lagerwhenindoubt: Where is TB Joshua and Daddy GO when you need them to showcase the vaunted powers of God angry
Watch it! Don't bring in Men of God into this matter, Do u expect them to know OJB or have they gone to the church to solicit for money nii or what is this one saying? Having a doctor to be able to treat OJB is enough help from God, We humans should learn to think before we utter words..and learn to be responsible, as regards our choice and actions, with that being said, I guess it is about time you go to bed
Music/RadioRe: Kelly Hansome – Save OJB by CodeHouse: 7:54pm On Jun 25, 2013
Question 1: Are we buying the machine to be ours here in Nigeria, so that we would not only be saving OJB but others who are going through same medical conditions?

Question 2: Why can't we have this done in Nigeria, because OJB is not the first celebrity to require the help of the people?

Question 3: How much could the whole machine or whatever possibly cost and this country do not Have it?

Question 4: 100,000 Dollars! Come on, Are we buying all kidney related issues off medical history?

Christianity EtcRe: What Does The Bible Say About Make-up? by CodeHouse:
SpicyMimi: I know too much of anything is bad, and ve also accepted that wearing of Trousers is an abomination to God.
But i really need the pastors in the house to address this issue concerning Make-ups! All i want here is the truth about it, i dont care how bitter it might sound to me...am ready to accept the truth.
Is the Bible against too much of wearing of Make-ups?
What about when the Make-up is just little and mild? Is it still a sin?
Or is it better not to wear one at all?
And 2ndly, do u think fixing of attachements is a sin too? Cause honestly i have a scanty long hair, and it usually looks unkempt when am without weavon or attachements.

Please i need answers.
Having such a thought is an indication that your inner spirit does not concur with it...Just yesterday, my girl friend decided to do away with make up, trousers, attachments and the likes and honestly I am cool with it. When you add an attachment to your hair, you explicitly tell God (ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN VOICE) that he didn't create you completely, that he made a mistake or so stupid not to have given you that long hair that you so cherish so much when you see others, especially "The Whites"...Ladies just have to be very careful, do not allow things as little as make-up take you to hell..Looking good should be done with moderation in mind, We hear stories of those who through the spirit of God, were taken to HELL and they say so much about how fashion is misleading people...Why Would you want to add hair to your head, or have a tatoo, or do things that are not in line with God's words?

Just live normal and make heaven, the Bible warns abot the accuser of the bretheren, (THE DEVIL), who continually looks for whom to devour...MY SINCERE ADVICE: DO AWAY WITH ALL OF THAT AND ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO HELP YOU, THE BOOK OF JAMES SAYS: "God is willing to give wisdom to anyone who desires and asks for it" and Be Warned: For there are ways that seemeth right unto a man but the end thereof is destruction - The Bible

pretty_boi: Bitter Nigerians have once again hi-jacked this thread with comments of hatred & bitterness. You guys don't ever treat yourselves to some good time? Why always hating other people? Everyone deserves a treat & a good luxurious life from time to time even If you're extremely poor. Luxury starts from the mind,so you all should stop hating people every single time & also enjoy your lives cos everyone desecration that.
Can you buy a bottle of wine as costly as that, assuming you are as rich as Dangote? Bill Gate, the richest man yet again CANNOT, Warren B CANNOT, Carlo Slim CANNOT...boi it is lack of wisdom that is on display here

Well what can I say...? I was expecting a picture of a wine bottle towering like a mast, only to see a regular man on his bed just like anybody with a mug courtesy loyal milk and a bottle not different from the regular eve wine..some wines are costly, I know but thishuh?

nke001: congratulations on your initial success! U can get "text to speech software" and see how they work. get these appz using google searc.
Thanks but I am way passed such programs now, I can prog a text to speech app with ease, still workin on speech to text, of course we have it pre installed on windows but it is worth tryin to dev sometin custom n better
Science/TechnologyRe: Surf The Internet On Your Device Using Light Emitting Diode. by CodeHouse: 8:10pm On Jun 03, 2013
nke001: yea , but the problem with such softwares is that, the voice source must be crystal clear and 2ndly, the speaker ( voice source ) must be good in pronounciation of english word.
Yup, I developed a demo, it recorded sound from the sound card directly so as to eliminate noise, but the whole idea was to program a text to speech app not speech to text

