Nothing makes sense with all these kidnapping cases. Whenever the criminals are caught, they look like they haven’t eaten in weeks. There’s no way they’re the ones benefiting from those millions they collect in ransom.

But after they’re caught. The case dies. Nothing is ever heard about it again. No court case. No sentencing. No follow up. No sponsors named. Rinse and repeat.

Someone’s lying.

Why aren’t they employing Nigerians?

Probably waiting for bribe from the locals while letting their low self esteem direct them into hiring more foreigners

Nigeria is still one of the cheapest if not the cheapest countrie to get a quality mbbs certificate
But I asked for figures.

How much is the average total cost of education for a doctor. From year one to the end. And what’s their average yearly income in Nigeria when they practice.

Figures only.

I’ll give you example of the figure I’m talking about.

USA doctors spend an average of $200k total for their education. And earn average $200k yearly.

Income Varies a lot from state to state and also depends on specialty. But this is an average.

So by figures, we can say USA doctors on average spend the equivalent of their one year salary on their entire education. $200k is a lot of money. So obviously compared to Nigeria it’s expensive. But we’re not comparing it to Nigeria because Nigerian doctors don’t earn dollars

So pls what’s the ratio of Nigerian doctors education cost versus their income.?

First, tell us how much do Nigerian doctors pay in total for their education versus how much they earn yearly in income?
Politics › Re: Salaries Of Doctors & Lawmakers In Nigeria Vs In US, UK, SA & Kenya (Video) by cococandy(f): 11:26am On Aug 24, 2024
Then they talk crap about cheap education as if it’s cheap relative to the income. Compared to the income in Nigeria, education is not cheap. I’d say it’s actually expensive if you look at it percentage wise.

It’s only cheap relative to USA and 🇬🇧 income. Such a weird comparison.
Instead of them to look for way to retain healthcare workers, they’re trying to make their lives more difficult to see if they can trap them that way.

malali:
Every country pays doctors more than senators and congressmen.
Except Nigeria.

Nigeria pays senators more,
The doctors run abroad to USA, UK

The senators now take the money they should have used to pay the doctors, they use these funds to go abroad for treatment.
Instead of paying the Nigerian doctor $500, they would go and spend $50,000 for a single doctors visit in USA/UK.

The senators pretend they don't know why healthcare workers are leaving the country in droves.

Family › Re: You Can’t Get 50% Of Husband’s Properties After A Divorce in Nigeria - Lawyer by cococandy(f): 3:58pm On Aug 23, 2024
1st of all. Yes it doesn’t take too much to be a good wife. I agree with that part.

But as far as women marrying to escape poverty, many men have said they don’t want a woman who has a flourishing career. They want a woman who’s available whenever needed to tend to his needs and the kids. They’ve made it clear her primary responsibility is to make sure his and the kids needs are met.

A lot of your women have internalized these values and as such positioned themselves to aim for nothing more than a minor financial contributor rather than a financial equal in the relationship. Now why should a woman who’s agreed to these roles be okay with marrying a poor man? That means she’s resigned herself to a life of poverty. Is that what you’re truly asking them to do? To be okay with poverty, strife and want?

You made the rules of what marriage are. What the roles are supposed to be and who’s supposed to do what. Don’t judge the women for conforming to the rules you made.

This is not a case of women being bad wives because they want to marry up. It’s a case of women doing what they’ve been told they’re supposed to do.

The problem is that financial realities on ground do not support these traditional values as much and most people have refused to adapt to their new realities. The men are crying about women not marrying them if they don’t have money but ask him what a man’s responsibility in the home is and they’ll quickly tell you he’s supposed to provide. How? They have to pick a side.

Now more women than ever are equal financial partners with their husbands even if that’s not what they would’ve wanted. Yet the men have refused to budge on their views of marriage roles. Hence the constant clashes.

