DavidD...

"our attitude has always remained the reason nigeria has failed to progress over the years."

True.. but would you or wouldn't you say that there has been a steady improvement over the past couple of years... ?? huh

how many of those foreigners are economic refugees here? how many of them have adopted nigerian citizenship?

You'd really be suprised.. Do a little bit of research.. the results might impress you..

nigerians abroad are mainly economic refugees and illegal residents!

.. Now this is a fallacy of the highest order.. I don't know why you have this impression; but please.. it's not true..  If you want some facts, just contact the various Nigerian cultural groups worldwide, even in the US where u live.. We can't allow a few bad apples spoil the whole bunch..

please in the socalled countries were the standard is adjudged to be higher, please might i ask WHY their standard is that high and ours is low? are they from mars? do they have three heads?
when are we going to function at the same standard? in 400 years time at this rate?

Please, if I may ask.. How old is Nigeria as a country?.. How old are these countries we are referring to ??.. Did they get to their present state over nighthuh... If such countries were to perform to the standard which Nigeria performs at presently, wouldn't you definitely say that something is wrong somewherehuh?..

Nigeria as a country and political entity has gone though a lot of political experimentation and development (this is the 4th time we've taken a stab at a functional democratic process, with countless interuptions by the military).. Since our leaders have refused to learn from the best practices of other places with better systems of governance, we can only develop at our own rate, and hope that with time, experience will be the best teacher.. Not to say that even in these "so-called" developed countries, things are exactly peachy.. Believe me, even in Nigeria's present backward state, it does have a lot to offer to the more "developed" societies of the world.. In terms of humaneness and morality..

I'm happy we agree on one thing though..

"our concern right now shld be less on the alledged porosity of the UK borders but on how Obasanjo's 6yr attempt at laundering our image abroad has been destroyed by the selfish and criminal act of a governor!"

FamilyRe: Should Homosexuals Be Allowed to Raise Children? by CimonJorr(m): 10:00am On Nov 30, 2005
I'm curious about something..

What would you believe a "fit" environment for the child to be brought up in should be?? huh

Most of the arguments have been from the points of view of the parents... what of from the children's stand/view point?? huh

allonym:
... snip...
In any case, I don't see how being straight or homosexual impacts a person's ability to raise children. The only thing that should stop someone from being able to raise children is prior crimes against children or professed tendencies towards pedophilia or somethng related. Since being homosexual or heterosexual has nothing to do with whether or not a person will do harm to a child, it cannot be a factor in determining who makes a fit parent.
PoliticsRe: Inspector-General Tafa Balogun Convicted: Jailed For Six Months by CimonJorr(m): 7:30pm On Nov 29, 2005
Regarding the Tafa case, I agree 6 months is puny compared with the volume of cash he was alleged to have ripped-off.. I guess the prosecution didn't make a very good case during the trial.. Another perspective is that Tafa's case was a case of embezzlement... I guess he was not directly accused of taking a life or any other capital crime, hence the lack of severity of his sentence.. I hope he's made to forfeit his illegally acquired assets before he comes out of prison..
PoliticsRe: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by CimonJorr(m): 7:16pm On Nov 29, 2005
The situation to the best of my understanding is this:

As an elected official of the Government of Bayelsa state, he is safe-guarded by the Constitution of the State, as well as the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.. [the Immunity clause]

To constitutionally remove him, he must first be stripped of official designation..[Impeachment]

then he can be prosecuted as a mere citizen of the country.. liable the laws of the Federal Republic.. Just like the Ade Bendels, the Fred Ajuduas, etc..

Hope this clears things up.. If I've left anyone out, please enlighten us further..

donnie:
Can someone please tell me what the possibilities are of having the man impeached and arrested. 'because as it seems, the man has untold number of immunities even in nigeria.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha.. he he he hehe..

