class0247: All Obas of Lagos trace their lineage to Ashipa, a war captain of the Oba of Benin. Ashipa was rewarded with the title of the Oloriogun (or War leader) and received the Oba of Benin's sanction to govern Lagos on his behalf. The slaves that returned to Lagos to join the Binis and the Awori are not all even Yoruba, they are tribes across Nigeria
Three groups made up Lagos: 1 The Binis, who established the traditional Government in Lagos still currently practice. The OBAship
2) The Aworis, who were fishermen and they were under the rule of the Obas(Binis)
3) The returned slaves, where not just only Yoruba but from other tribes across Nigeria These are the reason why Lagos is been termed as no man land. Do your research or ask your elders Stop saying rubbish and rewriting history with false and nonsense info. The Oba of Benin had an intermediary in Lagos who used to communicate with the Yorubas ( who was later called the Oba of a particular section of Lagos). he was a person who traded with the indigenous Yoruba and more of an intermediary or secretary or diplomat of the Oba of benin and if the Yorubas wanted to do business with the Oba of benin he was the intermediary they will use... Lagos was called a farm ( Oko ) and also part of Ogun then the Portuguese came and called the part of Ogun they traded with Lagos.. and it was governed by warring Yoruba tribes that's why the Oba of Benin intermediary called it war camp ( eko ).. over time the intermediary stopped been a Bini indigene and Yorubas took over the post and changed it to Oba of Lagos.. |

The 29dolls yearly fee is even for those accounts with cards.
If you don’t activate pa;yoneer cards, you won’t pay any fee expect the normal withdrawals/transactions fees.
If you’re paying the 3dolls monthly, it might probably not a Nigeria Pa:yoneer account. Its a Nigerian Pay:oneer account.. the images below are proof..

You can actually use payoneer virtual card to move your fund out from payoneer. You can use the card on almost all the exchanges or other platforms like wise, payday etc…
But note there is a yearly payment of 29$ for maintenance fees on the card. They usually deduct the fee at the end of the year. musicwriter: Ok. Thanks very much for the info. Every part of this country needs the others to succeed. The igbos that you are against have majorly developed several parts of Lagos and even increased it's GDP and IGR. So whoever you are I employ you to see the bigger picture and stop being myopic in your world view. Abi if God opens the way for you to go to America today won't you like to own properties there? Igbos didn't develop any part of Lagos.. Lagos has a development and infrastructure masterplan it follows created by Yoruba leaders who use the revenue Lagos earns to build it's infrastructure.. There are oil producing states in Nigeria who don't spend the revenue they earn on infrastructure and are less developed than Lagos.. will you blame the Yorubas for the under-development and bad infrastructure of oil producing states and other states in Nigeria Lagos can make so much money and still have bad infrastructure if the Yoruba leaders in Lagos steal Lagos blindly.. Is it Igbos that are signing road construction contracts in Lagos? Is it Igbos that are signing rail construction contracts in Lagos? Is it Igbos that are drafting the development plan of LGAs in Lagos? Is it Igbos that foreign investors will set up meetings with in Lagos? Stop saying nonsense.. |

Trying to victimize or treat non-yorubas in Lagos unjustly because of Tinubu's experience in this election will only backfire seriously.

DOM7: Tribal bigot! Is Tinubu from Lagos? If not for outsider in multi billion businesses will Lagos be what it is today? With the lazy Yoruba people. Gilgil: You are getting it wrong like most people in Lagos are.
Lagos is a Yoruba state based on historical culture, however, it is a former Federal capital and is therefore a cosmopolis.
Now, the impact of the cosmopolitan nature of Lagos on its economy far outweighs its cultural impact. Being Federal Capital made Lagos to benefit massively from huge infrastructural developments and massive investments.
Lagos is what it is today, by virtue of its position as former Federal Capital and its coastal nature together, that has brought in people from different walks of life.
These people, have brought in their wealth, networks and experience, and together with the few locals built it up, making it the economic capital of West Africa.
No one is denying its Yoruba roots at all, that would be ridiculous, but based on economy, while the culture is respected, the multiple peoples and cultures make increasing impacts year in year out. Bear in mind that most of the Yorubas in power in Lagos today and not originally from there, and so though Yoruba, they are also a sub-set of the non-indigenes.
It is hypocrisy to say Igbos and other cultures should be discriminated against in Lagos while hoping to make Lagos a Cosmopolitan city like London. It is the taxes and investments of foreigners that is driving the IGR of the city.
Many people arguing against other cultures in Lagos want Lagos to be like London whose mayor is not originally English but are screaming for other people taking positions in Lagos. You can't eat your cake and have it. Remove or restrict the other cultures and watch the city go down. It's as simple as that.
For those arguing that the southeast is not accepting of other cultures, ask yourselves how many other cultures live there? This is because of 2 things; low federal investment in the SE and fewer people coming there as a result plus their inability to compete there.
So let's understand why election results can vary in Lagos but not in Ekiti. Let's not pretend to not know these. seunaj: Olórîburúkú ni e Do you think that lagos will become what it is today if it was not opened up for outsiders to come and develop it?
