FamilyRe: My Friend Wants To Chase Me Out Because Of Ordinary Milk by CoCoLav(f):
Some comments here are shocked shocked shocked shocked
Even if he heaped the spoonfuls of milk, the wife was soooo disrespectful to scream at him. That is not how you treat guests no matter what they are doing (Except sexual harrassment). When it comes to matters like this, you talk to your husband in private if its really such a big deal and leave him to handle it. The wife was very disrespectful in my opinion and OP is right to say ordinary milk. Living with a woman is always a problem. Why? You are living with your friend, the moment his girlfriend moves in, she will start finding fault in everything you do. Same thing with a couple. You live with your brother, he gets married and immediately the wife starts making the home uncomfortable for you. OP is right to call it ordinary milk. What is milk that you would embarrass somebody just because of it. 50 naira milkhuh. As women, we really need to check ourselves and our behaviour towards others. This world moves and today you may be up and tomorrow you may be down, nothing lasts forever, that your husband's friend is staying with you does not mean he will live with you forever. If he is doing things you dont like, start praying that God should uplift him so he can leave the house. That same friend may be the one that will take care of your kids tomorrow if you guys are no longer there. In this life, no situation is permanent.

OP, I feel sorry for you and wish you get another place to live soon. Nevertheless, do not harbour any bitterness in your heart towards the wife. Women have the tendency to abuse power whenever they have it.

Bollocks! Combine everything in there and the result is ATTITUDE

Esp when you talk about your number 2-5 they're basically the same thing. Problem is an average black woman, when she gets to a certain stage in her career develops an attitude feeling her level is unattainable. No man wants unnecessary headache.

How many persons here has seen a rich lady that's humble? There are but they are rare.
They'd want to make sure they smear it in your face that's why you see most of them end up miserable.

I'm making my own money so anyone with unnecessary attitude can quietly bugger off.
I know that to you Nigerian guys, that 'attitude' means their refusal/inability to take the bu.llshit you guys dish out regularly because they have attained the awareness that they deserve better.

Having given up the ghost, I was told they recorded the death time as 4am of the fateful, my family was contacted and my corpse was taken back to India in another 13 hours flight; on getting back to India, my corpse was deposited in the mortuary

Is that clear enough?
Your quote does not address my question.

but after some minutes I woke up and I felt cold so I started shouting and when one of the nurses heard me, instead of coming to my rescue she ran away out of fear. My surgeon heard me and came to bring me out from the mortuary

How Nigerian police handles small thief vs big thief

Yesterday the officers of the Nigerian Police force celebrated the arrest of a notorious kidnap kingpin, a multi billion naira man with luxurious lifestyle. Reports have it that he wears a wrist watch worth $170,000.

While it was a feat worth celebrating and talked about, there are certain observations from the parade and it looks weired.

1. The Evans kidnapper appeared so confident in photos as opposed to a remorseful and terrified criminal we see in the past
2. The officers did not rough handle him like of men on black normally do
3. He appeared like one of our politicians like Dasuki, Metu, and FFK on their way to court
4. The officers parading him appeared like escorts
5. All gang members well seated vs other cases where they seat on the ground

We just hope we'll see the end of this matter and not swept under the rug as soon as Nigerians forget
They can jeopardize the case by malhandling him. Lawyers can use defences like 'due process was not followed in the process of arresting him' to dismiss the case. If you notice, he was not beaten as well. If he was beaten, his lawyers can also claim injuries and counter sue the police force which will prolong the case. Dont forget he has the resources to hire the best SANs money can get. In more civilized countries, a mere failure to read Miranda rights can jeopardize a case completely even if they caught the suspect in the act. Even his confession was done in front of the media so that no lawyer can claim the confession was forced or made under duress. The police men handling this case are obviously more experienced and of a higher rank than those 20 and 50 naira police men you find on the road.

The difference with the small thief is that those who arrest him dont really care about justice.. They just want to collect bail money. Also there is no public scrutiny or even the commissioner's scrutiny on these small cases. Sometimes, the DPO is not even aware of the arrest because it is a side hustle for the seargents and constables.

I paused at that part too. Such thinking will not move you forward. It's like saying I did not pass because my teacher does not like me.

Look internally and assess what you are doing wrong and where you need improvement. Attitude matters a lot, it is not just about gathering certificates.
FamilyRe: I Am Confused. Please Help by CoCoLav(f): 8:48pm On May 25, 2017
Your husband is finding happiness the way he wants to. Dont stress yourself, you only live once. That you are married does not mean someone has the permission to make you die of emotional frustration. Ignore him, if you dress shabbily, start dressing well not for HIM but for yourself. Lastly, get a job and you will be surprised how busy you will get you wont even notice his indiscretions. If it bothers you too much, work late until you are sure he would have finished his visiting before you return home. He keeps doing it because he knows it is affecting you, when you stop showing it is affecting you, he will start to rethink his actions.