Otokxx... You are HILARIOUS ! ! ! ! ! ! grin grin grin grin grin

otokx:
As i said earlier there is more to this than we know. The police system of the uk is not porous and are aware of what happened. By the way he did not leave britain as a woman. His memory loss of what happened was because he was probably drugged and kiddnapped by a special force and can only recollect seeing himself at his ancestral home here in Nigeria.

Am watching and waiting to see how this matter will end. The funny part of it all is that most of the demonstrators against alams are being sponsored by some people in the FG while those that welcomed the great GOVERNOR GENERAL of the ijaw nation did so willingly and without financial motivation.

The Nigerian Police are not corrupt, infact they are very efficient. If you are in doubt, take a drive on any Nigerian road and you will see them collecting Tax on behalf of the FG, thank God there is no state police.
PoliticsRe: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by CimonJorr(m): 7:08pm On Nov 29, 2005
You know what..

I'll try to address your points one at a time..

1.
please do not misquote me! i do not have a personal axe to grind with mr president!
to go straight to your argument, you seem very concerned about the nigerians that died in sept 11 or jul 7 forgetting that such incidents are few and far between in advanced countries. yet thousands of nigerians die everydayof hunger, disease, police brutalisation to mention a few in your backyard everyday! let us remove the log in our eyes first before we start attacking the mote in the eyes of the UK authorities. i am not siding the UK, i am only advising that we ensure we have our priorities straight before we begin to criticise others. what right has president obasanjo to be disappointed with the effort of the UK police when his own police force is in shambles!

2.
you really make me want to ask if u live in nigeria at all! if the police system in the UK is porous, what will you call the police system in nigeria if we have one at all? is it not common knowledge that criminals from niger come through our nonexistent borders everyday to perpetuate crimes? has any been caught? how many criminals and crooks pass through our borders everyday without our knowledge? do we pretend to have any borders at all save the one we share with benin or togo? at least the UK authorities have authoritatively told us they have alami's escape on security camera, can we explain how alami came through our own borders? how did alami pass through our airport or seaport without the knowledge of any nigerian security official? please let us solve our own problems before we start blaming others.

You claim that you have no personal axe to grind with the President, yet the tone of your original post indicated otherwise.. that not withstanding, even if the occurences of the terrorist attacks are "few and far between", should they occur at all??.. Not that these countries bring or invite such on themselves, but that since these have occured, security has allegedly been tightened up.. so, for there to be a laspe to the extent that Guv. Alams was able to locate a loop-hole and exploit it to the extent that he's back in Nigeria (jumping bail in the process), there must be something seriously wrong with the system.. We're not saying here that Nigeria is better, but theirs shouldn't bad, for the so-called level of their advancement and sofistication..

As a very weak analogy, the fact that I can't play football very well does not mean that I won't appreciate the skills of Ronaldinho on the ball..  wink

These priorities you refer to?.. Could you please expantiate further??.. because to me the main issue here is the bringing to justice of the man who ripped off and defrauded his people.. Not whether or not our ham-strung police force and judiciary can effectively function with the crippling conditions they have to operate in today..

3.
If we were a serious nation, why shld our citizens comprise "a great number" of foreign visitors to other nations? how many foreigners come to visit our country every yr. if the lives of nigerians are now at stake because of porous UK borders, it is hard to convince me that they will be any safer in THEIR OWN COUNTRY what with horrible roads, tokunbo aircraft, poor runways, nonexistent rail and water transportation systems, armed robbers, police to name a few!

Please let us be realistic even if we want to apportion blames to others!

I'm sorry, but since when has having Nigerians visit other countries (for whatever reason) been a crime ! ! !  huh
How does even the fact that we have a lot of Nigerians in diaspora (making sojourns for whatever reason they choose to) reflect on the serious of the nation?? huh.. You yourself, if I'm not mistaken are resident in the United States.. Would it be right, fair or correct for the government of that country to deny you a safe environment to live, because u are a guest there and not a citizen huh

I agree with you on one thing though.. we should be realistic.. For your information, we do have quite a large international community in Nigeria.. and a reciprocal responsibility to ensure the safety and security of the lives of these international community in Nigeria, just as they have a reciprocal responsibility to ensure the safety and security of the lives of Nigerians living in their own country..

the issues here remain the same as stated above..