Creatrixity: The annoying thing is that with all the proGRAMMERS(not programmers) what was the last library you developed or helped developed?
Are you recognised in the open source community?.
An average American sits at home and the government will feed them, it is not thesame here in Nigeria. Everyone is trying to make a living..those who contribute to sourceforge are not Nigerians, I am yet too see one..Intellectual laws don't have grounds here and that's why you can go to computer Village to get softwares worth N10K for N120 naira..can you imagine? Well if you care to know I have more than 100 apps including a VIRUS made by me with MY Compiler( I call GINA not yet patented)..With GINA you can
do a lot and I am training some groups how to use it..I made my first operating system in a diskette years probably at your age, It was totally DOS like..I am still not calling myself a pro for there is a program I am yet to write, my point: Nigerians (some) are not sleeping.

...those who call me outside the forum for some advice or help, knows how freely I share information and love to help..Infact you guys are the pros with all your listings of programing languages..I can't even boast of so many dialect as some of you (especially when you start thinking of a Compiler made by Nigerians)..so don't get it all wrong..ok @code-eater I didn't explicitly say you are not a programmer, in short, the first guy who commented on your post did..@Judinho don't call people "dude" especially when you don't know anything about them and "lame post" really?..so you guys should remain committed, we need you guys to make Nigeria a better place..so in a way I am Apologizing if in a way you feel offended...AND WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING SLEEPING...START CODING!
ProgrammingRe: A True Story And An Advice To All Programmers(expecially Newbies) by CodeHouse: 11:42pm On May 15, 2013
@All of you who posted..what can I say? (1. If you actually read in one of my post above, you'll find where I pointed out that "We too were once learners or newbie but the fact that
some of you guys use insultive terms in your post is actually the problem"..and that might result in "us" considering who to help on the forum, "If we are in the position to do so"..Don't you guys get it? Nobody is proving to be the "pro" at some point we all are learners and no one has all the knowledge there is. (2. For me I take my time to observe and learn from others, rather than listing all the languages and assigning them to yourself, just be a programmer, it is not the languages that makes you a programmer but how well you use them to solve a problem..but when you start up with I can write php, css, html, pe, python, c#,c++, etc Personally I in turn expect a lot from you.."To whom much is given, much is expected" It is a rule of life. You didn't hear of Mark until facebook became a hit..right?

Ajibel: I'm seeing the traces of uncool attitudes of some so called adult pros here. Yea, am a teenager but i'm kinda an amateur and the reason (i believe) why many here dont know there are so many teen "newbie/amateur" programmers here is 'cuz they'd be looked down upon/neglected. Our opinions wouldnt be considered and the pros wouldnt like to reply on threads created by newbies 'cuz they(pros) are trying to maintain 'levels'. I know of a programmer here(name witheld) who most of you know but he claims to be an adult while he's just my age mate.
...and no one (newbie/amateur) is ready to show off his/her works or projects just to prove a point he's a pro and not a "script-writer"
angry angry angry
Well said but did you just dabble here or you actually read the thread from the top before commenting?

