codedcliq:This was my comment over 2 years ago. When Nigerians are ready, they know what to do. Useless politicians. |
blacknp:You obviously lack comprehension. |
blacknp:And is he not part of the shameless lot? |
Useless politicians. 25 years of so called democracy and the country still can’t boast of ordinary drinking water or good roads. Shameless people. |
Falcons didn’t step up their game today as the Brazil team was really not excellent. Wrong line up by the coach honestly. No need benching your best wingers in Uchenna Kanu and Asisat Oshoala if the replacements (Echiegini and Ihezuo) can’t even control ball. Even the Esther Okoronkwo introduced at half time sef, no impact. They can definitely do better than this. BTW: Halimat Ayinde’s experience was sorely missed. |
Brendaniel:lol, now I believe most of you are brainwashed and propaganda is your only weapon. Thank God for the liberals that are now waking up to see you all for who you really are. It’s on record that your forebears first significant loss was their unfortunate sojourn to Ore. Did the people of Abonnema and other Midwest towns also attack your forebears first? |
Brendaniel:Left peacefully? Wage war to bring who back? What were your forebears looking for in Ore? |
kbower:I've advised some close friends on this. That you want to japa doesn't mean there shouldn't be a fall back option. If you don't have a property in 9ja, you can still keep your rented apartment and belongings till you settle really well in your new country before you dispose them, just in case... I feel your pain man... but try and clear your head a little. Your wife may not be playing games yet. You owe a lot to your kids for better life so get them and yourself to UK asap. You will be working full time so you will be able to secure a decent apartment for the family in no time. It's after this you can know if truly your wife is playing games. 11years is a fairly long time and I don't think you want to throw it all away now, especially with kids involved. You can also have a plan b as you settle in UK. Apply for Canada PNP in one of the less competitive provinces. A change of environment may be necessary to keep your home intact. All the best man. |
Born2conquer:Your point 5 is very valid. Some peeps here just talk as if 9ja is Afghanistan or Syria. |
JAMO84:I have to quote you cos I know some people carry this opinion as well in favour of so called "subsidy removal". How much was a litre in the countries you mentioned when fuel in Nigeria was N65, N85, N97, N125... ? Increase fuel price to N500/Litre in Nigeria and it will simply get to equivalent N1000 / N1500 per litre in those countries... and then we start another round of saying "fuel price is higher in neighbouring countries" to justify another increase. Solution: We have no business importing refined petroleum products. Fix the damn refineries and in addition, make the so called "illegal refineries" legal by infusing technical know-how to modernize the practice. |
Modrov:Thank you for your response. Quoting you, the vaccines "appear to work" not that you're certain it works. Even WHO is not certain. https://nairametrics.com/2021/08/21/who-issues-call-for-experts-to-help-with-covid-origins-probe/ https://www.thesun.co.uk/health/15944033/new-virus-variant-covid22-more-deadly-delta/amp/?utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=sunmaintwitter&utm_source=Twitter https://www.insider.com/pfizer-ceo-vaccine-resistant-coronavius-variant-likely-2021-8?amp&__twitter_impression=true If that's the case, don't you feel it's more appropriate if those that want to take the vaccine let them feel free to take it and those who have doubts, let them be with their choices... https://unherd.com/thepost/bombshell-study-finds-natural-immunity-superior-to-vaccination/?s=08
|
Modrov:Just a question at bolded. Since this is a new disease and we are still learning new things about it, why the coercion or outright forcing people to take vaccine for a disease we are still learning about? |
peeps4u:Nahh, he is not interested in any intellectual discussion. Check his previous posts on this thread and you will decode. Anyhow, let's not derail the thread. Cheers |
Asquare84:Ode ni bobo yi sha ![]() |
"IMAN" mentioned over 10 times yet writer / editor didn't deem it fit to include the meaning. smh |
Funny people Closing down clubs/lounge and event centres but W Bar Lounge inside LASWA in Falomo is open to groove and party... and then politicians can do rallies but no covid scare then. Let them sha don't attempt to force their evil vaccines on Nigerians. Ruined the economy for a so-called virus with 99% recovery rate. Brainless politicians. |
autolearner:Seniors, kindly share experience on this please. |
Chikelue2000:You don't need to make silly comments to get likes. Which bank is asking you to be 21years old and have 6 years experience? Stop the misinformation. |