Yes, in Nigeria, everything isn't perfect..

But in countries, where the standard is adjudged to be higher, they are obliged to perform to the higher standard..

So, lets stop comparing Nigeria with other countries, until we can function at the same level or standard..

ps... And the name's CimonJorr.. please stand corrected..  tongue

Nigerians are truly wonderful people...

A man has committed a grevious offense.. By all indications, he's done more to show his guilt than his innocence..

But are we truly interested in the person answering for his crimes??..

NO ! ! ! ! ! .....

Instead, we fight someone else who we feel should be held accountable for the "woes" of the alleged criminal...

Through out this, I have not seen one word against what this man has done.. Despite the best efforts of people.. and the media.. to highlight his numerous offenses... Even if the President is not in your personal good books, does that make the things done by this individual right?.. does it make his conduct and actions correct??...

davidylan:
to a discerning mind who reads President Obasanjo's purported letter, it is clear that our leaders have constantly portrayed us a nation of not only scammers but unserious and hypocritical people.

According to presidency sources, in the letter, dated November 23, 2005, Obas-anjo said he was baffled that the UK authorities, noted for thoroughness and effectiveness, could allow a man standing trial for such charges to beat the security network in their country. huh

how can the president be baffled that alami could beat the UK security network? why is he baffled? If a whole attorney general of a nation could be assasinated over 3 years ago and we are still looking up to God to fish out his killers then why shld we be baffled that alami could beat the UK security network. the president notes that the UK authorities are thorough and effective, can he say that about the policeforce under him for the past 6yrs? are the UK authorities from another planet different from ours? is thoroughness and effectiveness only meant for European and American authorities?

President Olusegun Ob-asanjo has written British Prime Minister, Mr. Tony Blair, expres-sing the disappointment of his government over the manner Bayelsa State Governor, Chief DSP Ala-mieyeseigha, escaped from London where he was standing trial on charges of money laundering. huh

why should the president be dissappointed over that? let him tell us how many corrupt past government officials HE has successfully prosecuted for the very same offence. rather the same men are the ones in his cabinet today, do you expect the british authorities to take that letter serious?

The President said Nigeria expects decisive action from UK authorities over the matter and specifically put the charge at the doorstep of Blair: "Mr. Prime Minister, we also expect decisive action on this matter from the appropriate authority from the British end." huh

what decisive action is he expecting from the prime minister? does he expect the prime minister to authorize a kidnapping of alamsco? the truth is the buck stops at the doorstep of nigerian authorities. it is we and NOT the british who out of our own greed and wickedness inserted that obnoxious immunity clause under which the likes of Dariye and Alami are now well protected under the "law". it is the state house of assembly that will impeach Alami, that is if their greed for filthy lucre does not blind them. it is the duty of the FG to ensure alami is sent back to the UK to face his charges or face them at home!

Apparently angered by the cynical manner in which the issue was treated by UK authorities, Obasanjo expre-ssed surprise that there was no official communication with the Nige-rian government until the High Commission was contacted huh

cynical? of course the brits are simply laughing their heads off! no british citizen would be allowed to be tried and convicted in a nigerian court, they would have ensured he was repatriated to face justice in a british court even if he were convicted of murder. no british citizen would jump bail in the most shameless manner our "GOVERNOR GENERAL" has done. they know of no laws that will habor criminals. they are not concerned about whether alami decides to return or not. they are more interested in how he managed to escape so that they can plug the loopholes and ensure a safer border for their citizens. they are not so bothered with catching up with alami, it is nigeria's image that suffers and it is innocent citizens in those foreign countries that will pay the price for such political misadventure of our leaders!
What would it take for you to be convinced that this person has done wrong?? huh.. that he has committed one of the highest crimes possible against his own people?? huh huh..

