I have something pretty similar tho and I’ve not had any issues with it. I did nothing on the slab too.

Since water will always find it’s level, I had like 3 degree slope on the longer side of the roof slab and that seems to take care of the worries.

I will advice not to use POP at this time since the decking is fully exposed. Water will definitely find its way. Covering the staircase area only is not a guarantee that water will not pass through the decking. And POP and water are just not always in good terms. Best you can do is cornice round the decking should you really need it and then plaster the decking. When you complete the roofing. Do your POP and enjoy it once and for all.
