So where does Onumonu and Oparanozie play??
Bench and can come on as subs.

Ajibade will likely miss two matches so Kanu will start in her position

Hmm Nawa…. So where does the likes of Kanu and co comes in??
I've forgotten about Kanu.

I think Kanu should play CF and back up to Oshoala in case she gets injured. Let Monday, Ajibade, Ajakaye be the wingers.
SportsRe: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by codemaniacs: 7:50pm On Apr 11, 2023
The team needs -

Esther Onyenezide
Alani as a sub for right back in case of tiredness or injury.
Ajakaye
Sabastine

Ajakaye should be tested in the current role Ajibade is playing..

Sabastine plays similar to Ajibade as they both like to hold on to the ball and dribble.

Play Gift Monday on the left wing and Ajakaye on the right wing. They both like to press and have pace to outrun defenders..

Oshoala is too injury prone for the S.F to be depending on her for goals, we struggled to win matches when she was absent and now she's injured again on S.F duty which is terrible.

Osimhen won't be playing in tomorrow's game.😣😣😣
See what playing full 90mins for the S.E has caused when Victor Boniface, Gift Orban, Onuachu, Peter Olayinka, Yira Sor, Dessers, David Okereke e.t.c could have replaced him at 60 - 70 mins...

This could have also been staged by the person or people behind the camera recording them.. It could be a format to get money from gullible people.

Dropping deep doesn't mean a player won't be offside. Offside is all about timing and quick release of the ball. How many chances did we created during that GNB double header?
National team is not an auto factory where you test run machines so your proposition about dropping Osimehn to know the number of offsides will not work.
Creating chances and not scoring them is bad for the team.

Dropping Osimhen to know if the chances created will be scored is what I mean, do I have to be specific to you?
The less offsides a team get from it's strikers the more chances will be created.

Watch the video below and tell me the S.E can not play that way? will Osimhen be offside if we play like that?

GNB is now a strong national team right?
Besides how can you say we don't have goal scorers. How sure are you orban would have been different.
The ejuke you mentioned when last did you hear about him
S.E does not have players that score consistently for the national team..

GNB are a good team.. S.E can not know if Orban would have been different because Orban hasn't been given the chance to represent them.. Ejuke has knee injury, Ejuke knows how to cross the ball which is something S.E current wingers like Moses Simon and Chukwueze fail to do...

So do you still think Gift will give you the performance you demanded even with all these problems?
Unlike Osimhen, Gift Orban drops deeper than defenders or starts his runs from deep so he won't be offside too much like Osimhen who's offside positioning kills the S.E attacks before they even start...

it's not only about Gift or any player giving the performance demanded, its about not killing the attacks before they start due to offside and scoring the chances the S.E gets...

I want to see how many offsides the S.E gets if Osimhen does not start and if we would from any chances created during Osimhen's absence especially against a good team...

Let me ask you a question, what do you think is the problem of our national team? why do you think we find it hard to score against a 'good' team?
poor coaching,
poor goal or chance creation training,
selfish players,
selfish players who want the glory of "I scored the goal",
poor crossers of the ball,
poor wingers who don't know how to cross,
poor passing training
poor corner kick takers
poor free kick takers
e.t.c..

We are thinking alike my oga and you be undisputed great mind, maybe I am one too grin. In my opinion for personal glory, he may just become the next Adebayor for Togo. at this rate, Gift doesn't need Nigeria to get to wherever he wants to get after all no be say he is where he is now because of 9ja. Another challenge for him is that, he can't bench Osimhen and it will be a war for him with Moffi, Awoniyi and Sadiq still young and playing. Let's not use him as a winger, he's a striker, finish!!!!
ChrisKels:
What makes Gift Orban bigger than the U23s?

Has he shown more promises than his predecessors who started from the U23s such as David Okereke, Osimhen, Dennis, Awoniyi, Imoh Ezekiel etc.

Who is the captain of Ivory Coast U23? A Chelsea first team player - Datro Fofana.

Where does Afena Gyan play for Ghana?

What level is Badiashile with France, and Madueke etc with England?

What did Gift do to warrant a call up for the super eagles in their recent gathering?
Kog45:
I don’t mind having Gift in eagles but he is not bigger than under 23,not at all....Fact tactically Bosso and Salisu are outdated in modern day football. It is a pity our Finidis,Amunekes who did it in Europe as a player and went for good grade coaching courses are finding it difficult to be accepted at home with NFF preferring mediocre.
Ihenzy:
I remember when Osihmen was dropped to the U23 to play and dude didn't have issue about that.
Orban is doing well but the fact still remains that he was not needed during the last window in the Super eagles because he could only observe proceeding from the bench. Why not go to the U23 where your services are needed.
Orban was greatly needed during the last window.

because anyone who watched the S.E since last year AFCON defeat to Tunisia and World Cup qualifier draw against Ghana knows that the S.E does not score against good teams and that means the S.E needs goalscorers like Orban, Boniface e.t.c and midfielders like Nwakali, Onyedika, Yusuf e.t.c and wingers like Ejuke to score goals.

Orban will reduce and protect Osimhen or Moffi chances of getting injured because he can bench either of them or be subbed on at 60mins for any of them don't forget Cancelo was benched by an 18 years old player because Pep wanted to do so.

