Every Nigerian with an access to the internet now feels obliged to jump into every discussion on social media. They wake up, search twitter and jump on any trendy topic with an I TOO KNOW mentality. Before you do such, ask yourself these questions:


1. Hope it's not a propaganda hashtag on a smear campaign

2. Must I tweet on it?

3. Hope my tweet won't be judgemental

4. Have I heard the other side of the story?

5. Do I have all facts concerning the issue?

6. Hope my tweet won't give those involved a bad reputation in public

7. Am I an expert on such issues?

8. What if I later realise the trendy hashtag was all a smear campaign, will I retract my tweet or apologise?

9. Is there a likelihood that my tweet might put me in trouble?

10. Hope my contribution won't be based on sentiments and emotion.



You never can tell, a person who an hashtag is created against might actually be innocent of the said accusations. An example is the #OshifalaSaga where many twitter users lambasted and judged Mr Oshifala guilty even to the extent of making up cases of ghost students who also were victims of his alleged pedophilia act. To our greatest surprise, the students of the school and their heads of departments all thronged the streets with placards all calling for their favourite teacher's vindication. They say they don't think such happened nor even know who the victim is.


Hashtags such as #DasukiGate, #TyrantBuhari, #BukolaGate etc might just be on a campaign of calumny. We never can tell until a competent court of law pronounces a judgement on the figures involved.

Please bear with me. The thread is a bit long. This thread is about me and not my friend. (lol)

i honestly need mature advise from the married and matured folks here.

I am in a very serious relationship with this lady. This is our 12th months together and i plan to propose to her in few months time.

I observe that she has hot temper. Each time we had little misunderstanding she flare up and wouldnt calm down for us to resolve and settle it amicably.

Being a gentleman i believe there are no perfect relationships. Quarrels and disagreements must pop up no matter what.

Yesterday we quarreled due to certain issue we had agreed on. I must confess i caused it but i was quick to realise it and apologise but she wouldnt listen. She made an attempt to call a friend of hers to report the issue. I stopped her. She again wanted to call her pastor too i blocked her hands and was surprise why she is inviting third parties to our matter. She was even voicing it out for people to hear us quarreling and i was calming her down to lower her voice.

This lady is the type every man needs. Religious, good cook, prayerful and she gives me advise on so many occasion.

Her parents are late and she was abandoned by her brothers and sisters due to change of religion. I dont know maybe this affected her attitude.

I myself i have my own wrong sides yet i am ready to accept her wrong and hope she do the same to me. But she wouldnt.

I have talked to her about her anger and made her understand that it is not good for us. Yet yesterdays event surprised me.

Please sorry about the long post. I just need advise or advises about how to handle this issue with my woman.

To add she is 23 and i am 29 years.

There is freedom of speech every where but freedom after speech cannot be guaranteed, she is very stupid knowing very well the kind of society we live in,this is not America it's just an ugly fact,i have a friend who worked for etisalat and the day they discovered she has an extra mtn Sim her appointment was terminated,sadly they will not state why they sacked you they simply tell you your services are no longer required so it will be hard for you even in court,dont just run your mouth on social media thinking it's a faceless medium, at list to protect your job,even FBI spy on their citizens on social media if you talk anyhow especially on national security they will frame you up and pick you up.people should be careful on social media

Reading comments below I can see that data services are faster in the north... N Muslims always comparing n contrasting. Yes obj grew abit through tech but was too naive to put strategies for future management of it all. Or is it that dafftttt. IBB? People with IQ less than 20 are called? I pity this country when youths are just less corcerns and easily washed by what they hear without finding out what's true.
How many Nigerians can actually give a breakdown of monthly cash the federal sends down.. Where and how its used? We don't care but u are okay.

Always quick to attack others when they are being descriminated based on tribe,religion n gender. This is Nigeria where these things are rife.