So I think what you’re saying is different from what I’m pointing out. A woman marrying a man because he can provide doesn’t mean she won’t mind killing him for his property and money. That’s such a huge reach. Regardless of the negativity on the internet about marriage, I believe most people at least marry someone they like. Killing them to get money that you’ll end up spending alone and in a house with no one to talk to is such an extreme solution I don’t think it’s at all as common as people imagine it is.

joseph1832:
Neither does it take too much to be a loving and caring wife. You see, in Nigeria today, many women see and use marriage as a means to escape poverty and all manner of misery. The very reason you hear many women say openly "they can never marry a poor man". Now, with such a mindset, it is only prudent to agree that such women, won't even mind plotting the murder of their husband, if they know they can't manipulate or even control him.

So you see, a man can hardly be a loving and caring husband to a wife, who married him for the sole purpose of his poverty and money, no matter how loving and caring he is, he will always be an obstacle.

So, using your marriage as a yardstick isn't the main purpose here, for the fact that lawyer came out openly to say this, it shows the perverse thinking of some women in Nigeria.

You’ve made no sense.

You said stigma is the reason why divorces are low in Nigeria. And I gave you reasons why stigma is the wrong reason to stay in a marriage.

I said Instead, marriages should last because the people in it feel good about the relationship and want to maintain it rather than staying for fear of stigma.
This is such an elementary concept that it should be hard to understand.

And this is your response? Literally off tangent and meaningless.

Wow .

dont know why you parade your assumptions as fact, did you carry out a survey or you have a stat ,
Talking of support, my neighbour drives his pregnant wife to work everyday n return home, is that not love, is that not support, he got her the job which i know about
couples like that is also why divorce rate is low ..

if modern marriages is filled with conditional love, then their is nothing odd about having a "Reason" to stay in marriage smiley

maybe it my accent, I don't think divorce sounds better than "stigma" .. divorces breaks a home and stigma breaks a person ... tbh i dont know why you have a preference undecided

joseph1832:
if this is so, then the best thing for some women to do, is to murder their husbands, in other to get their wealth. The amount of men dying from various things nowadays is alarming.
But it doesn’t take too much to be a good husband. I don’t know why our Nigerian men would rather scheme and play games than just follow the easy path.

Be a husband your wife can’t imagine living without. Do to her as you want her to do to you and you won’t be afraid of such things.

I can proudly beat my chest and say the way my husband is to me now, no amount of money will make me give him up. The money won’t even be fun to spend without him. The point of money is to enjoy it with people who you know got you in all kinds of situations. Otherwise it’s pointless. What am I doing with a big mansion if there’s no one I love to share it with?

So if a woman would rather pick property and money over the man, it means he’s worth less than money to her. There’s something definitely wrong in that arrangement.

Family › Re: You Can’t Get 50% Of Husband’s Properties After A Divorce in Nigeria - Lawyer by cococandy(f): 12:22pm On Aug 23, 2024
You should have low divorce rates because spouses are feeling loved and cherished by each other. They want to stay with each other. They want to stay married because they feel supported by their communities. Because their kids are happy in the homes they’ve built. They can grow personally and as a couple.

Marriage shouldn’t last because there’s a stigma around divorce. Stigma is not a good thing. It has never been.
What it does is that it shames people into not reaching out for help, for support. Shames them into putting up with dangerous situations. Stigma is disgusting. Do better

If they embrace this strategy, banditry, terrorism and kidnap will reduce by 95% across the country. Most marauders keep their captives in forests. Well done to the police for arresting these fools.

And it’s the same guys that’ll use a successful lady as an example to taunt the ones who are not doing well.

That is why after all their rants, they still end up the women they speak against. That is what their egos can handle. Go on IG and TikTok, you will see lots of credible travel groups. There is this girl that works remotely, she has one and she clearly states it is for working women. To avoid any drama in transit. It is before people (women) were scared of traveling. Now even if it is Benin Republic, they go.

And why must it be prostitution? Are there no women dating wealthy men again? I see women who go on these trips with their men and they don't hide it.

They think she got to lead all those organizations by sitting in her house and waiting for them to come hand it to her? This is one of the biggest reasons other races feel superior. It is a war like the war between South Africans/Nigerians

Lighter skinned races are always going to tell you the darker skinned ones are devils, when you support them you ironically prove that they are superior