fergie001: So why was ambode removed again? Has it been corrected now?He wasn't following their "masterplan" |
Update: Car picked up at Tincan today. Clearing agent called to inform that container is ready to be discharged. Less traffic today cos of the public holiday so went there to pick it up. Everything went smooth. Car at home now. Will I do business with amdman again? Definitely. Thank you Amdman. Thanks to your clearing agent too. |
... as I stated earlier, I am very flexible and I bow to superior arguments. I have paid the balance to amdman's account and also notified him. The clearing agent is yet to respond. I guess he has slept already. Hopefully, we will be able to strike an agreement. My next post here will be after getting the car. Thanks everyone. |
Asquare84:It's obvious you lack understanding or you just can't comprehend simple passage. If you have nothing meaningful to say, is it not better to keep quiet? You have a lot of personal and family issues. Your time is better spent attending to them rather than dabbling into something that is beyond your cranial capacity. Ode |
portacabin:Your point number 5 - I am not asking it to be done for free. My request was simple. Give me the number of the clearing agent let me make arrangement with him. Of course that won't be free. Your point number 6 - possible with RORO but extremely difficult with container, which is what he is using. Like I stated in my last post, he has sent the number of the clearing agent and I have chatted him up. Waiting for his response. Thanks for your input. |
deepwater:Thanks. I copied you because I assume you have your car in the second container as well. I requested for the number of the clearing agent from him since July 25th so I can make arrangement for the delivery. Like I said, no major issue with his terms of contract (even if they were not spelt out before advance was paid). If he has sent the number of the clearing agent when I requested, my first post on this thread would have been the confirmation that car has arrived. He has finally sent the number of the clearing agent to me. I will contact the person to make necessary arrangements for the delivery. Thanks everyone. Like the people above said, this is just miscommunication. Though I have to add that a businessman also shouldn't be too rigid. I will update once I reach agreement with the clearing agent and also pay amdman the balance shortly. |
The time I thought I will comment on this post is when I have received my car from Amdman. However, recent happenings have necessitated this post. Preamble: I contacted Amdman concerning one of the cars he posted. Total amount (inclusive of clearing) he posted was N1.1m. I made a payment of N800k to him so he can purchase and ship. Days later, he told me the car owner is no longer willing to sell so he had to source for another. No wahala. He got one with total amount (inclusive of clearing) as N1.25m. My downpayment was still witihin 60-70% of the total cost so all was fine. He sent pictures and videos to me and posted same here. All good. Weeks later, I contacted him to send me a scanned copy of the original bill of lading. Please note scanned copy as I wasn't expecting him to courier the original to me since I am not the one clearing. First he said it wasn't ready, then later he said he will send a part of the original. After a couple of weeks, he send he can only send the Draft Bill of Lading. When I asked why he can't just scan the original Bill of Lading with his phone and send to me, below was his response verbatim "The amount of bad press that will be generated against us if anything goes wrong with anyone’s car is not something we are willing to risk" How sending a scanned copy of transport document will make anything go wrong with someone's car is what I am still trying to undestand. I have been working with shipping documents for almost 10years now so there is no risk he wants to claim that I don't know of. You can only clear your car at the Seaport if you have the original Bill of Lading and evidence to show you are the one it was consigned to. Any clearing agent here is free to counter this. Two reasons I requested for the scanned Bill of Lading 1. To apply for car financing - since I am pre-ordering the car, it is one of the required documents 2. To be able to indepently verify that actual shipment took place using the International Maritime Bureau portal He eventually sent the draft bill of lading which didn't qualify for the intended purpose. Still I moved on. Later, he sent the tracking details of the vessel / shipment to me. As at this moment, tracking details he sent is still showing that Vessel will likely arrive today, not that it has arrived. He chatted me up days ago that the ship has berthed and I should pay the balance of 450k. No wahala. I told him to send the contact of the clearing agent so I can make arrangement to have him deliver the car to my place. Let me state here that on the Invoice he sent, two conditions stood out: 1. Pick up at Lagos port 2. 