother is from Awka, she was born and raised among the Igalas. She regards the Igala homeland as her second home and in her later days, always dreamt of going back there to mingle with the people once again.

I would never regard the Igalas and Idomas as enemies, even if they were to put a knife to my throat. We have well enough history together to see ourselves as enemies. So to my fellow Igbos, when you speak ill and make jest of other people who are closely related to us Igbos, be careful what you say and be respectful because this is a public forum and through the words of our mouth, they make get a wrong impression on how we think about and perceive them.

An offer is made, which i believe is in earnest, but if your are not interested in it, politely reject it and do not ridicule the people based on what you believe their innermost intentions may be.
Close relations means nothing. They sure didn't remember blood during the civil and sure as hell dont remember when it comes to politics.

noiseless:
I'm sure our Igala brothers/sisters would count the number of those who applied emotions in their comments here due to some very unfortunate experiences in the past and on going in the nation, then compare the population of the igbo nation and they will see that those who see it as not so good idear will surely see it as a welcome development once they sit down and drink some cool water. Given the fact that igalas have always been a part of us and us a part of them,we have been living with our igala brothers/sisters in igboland without discrimination or war or even knowing who is igala or igbo, and our igala brothers in anambra have equally contribute to the development in anambra and nigeria as well, think about men like the legendary emma and his late brother patrick okala and many more who served alaigbo with all their strength, and the igalas are very hard working so anyone who thinks or says orderwise should please think again or perhaps he/she does not know the real igalas, only fake internet igalas just like the fake internet igbos lol! Also the gesture is encouraging, but like someone suggested let there be some sort of agreement just for reference. FINALLY A MASSIVE DALU (THANK YOU) TO THE ATTAH OF IGALA THIS GESTURE MEANS ALOT AND WILL GO DOWN TO HISTORY.

Kudos to the igala people, though the facts remain that ''someone that had been stung by bee dreads flies'' and should not be blamed for that.

And I tell ya, I'd rather spend billions buying land in USA than to take any free of charge from any state in Nigeria, outside my town or Village. ofcourse would take from any state in Igbo land but must be backed up with papers.
They are calling the Igbos to come develop the lands not keep it as their own. Kudos for what? Open your eyes.

How does a compulsory course in entrepreneurship help anything? Nigerians are already business minded. Another thing is that education is not the problem, the problem is the lack of jobs. After the education, then what's next? That is the problem.

Andre Uweh:
Mrs Ojukwu should note that the same Ohanaeze U.K chapter that was with them from arrival till the death of Ikemba is part of the general Ohanaeze. Some of this U.K chapter of Ohanaeze members are top medical consultants in the U.K and in one way or the other contributed to the care and wellbeing of Ikemba.
Probably, she did not say so.
Don't make me laugh, in fact, make me laugh so that i dont get angry. Stop defending these political touts. They are the first ones at the dining table when goodluck jonathan is in trouble but not one of them came to see the Ikemba when in the hospital. They have no more relevance in Igboland and that is a fact! No National President  or VP of Ohanaeze, not even the Secretary came to pay their respects. And please, dont give us that UK chapter nonsense. That was their last straw
