OPEC members and key oil producers from outside the cartel will meet on April 17 in Doha in a bid to stabilise falling crude prices, Qatari energy minister Mohammed al-Sada said Wednesday. The meeting is a “follow-up” to last month’s talks between Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela when they proposed an accord to freeze oil output at January levels, said a statement from Sada, the current OPEC president. He said 15 countries accounting for some 73 per cent of global oil output supported the initiative, including the world’s top exporter Saudi Arabia, and Russia. Russian energy minister Alexander Novak said this week that the meeting will “probably” be held in April. [img][/img] Oil prices, which have plummeted more than 60 per cent since mid-2014 partly because of oversupply, recently recovered slightly following talk of an output freeze. But Novak’s comments put pressure on oil prices after he indicated Iran could be excluded from a freeze deal to allow it to increase its crude production after Western sanctions over its nuclear programme. One of the world’s biggest producers, Iran, returned to the export market in January. According to OPEC’s monthly report released on Monday, Iran pumped out 3.1 million barrels per day of crude in February, up from 2.9 million in January. It pumped 4.0 million bpd before sanctions were imposed. Overall production by the 13-nation cartel fell by 175,000 barrels per day in February to an average of 32.28 million bpd, largely because of a steep drop in Iraqi output and smaller falls in Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates, the report said. Oil prices rebounded on Wednesday as investors bought back into the black gold after a two-day sell-off. At around 0600 GMT, US benchmark West Texas Intermediate for delivery in April was up 1.62 per cent, or 59 cents, to $36.93. Brent for May was up 1.21 per cent, or 47 cents, at $39.21. http://www.punchng.com/40751-2/ |
What raised my eyebrow is the bail of N400,000 for a case of N309,000. Meanwhile some of top Government officials who stole Billions are asked to pay meagre amount for their crimes. Where is equity in Law? |
While the guy should be looking for ways to ensure that lasting peace is restored to Agatu, and that those displaced are resettled he is collecting titles. Anyway, thank God for our politicians cos if not for them we could have fallen into anarchy. Meanwhile, @lalasticlala good morning. |

Personally, I have observed that there are higher rates of fire due to petrol tankers during fuel scarcity... |
In recent weeks, Nigerians have seen an increase in the prices of petroleum products, as well as queues at fuel stations across the country. Nigerians are heavily dependent on fuel for the different socio-economic activities they carry out daily, hence the harsh suffering the scarcity has inflicted on the populace. While the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has repeatedly assured the citizenry that the fuel situation will not last, it appears to get worse daily as the price of the product keeps rising at the black markets while scarcity reigns at the fuel stations. According to a source in the petroleum industry, who spoke to YNaija, the fuel scarcity is caused by incompetence and corruption in the Pipelines And Products Marketing Company Limited (PPMC), an agency of the NNPC charged with security of supply of petroleum products imported by the NNPC to the domestic market. While noting the dire effect of the fuel scarcity on business, our source stated that: “Don’t be fooled by anyone. How can this never ending fuel scarcity make sense? The ongoing hardship in the nation due to the persistent fuel queues is primarily caused by the PPMC leadership.” Speaking further, the source said officials within the agency revealed that contrary to widespread belief that PPMC doesn’t import petrol, the company actually imported 24 cargoes of petrol products in January and another 25 cargoes in February. A total of about 800, 000 to 1 million Metric Tonnes (MT) was imported every month by both the PPMC and independent marketers under the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) scheme, the source said. This quantity of crude imported into the country can easily kill off the fuel crisis beleaguering the country, however, this is not the case because of the alleged corruption and incompetence in the PPMC, wherein petrol products are sent to selected private depots instead of PPMC depots for onward transfer to Independent Petroleum Marketer of Nigeria (IPMAN) and Major Oil Marketers Association Nigeria (MOMAN) depots. These private depots, according to our source, are holding the country to ransom as they lack the ‘substantial retail network’ and are also selling the products at prices above the N86.50 stipulated by the federal government. “MOMAN with over 40% of retail stations were left with no product to distribute,” the source said. Sources within the industry also disclosed that with the level of incompetence showed by officials at PPMC, “this administration is seen to support the increasing disregard for the government regulated price by these marketers.” Many wonder why President Muhammadu Buhari, who also doubles as the Minister of Petroleum Resources, is yet to take action considering that this isn’t the first time the PPMC has displayed poor understanding of oil distribution in the country. “There has been a call for a probe into how the product imported by NNPC has been distributed yet nothing has been done,” another source says. It would be recalled that YNaija had earlier reported that the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, announced that the NNPC would be broken down to 30 companies. It remains to be seen how the federal government plans to manage the new companies considering the difficulty previous and current administrations have had, in managing the NNPC alone. To gauge the feelings of Nigerians on this, YNaija is running a poll on twitter. http://ynaija.com/corruption-ppmc-fuel-scarcity-nigeria/ |
Good initiative. The state Government still need to disemminate this information to the grassroots through its ministry of info. But come to think of it, Anambra one of the smallest states in terms of Land mass is one of the biggest in terms of initiatives and development. |
I thought the Nigerian President has learnt from the way the Tanzania president does his things. Anyway, please inform me when it is time for Biafran election, I want to contest for the post of Senate President... |

