Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by CimonJorr(m): 6:44pm On Jan 17, 2006
Just got a message from a fellow Nairalander on the music we used to jamm to back in the '80s..

Could anyone please let us know their personal favourites..

Cameo was one of mine.. Also, Alex O'Neal.. I saw him on the tv at the Miss World Beauty Peagant (the one done in China).. Da guy still the BOMB, crooning away with those special melodies.. he performed "Criticize" and "If you were with me now.." (I hope that's the name of the song)..

Another one that comes to mind is "Dial My Heart" by the Boyz.. And "Roses are Red" by the Mac Band..

Waiting..  smiley

Do you now see why we insist that we have a place where we can be spared the harrassment of these uncouth remarks and statements..  shocked

Respect begets respect.. A while ago, you started a thread where you asked if you being a lesbian made you a bad person.. And a certain contributer to that thread alleged that peoples perceptions of you on Nairaland were formed more as a result of your attitude and behavior to other nairalanders, rather than their views on your sexual orientation.. I guess that person's statement has been vindicated by your actions.. Have you ever heard of the statement that respect is earned?? This kind of uncouth statements do nothing to earn you the respect that you craved for when asking about fellow Nairalanders opinions of you in the other post u raised..

And making statements like "Bro get that stick of your ***" (I guess you meant to say ass, right?? huh) do nothing to help your position.. they dont portray you in any reasonable light, and do not enhance they way people will percieve you on Nairaland..

Freewilly:
Web Forum, chat room, call it what ever you want dude...........Bro get that stick of your *** and have fun for a change ok. Oh my bad you too old to have fun.
ps... And lest I forget, chat rooms abound all over the internet.. this is a Web Forum.. where people come to exchange ideas, thoughts, philosophies, beliefs, and all what not.. AND have fun while doing so..
If you wish to go to the chat room section, be my guest, but note that this isn't it..  tongue

Sorry dear...

But there is a difference between a WEB FORUM and a chat room.. And this is the former.. Hence we should abide by it's tennets (rules & regulations)..  tongue

Freewilly:
Girl friend, I'm cool and I act my age thank you. This is a freaking chat room dear I don't have to impress you or any one so there.
Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by CimonJorr(m): 7:48pm On Jan 16, 2006
well.... that's another option..  rolleyes

But wouldnt that keep you kinda busy, considering how big this forum has grown.. I'd guess you'd have had your hands about full by now.. what happened to that emailing group you started.. looks to me like it kinda fizzled out..  sad

Seun:
If you start a topic and you only want older members to reply, you can say something like "30 somethings only please" and this will give me anough excuse to delete posts from members under 30.

When I read through all the comments on this thread, I smile..  grin

I smile when I remember all the intemperate comments I read from different Nairaland posters.. (most of them from the younger generation)..

I smile when I refer to a song that was a hit in the 80's and someone goes like "I've never heard that song before, or of that artist for that matter"..

I smile when I read posts from the "young-ones" who feel they know it all..

I smile when I see posts on some topics which are shorter than 2-3 words, and I wonder why the person even bothered to comment on a topic (maybe as a Nairalander once said: "to get the post count up".. ) [whether quality or quantity is better, time will tell...]

I smile when I come across some posts, written in only God knows what, with the author being under the impression that they are using slang words or "Ebonics.. (like as if the purpose of writing/posting stuff on this forum isn't for public consumption and for people to generally read and understand.. I hope they remember that communication is the essence of making posts..)

The truth is, I smile a lot these days.. shake my head in abandonment, and wonder why it took so long for someone to come out with this brilliant idea..  grin grin grin

As they say "Go On Soun ! ! ! "...

ps.. Does anyone here remember when Cameo was the bomb in R&B?? huh  grin grin

These are the kind of statements which make me wonder about the person making them.. angry

Firstly, what gives you the impression that in this modern era, housewives are dependent (by this I guess you must mean financial dependence) on their spouses?.. Most housewives have jobs (working wives) or shops or some cottage business to generate their own income...

Secondly, what gives working married women the sole exclusivity to cheat on their husbands?.. or haven't you heard of cheating house wives, both those that were married as virgins and those that weren't...

Better look for more cogent facts to base your decisions on, rather than misinformation... tongue

elpaso:
yeah as bedone said. a misunderstanding with her husband and she will end up sleeping with someone else. thats y i would marry a virgin. my personal view is that, when a woman works, she isnt dependant on her husband, she can sleep with someone else just for having a shag. whereas a housewife would be scared to do that. all those people who had her **** in her mouth. but as you people say, every woman is different but let me tell u its much harder to find a woman of faith nowdays after what i mentioned , than at the past.
RomanceRe: Can You Marry A Prostitute? by CimonJorr(m): 7:04am On Jan 09, 2006
@ Pendelite

... meaning that by inference from what you've written, that prostitutes should never get married, since they will always revert to their former disposition?? huh

If I've interpreted your former submission, then I must say I strongly disagree....

Habits and tendencies can be changed..

This is FALLACY of the highest order.. On so many counts I don't even know where to start... angry

But let's begin here..  tongue

how can a girl who lost her virginity to a person she does not love understand passion of love with whom she ends up with

For your information, people who loose thier virginity do not do it with people they do not love, but with people with whom they are in love at that particular moment in time..  tongue

It would be interesting to know why you feel otherwise..  tongue tongue

She has had it with several people and finanly meets her husband, any miss understanding sexually she will sleep with someone else.

Marriage is not just a union, it is a convenant... hence, there are deeper levels to their union than you profess to understand.. One does not go around sleeping with other people in the advent of misunderstandings, especially ones of a sexual nature.. In marriage one seeks other avenues to obtain solutions to the problems.. unless one is tired of the marriage...

Isn't prostitution "COMMERCIAL SEX"... tongue

dablessed:
Haba guys! Why una de run? Who is a prostitute by the way? Tell me.

Its interesting to know that a lot of guys don't want to marry a prostitute. Truth of the matter is: there are many male prostitutes out there and yet, they don't want to marry their female counterparts.

If you are sleeping with a woman you are not married to, then you are a prostitute.

Bro.. sorry to digress a bit,

But in you other post, the subject was that your babe liked sex too much (everyday to quote your words)..

Now, you asking if one can marry a "Commercial Sex Worker"... huh

Should we connect the dots?? huh huh
