It is very easy, firstly you can take off the condition where I compared the user variable to the value variable, usually when I create social forums, during registration, users are also placed in the friend list for a special reason, all depends on the coder and the aim and that is the reason I searched in the value variable to make sure the post of the logged in user does not appear twice cos I already assumed the user already posted and his or her post has been fetched and displayed?

The code i sent to you is to fetch all the posts made by a user and displayed to all followers or those in the friend list whenever they are logged in.

The user variable is the session variable for logged in user, so the second mysql code is supposed to fetch each posts of those in my friend list via the value variable as they are fetched.

Note the second mysql query should be SELECT * users post table not the users table as indicated in the first mysql query. The reason for this method is that it helps you manipulate database record in relation to users and those in their friend list, with the above, you can fetch Likes, Shares, Comments, Views, etc

It is nice but your previous posts and the way you mark red other people's project, I thought I was going to be totally blown but naa.. My observations:

1. Nairaland has this simplicity that I couldn't find in yours but im sure with time, one would get used to navigating the site.

2. Im sure you had it in mind to sweep everyone off with the "Read" feature but I personally dont think it is necessary, I read the posts faster than text to speech bot. When I saw the feature I was expecting another button for speech input.

3. I don't know yet but I hope your post fields would accept tags?

4. It loads slower than expected

5. I like the name, go develop it, Gdevit, nice

6. Permit me to run a security test to check if I can call your database and manipulate

7. Try to explode the viewers so that we can see who viewed or liked a particular post

I hope it uses Ip to detect if someone wants to register more than once with the same device, I personally don't like forums where people have more than one account, I find it difficult to trust people there and also I personally would not advertise on such forum, it is misleading, like nairaland

Note that your second query will be the post table not the user table, I assume that you have a table where all your post are submitted, then if I have 50 friends in my array, then $value will fetch each names and then the resulting names will be used to query the post table and then ORDER by post id in Descending order

All you need to do is to explode the array, assuming your friends are stored in the table with a comma, exploding the array would generate a unique key starting from zero to the amount of friends in the table and also generate a value along side the unique key, the value is what you need, it contains the individual friends without a comma.. and that is what you need to run the other query... Note that youhave to sanitize, to avoid injection, what you have below should solve your problem...To get the post according to how they are posted, you can simply ORDER by post id

Op, how long do you intend to get the engine functional, I still could not make anything off it, take dhtml criticism has a motivator, you have created up to 3 threads on this search engine and one of it is misleading as you gave us the impression that it is now done with, yet nothing to hold on to.

Kindly focus on the project's functionality starting with the backend algo, I see you looking at the area of advertisement and how you will make money from it rather than getting started on the real task at hand.

Your project is doable, keep at it even though I agree with dhtml, as it would take you time personally and it is funny how if google does not index your site, it might never show up anywhere, that is the real power my friend.

One time I asked a question most people might think it's ridiculous, but considering the circumstances, it wasn't. The question I asked was "How to fix a div to the bottom of the screen on mobile.

Normally this is simple but in my case, the stupid library I was using was the cause.... I found that out later after a full day of debugging.

There was nothing to complete in my own case. I never asked for beautiful ui and never forced anyone to do my task for me. I did it myself with the aid of ms-dos command in less than 6 days (my first encounter with ms-dos batch scripting) but wanted the whole thing i was promised to metamorph into something bigger and far more inspiring. I remember coming back to the thread to do multiple mentions. In the end, I am a better programmer without getting the expo . . .

@OP NL and SO cannot be compared.. First off, those who ask questions on SO, have tried googling and the ones in NL don't make effort.. go look at the topics in NL programming section you will understand what I mean...

Many forming in here. I was once promised a code to help accomplish a task. Turns out the guy was playing Gui/Graphics tricks, just arranging buttons and Gui components to look like a working program. The task then was to join pairs of jpeg files (signature and passport) into a single jpeg file carrying both pic content side by side. The guy is prominent here. Always parading about deep computer science terms

It seemed I once promised such but didnt have the time to complete it as planned at that period cos most times personal and contracted projects always have a way to cos distractions but if you were actually reffering to me then I would say I am glad I spent my time doing something else instead of programming for you.

Some of us have slight health issues that you dont even care about, what is wrong in sending a mail, some of us have our phone numbers written in our NL signature, just a minute call or text message would do to say: ."Guy hello how are you today, hope you didnt forget to help me with that task.. "

We never even spoke before and you just expect an anonymous person to do your task for you, just like that without even showing cares..

I have a very good friend in here, he calls, sends mail, text for one assistance or the other and most times I am always in the middle of one project or the other and over time he got to understand me and cares for what I do and my time, now he asks questions and I reply to him on whatsaap and I sent written codes to him once on whatsapp..

Infact the first time I got a programming job from a company out of Nigeria, I called him to know, he knew when I was even on my way to the embassy and all of that.. this is a friend from NL I never saw.

When I arrived at the said country, I got a refferal to do another job while I was in the middle of one, he was the person I called back in Nigeria to know if he could do the task..

If you want a challenge between you and I in order to prove to you that I dont just design, that I also code verrrrrrrry well, kindly mention me.

It is on the same programming section, I developed a full Android App and to another person a full bureau de change software and till now I got no kobo after deployment, not even one naira and I used all my resources and time for those projects, hoping they would fulfill their end of the deal..
