The North has higher literacy rate than SW unless you want to quote Yemi Kwale Bureau of Statistics.

Literacy rate is the proportion of the population that can read and write fluently. Overwhelming proportion of the northern populate can read and write Hausa even among their older women.

You move into inner SW cities, you will be amazed at the number of their population that cannot read and write fluently either Yoruba language or English.

SW has higher number of broken homes and children born out of wedlock.

SW is leading in open defecation.

The North has lower unemployment rate than SW.

The North has better infrastructure than SW.

The SW is leading in the number of slums.

The SW has higher number of jobless youths than the north.

The SW is the most indebted region in the country.

The north is leading the SW convincingly in quality roads.



Apart from few stupid indices (out of school children, incidence of terrorism, early marriage, religion intolerance) the NW is a better place to live in than SW.

I don't what to mention poverty rate because it is usually measured using disposable income and other monetary indices.

An average northern doesnt like holding money in cash or deposit. That doesn't mean they are poor.

At least most of them have in store large amount of food that can last them for a year. How many average southern families can boost of 6 months foods in advance?

The federal govt increased VAT, petroleum price several times and electricity tariff all within one year, and the federal govt still blames something else for the cause of inflation . It shows that there are no good economists in this administration if they can't understand factors that determine inflation and deflation even when they are very obvious

we need to empathise with him, seeing vibrant and I daresay unarmed IPOB youth shot to pieces can destabilise anyone. Do you know the amount of tears that have been shed at his feet by wailing parents of these youth. Nnamdi kanu right from his days in Massob has experienced this kind of tragedy over and over again,its not easy to maintain tactical discipline under this level of provocation by Nigerian security agents,this is not propaganda ...i personally witnessed the shootings of Ipob youth near garisson port Harcourt during the rally to celebrate Trump's inauguration in January 2017,it was a traumatic experience I will never forget.

anyway Kanu is not the neophyte that most people think he is, yes he may cut across as brash and rash but he is a consummate negotiator, my brother you do not bring a knife to a gunfight,The nigerian political space is brutish and animalistic...too often our Igbo politicians are cowed into silence when they should be fighting our corner. If nnamdi was in the political space all the projects that are being denied us will have come to us,look at what is happening in the rail sector and gas pipeline network.......the south east has been effectively sidelined,we need a spoilsport and hard tackler like nnamdi kanu to "clear road" for us to make any impact.

I wont lie to you I have been tempted to pursue this idea to the fullest but then the reality of my current life weighs me down.I even once emailed Ngozi okonjo Iweala office so that I can have a quick interaction with her and discuss this idea and see if she would be interested to run it but they never got back to me.

There are some Igbo organizations that have similar ideas but they are very slow and talk too much in conferences without much action. Its because of this reason that I started thinking of maybe doing it myself.

I don't mean to derail your thread . I totally understand your point about private driven development and I support it , but my point is that the government have the money to effect change but they are corrupt and lack unity of purpose . And with that ,they may even frustrate private efforts .
Example of disunity of purpose , Why not build only one world class international Airport like this sketch below instead of many international airports 10 minutes away from each other ? And I ask this question not only for the Igboland but Akwacross and others as well. I heard the Cross river Governor is building a cargo airport at Obudu .