Mr David Ahmed Okoro started the day early, having set his alarm clock (MADE IN FINLAND) for 6am. While his teapot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his clipper (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on his shirt (MADE IN THE UK), and designer jeans (MADE IN ITALY) and shoes (MADE IN THE USA). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric cooker (MADE IN INDIA) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his wristwatch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to his radio (MADE IN VIETNAM) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY) filled with petrol imported from (SAUDI ARABIA) and continued his search for a good paying NIGERIAN job... At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his computer (MADE IN MALAYSIA), Mr David Ahmed Okoro decided to relax for a while. He put on his slippers (MADE IN BRAZIL) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN SOUTH AFRICA), while fiddling with his mobile phone (MADE IN SOUTH KOREA), and then wondered why he cant find a good paying job in... NIGERIA. He felt achy and sore in his left knee, he decided to take one tablet of his TRAMADOL TABLETS (MADE IN BANGLADESH) to relieve the pain. Lying down on his bed and wondering why NIGERIAN External Foreign Reserve has depleted to under $ 28billion which has translated to free fall depreciation of Nigerian NAIRA to US DOLLAR at PARALLEL MARKET....... Fellow Nigerians, let's us start producing, let us start buying made in NIGERIA goods If our economy is to grow and create better jobs. How can a country like Nigeria be importing toothpick, cutting bud, cotton wool, matches, rubber band e.t.c? And we complain at d same time that there is no jobs for our teeming youths? The situation is even pathetic now when you see Nigerians ( in Lagos) prefer Cotonou garri to that of Ijebu, buy cotonou pineapple and they say it is better than that of Nigeria. That is why frozen foods will be exported to Cotonou from farms like that of obasanjo repacked and imported back to Nigeria because they know Nigerians always prefer made in outside Nigeria goods . That is why you will see an expatriate renumeration will be juicy than that of his Nigeria counterpart even if that Nigerian is more certificated than d expatriate ( This also happen in government parastatals). Any nation that import majorly foreign made goods/ services rather than producing their own are hurting its people.... When we keep importing foreign made products into Nigeria, we keep importing poverty into our country and exporting jobs abroad... Let's go back to the land to grow and patronise MADE IN NIGERIA products... PLEASE SHARE FREELY TO ENLIGHTEN ALL NIGERIANS. Copied |
People of all ages are becoming more and more addicted to their smartphones, tablets, laptops. Think about how many times have you been trying to speak to someone, but he or she was looking on their smartphone or when you tried to have a conversation with a person who was staring blankly at their laptop? It’s rude, highly annoying and spreading across all members and areas of society. But what would our relationships be like if we put away the phone and started paying attention to people? What if you were checking your smartphone only when alone? You should definitely try it yourself, because here is what we found out: putting away your phone can improve your relationships with everyone. Here is what will happen when you do it: 1. You'll Become A Role Model Eye contact has always been and will be vital in speaking with people. We want to see another’s eyes. It not only means someone is paying attention, but allows for us to be able to read or gauge what someone else may be thinking or feeling. And when you stop checking you phone every second, and show more interest in the person you're speaking to - this person will do the same. Look, it's not a secret to anyone, that we use our phones too much. So when you put down yours, people will do the same because they will feel uncomfortable using it. You can easily do this by asking them some very basic questions such as where they work, where they may have gone to school, what hobbies they may have, or what sports they may enjoy. 2. You'll Become More Likable Don't tell anyone about your phone ban, believe me, no one will ask you why you're spending so little time starring on your phone. But at the same time everyone will notice the changes in you. If your smartphone is away, your eyes are on the person, and you are smiling and engaging them in conversation. You will be amazed at how people will become attracted to you. Putting away your phone makes people feel appreciated and respected. Because simply nodding, but looking at your phone when someone is trying to talk to you is not the best way to show someone your respect. 3. You'll Seem To Be More Trustworthy You need to remove all distractions and give people your full attention to gain their trust. When meeting with a new prospect, customer, or stakeholder, put away your phone. Your ability to establish a trusting and high-quality relationship with this individual may be significantly improved by this one simple act. In fact, share the research cited above with your contact. Keeping your Blackberry or iPhone out of sight during the meeting is a great way to show engagement. If this is not possible, it may be better to postpone the meeting to such a time when a cellphone is not needed. Remember, keeping your smartphone out of reach and out of mind will keep your relationship goals within reach and top of mind. http://job.naij.com/tips-How+Putting+Down+Your+Phone+Will+Solve+All+Your+Relationship+Problems-370-page-3

One girl just may have found a solution to an ages-old conundrum, how to keep other women off your man. In an image shared online, she is seen standing with her boyfriend who doesn’t look so pleased with her idea. She made him wear a shirt with three images of her and on its front are the words: “If you are reading this, you are too close. I have a girlfriend.” And for emphasis, she underlined the word ‘girlfriend’. This idea may help reduce the amount of HBP in our ladies... Or don't you think so? http://amibor.com/see-how-this-lady-keeps-other-girls-away-from-her-man/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+%2Fworkerspace+%28Jobs%2CNews%2CEntertainment%2CSports%2CGossips%29 CC: lalasticlala