Americans are so good at profiling others of what they themselves are guilty of. Our yahoo boys are learners where they are, talk about hacking, fake credit cards, fake receipts et al were all cons started by their own citizens. They've(Americans) now upgraded to pinching millions in the stock market by cloning while naija boys are pulling credit card scams.

Let's not also forget that up till now America is still exploiting Africa particularly oil producing countries even making Africa a dump site when their stupid innovations get rejected by Asians

I can perceive her hurt from her write up, she's probably been a victim of yahoo boy, cry on baby. 180 million people are also victims of your government's mass exploitation
They bring their dangerous chemical products to test on African skin because they dont have FDA approval in their country. They bribe our officials to allow them bring those products in and make our country a dumping ground resulting in outbreak of several diseases. What do you call that?

I am not trying to justify what some Nigerians do but the writer of that opinion-ed is very myopic. Does she think Americans are saints? Last I checkd, white collar crime is still a crime.
CrimeRe: Why I Don’t Like Nigerians By Robert Lindsay, A US Citizen by CoCoLav(f): 4:05pm On May 17, 2017
They also have their own scammers too, they just dont put it in the media. Just now, I got a message that a bank account I dont even have has been blocked and I should click a link to unblock it.

Their Kijiji rental scams nko? just google rental scams and you will see how they scam people on a large scale. Some Nigerians are fraudulent but thats the same way some Americans/Mexicans/Italians/Europeans are fraudulent. No need to blame an entire race/country as if scam originated from us.

America has a country that rewards hardwork yet they still have scammers. I will only believe Nigeria is headed for destruction and innately corrupt when we have access to everything a citizen should and people still choose to scam instead of work hard. That should be the measurement in my opinon.

If you dont like the situation of things, you change it.
All we do is complain and point out the injustice but we do absolutely nothing about it.

We put them there, we can take them out.
Power belongs with the people, we just dont know how to make use of the power we have at our disposal.

I saw a review somewhere on the wedding party but i couldn't copy it. It narrows my exact thoughts about the movie. I have never seen a more over-hyped movie in my life until wedding party was released. I don't know if i'm the only one seeing double.
The movie is so overhyped. I was really disappointed after watching it. It lacks content..just a lot of pomp and pageantry with good picture quality.

I am sure she ate the food out of spite, same way he bought the food out of spite to show her he can afford to.
Me I will eat the food and ask for a cold drink to wash it down. Sometimes, the energy you have wasted on somebody must be replenished.

My kind of woman. The nerve some guys have though undecided

They want you to act like a wife and perform full wifely duties but dont think they should do it the right way. If you need a wife, go and marry.

RomanceRe: After Dating For 7 Years, He Called Off Our Engagement. by CoCoLav(f): 1:19pm On May 10, 2017
OP, I guess you are the first/only daughter and you are igbo. cheesy First daughters are a symbol of pride and I get where your mum is coming from. Your boyfriend I believe after seven years should have known the kind of family you come from and so should have known the type of gifts to bring. Most of the people commenting here wont dare bring cheap/fake wine to their prospective in-laws. Its because you mentioned gold thats why their mouths are running. As the poster before me said, whatever is worth doing is worth doing well. How can you buy cheap items for the girl you want to marry knowing very well her family background? Its like buying cheap ankara you know her mother will never ever wear. Where is the pride in that? How many of you guys bought cheap ankara instead of hollandis for your prospective mother in laws? You saw that ankara was cheaper but that element of respect wont allow you buy the cheap ankara.

I am not saying he should have bought things he ordinarily cannot afford like a car or the most expensive wristwatches but have some respect for the parents of your future wife. Imagine buying something so cheap for your prospective inlaws that the very next day it starts to peel off, wont that be embarrassing? For the mum to have sent the items to the girl, it means she was trying to prove that she was not exaggerating. The guy even admitted that he didnt know the items will get to the girl which means he knew they were cheap items..maybe from Yaba or Tejuosho.

This is not the normal gift situation where it is not the value but the thought that matters. This is about showing I can take care of your daughter...thats African culture. If OP had fought because she wants Instagram wedding, thats a different story and she can be blamed.

OP you even messed up too. You are supposed to ask what he is taking and plan together so that where you see he is falling short, you add money to it and help him save face in front of your parents. Your manner of approach must have also added to his fury and words must have been said. Next time, try to find a better way to approach the topic, maybe by suggesting he buy additional items and take to your family, you dont have to tell him exactly what your mum said but be tactful and diplomatic. Your mum just wants to be able to show her friends what her prospective son-in-law bought for her especially if you are the only daughter. She may also be worried that he may not be able to take care of you to the standard you were brought up and you may end up being the breadwinner. No parents want their child to suffer.

Your parents obviously dont need his money or his gifts, they need him to show how much he values their daughter and it is obvious from the china gifts he bought just how much he values you.
