Said it before, my children are not leaving home until their second year in college. |
@op There must be some mix up somewhere because quite a good number of muslims believe the opposite of your explanation of islam. Besides this your meaning of Jihad may sell well in America and Japan, but to an igbo man living in Northern Nigeria who has seen muslims slaughter his kinsmen for no reason while praising Allah, your post is baloney |
Has anyone noticed that this man has never made one meaningful contribution since he became deputy senate president? |
Still thinking, I will be very, very happy to miss a lot of things |
This video must have been shot before Bisola Johnson left TB Joshua. I remember her referring to the confession videos they were convinced to make while under TB Joshua. Also compare both videos and you will only see a more mature Bisola in the deception video they made to expose TB Joshua So you did not discover anything new. |
No matter the bombs she remains our First Lady, or should I rightly say the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the closest ya'll can get to her is to diss her anonymously. |
My children will school from home until their second year in the University |
@op If you are genuinely wanting to get sound, scriptural advice Nairaland is the last place you want to ask. You will receive all manner here based on logic, atheism, Rotary clubs 4 way test and even Muslims. Even Anti Christs are here. You are obviously from a tithe paying church, don't you have christian brothers and sisters? mentors that could advice you? TITHING IS NOT BY FORCE, you are not under obligation to pay tithes and it is not the bases for salvation, and our God is not some beggar that is all out to get your money. He knows this person is in need and He can provide for this person with or without you, and He will not allow you to go through this 'temptation'. He will rather send help to this needy person through other source than to send you and instigate a debate as we are having now. Besides, if God is sending you to give your tithe to the family, you do not need man's validation. Tithing is one of God's channels for prosperity and protection available to the believer and just like every other channel, it is engaged in faith. If you are the member of any church, you pay to that local church where God has commanded blessings for you and where you are nourished spiritually. Then after you pay your tithe, it is no longer your business what the church does with it, your concern should be that you have tithed in faith and that there are blessings attached to it. If for any reason you can't take paying your tithes there, then you are free to move to another church where you are more comfortable. If you do not want to move, THEN STOP PAYING TITHE and like someone wrote here, start helpimng the needy, which is also a channel for God's blessing but cannot be compared to tithing. Your tithe is different from your giving to the needy, you don't mix up the two. The hesitation you are experiencing in giving the family your tithe may be a sign that you need to pay attention to, not on Nairaland though. Note that every thing God asks you to do is for your blessing, not to bless Him, He is the All-Sufficient One. Now if the money is 'God's Money' as you wrote then it is best to give it to God and your local church is the best avenue. |
You want sincere advice? Your tithe must always go to your local church, it is not for assisting anybody no matter how serious their case is. Your tithe has to be consistent. |
Couple of years ago I sought to buy a car through some banks based on the adverts they put on the newspaper and I discovered that: 1. The adverts are largely misleading, in short they are pure unadulterated lies. You will get an entirely different story the moment you step in there. One of the banks had advertised that you do not need to have an account with them, just provide all they are asking you to, but when I got there they said I am not eligible, I pointed out that the advert said having an account is not necessary, but the lady ignored me. This is in addition to the fact that by the time you are shown the terms and conditions, you will disqualify yourself before they tell you you are not qualified. 2. I am not a financial person but by the time the amortization was explained to me I detected fraud in most cases. My conclusion is the conditions of buying a car through the banks makes saving for the car look like a piece of cake, and if you finally do buy the car, talk to someone who understands the tricks the banks use to monitor your loan repayment or else you will repay what you rightly owe plus much more. Here in Nigeria if you have good income that can assist you pay back the loan without stress and you are ready to put up with unprofessional Nigerian bankers then buy through the bank, otherwise buy with your cash and have fun. As for asset or liability that is immaterial, what matters is do you need a car? Can you maintain the car? |
Good move, now they should worry about security, not light. |
It is good news indeed. I wish you all the best. I'm also glad you value the Mrs title, it is a title of honor: keep it that way. |
@op Just saw this thread, is it a joke or are you serious? |
If you enjoying light where ever you are it is because nepa is denying us light to give you light as we have not had light for a couple of days now. So don't be carried away, they will soon ration it back to us. |
pidgin english distorts 'posh' english (never heard of 'posh' english before but it sounds cool) |
@freecocoa sorry |
blackpanda:On the contrary my children will be well grounded. In your case your parents are to blame 'cos I've seen children who grew up abroad and have no problem with their Nigerian language because their parents made it a point to always converse in their native language at home since the children will definitely interact in english out side the home. But my point is not that our native language or pidgin english is bad, I'm just saying children will better be relevant having a good grasp of english than pidgin or vernacular. I am also saying that too much of pidgin and vernacular may affect they having a good command of the english language especially in Nigeria where 'I will tell my daddy for you' has become standard english. I also implied that giving a choice of them speaking English and any other language I would prefer them speaking english, spanish and french. These languages are more relevant for global business and interactions. |
Tam David West is just looking for some little publicity at least to let us know he is still around. |
Kobojunkie:Don't join issues with the guy, he said he is a baby lawyer, or should I say a 'fetus' lawyer |
freecocoa:Are you serious? That's uncool. I can imagine millions of perverts all over the world feasting on this video and thanks the cursed Nigerian animals for it. Those boys and their parents will never escape judgement no matter who they are. They will go the way of Abacha and worst still. |
