Omo I've never been that shocked by a press conference in my life 😂
It took me long to put 2 and 2 together but It made me understand why all levels of both the men and women team don't know how to string passes and execute attacks.

Like why must you take an extra touch for every action?
Why is there zero communication to the point that three people will often go for one ball or be beaten by a simple 1-2?

What is all this rubbish we're seeing?
😂😂
Finidi George said there's no need for formation..

So both the SE and SF don't train with a formation..

What has she done at Club level to deserving a spot in the National team right now??
If that's the case then what's the point of hiring fresh graduates huh

what has a fresh graduate done to deserve a job in any company huh

Can you name them please 🙏??
ihezuo, Ajibade, Tony Payne, Nicole Payne, Alozie, Oshoala, Okoronkwo, Echegini, Alani..

others are Sebastine, Monday, Babajide, Ajakaye.

The biggest thing we need for the team right now is fast and athletic forwards/Wingers so that when they gets the ball they can opens up the offense for their teammates, run at Defenders and get them confused..

An unselfish one though that will put the team first not individual accolades.
The fast and athletic wingers are already there..

What's needed is finishing.. so they need to work on their finishing training as a team.

And to finish the team needs more players running forward to support the player that is through on goal..

I swear, Randy Waldrum still has some work to do on those players, he's good, they're good, they just need a little out of the box thinking AND a good striker still to finish building a world beater!

Ihezuo ✅ 🆚 Brazil
Oshoala ✅ 🆚 Spain (had a good game tho)
Time for Macleans to come on 🆚 Japan with Oshoala too, on the wings, maybe something good can happen at the front.
I expected Macleans to come on instead of ihezuo.. when ihezuo missed that chance against Brazil I told myself if I was the coach that will be her last match as CF at least and I would bench her for this game against Spain...

Now she has also missed against Spain that means for me that's her last match for the SF...

her shots are too tame and she acts timid in front goal... how she became a striker is what I don't understand..

even Ajibade that should have shot the ball was doing finesse shot.. instead of shooting with her big toe and front of her boots....

The criticisms dey painful abeg, these girls have played number 8 and number 1 in the world and still have number 7 to play and some f00000ls sitting in their houses and checking Flashscore have the guts to insult and call them names. Thunder fire them again!

If we had good strikers we will be on top of the group with 6 points now. If it was now we had prime Oshoala, we would be top 20 in the world because I don't see that team in the world that can beat us ruthlessly again.

Put Banda in this team now and we'll be unstoppable! One werey go wan come insult the girls.
not just good strikers but intelligent players and coaches...

When Ajibade was 1 on 1 from the right there was no SF player on the other wing attempting a run to create the option for Ajibade to pass..

same thing when ihezuo was 1 on 1 there was no player making a run forward on the wing to create the option for ihezuo to pass...

SF players just stood hoping Ajibade or ihezuo will score...

Anytime Spain was running forward or through with the ball there were always 2 Spanish players on the other wings creating options to pass...

it is painful because when you see the chances they missed it will occur to you that Super Falcons should be topping this group easily and already through to the QF..

that one no be 1 on 1 oo infact the best striker in the world can miss that, na tight angle
That wasn't a tight angle..

A right footed striker or double footed will easily score that chance

All she had to do was move the ball to the right or move the ball to her right leg but she's too left footed..

That's what caused her to miss against Brazil... she played the ball with her left foot back towards the GK instead of away...

if she was more skillful with her left foot she could have done a trivela round the keeper.

I won't be engaging anyone making illogical points. We had the best chances all game.

Read that again, we have better chances than Spain did. We were just unlucky and didn't score.

In qualification, funny thing is we can still qualify. If we score 2 goals against Japan we can finish second or third in the group.
this is the problem of Nigeria, for Nigeria, with Nigeria and by Nigeria...

there's nothing like been unlucky.. Humans are meant to create their own luck and take their chances and Super Falcons did not take their chances.. and if SF had taken their chances you won't be doing maths to see if SF can qualify...

go and listen to Eminem's songs like Lose Yourself and Not Afraid..

you have to Lose Yourself and make most of the opportunities that come your way and Not Afraid of overcoming your drawbacks..

If you would resort to strawman like this don't quote me abeg. Your comment is borderline illogical. I don't even Ihezuo's biggest fan and really do not fancy her as a player but she is miles ahead of the girls you keep bringing up. Ajibade also missed a chance, by your logic Ajakaye should take her place abi. Let them even get 10 minutes of gametime first in their clubs before you start advocating for them.

Is it the same Ajakaye that couldn't score goals at the u17 world cup amongst her peer?
I will quote you..

Ajakaye, Sebastine, Gift Monday, Rinsola would have done a better job than Ihezuo and Onumonu..

Going forward, Onumonu has no business being on this team. She can’t seem to get anybody right. She’s a paper weight, she’s easily disposed off the ball. She can’t even stand her ground.

As long as Randy is the coach Onumonu will always make the team..

they should not lose concentration and discipline once the 2nd half starts because Spain will want to score immediately.

west Africa likely
And if it's west Africa then it's likely Nigeria unless Nigeria is wise enough to stay out of it..