Was it victimization and conspiracy that put the money into his brief case while travelling?? huh.. Or placed the money into his house?? huh huh.. Or opened the numerous bank accounts or acquired all these companies and propertyhuh .. Or engaged in the general looting and deprivation of the statehuh huh huh huh huh...

otokx:
I will continue to identify with the Governor General of the Ijaw Nation even though I am Urhobo/Itsekiri because I believe that this is a clear case of victimization and conspiracy.

Why should OBJ want Tony Blair to do the dirty work? Why has he deployed soldiers in Yenagoa? Why is the government media creating a misleading scenario?

I watched the NTA report showing women demonstrating on a road far removed from Yenagoa. Can u imagine that the women did not reach 30 in number and yet the NTA announced that women were from all the Local Governments in Bayelsa.

Corruption in Nigeria is so widely entrenched to the point that it has almost become accepted as part of our culture.

OBJ should lead by example and stop making foreign trips, our universities should be equiped and upgraded, so also our airports, airspace (which just claimed the life of the son of pdp chairman yesterday) hospitals, roads , electricity, telecommunications etc
As is expected, Nigerians have started to loose focus on the main issues at stake...

If the Police system of a country like the UK is so porous as to allow any criminal abscond, the lives of their own citizens are at stake, talkless of those of visitors to their country (of which Nigerians do comprise a great number).. We don't have to look far to remember how many Nigerians died on sept 11 or July 7, or the other numerous terrorist attacks..

No matter your personal griviances against the President, I advise that we don't loose sight of the real issues at stake here..

When the Nigerian constitution came up for review on numerous occasions, I didn't hear the clamour for the removal of the immunity clause, or the introduction of any clause supporting prosecution of those in power for financial misdemeanours.. Yet, all I can hear above is that OBJ is responsible for the woes of the Bayelsa state Governor.. Like as if, he's the one who told the man to go and steal..

And for those still not satisfied with the benefits of the Presidents international trips and presence, I'd pose this question..

If Nigeria became and remained a pariah state, minimizing it's international exposure, would we have ever gotten any form of debt relief?.. Or inflow of international development??... or attention at allhuh.. Yes, the man galivants.... but hey, we're seeing something to show for it anyway... It's not like as if at the end of the day, there was absolutely no result..

As I said before..

Nigerians are truly wonderful people....  tongue

General question to all..  huh

Why would or should someone be worried about how they compare to someone's past lovers?..

If you're in love with the person, and if the person is in love with you, and both of you are in a loving relationship (without the other partner jumping around), why would this be of any importance, relevance or significance??..

Isn't this just a case of giving yourself grey hairs over nothing..?? huh  tongue

To me the issue isn't one of complaint, but a case of experience vs. inexperience..

People have been advocating for experience (in sexual matters).. Some have been advocating for the very opposite.. Both sides have presented their arguments..

But I'm simply trying to point out here that experience still factors into her situation..

To quote a friend of mine who had make-up sex with her husband some time back and shared her experience with me.. "I didn't know that there were alternatives to the 'straight' sex..(missionary style) " [Not her words exactly, I had to modify it a bit for the pusposes of this post..  wink]

Now she has learnt that there exist other alternatives.. this she learnt from her husband, who was more experienced than her sexually..

The above is simply an illustration, but points out that sexual experience still factors into the equation...

Aburo,

Permit me to say this, but ur "sweeter than the conventional lovey-dovey thin" relationship you have with these girls is nothing more than a platonic relationship.. This is from your own end I believe, cos I've quite sure the girls in question either feel like they are your only or "main" girlfriend; or they're simply going to mark time till someone who is more certain of the kind of relationship they (that person) wants comes along..