Osimhen or Moffi can be benched if the coach ( or NFF ) wants to bench either them in order to test other goalscoring strikers and protect Osimhen or Moffi from injury.

Besides Osimhen has not been scoring against good national teams and I sometimes feel as if his lack of goals against strong national teams is sabotaging the S.E.

The S.E is not England that has Ivan Toney but will let Harry Kane play the whole match due to bias and won't even test if both Ivan Toney and Kane can start the match together.

Football should be run by ex-footballers..

Whether they run it better or not does not matter. If they fail then other ex-footballers should replace them..

If a refereeing governing body is run and headed only by ex-referees then the football governing body should also be run and headed by ex-footballers.

Sir,I don’t want us to go this way cuz some we see no reason in our discourse and better not to turn this thread to political sections where everything goes...now we have NFF president from the north but our brother from South Amaju Pinnick made these appointments....as I said the issue with Nigeria football is beyond ethnicity and religion. It is all about corruption.

No sir

Incompetence and Mediocrity has. We shouldn't bring ethno-religious colouration to the conversation. Gasau didn't even appoint these coaches, Pinnick did. They are simply just mediocre, let's leave religion and ethnicity out of it.
In Nigeria, you can't rule out ethnicity and religion.

What zuchyblink means is mediocrity because they are not incompetent since they already play football professionally they are not good enough to play for any of the national teams.

Then mediocre coaches.. Pinnick could have also made the appointments because he didn't want to be seen as a tribalist.

At least he could have appointed Tijani Babangida or Celestine babayaro or any other high performing northern nigerian descent coach or ex-players.

If I have to make rules for football, the first rule will be NEVER play Iwobi on the wings.
Emmy450:
nawa o, iwobi has found his best position which is the midfield, but you think the wings "which he performed averagely" is what he needs?? In the time the super eagles are craving for creativity from the middle, you are suggesting a sacrifice of the only creative spark.. nawa oooo
The strikers need players that can cross the effectively and Iwobi and Aribo are the available forward players that can cross well.

Unless iwobi plays midfield but also goes to the wing to cross the ball.

Moffi has to start.

Aribo can cross.. S.E needs wingers that can cross. Play Aribo on the left wing and play Ejuke or lookman or Iwobi in the right wing.

If Iwobi is playing right wing then more midfielders have to be called up.

I want to see what a right wing of Iwobi and midfield of Nwakali, Onyeka and Onyedika will play Ndidi can be subbed in the 2nd half.

The moment Chukweze understands Osayi's movement that right side will be deadly. I would prefer an Aina and Simon/Lookman on the left.
Play Ejuke or Aribo on the left and play Chukwueze or Lookman on the right.

Lookman plays from the right for Atlanta.

If Aina was playing he would have made more crosses than Osayi. Osayi plays safe football and that's good when you're leading but troubling when you're losing.

Chukwueze should add 'R2' or curlers to his game and he'll be unstoppable.
He needs to learn to shoot on target first before learning how to curve the ball.

If he knew how to curve the ball then he would have been a good crosser.

Which also means he won't have blasted the ball but he would have crossed the ball calmly into the net.

In fact all he had to do was lob the ball into the net.

U just described playing it safe. If he had tried to dribble everyone and Shoot u can say overdo.

Like I just said Mr Ineedmoney, that can happen to any player. I can't count the number of times napoli players do the same with Osimhen.
All Osayi had to do was run past the defender and put a low cross into box he didn't have to stop and pass back or dribble anyone.

He ran past the defender on more than one occasion and failed to cross.

The point is before they start their over-dribbling they should make sure the S.E is leading the match.

They should feed the strikers more than trying to take the glory and the strikers too should learn to stay onside and stop going for the same crosses.

Someday we gonna get it right but until then, here are my thoughts.

Every game we invite the same starting 11 that don't know the first rule of the game. TEAMWORK!
We pretend that the midfield problems have been fixed and expect things to just start off. Nothing has changed. It is still Rohr's mentality playing out in the team though we have a different coach. Can someone also help us discern any noticeable philosophy of Peseiro (the provider of Lies) All he does is invite players and insha Allah.

It is a wonder how we will have array of good players and struggle to win. On top of that people will start to blame it on bad pitches.

I didn't watch the match and can't say I am surprised we lost. Same song we been singing since the days of yore.
My panacea? Fix the midfield issues with the aim of controlling the game and full frontal attack.
But who am I kidding? That's never gonna happen with a certain Moses Simon overdoing simple things as well as dodgy team selections that only cause imbalance to the team
If we don't get it right before the next international break then the S.E is doomed.

The quality of strikers the S.E has now won't be there in the next 10 - 12 years.

Look at Italy even though they won the euros. Once the era of inzaghi, del piero, de rossi, totti, pirlo e.t.c they have struggled to qualify for the world cup twice.

Osimehn needs to calm down with his body language whenever things don’t go his way. This is one of the reasons why Cristiano is hated. He will get away with this attitude if he keep scoring but the moment that he stops scoring like today, it’s a toast.
Osimhen needs to boycott the S.E if they keep inviting players like moses simon, onuachu, chukwueze, osayi Samuel, ihenacho to the team.

That's like inviting 5 Insignes to the team, players who want to be the one to score the goals.

Osimhen can only thrive with players making him the focal point of attack, the person to pass to or cross to or play corners to..
