elrony: Codedguy1 tell your oga to do something na Guy na Sidon look I dey since. if we get Sanchez will he be expected to track back. Like Pietro said does it make sense coming to united when a team at the verge of winning the league wants him too. Mahrez seems to be a defensive liability which is one of jose's expected quality of a player. As per Moura, I Dont even know what to say about that prospect. But me and jose will soon discuss all this over some nkwobi and palm wine. |

sinizia: It's rule implemented by Pep at Barcelona where he tasked his players "to recover a misplaced pass or lost ball from their opponents under 6 secs". What we saw was a high octane pressing from the entire team once they lost a ball, rushing opponents like a pack of wolves, and inevitably forcing them to kick away the ball (or give away the ball in dangerous positions like Fabregas against Barcelona which Arsenal were punished for) under immense pressure which his players will then collect and recycle, and start dominating you all over again.
If Messi loses the ball, he chases the player with the ball, while Eto, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquet and Co closes down "the free players of the opponents" which the opponent with ball will pass to. He's now forced to kick the ball away or give it to his goalie to kick it away. Once the goalie does that, Pique, Busquet and other defenders win it back fast and continues dominating again. It's why Pep hardly lose possession, it's how he defends, and it's no surprise that City are playing with that same style And you need fit players yo achieve this. Players that are ready to run for 90mins non stop. it helps the defence and will surely win you a lot of games. It is not Mourinho style and that's where the problem is. its either he adopts this style or invents something better as this his present style that I don't even understand again will not make us win the league in the near future. |

dopeJemi: How many midfielders as good and skillful as Pogba and even better keep it simple till the end? I Dont want unnecessary argument but if you yourself list midfielders that are truly as good and skillfully as pogba and even better you would realise that he really needs to do still improve on keeping it simple. The difference is that pogba tries to do too much and loses the ball with even getting a freekick, most other midfielder with his skill set will at least draw a freekick. |

dopeJemi: how has he not kept it simple in this match? someone that has provided the two assists for the goals scored, easily a contender for man of the match, what are you on about Oga as per keeping it simple, Pogba has really improved but there are still some annoying things that he does that would have been easier if he just passes the ball to a colleague that was obviously available instead of trying to do agidi in holding the ball especially in tight corners. he has improved though! |

elampiro: With Lukaku, the intensity might not be the same. It would mean one less player in the quick build up play and ball forward drives. He wouldn't also score any of the goals we scored because of the range and shooting skill needed. And why would the intensity not the same. must he score the type of goals that were scored today? Am only saying with intensity ANYBODY can score the type of goals that were scored today. Martial and Lingard can score what they did today with Lukaku scoring 2 headed goals with INTENSITY in our game. That's all am saying. |

eph12: The team is playing with great spirit and intensity. This is just what we need to see from the team from the kick off whistle. They can do it if the manager beats it into their head. I don't see the call for overhaul as necessary, we just need the intensity and determination to win the first and second balls, then attack without fear. That's all we have been saying ooo. it will erase a lot of what we argue about here about hold up play by Lukaku because with intensity he would be in the box most of the time to do what he is expected to do. The players need to believe that they can take on anyone and work towards it. Mourinho is expected to drill this into them. na wao shey we don score na default defending we done start to dey do. |

sinizia: Now that Jesus is injured, City will be all out to snatch Sanchez. If only Wenger will refuse selling till season ends.
I don't know if KDB's injury is serious, but if he's injured along with that genius called Silva for up to 3 months, City will lose momentum and things can finally balance. I need KDB and Silva out with injury so this City side will lose form. How much momentum can they lose? Assuming those guys are out for that long is the reason why most of us are really upset with the gap city has given us, not to talk about being 3rd now. with the brand of football we play there is no way we can catch this city team unless something changes, the style or how motivated our players are, because I Dont see us winning all our games and city dropping 15points. we still have to contend with shekpites and the chasing pack. |

The way we play is the problem and that's my problem with Jose.
And to think that it would be hard for him to change that style because it has given is success is scary.
The other option is for him to get the players that understand that style and that is on him and the board so that there would be no excuse.
Happy new year to those wey don enter 2018.

SIRcumalot: Oya fine Reestablish.
Why I think Jose dey hot seat na say our board don invest alot of money into this club and it is very cost effective to find a manager that can make a squad that is worth 300 million pounds to work instead of raising more transfer fund. Plus everton no be joke that game be like draw. Person spend 300M for you to buy players and all you are concerned about is winning games with defensive masterclass performances in a brand like united. why him no go dey hot seat even though he just dropped to 3rd yesterday. As per reestablishing anything. I really don't know that's or where to reestablish success this time. |

afrodoc2: But seriously, the board has to go all in with their support for Mourinho in the next 2 transfer windows. No more Darmians, unproven Lindelofs or geriatric Zlatans. We need to buy the best players and at their peaks.
No more pussyfooting, the sledgehammer approach is needed. Ozil, Asensio, Dybala, Griezman, Aubameyang, Goretzka, Sanchez, Isco should all be on the table. We can't have a 3rd manager fail in 4-5 years. I may not know exactly how the negotiations go with boards and their coaches, but if the board gives Jose its full support and players he wants he also has to assure them of some things. except if after they give him everything he wants and then they give him absolute free hand and all they want to hear is that he wins the league, how he does it is his business or some sorta discussion goes around how he achieves it. if we give Jose all those players you listed up there and he still deploys defensive master classes, wetin we go do? My grouse with Jose is his penchant to always want to have game where he won by leading by a goal and then the team putting in a masterclass defensive performance and as fergie has even said it WOULD be hard for this Jose to change his style. what has given him success over the years. But it seems that style s not working with united especially in the league. |

SIRcumalot: we should probably establish the baseline for success this season. by this i mean if we don't make the top four or we don't make a decent run in the UCL (am talking at least the quarter finals) then maybe we should start searching for a new manager. i hope it won't come to this. its more like REESTABLISHING A BASELINE OF SUCCESS this season because I recall that some of us agreed here that Jose has no excuse not winning the league this season. That was because we felt he had enough to win it, but Jose himself has used his own hand and defensive masterclass performances to Bleep things up by respecting not only top 6 sides but also midtable teams. Every team that see United in front of them feel they can get something out of the game, at least they have that belief, but am sure with city, they Dont feel that way. Let's take nothing from city, they have been exceptional but we on our part have been generally very irritating and poor even though we had some good wins where some of us still pointed out that we ain't doing well but were happy we got the 3points. |