Not to subtract from your level of relationship with these girls, but if the truth be said, it is not possible to share your heart (affection, time, etc) equally among all these women.. The end result is that some of them are going to make more demands from you than you'd be willing to commit to.. and I don't mean sex here.. there are different levels of intimacy, and this can't be equally shared among all these women-folk..

Women are by nature possesive, and don't like to share..
When they finally catch up to your "game" I truly wonder where the cards will fall.. if they'd be content with the status quo, or if they'd issue you ultimatums.. that u make one of them your main babe, or that they should bounce..

Bottom line bro..
Ignorance is Bliss, then comes reality..

Sorry to rain on someone's parade...

And please, this has absolutely no reference to your religious bias, so please don't be offended  by my observation..

But in this case, you already know what you want/like... It's just that your man may not know how to give that to you.. So, the experience factor still comes into the equation.. in a manner of speaking, you are "disvirgining" him..   tongue

Makeda:
No, Snazzy I am no longer a virgin, but I am a born-again Christian and since givnig my life to God I have been practicing a life of abstinence. So picture my surprise when I fall in love with a male virgin whom I am now preparing to marry, cheesy!! Never saw that one coming when I began to pray for a husband and sould mate. But I am happy and satified and best of all he loves me for who I am just the way I am. cheesy
Quote from: Makeda on November 26, 2005, 07:08 AM
snip.... woman who is HOPELESSLY in love with a ... man, who is a virgin. We are preparing to get married next year and I am so excited because with both of us being Christian we have decided to not have sex until our wedding night. But let me drop a little knowledge on my ladies who are still virgins. When you have sex with a man who is so experienced it can be a disadvantage because he is undoubtedly going to use the same tired tactics and techniques on you that he has used on Sally, Jane, Susan, etc,..... There is no one single set pleasure principle for women. All women are different and we all like different things. No two women are turned on by the same things. A womans body is a mine field of buttons that lead to different kinds of explosions and sometimes a man who has been around the block a few times cannot fully appreciate your body, and he thinks he is an expert when it comes to your pleasure. He sometimes does not care to take time to see what makes you tick, because he thinks he knows it all. He has lost his curiosity when it comes to the mystery of the female body. But a man who is a virgin has no experience and this is wonderful because you can teach him exactly what makes you feel good. You can just lay down and let him have a good time touching and kissing you all over to see what gives you pleasure. Then when he hits a right button and you explode you get to watch his eyes light up with excitement as he memorizes your pleasure spots. He will be very eager to learn what makes you moan, giggle or scream out his name.  Then too you get to experience his emotions and feelings after he has sex for the first time. Then too you can explore each other freely without thoughts running through your mind like asking yourself- Am I better or worse than the last person they were with?? So yes I would say, I would definitely ppreferto marry a virgin. But this is just my opinion, so please do not blast me too bad, !!

And since when has that stopped anybody.. I can even recall someone who contested for election from prison, and won!!!..

Although 6 months seems to be too small for Tafa Balogun, but that will make him to be refered to as "Elewon" for life.
Do we have a Mayor of Port Harcourt?? huh huh

ps... why does it constantly happen that people see a bad thing and always support? huh.. So-called "Mayor"...
It's this kind of mentality that doesn't allow our country progress..

otokx:
the former Mayor of Port Harcourt has described the Chief Alamieyisiegha of bayelsa state as the least corrupt governor in the Niger Delta region and condenmed his abandonment in times of distress by other governors in the zone. He recalled how the Yourubas rallied round Tafa Balogun and the people of plateau also round Joseph Dariye. He went on to call for the dissolution of the South South Peoples Assembly since it can't provide succour to the very person that contributed to its success financially.

I have always stressed the political undertone in this matter. Corruption will soon cease to be an excuse in the provision of basic infrastructure to the people. I wish all foreign governments are like Britain, then ALL our politicians who are in power will cease to travel out with OUR money which they have stolen and develop our nation.

