Temi87: Good morning everyone. A friend just told me about this page. My visa was denied yesterday at the consulate in lagos. This was my transcript
Me: good morning VO: pass me your passport and document. Why did you choose your school. Me: I chose it because it is accredited by the project management institute global accreditation centre for project management and also offers it under the department of tech and construction management and because I studied Building tech as an undergraduate, it was essential I continued in the same path. VO: when did you graduate Me: I graduated in 2016 VO: from which school Me: the university of lagos VO: did you take the GRE Me: yes I did (she looked at me like I should day my score) I had 309 in my GRE and 105 in my TOEFL. (I didn’t mention my school didn’t require toefl, just the GRE) VO: so what have you been doing since you graduated Me: I worked with the state ministry of works and housing for a while where I discovered there is increasing need for qualified project managers because a lot projects functionally fail at their delivery dates, I proceeded to work for my former lecturer who is a consultant for various construction companies, going to sites with him and applying PM tools and techniques. Currently I work at a bank headquarters in the project management services department, evacuating the performance risks of various companies who come for loans or extensions on their loans to execute their projects. VO: who is your sponsor Me: my elder sister VO: what does she do Me: she’s supplies oil and gas to companies as a marketer for nnpc. (Forgot to mention she also manages our mums properties where we collect rent including one hospital) Vo: pass me her bank statement . (Then she typed for a long time). Has she ever travelled before? Me: no she hasn’t. (She has a Schengen visa she never used though I didn’t mention that, and she was denied a Canadian visa earlier this year but I don’t know how the VO will connect me to that) Vo:are you married or single Me:I’m not married. Vo: I’m sorry I won’t be approving your visa, though I feel you’ll be qualified at a later time. Me: thank you. (Then I left).
It was the last at window 7 who nods a lot. I don’t know what the next step should be, though I’m thinking to sending an email to my school to keep them updated of this hitch. The total cost was about 8 million and I had a bank statement of 17 million. I need advice please. Thank you. which school is it? |

learner007: It depends on whether your program is tailored towards pure maths or applied maths. The pure maths is really rigorous (heavy on writing mathematical proofs). La cram la pour no dey work here, walahi talahi. If you have to take a proof writing remedial course, dont hesitate at all. It will really help you. But the applied/numerical path is okay! I have taken courses across both paths. I took Real Analysis last semester...it was deeper than what I did in my undergrad. So I advice anyone coming to start to prepare early in order to hit the ground running. Download some calculus textbooks online and drill yourself like mad! Thank me later! Thanks for this boss. Pure math is a pain. I'm not treading that path again, computational and applied math all the way. |

Good afternoon everyone. please when wes requests for verification from one's institution, do they immediately send evaluation to the chosen US school after receiving the verification from your institution. |

geemailer2019: It turned out that the schools received my request for transcript verification but they kept it aside waiting for me to pay N10,000 each for transcript verification. The second school had the transcript verification in their file for Nov 2 (the VDR email was sent to me on Oct 3 so i would advise to give your school up to 4 weeks to receive and document it). I have paid the money and waiting to get confirmation from WES that my transcripts and documents have been verified.
One problem i see here is that the schools did not reply WES to inform them that some fee needed to be paid, so that WES could inform me, they did not have any contact phone number either on their website, they also did not put any information on the website informing people about transcript verification fees, so that someone could be aware of what is going on. The system is simply designed in such a way that you physically have to go to the school and process your transcripts, and also anticipate that the delay was due to some fee to be paid. Which school is this please? |