If I was Ti:nubu I would have approved N200k as federal minimum wage and then N100k as state minimum wage..

Because when PDP was in power minimum wage was worth $120..

now minimum wage is $18 ( N30k ) or $43 ( N70k )..

If you substract $120 from $18 you get $102..

If the FG has 1 million employees and paying them $120 during PDP and the same FG under APC paying them $18 in 2024 that is a difference $102 million monthly and over $1 billion yearly is stolen from the employees..

Don't forget the FG earns in dollars so it doesn't affect them.. so they could have kept the minimum wage at $120 while deceiving the employees that they were increasing the salary by increasing the Naira equivalent..

You mean players who can't compete at their own clubs should be brought to the Super Falcons as competition for more established players? Think about it by guy.
their clubs are their place of employment.. you can be employed and not giving an opportunity...

they should be brought to Super Falcons to learn from the established players as successors and to play in international competition and because SF can give them opportunity their club won't give them....

In the Super Falcons, they are not in competition with the established players, they are in succession...

Spain has Pedro, Vazquez, Soler, Ferran Torres, Sarabia, Suso e.t.c but picked Lamine Yamal for the RW position and it paid off...

if you were in the Spanish FA you would have rejected the list the coach submitted because more "ESTHER-BLEACH" players than Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal.

Notice I mentioned she wasn't even among the best while she was playing in Nigeria. I intentionally did that to counter in advance the excuse she you just gave. Also her age isn't the reason why she isn't getting an opportunity. Even biased coaches recognise talents when they see one and won't discriminate. Caicedo isn't Spanish yet she is the first name on the list for Madrid. Demehin and Imuran play regularly in France and her not being discriminated against, yet in the same team Flourish Sebastian can't get playing time. You see how that excuse doesn't fly?

What, my hope is she works on herself and fight for a place next season or move to a team that will give her a fighting chance.

BTW, Maduka Okoye was playing before he got called to the Super Eagles. What the super eagles did was help position him for a better club not get him playing time.

She has an opportunity to develop at her current club in order that she be deemed good enough to play for the SF. Right now, she is not there. Let her develop without the added pressure of playing at the SF level.

Not true.
Maduka did not need to SE to make his move to Holland, where, through hard work, he excelled.
His stint with SE played little or no factor in his move from Watford to Udinese (where he was a bench warmer), until through his hard work and perseverance, he became the Udine #1 and became one of the better keepers in Serie A.

At the expense of who? Much better players?
That is a recipe for disaster. That is NOT how you build solid national teams.
It is called succession plan..

the successors should have a feel of competition at the highest level while playing and training with the people they will eventually replace..

You know any time you mention Ajakaye, you are begging not to be taken seriously.

I sincerely do not get the over fixation with a player who is yet to make any mark in her professional career. She played in the Nigerian league and wasn't even one of the best players in the League. She got a move to Spain and wasn't considered good enough to play even one game. Yet her name gets constantly mentioned like she's the best thing since sliced bread.

I really do hope that she turns it around and I'll be one of her biggest cheer leaders when she does, but right now please free the girl.
Ajakaye is young...

so for her to make her mark in her professional career she needs to play for the Super Falcons...

Maduka Okoye would have never made a mark in his career if he wasn't called up to the Super Eagles... and this is female football most countries around the world reserve their Female sports and leagues to their own citizens and to create jobs for their own women...

Ajakaye, Sebastine, Gift Monday and Rinsola Babajide are players that should always be in the Super Falcons..

However if they do something close to this with compactness, discipline and clinical-ity (lol), then we're good to go! 🇳🇬
exactly..

stay like that and pass the ball from the Left wing to the right wing... which is how Echegini got her opportunity..

She was played on the wings instead of as an SS or AM(i.e behind the main Striker) which is her preferred role thereby affecting her efficiency.

Okeke played the LB role like a CB as she did not overlap neither did she join the attack. She forced Onyinye to drop deep , making things difficult for her.
Okeke played against world renowned Marta and another striker that knows how to shoot the ball so Okeke knew she had to adapt and also play as a CB.

while Echegini was playing as a CF in the Left Wing and staying in the left wing as if they glued her to the Left wing..

Echegini did not consider the caliber of player Marta was and did not help Okeke and Echegini did not also adapt to playing as SS or CAM or CM to help the team...

against Marta and the other striker it will be foolishness for Okeke to overlap..

Echegini should have adapted and turned to a LWB same way Ajibade turned to a RWB and was carrying the ball forward..

Echegini should have turned to a LWB and win tackles from Marta then run with the ball forward...

Our midfielders in that game don't have long range passing in their skill set. They find it difficult evading a press in midfield because they are not press resistant and end up giving away possession. They can only break play and give short tidy passes. An Ajibade infront of them will do that.
our midfielders have long range passing but the Brazilians were intercepting their long range passes so they should stick to making short range passes...

the opposition players are not going to stand and watch you make long range passes past them..

they give away possession because the opposition players are not there to clap for them...

Stamina and pace doesn't translate to efficiency.