That girl was r.aped. Any male that thinks otherwise is a r.apist, a violator Any female that thinks otherwise is a victim and needs help fast |
Any language in the world that will last for long must have relevant product, service or some value that it is attached to represents. Now with the world becoming a global community, the product, service or value must have global appeal and relevance. I love my native language, infact I love igbo, hausa and yoruba. Yoruba language particularly will go far because it is more advanced than igbo and hausa and yoruba scholars are fighting hard to sustain it, pidgin english will go far too. However, if we still got 100 hundred years than the line, what do you think will become of these native languages? Besides I like to see my children speak very correct english. They can survive without speaking pidgin english or my native tongue, but can they ever be relevant with speaking correct english looking to the future? |
@blackpanda, My sister or my brother, Like it or not english is taking it over, followed by spanish and french and that is why some Nigerians are talking about protecting our indigenous languages. A thing that is not threatened does not need protection. However, I do not hate our languages, but we have not succeeded in exporting them, we are deep into importing other languages as we constantly depend on the west for virtually everything. I want my children to be relevant in global environment and not in Nigeria alone, and communication is key. And sorry to rattle you, the culture and tradition you referred are gradually dying. |
@Delafruita We all know how this things happen here, so the chances that it is politically motivated is very high, it is also possible some individual offended by the man's wealth or has issues with him may be fueling it, But I am saying did he violate any law? We know that all of them are corrupt but if their witch-hunting each other will expose corruption for what it is in Nigeria, then let it go on. So did he commit? |
I find it is way too easy for people with very sound command of the english language to adapt in areas where they have to communicate with pidgin english, but if you master pidgin english at the expense of correct english and you grow with it, that becomes a problem then? Besides I personally think that it benefits my children to master the english language well because there is no emotion or thought that cannot be perfectly expressed in english, but this is the exclusive preserve of those who understand the fundamental, correct structure of the english language. I have found also that for us in Nigeria, the chances of our children picking our vernacular is very high because they are always going to hear it. Having a great command of english may not necessarily give them an advantage but it sure adds to their self esteem besides making their communication in a world that is globalizing rapidly stress free. And there is this cool thing about a nigeria child who has that command of the english language, such children are a joy to listen to |
The question is does this man have dozens of accounts in violation of code of conduct for political office holders, not whether he is a member of PDP, ACN or AIDS. Whether his trial is politically motivated or not, let him be given fair trial and be jailed fairly. |
Demdem:Agreed! |
No pidgin english No native language It's english first Maybe french second Spanish third |
I'm very glad to know you have received healing and have moved on. It is terrible where we are headed, See all the headlines? The signs don't look good at all. your story is just one among millions of such wickedness all over the world, human beings happy to satisfy their wicked desires at the expense of some other persons pain. It is not different from what our politicians are doing, their level of lying and cheating is humongous, of very indescribable proportions. Now teenagers and young adults have followed suit and the society adequately protects and caters for these deviant behaviors. I have read in newspapers of teenagers asking questions about their sexual relationships and getting answers from the so called aunties, instead of their immoral behaviors being condemned. Now there are so many children born without sound parental guidance. Now 'stealing' of human beings in form of kidnap seems to have been accepted by our leaders as part of the characteristics of a developing nation. Today I read Tonto Dike say she is misunderstood by the 'unexposed' meaning only the unexposed misunderstand her lifestyle of indiscipline. So it is common to see people refusing to condemn evil because they want to sound exposed. We are living in a time of unimaginable immorality, heartless criminality, blatant lies by both old and young, satisfaction of dark desires at all cost, lack of value for human life, fathers and mothers bereft of truth, decency and wisdom, all manner of desecration and lawlessness. People are stacking ill-gotten wealth for the future and championing the freedom of anyone who is living in self destruction to do so as of right. I wonder if there will be any future. The sshit is hitting the fan already and we seem to be reaping the dividends of years of disobedience by the old who bequeathed it on the young, who will in turn leave it as a legacy for those after them. The exuberance of youth will not see the dangers, but the calmness of the old may see it, but in regret as the past their wasted in disobedience and selfishness. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT A TIME WILL COME AND NOW IS, WHEN THE MAJORITY WILL REALIZE THAT EVERY KNOWN INSTITUTION HAS FAILED. NOW THEY WILL TURN TO THE WORD OF GOD AND REALIZE ONLY ESCAPE IS IN JESUS CHRIST. |
BetaThings:Thank you so much for a wise post, especially the bolded. We all also need to stop trying to play detective. The pictures going around now i understand are the guys that were supposedAre you serious? They were trying to help with their facebook accounts and picture? |
I should be asking you based on your crime tv experience. Would the police on crime tv ignore that kind of video and label it 'hoax'? |
It is common knowledge that very few females report rape, so for the police to go checking through their records for any such entry is at best laughable. Now get this, whether it was ABSU or elswhere, whether it was last week or last month the fact of the matter is that there was a rape that was caught on camera and the criminals made the mistake of doing that, the authorities must get to the bottom of this matter and those animals must be brought to justice. I dare say that the curses I have read heaped on this guys will do just that should the authorities fail. I am not sure I know the meaning of 'hoax' and I am reluctant to look it up, but based on what I have gleaned so far hoax could mean fake or not real and I maintain the video is very far from that. You 20,000 hours of crime tv failed. |