Hi all..I am not really into website things..but what can you do without a browser these days huh..so I am bored and currently working on a plug that will allow you to add custom icons with actions on users browser, Have you noticed you downloaded a small app online and it adds an icon on your browser just like babylon translator does, from which by a click, users can go to your site without typing your web address, play media players, go to a link maybe a special page on your site for premium users, get feeds, get offline tutorials, internet radio, and do lots of other stuffs..If interested, do send me your mail address with the actions you intend to initiate for test purpose only. I need feedbacks just to make it better. Thanks

Javanian: So are you saying because they claim to be teenagers they are 'newbies' that write 'small, slow and messy' programms?
I totally agree with @kennyinusa, a newbie or wanna be programmer will always write, slow, messy programs and "we" all were once like that..but I never disrespect those I know were better(note: not on nairaland forum anyway). Age is not a yardstick to determine how good one is but still not a good reason to insult people..I am NOT a green programmer and would say people should be careful how they respond to post, if not "we" would start considering those to assist with codes or programs ( If we are in the position to do so ). Some of us don't just write codes nor do we work with programs from sourceforge, We write COMPILERS!

Yea thanks..it is not a big problem starting such in your school.( 1. Categorize the entry, e.g Master, Intermediate and Beginners (2. Let it cover different aspect, such as Typing, Flowchart ,Algorithm, Utility, Database, Media, Graphics, etc so as to carry everyone along. (3. Dont think of awarding prizes, the fun of being the best in any category entered for is enough as a prize for any individual but if they want awards, then they should pay for forms.

Some of you guys saw the movie social network and start thinking radically (forgetting that our economy don't give room for that )...well it takes more than that, with programming comes maturity, because you can write some lines of codes that will pop up a dialogue box, some even copy codes, especially html, css, php off someone elses site with Ctrl+U and use it for your clients and you call yourselves programmers..well I am not saying you don't get to learn from others but I observe that most people are quick to say I am a programmer with html, php, sql, js, c#, perl, etc experience, makes me laugh..when you so much depend on Template monster..@CODE-EATER I am not sure it was programming that made you lose your gf, what is life without balance? Like you said, give time for other things..and strike the balance between passion and joy.

ProgrammingRe: Please Anyone That Has As Idea On Expert Systems by CodeHouse: 12:58pm On May 14, 2013
Hi mate...that's a good topic you have there..What you intend to do is a form of Artificial Intelligence, whereby a computer mimics human knowledge to solve specific task which solely depends on two major structures: Inference engine(based on probabilistic logic) and knowledge base(based on conditions)..What is it you need on this, a written project or the program? For the program, I can work on it for ya, given the required clinical information and time. For the written project, no can't do.

ProgrammingRe: Programming Competition In Nigeria by CodeHouse: 12:34pm On May 14, 2013
Hi mate..if there is any such competition in Nigeria, trust me, you'd have heard of it. Here in Nigeria we spend Millions on entertainment, music and comedy, rather than working seriously on science and technology! Yes a little relaxation is needed at times as humans but "Nigerians" are totally carried away. Entertainment industry is gaining stronger ground and IT companies like glo,mtn and the likes prefer to give millions out to artiste...uffff! Well that's because they are getting returns from it anyway. Talking about which language to major in? Please any language that is relevant, in as much as it can solve today's problem. If I require BASIC to solve a problem, why use C#? Let the competition begin here..I will talk to the moderator to see how we can start one here..I actually thought of having a yearly programming competition here but I guess it all depends on moderators.

hahaha..ok I rest my case about d women issue..but if the school were to control the camera, how then would parents get to see their own kid and besides the camera isn't going to be automated, it has to be controlled by a click or gear(someone has to be there)..with what you just said, parents could just login online and watch any available streams being viewed at that moment.."That's all"..About which platform it will run? It will run on all platform since it is going to be a browser and what language to learn? Please learn any web things..html,css,php,javascript...I have developed a desktop based of your idea some years back, the only disadvantage is that executables don't run on servers(they actually do but..technical details involve)

rahman24: Is there a device for converting current voice to text? which enable hearing loss to understand what speaker is saying at lecture or anywhere. i need it because i m hard of hearing if anyone knows pls tell me.
No such device would do that except it is wired to a computer..you cant possibly put just one device around your wrist or as a hearing aid to change spoken words to text without a pc, where would the text display on? My point is that you could use a software, such that your computer records the voice and a software would then convert it to text for ya..IBM developed one some years back, also Dragon, yea use Dragon.