Thanks You might not need a tracking number if it's a reliable courier service. Seven days counting from the day WES sends an email to you that they have received your transcript. |

kolalekan: No, nobody would tell you the school to choose because you did not apply to any of them
No, you did not do anything yourself.
Okay, so you had 1246 then 1462 which is not valid and now you have 2260. You are sure you did everything yourself. Besides as Lagosismyhome said, there was no SAT August 25, I believe you are a Nigerian cos you mentioned you have been catering for yourself from ss1 - ss3 so do not tell us you wrote it outside Nigeria
Thanks for the clarification, this one is not serious
This cracked me up. The guy is here to troll, he is not genuine, how can a genuine student who was accepted not know the meaning of Ivy league, not know how to calculate his SAT score
======================
Finally, this is one big family. I am really grateful many stood up and someone volunteered to write a letter for him free. I was really happy that we have one another interests at heart. I should have contributed also but my main account, Olalekank was banned
I am surprised someone can come out and "lie" he was admitted to Harvard and does not know simple steps. Burst my head, he doesn't even know his SAT score.
I think we should just ignore whatever the joker has to say until he provides proof Reason for the ban? |

Olalekank: Hi everyone. Great job so far
I understand that we've been compiling transcripts. I'm not sure if Part 13 has been compiled but I was wondering if some people can join in compiling 13 (if not compiled) and 14.
However, in this case, we won't just compile everything together but break it into sections so that anyone who wants to read transcript for a course peculiar to him can navigate directly to it rather than having to scan though multiple transcripts.
There could be sections for chemical engineering rated courses, CS related, Mathematics related, etc. What are your thoughts about this @justwise
If Justwise grants us permission to continue, kindly indicate interest if you wanna assist in this little bit of compilation. Thank you. I would be willing to help. |

Peace505: When you get to there office, you will need these requirements for confirmation of your results. 1. A copy of Waec certificate or online printout results or statement of result from your school 2.Affidavit for confirmation of results 3.2passport photograph (I think 3passports if it combined results) 4. 2 small brown envelope 5.processing fee (5k if it's within Nigeria, 10k outside Nigeria) You will still pay for mailing the result to Wes depending on the courier you chose. After they have verified your result, they will send it to Wes. It's just like that of transcript. please, how long does it take them to process the result? |

domex007: hi guys
i have been a nairaland follower since 2013.
i am sorry my testimony is coming late. i hope it helps raise the hope of nigerian youths seeking greener pastures here.
i have been denied USA student visa in 2013, 2014 and 2015 i then turned my dreams to canada (paid my school fees in full and was still denied student visa in 2016 after waiting over 3months) at this point my money was almost finished and my family started advising me to start studies here in nigeria
i enrolled for yaba tech part time program while i also chased my travel dreams in Germany. i was also denied visa to germany because i couldn't raise the 8,800 euro blocked account.
at this point, i was frustrated and desperate, but the work load from yabatech and my business kept me from depression.
immediately, after my graduation in Yaba i decided to give USA one last trial knowing fully well that i will be denied but i kept on pushing forward
my interview went thus: first, my interview was for 6;30 13th august 2018 but for the first time i got to the embassy very late and i was not scared or nervous. it rained heavily that day and the rain no pity me at all. i just protected my documents and went it. i was very cold and feeling sick. i just wanted to do my interview and leave. i was bending down to make my self warm and was almost sleeping before the person behind me told me that it was my turn.
My interview was very long.........
my interview: (a Beautiful black american woman): VO: Hi there. are you okay? Me; Hi. yes i am fine. i am just cold. with fake smile on my face. VO: oh okay why are you going to the USA? Me; for my undergrad studies in Business Administration and management VO: when did you finish high school? Me; 2012 VO; what have you been doing since: Me; I went for a computer diploma program for a year. then i started applying to Universities in US, Canada, Germany and Nigeria. Things didnt go as planned with the Abroad studies so i went for my National diploma in yaba that took me 4years. VO: Why did you choose to continue studies in US? why not nigeria? me: the educational system in nigeria is really poor even though it is affordable to study in nigeria. my program for example is suppose to be a program of 2 years but due to the strike and poor educational amenities it will take me longer time to graduate here in Nigerian university. And i believe in the proverb; "what is what doing is what doing well" VO: Why do you Change your course? Me; briefly after my studies i open a Human Hair Business with the financial assistance from my uncle but i need more board knowledge in the field of business. thats why i decided to change my program to help me business grow when i return to Nigeria. VO:how many Universities did you apply to? Me; A lot VO; sorry i meant how many gave you admission? Me: 6 Congratulations man!!! |
