The other day company had a problem and pep brought in Gabriel, an attacker for a defender because he needed a goal.

Now I dey see Herrera warming up. it will not increase our attack or help our defence regardless of who is substituted.

e don time wey we go just dey pray make we score by any means possible. anyhow make ball just enter there net.

That's the strategy. HOPE!

Do we really want to win this game?

if we manage score now we will go to default defending, if they score we will increase the attacking intensity.

we don t play like we need to kill these guys with our play.

we have enough quality in that team to compete for the title this season, maybe we would still be behind city because their form has been exceptional but we have been playing some very bad football. I hold both players and coach but Mourinho is responsible 80% for our performance. To think that we are still 2nd is what actually amazes me, and that is seriously under threat.

The brand we play is annoying and Mourinho is the cause simple.

we are not saying Mourinho must win every season as a man u coach, even Fergie didn't do that but if the brand we play is not changed to one that emphasises on attack even if there is a defensive masterclass to it we would not win the league in nearest future.

And again no matter how improved we get if another team is better, any team for that matter, then we will always play 2nd fiddle.

A team of super stars and average players playing together as a unit in attack and defense (Man City) is better than a collection of super stars and some average players playing disjointed football relying more on individual brilliance (Man Utd)...
The movement of our players is poor, you don't see our full backs overlapping to draw defenders away from the wingers. Most times, Young passes the ball to Martial and stops like a spectator to watch how Martial will go past 2-3 defenders and when he can't, he passes back to Young and back the ball goes to Matic, back to Jones and we repeat the sequence again...
Mou needs to work on our passing and movement and our forward play in general...We defend too deep thus whenever we recover possession, it we can't hurt the opposition immediately compared to City who press high up the pitch where they can hurt you if the chance presents itself...
Sometimes I wonder why we can't press high up the pitch like Spurs/City/Pool or Chelsea who are improving in this aspect, our players are way too comfortable retreating back and Mou has to take responsibility to be honest.

By the time Mourinho exhibits this type of strategy again next season, then we go come know say na area one chance we don enter.
How Mourinho will change to an attacking strategy is what I would like to see.

Fans should blame the manager accordingly, like the game versus city we lost due the managers naivety, and some other examples ofcourse where the manager failed, but most of the players need an iron hand to sit up, Luke Shaw for example is a huge talent, but even LVG complained of him not showing enough bottle. Jose has exiled him for some time now and rightly berated him, he is back with the right attitude and grit. Martial was was dross last season, after the same treatment he is currently our best forward. People were berating the manager for only trying to toughen Shaw and Martial, now the result is showing, Rashford needs the same. Some players don't need such motivations They are always charged up, like Valencia and Lingard they may lack quality but not motivation and grit.

IMO, The match yesterday was not exactly defensive on our part, it was actually an open game and we created better chances to have killed the game off.

For the chasing pack, that 2nd position is what they are probably aiming for now since it looks like city is gone. yes, there is still a mathematical chance of winning the league but according to capitalcee "must we win the league this season"

I saw the game today and the decisions and misses were annoying, from lingard to martial and rashford

I think Mourinho has caused a lot of problems with his negative style of play and I won't spare him. The buck stops on his desk whether he likes it or not.

But for this particular game the players need to to be flogged 12strokes simultaneously especially rashford and lingard so that they can cry in unison.

The players should be held responsible for the dropped points.

I'm not disputing ur point in fact not only KDB, do u know Sterling, Sane, Silva & Aguero/Jesus, etc they all track back to help the defense everytime so I don't dispute ur point but the diff between Mou's tracking back & Peps' is obvious to the blind.
Pep's boys track back to help the defense but from that defense they are already initiating attack (pass pass) to the opponent's box but what Mou's guys do is "hoof" the ball for the striker (our goal against Tottheham doesn't work all the time) to start chasing like Drogba did (even JT made mention of it @ mnf) & doing such always end up inviting pressure back to our defense.

PEPs team actually starts defending from the front unlike Mourinho's team that actually only think we have to defend from the back which means to defend means running back to defend. so when they eventually get the ball they then hoof it forward bto nobody in particular or to Lukaku who can't hold the ball.
