Honestly, I didn't consider this, cos she definitely didnt look it, and she wasn't slurring her words or acting in such a manner, I'd have said that I think she was reasonably sober,

Still, thanks for all the comments,

Hi Peeps,

I dey here oh, And to use the words of our illustrious leader "I dey Kamkpe",

Was actually chatting with Snazzy a couple of mins ago, and she informed/intimated me of this new thread,

It's really been a while since I've been here, My absence was due to a lot of BS flying through the 'chat~waves', especially some very dictatorial tendencies which were being displayed by certain peeps bent on curbing our intellectual "freedom of speech",

Anyways, it's nice to be appreciated, and I guess what I'm saying right now is that I really appreciated the time I spent here and interaction I had with fellow Nairalanders, I made some quite unique friendships which have really spanned the times,

To those my peeps who appreciated the few words I used to drop from time to time, I salute you all, and to my "intellectual sparring" mates I wish we will catch up some day and continue from where we left off,

To my dear friends, and especially Angelina-Jolie, some day I hope we'll hear from you,

This is me signing out, those who want to drop me a line can shoot me a mail at my email account,

Take care yu'all,

Ciao,

TheSaint,

I think u misintepreted my words..

Giving it up = having sex with someone (else)..

prettyH:

At times in a long distance relationship, saying i love you just doesn't cut it or prove one's fidelity to the other. If the guy has given up on her whats the essence of using those words.

Romance / Re: Is She Having An Affair? by CimonJorr(m): 7:29pm On Feb 05, 2006
Bro..

You made the right decision.. Trust me..

I knew of someone in a similar situation, who eventually found that his love, was having an intimate affair with someone else.. to the point of even sleeping with the other guy.. u dont need that kind of stress.. life's too short, and sweet for any rubbish to take away one's happiness..

Burry the feelings as dead... and move on.. Life is for the living.. tongue
Romance / Re: Confused: Problems In A Long-Distance Relationship by CimonJorr(m): 7:15pm On Feb 05, 2006
Question for you..

And you'all please don't bite my head off..

But what does it really matter if he's "giving it up" to another chick?? ...

If he says he loves you, and you truly believe he does, and you're in love with him, isn't that what's important?..

Just curious..

Family / Re: Domesticating Nigerian Men by CimonJorr(m): 4:08pm On Feb 03, 2006
@ Viv..

my annoyance isnt directed at you really.. more at the general folk who feel that men are "beasts" to be domesticated..

Believe me, this sentiment isnt just held by you (as you can tell from a majority of the posts here.. )

No offense taken, hope I haven't offended you either.. if so, my appologies.. undecided
Family / Re: Domesticating Nigerian Men by CimonJorr(m): 4:00pm On Feb 03, 2006
sorry to pick issues here..

but men are not "animals"... Neither are they to be "DOMESTICATED"..

Couldn't we look for a less agravating word to describe a person's home care skills.. angry

You all make it sound like the man is like cattle or sheep or chickens or something.. angry angry

However, I do agree with you on one very salient point u raised..

WOMEN should plan their office life and their homes carefully, taking full cognisance of their expected duties in both environments.. tongue
Family / Re: Domesticating Nigerian Men by CimonJorr(m): 1:32pm On Feb 03, 2006
I guess this all boils down to a matter of perception and orientation..

In Nigeria, most men can get away with not being "domesticated" [I still hate the word.. angry] becuase the cheaper state of the nation (compared with overseas) can permit the use of house-helps and the likes, to take care of that aspect of home care..

Overseas, life is more expensive.. hence, in order to maintain the same level of home care at optimal budget, chores have to be shared between partners.. (to a certain degree)..

However, this is not to say that men can not take care of all these miscellaneous duties if they have no choice.. (after all, all men were once boys, and most boyz have at one stage in their lives handled such.. ).. Hence my point in my original post that men do not have to be "DOMESTICATED" in order to see the need to assist around the house.. they just have to see the need.. period..

Me thinks Cameroun had the most lethal strike force..

However, me thinks Nigeria has a pretty decent defense..

So, let's see what happens in due course.. Football isn't mathemathics... (even though it may be analysed by statistics  wink )

If you are a Christian, and she is becoming one too, old things are passed away.. Once you both have sought forgiveness from Jesus Christ...

Just take it all in your stride.. You have a child together, and her past didnt stop you from doing that... What u saw in her when u started the relationship should be what you should currently focus on..

And for goodness' sake.. remember there is a child involved.. that should be paramount of all considerations.. tongue
Dating And Meet-up Zone / Re: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by CimonJorr(m): 1:35pm On Jan 20, 2006
I must confess... sad

I once upon a time liked Micheal.. My all time favourites of his were "I want to Rock with'ya" and "Human Nature"...

The thing about him is that he's very unpredictable.. Even till now, on almost every album, you'll always find one reasonable song, and then a bunch of crap.. but the dude is gifted.. I wont take that away from him...

@ Freshsmile...

I'm still a R&B buff... Delving into the occasional Rap and HipHop...

Followed the trends from New Edition, through Boyz2Men, R.Kelly... the works...

Right now, my "following" include an ecclectic mix from John Legend (I remembe when I used to love u), JayZ (Dirt your shoulders off), Lenny Kravitz, Kanye West (Gold Digga ), and Fifty 'kobo'(too many to mention here, but most recently, Magic Stick)..

But BIG UPs to the Naija R&B scene... My heart is really gladdened that we used to and still have local songs which compete with the international scene..

'Oya' by TrybesMen
'Olufunmi' by Stylz Plus

Even the oldies by Mike Okri, Dizzy K Falola, Bonney Mack (I still reckon this fella's a Naija dude)  and Baba himself.. may his soul Rest In Peace... they are simply Unforgetable..

freshsmile:

Whats your fav music these days? keeping up with the times. cool

@ AbaBoy,

My brother, I beg no vex.. still trying to make up my mind on which songs to request from you, make I no be like "Oliver Twist"..  grin

Then there's Charly Boy's Classic "Some Men like a Woman with BIG bottom.."

Funny thing is that I actually have met a lot of Nairalanders..

But the first person who actually stated that they wanted to meet me, I haven't met..

Ocho-dearie.. we really should meet..
Dating And Meet-up Zone / Re: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by CimonJorr(m): 11:37pm On Jan 17, 2006
I'm inclined to disagree with you here bro...

I'd rather say this idea is taking a life on of it's own... Evolving along naturally.. I don't think we need to wait for Mr. Admin to create a special area for us to talk about whatever appeals to us.. All we're really interested in is just gisting about what we want to talk about.. whatever comes to mind.. music, fashion, etc...

For example, I can remember a time when if a dude didn't have his "BROGUE" shoes, his LINEN trousers, and his PAISLEY shirt, im never land.. Don't know if this fashion trend manifested for all of Naija, but it definitely manifested in Benin.. back in the day..

And BUGLE BOY reigned supreme..  grin

erekihc:

This idea is slowly turning into a farce. Seun, it appears you are quite reluctant and it will always be your call. I guess you have your reasons.

For the time being has anyone got an idea of an appropriate domain name that can be used to start the forum we require?

I expect some juvenile ideas, but I guess we just have to live with it.

ps... And yeah, TP, Barry Whyte, Luther Vandros... those were the KINGS of SOUL ! ! !

Anybody in the house remember Najee, Bobby McPharen (The Simple Life..).. wink smiley wink
