PoliticsBoko Haram: Militant Group Demands Niger Delta Republic by cleversecj(op): 3:19pm On Jul 13, 2011
Source: pointblanknews.com - Pointblanknews.com

Niger Delta Militant
Angered over the spate of attack by the Boko Haram sect in the North the Niger Delta Liberation Force, NDLF, has demanded for a Republic of Niger Delta urging President Goodluck Jonathan to as a matter of urgency, convene a sovereign national conference, SNC.

The SNC, the group said will afford Nigerians the opportunity to discuss and possibly give birth to the Republic of Niger Delta, using the Southern Sudan example, where the people met and agreed on the formation of a new nation, South Sudan Republic, without spilling blood.

Spokesman of the militant group, “Captain” Mark Anthony, in a statement, noted that Nigeria's problem was political and what was needed to resolve it was a political solution, involving a roundtable conference of all the ethnic nationalities in the entity called Nigeria.

He said: “In SNC, every ethnic nationality shall come forward through a delegation and put up a referendum for the interest of every geo-political region. The referendum shall determine the continued existence or separation of the contraption called Nigeria. Nigeria is a creation of falsehood and it is standing on a keg of gun powder being mismanaged by former military dictators.

“We use this medium to hail great men like Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu, late Major Isaac Boro, Ken Saro-Wiwa and their followers, as well as all freedom fighters who had paid the supreme price with their lives for Biafra and Niger Delta, for their courage and patriotism. These great men were men of vision who saw the type of fake Nigeria left behind for us by the British imperialists.

“We also hail the people of the new South Sudan nation for their determination and doggedness. We the people of Niger Delta shall one day join the world to celebrate Niger Delta Republic. Nobody should deceive himself and play politics with our call for splitting Nigeria into segments for the interest of every geo-political region,” he added.

CelebritiesProject Fame Gossip (ochuko) by cleversecj(op): 4:23pm On Aug 12, 2010
The contestants welcomed another genre of music for the week in Uncle Ben’s class. ‘Soft Rock music needs a lot of soul, not much energy in movement, but your expressions have to look believable’, said Uncle Ben. Songs were distributed to the contestant while their teacher announced that there will be a group performance by Toto titled ‘AFRICA’.

After class, Yetunde had some time alone with Uncle Ben. ‘There is this inferiority complex that has come over me and it is affecting me’, she complained. She was advised to be herself and be true to who she is. (Is there more to this than meets the eyes?)

Tolu confronted Ochuko about the unprintable things that were said about him. Who was the snitch that told Tolu? And if Tolu is not a degree holder, who cares? Is Yetunde really in love with Tolu? Did Ochuko deny what was said, or was he trying to do damage control? Ochuko claims he knows Lindsey well enough and she has him in mind…how true is this? Time will tell. Enough of the gossips.

…the feeling goes on

Ochuko you are in for a competition so remain focus and leave petty gossip. As a degree holder you should have out grown all this. Don,t make Tolu loose his aim please.
CareerYour Job Or Your Part-time Studies Which Will You Choose. by cleversecj(op): 4:39pm On Jul 20, 2010
I just got this job and at the same time got addmission for part-time studies.

It happened that this versity run their lectures all through the week. Though, it is not convenient for me but i enjoy it because it's like the only opportunity i've got since i finished 4rm secondary school and 4rm college of education. I don't attend lectures  which starts by 4.00pm monday through friday because i close by 5.00pm and i don't take permission to go for lectures, i close the normal time. But i have exams now and my boss is beginning to complain, i promised to resume to office every morning b4 going to the hall, twice in a week, this week and next week.

Though the salary is not up to 40k but i spend btw 500k/600k per day on transportation & feeding but i need this money to support education.

If the worst come to the worst say my boss ask me to chose between my job and my studies, if you were in my shoe which will you choose.

Please, advice me wisely.

Used to flying below the radar at work? Think not being noticed will keep your job safe? Not anymore. The best strategy now is to figure out how you can raise your visibility at work - in positive ways.

Additionally, if your job is tedious or repetitive, you can request alternative activities to break up the monotony of your every day work. No matter the job, it is difficult to do the exact same work all day long, even if you love the work and the customers. Your request for skill developing assignments will make you stand out.

If you're underemployed and waiting for your next opportunity at work, request work that will help you grow into your next assignment. If you're thinking about looking for a new job, make your requests for more challenging work visible. Don't sit back and wait for your manager to give you something new or exciting to do. This is always the wrong approach.

Your manager is busy, too, and while your development as a person and employee may be important to your manager, he or she cannot read your mind. It is helpful to work in a company with a performance development planning process in place.

There, you have the opportunity to talk with your supervisor, at least quarterly, about issues such as your development and career growth. But, no matter your company's employment practices, you have the right to ask and to care about your career and personal development and visibility at work.

Six Tips to Raise Your Visibility at Work

These ideas will help you help your boss help you:

* Ask for more responsible assignments so you can exhibit that you deserve them and that your skills are underutilized. Go to your manager with specific suggestions about how you think you can contribute to improvement, departmental efficiency, or creating a new process or method. Make it easy for him or her to help you.

* Volunteer to represent your department at meetings, on planning committees, and on projects. A proactive approach to work is noticed by the bosses. Working on cross-functional teams also gives your talents exposure outside of your own work area. This is helpful when promotions or lateral opportunities become available. A "known" employee has the advantage over one who is not known.