2nd payment due after confirmation of vehicle purchase The Pick up at Lagos port is not something I am comfortable with. This was not communicated until I made the advance payment. His post here after he decided to be handling the clearing cost was - "buying, shipping and clearing" - not that the buyer will still have to go the port to pick up the car. Still I was ready to proceed but I told him I will rather the Agent delivers the car to my place so he should send his number let me liaise with him. Next thing he told me is quoted verbatim below: "Depending on your location, that can range from 20k to 50k" So I have to tell him facts and any clearing agent here is free to counter. If I pay a clearing agent to clear my car in Lagos ports, I expect him to deliver the car to my place (they already calculate these costs in the fees they charge). If I am outside Lagos, he is free to negotiate additional cost with me for delivery. Why will I have to go to the port to pick up a car when I am paying for clearing? I can as well just get another clearing agent to do the clearing for me then. Imagine driving a non-registered car when I am not a car dealer or clearing agent and you are stopped by the police. Nigeria police do not respect the 90days grace period. That's why we have clearing agents for this. He started threatening me with demurrage fees. Hello, you've been the one providing all the information. I can't run an independent check because you refused to provide a scanned copy of the transport document. The draft Bill of Lading you sent shows the shipping line Hapag-Lloyd gives 21 days free demurrage (which was clearly stated on the draft you yourself sent). So even if the claim by you that the vessel is in Tincan is true, it is after 21days that demurrage will start counting. He is yet to provide the contact of the clearing agent but he wants me to pay 100%, leave my work and go to the port to wait for car to come out. The tracking details he sent shows vessel is not yet at Tincan but he claims otherwise. Amdman, I am willing to pay the balance right now, that is not an issue. However, I need to: 1. Independently confirm that the shipment took place and vessel has arrived. You can get your clearing agent to come here and confirm this or you provide me with a scanned copy of the original bill of lading 2. I won't leave my work to come to the port to pick up a car and I can't & won't pay "20k to 50k" for a distance of less than 15km from the port to my place. I still believe Amdman is legit and these things are just business issues that can be resolved. I won't have brought this here if he has shown some flexibility because I even told him I may have to bring it public and he said I should go ahead. So fellow buyers, please if I am the one that is being unreasonable, kindly let me know. I am not a rigid person. Though I believe it doesn't make sense for one to pay for clearing fees and still have to go to the port to pick up an unregistered car to drive home. Cc: deepwater |
Nice one. Planned for next leave |
twinskenny:Please look through things before you comment. The person you responded to apparently has not fully paid for the item. Do you know the amount he is still owing? He said he doesn't have money in his account. How did he transfer part-payment to Clone initially for the item or is he trying to say he went to US to pay Clone cash? I observed since your small issue with Clone on payment not entering his account on time, you've been somehow antagonistic on this thread. Before now, I am sure the past shipments of Clone that nobody had issues either picking from Iyke or getting him to deliver the items directly. The young man is just trying to be careful right now and you can't blame him. It's fine if you don't want to continue doing biz with Clone, but note that a good number of us will still continue cos he is legit. |
Iyke charges N1,500 (depending on the distance I guess) for delivery and he has delivered to me more than once. Personally, it's better for me that way considering where he said he is coming from. However, due to how things are now, i support him not giving out his address. He probably said he does not have a base so people won't come and start shouting in his house. It won't be cool if due to pressure, he release items to the wrong owner. @ Clone2020, thank God nothing bad happened and that you are safe. Please ensure this is resolved today. Confirm the items available and send the passwords out. Let them contact Iyke after that to arrange how they want their items delivered or picked. |
bong4:Planning. There is something called planning. Reduce the wedding expense by 50% and you will likely have the money you need. (or maybe just to add a little more) |
OkoYibo: ![]() We really need a state of emergency in our education sector |