Another poser i'd like to make is why should any criminal in nigeria be transported to an outside country for trial? is it that there are no courts of law in our country?
It is common practice in Law, especially international law, for the accused to me taken to the place of commission of a crime for trial.. So, trust me, there is nothing out of place in him being transported back to the UK (the place of commision of his crime), if and when he can be made into a mere citizen again.. So far, he has not been accused of being in breach of Nigerian Laws, just the laws of the UK.. Maybe when he can be made into an ordinary citizen again, he may be accused of being in breach of Nigerian laws.. but for now, this will just have to do.. tongue

nferyn said" Don't forget that at the rate our body replaces our cells, no bodypart will be the same after 9 months maximum. If you're really that worried about cleanliness, just wait a couple of months and you'll have a brand new girl "

I think this is only correct for people who want to have sex casually, without the meaning of the sex being involved.

A girl who has been fucking before 100 times is not clean even if her "cells" are renewd mr. nferyn.

At least she will always compare between your performance and the other guys in her mind before u.
She can say, Ok Mr nferyn was doing his best but, Mr X had a larger cock. Do u like to be put in this situation? Always in comparoson for your dignity.

Having sex after marriage makes a family with all its meanings, compared with animals!

If u get all what u want before marriage, then why getting married then, and if u don;t get married then there is no family and if there is no family then there is nothing left to be done. Have sex, have sex, and then have sex, so what?

The Nigerian constitution (and indeed most constitutions all over the world) allow for some cadres of public servants to be immune from legal proceedings to allow them carry out their job functions more effectively...

Some countries grant it to diplomatic staff from other countries as a matter of international courtesy and diplomacy..

In Nigeria, the facility has been seriously abused by some people (using this to misbehave while in office, since they can't be prosecuted while in office).. You have to read through all the associated posts, and this one in particular to get the whole gist..

i'm not really into politics but this is an interesting topic. Now what do i hear? he's jumped bail? wow! i don't even know what to say! how did he do that? and so is he still the governor of Bayelsa state then? ok, now what i don't get is this immunity issue? does someone mind explaining it to me and also explaining why it even exisits? i mean does it go to say that our Nigerian leaders are above the law? is it practiced only in Nigeria?

And my nomination for[b] the most embarassing quote of the year [/b] is....

"For 65 days or so I found myself in the wilderness of foreign restrictions and torment. However, God Almighty has used this travail to humble me and I pray Nigerians accept the will of God in my life. Today, I reclaimed and reaffirmed my Nigerianness. Today, I am back at my desk, forever committed to serve the people of Bayelsa and Nigeria.
I thank the Almighty God for his protection, I thank Bayelsans, the Ijaw Nation and indeed Nigerians for standing by me".

The Nigerian Customs Service has been separated from the Nigerian Immigrations Service for quite a while..

This is purely an Immigrations Service matter..

But I agree.. an inquiry must be done.. tongue

Bruekeleen:
Can somebody line up all men and women of the Customs & Immigration Department, including the
roaches and rodents on duty (the day of his arrival back to Nigeria), how this happened.

Sweetie...

Me saying that the individual should get a life pertains more to the fact that he's worrying his head off about what he obviously couldn't change (even if he wanted to) if he were in that circumstance..

Let me break it down..

Why should he bother his head with what his girlfriend or wife did in a relationship ages before she agreed to date/marry him, when obviously she isn't in a relationship with anyone else but him at the moment..
If that were his main concern before going into a relationship, he should have subjected her to an interview before starting anything with her, as well as build a dossier and give it to the SSS for further investigation..

What anyone does in a previous life or relationship is just that.. something done previously.. here we are not querrying the woman's fidelity (or lack thereof) but what he would be bothering his mind about.. (ie. the fact that she could have given head to a guy she was dating previously / recieved head from one of her ex's)..

Do you understand nowhuh..

ps.. would u date a guy who had a complex about people u've been in relationships with prior to dating him.. to me this smacks of insecurity and a lack of self-belief.. my views only..