* Build your relationship with your boss. Check in with him or her periodically whether you need to or not. The boss is a person, too. Don't make fake requests or pretend ignorance if you really have the answer. But, running the answer by the boss, telling the boss what's on your mind, and making suggestions for improvement are generally welcome interactions. You don't have to share your private life, or be friends with your boss and coworkers, but a friendly, supportive relationship matters for success and visibility.

* If you have skills that you are not using in your current position, look for opportunities to keep in practice. Use them; don't lose them. These opportunities will also bring wider company exposure and broaden your organization's thinking about what you can do. So, as an example, your creative talents, your willingness to experiment, or your ability to mediate conflicts will make you stand out as an employee.

* Request the opportunity to participate in seminars and training classes. Ask to belong to your relevant professional development association and for the opportunity to participate in its events. Then, visibly apply the new opportunities back in the workplace. Take the application one step further.

Tell your boss and coworkers what you learned and how you plan to apply the new information at work. This has three advantages. Your improvement efforts improve your visibility and teaching others is the best way to make sure you've really learned the concepts. Finally, your coworkers benefit from the time you spent and the knowledge you gained at the session.

* If your company has book clubs or interactive brown bag lunches on topics, get involved or start them. Make sure your boss has factored the time into your schedule so you can become involved. Just like the activities mentioned earlier, this participation brings all the benefits of broader visibility and you can be observed by others in thoughtful discussion.

These tips about employee training and development will give you more thoughts on how you can pursue your personal professional development at work.

@ cleverwhatever-who-thinks-I-am-being-funny: My problem is how people like you never give yourselves any credit. Is it a nigerian thing to thank God for your admission to a university, for passing your exams, for graduating, for knowing when to eat, drink, piss, f^#@k, etc.?Dont you guys ever do anything for  and, by yourselves?. I mean, give yourself credit for getting off your too religious behind in the first place. I personally wish it was that easy. Then all you have to do is just pray for your university degree, etc., etc. I hope you get my drift. Congratulations for getting the job on YOUR OWN MERIT. Leave God out of this ish. He is too busy solving more urgent problems!  Not forget "your source of employment"? Dude/baby, you dont get it. Your employer does not love you, does not believe in God, and only wishes you will stay alive to work for him/serve him forever. Did he already tell you that your children or relatives have a place in his enterprise/company, or that your wife could be his housekeeper? Modern slavery! With a little creativity you could, one day, buy him and his company.grin grin grin grin grin grin. Just think about that before you submit to the will of jesus/ buddah, ogun, mohammed, krishna, shalom, asal alaiwahtever,  cheesy cheesy grin grin grin grin grin. Congratulate yourself first, then repeat whatever it was that you did that resulted in this success. I wish you more of the same.

You are very funny, is not as if one does not give one's self credit , but as a person i have to thank God first which should be applicable to everyone under the sun, pafuri, i know i merited it but it was just the favour of God, what if, for instance a member of the panel has a person for that post or something sha happened this is 9ja anything could happen, maybe u're not a nigerian.

What is the way out of this shameful and disgraceful act that is slowly bringing down our great reputation. State of emergengency is not a solution. If you are suggesting a state of emergency for this state what will be declared in Jos and maybe Kaduna.

Take a mirrow, look at it very well, the figure you see has that solution.

Lets stop pointing fingers on anybody even the so called ungoverned governors past and present.

Post solutions and lets stop over stressing the problem we already know exist.

My peace,

I appreciate your contribution, thank God we were able to drag you from the HR tread that is taking most of your time now but all the same you are doing well.

I have little challenge in my new place of work as a secretary to the MD, I don't have much to do, the only thing i can say I've done since I assume duty here is to make tea and type on one or two occassion. Even when he travelled when i joined the organisation, he never told me and i felt bad.

Please, should i always ask my boss what he wants me to do?

Secondly, he is always attending meetings outside the organisation should i ask him to allow me access to his dairy?

I know is too early to start complaining but the earlier the better.

House Help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!am bored it's already one month.

long time!!!   another thread is taking my time!

l think the national minimum wage law says N7,500.  There is no specific amount  attached to any position in the private sector as long as its above the minimum wage and the applicants accepts to collect it, then no wahala.  lt all depends on what you can aford to pay.  Again, salary differs from industry to industry.  What a secretary/PA collects in an oil industry will surely be different from Banking industry and this your Agric industry.
As l said there is no generic salary structure.

Just as beau1 has rightly said, are you suggesting a secretary be  paid N7,500 simply because the minimum wage is N7,500. My dear in organisations now (private sector) cleaners receive nothing less than N25,000 in my office and remember cleaners are unskilled workers not to talk of a secretary who is a skilled worker. The secretary we are talking here is not a casual worker but a full permanent staff.

I have worked  in the HR department close to six years and i made my sugestion from experience, there is no standard organisation that does not have a salary structure and so the salary of a secretary can also be determined from there, lets stop seeing our field as a common field , we are not beggers, if the secretary is not well paid before you know what is happening he/she will start attending interviews within six months she has gotten a better place and this is not good enough for any organisation especially a new one.

PRD, You might even be lucky to get somebody who is well experienced in the field but may not ask up to that amount. Pay your secretary well if you want the best hand.

Thanks

Friends, I am talking from experience, a very close friend died as a result of quack in that field, she was treated for malaria and thyphoid instead of a common fever, as her health became worst, she went back for them for them to run the test all over again, that was when they discover she was not sick of malaria or thyphoid but the harm has already been done as she died few weeks later.

It's a very long story which i can't really go in details, so lets be cautious.

So friends which is better to waste lifes or to take more time to study.

Great Laswhite!!!!!great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
