I just wanna tell you guys...Akin and all that your GP isn't the only thing schools consider in the admission process. I know someone with a 4.38 who was denied at UOttawa yet someone with a 3.52 was admitted. The key is having volunteer experience + work experience but I would say more emphasis on volunteer and your statement of purpose. These people don't really care about your GP...how have you applied the knowledge you have gained to your community and life? Its not just about heaping degrees on your CV.

Also for those who want to study but lack funds, before applying look for the list of professors, know their area of interest and if they have received research grants for any project (particularly research related to Africa). Tailor your research proposal to meet their grants and inform them in your statement of purpose that you would love to work with that professor as you are very much interested in that research area and as an African you are seeking means by which to develop your nation bla bla bla. With the whites, all you have to do is ask and you shall receive. Use your African heritage to your advantage.