CimonJorr, elpaso doesn't need to get a life, he's saying the truth!!!learn to face the facts!!!and respect people's opinions, everyone are entitled to their own opinions just like you are, so don't criticize someone for saying his mind!

Get a life(just because he's objecting your opinion)

I'm sorry to say that I just got this information via txt from Nigeria.. Not because I don't follow the news, but because for the last couple of days I've been running helter-skelter trying to get some things sorted out...

When I finally got to the BBC news website, and read the article.. I must confess.. I became SAD... Really really SAD.. I wouldn't go as far as saying on the verge of Depression.. but pushed to the limit.. really at the limit..

To the sychophants who welcomed the b@$tard back, I can only wish them well.. I wonder how much they would have been individually paid to come and partake in the "jamboree".. they must have all been wondering why there had been no money from the state for the last couple of weeks..

To those on this forum congratulating the man for getting home, well.. I guess they'd all better send the guy emails for their "personal invitations" to join in... I'm sure the guy must be in such a good mood at this coup d'etat [after all, he was once in the military, wasn't he..] that he would definitely be in a giving mood..

To those who are waiting on the Nigerian government to do something.. I pity them.. If they had the most basic knowledge of the Nigerian constitution; or even if they had been following the posts on Nairaland so far, they should have come to the realisation that the guy is "home free"... there's nothing that can be done to him now.. In Nigeria, he has Constitutional Immunity.. IRREVOCABLE....From arrest.. from investigation.. from prosecution (and persecution for that matter).. from anything (but a $nipper's bu!!et or the call of the Lord)..
To me, once the dust has settled down, guess who's going to be at the forefront of pushing for a 3rd term.. or alternatively, moving into another Immune position of political influence.. No one takes my 1 Pound for the correct answer to that question.. I guess he's just going to wait it out the Political Tsunami he's just caused, and hope that time will either erase it from people's minds or lessing the empathy which he's caused by his actions, both locally and internationally..

To me, I agree with the people who say that the innocent ones are now going to bear the brunt of someone's anger.. I just pray it isnt't a mere mortal like me..

To the airline which carried him in the first instance.. they should be prosecuted with the fullest extent of the law.. both internationally and within Nigeria.. this is the height of lackadasicality and irresponsibility.. to imagine the ammount of debaseness with which they harrass and embarrass innocent Nigerians, and then this happens.. I wonder when we will finally find out which one actually carried him.. I wonder if they'll plead that they did not know.. or if they'll say he had "legitimate" travelling documents on him.. Probably "genuine" documents made at the Bayelsa State Immigrations Command...

To those that wonder at the timing of the "escape".. if they've been following the political developments in the Bayelsa state, they'll know that he had no other choice if he wanted to remain the state governor.. His political machine was being dismantled piece by piece.. his hench men in the state house of assembly (the speaker and deputy speaker) had just been removed, the Deputy Governor was being prevailed upon to resume the full duties of becoming an Acting Governor (and needless to say that he was seriously thinking of becoming the Acting Governor, both for the interest of the state, which had slumped into executive & legislative doldrums, and his own interests as well...) till tomorow, it will not take a rocket scientist to determine why a governor who purportedly sent a letter to the state house of assembly requesting for a 120 day leave of absence did not deem his deputy fit to stand in his place for the period when he would have been away...

To me, it wasn't pressures from the British Police which would have made him jump bail.. but the thought of his Power base at home erroding.. Because in the final analysis, that really is his main concern.. His own personal self interest and survival.. The same instincts which can make a man keep up to 1 million UK Pounds Sterling in his personal residence without fear or favour..

*man.. I have a headache.. I'm going for a bottle of Star... not more than one.. not less than one.. just one..  sad undecided cry cry cry*

*I wonder when they'll make a movie out of this.. this is as good a material as any I've seen in recent times...*
