Obi1kenobi:
This is why compared to Europeans for example, Nigerians have a lot of ethnicities. A ridiculous proliferation of groups where any tiny clan with any tenuous distinction claims to be an independent tribe. It is worse of course among Igbos/Igboid groups. What I always find weird about the arguments of South South Igboid groups is their inability to grasp that their conceptions of Igbos as a monolithic group that differs from them makes no sense. When I schooled in UNN, I had this roommate in my first year from Enugu Ezike, and when a cousin of his visited him and they were speaking, their language might as well have been Icelandic or Finfish or Mandarin to my ears. I could barely comprehend anything they were saying in their hardcore dialect. There are significant cultural/linguistic differences between many Igbo clans. I could bet you that your so-called "Ndo-Osimili" clan have more in common with an Idemili man than an Idemili man has with an Ezza man in Ebonyi.

All I can say is the divide and rule antics of the North, particularly through the post-war military administrations has succeeded in the South. They are political geniuses up North to be able to advance common goals as a monolithic bloc while we fragment ourselves almost down to villages claiming to be distinct ethnicities.
I love your argument and agree with most of what u have written. However, you seem to be reasoning along with me.

Yes, the Igbo's are not a homogenous people, but political events, particularly of the last 100 years have united them and is greatly closing the gaps and no other event has defined the Igbo's more than the civil war. 100years ago, the term Igbo mostly referred to the spoken language and not to an ethnic group per say. The people of the various clans that make up what today is called Igbo land most likely did not refer to themselves as Igbo, some explicitly rejected being tagged as Igbo. However, political events following Nigeria's colonization changed the dynamics. Most of these people united as an umbrella Igbo ethnic group. The whole politics culminated in the civil war which helped in strengthening the Igbo union even more. The tragedy of war as suffered by the Igbo's came to be a common history of the various Igbo sub groups. Those igboid groups that were not directly involved in the war don't share this history and may not be Igbo enough. This is the reason y d Asaba man, a victim of the civil war will identify proudly as Igbo but an Agbor man would not

U are categorise as Anioma, that is the group u fall under.

No man is an island. Aboh belong to the Anioma family.

Ndoni that you keep mentioning are geographically close to Aboh but in actual fact belong to Imo state not even Rivers.
Ndoni is in Rivers state. Peter Odili the former Rivers governor is an Ndoni man. The Ndonis are more related to Aboh than they r to Asaba yet they r not Anioma. The whole Anioma thing is a political contraption. The Asaba man would see an Onitsha man as more of a brother than an Aboh man.

So from claiming that Aboh people were not considered Igbos pre-Biafran War to they only spoke the Igbo language to they have a minority Igbo settler group there. How can a minority settler group force the majority group to abandon their own language and take up a foreign one without any brute force? huh
The Igbo people in Aboh are the minority and are later settlers known to have arrived from the east of the Niger. Their dialect is more like the 'mainstream Igbo' dialect. Aboh is a complex community, visit Aboh today

really. So what ethnic can we call aboh people?
An Aboh man is best referred to as Aboh, or Ndo-Osimili if u want a broader grouping that would include the people of the lower banks of the Niger. We just call ourselves Aboh and nothing else

Adopting one's culture does not mean that you will drop your language and only speak your husband's language, unless both of your languages are the same, of course. She was a proud Igbo woman before she got married and she was a proud Igbo woman after she got married. Ergo, she had always seen herself as Igbo.
of course the Aboh language is an Igbo dialect and is therefore mutually intelligible with your Anambra dialect. However, a people's ethnicity transcends language sometimes, that is the case of the Abohs and surrounding people. Do you know there are Aboh Igbos, who r a minority settler group in Aboh. Visit Aboh and clear your doubts

My grandmother was from Aboh and she had always been a proud Igbo woman who refused to speak anything but Igbo. These people had always viewed themselves as Igbos before the war.
Have u ever been to Aboh? Go there and see for yourself if they regard themselves as Igbo's, both old and young. Your grandmother married an Igbo man and adopted his culture, which is not a thing to be despised. You should try and visit Aboh and know about your grandmother's people. I can help you if u r really willing

99% of the Yorubas there don't want him anymore. They see him as an embarrassment and a failure to them as a group.

However 99% of the Igbos, most of them residing in South East, want Fayose to be reelected (if possible) as they see as a mentor worthy to emulation by "patriotic" Nigerians.

I see Fayose winning tomorrow, based on the above observation.

Good luck Ekiti Kete!

How I argue is my concern. If I curse/insult on my post, in what way does it concern your useless self? Are you me? Did you in anyway play a factor in any aspect of my life? Do you pay my fucking bills? Hell no, so the Bleep is your problem?

Lastly you are one sexiest bastard aren't you? I highly highly highly highly doubt you have the intellect of NOI, Chiamaka, Maxine Waters, and the billions of influential women out there. For you to think you react/act more civil than a woman based solely on their sex just shows how much an underdeveloped caveman you are. Thank you for comparing me to them. Cause I rather be that than even remotely think like your sexiest, undeveloped Neanderthal mindset. Go get educated and pull your ignorance out of the neanderthal stage. We humans have evolved, why don't you join us caveman.

Show me a state where there is no problems of superiority tussle and distrust, even the so called homogeneous states. I think your issue with Anioma state is teh fact that when created, it may become very hard to separate yourself from the Igbo tag unlike when you're in a state like Delta or Rivers.
if states creation will not solve the problem of superiority tussle and distrust as u allude to, why agitate for it? As for Igbo tag, I do not really care about that, what is important to me is that I know where I come from and the values of my people that I must transmit on to those after me. State creation or not people will always use the false Igbo tag on us until they get to know us more deeply then they get to say, hey, these guys r different from those Igbo guys. We r used to that bro

If you say so, but i think your best bet is to stick with your fellow Anioma people in the same state.
You should have noticed by now that I try to avoid using the word Anioma. The so called Anioma people are a diverse group of people, some with greater affinity to the Igbos and others with more affinity to neighboring non Igbo speaking people. If an Anioma state is created, there will still be problems of superiority tussle and distrust

Not in a hundred years will a state of Ukwuani-Ndoni be created when there are bigger and more viable options.
I was only stating my wish not agitating. Meanwhile, an Ukwuani-Ndoni state would be very viable as we have great agricultural potential and oil and gas reserves. Haven't you heard that the Aboh people were once the most prosperous people along the banks of the Niger?

I only responded to some people's false narratives.

On the issue of state creation, SE can get their additional state without involving my people. Personally, I do not believe the destiny of my people lie in the state we fall into, I do not even believe in the state's system we operate in Nigeria. I am an Aboh man first and last, create an Aboh state or an Aboh-Ndoni state, then I'll be content

Before the war, nobody in Nigeria was known as "Anioma", however, Ukwuani and Agbor were known as 'Ika-Igbos' as far back as 1963 when the Mid-West Region was created.
The people referred to as Anioma today have been called Midwestern -Igbo, Bendel-Igbo and more recently Delta-Igbo. The war never changed that. What never happened in history is the people of the Aboh-Ukwuani-Ika axis ever calling themselves Igbos, ever!

The Igbos are great people but most of us don't see ourselves in them. It's something you may not understand but you just have to respect people's opinion of themselves

THIS ALL STARTED AFTER THE BIAFRA WAR.

is there any historical evidence that the Agbor or Ukwuani man called himself Igbo before the war? Do u really think a whole group people will deny their identity because of war even when peace have been restored. Do u know the Igbo speaking delta people have more to gain politically and indeed economically if they identify as Igbo yet they deny this same identity.
