If you fail in something, learn to share your mistakes so that others can learn.
In so doing, maybe we can collectively make the world a better place.
My brother, I am so grateful for this thread, though I have no plan traveling out, but because you don't want any of your brother to make same mistakes.
For those discouraging him, why don't you give him hint that will guide him from making same mistake you have made. Or do you enjoy seeing others fail just as you did.
"To fall" is inevitable, so my brother, harden your heart, soul, mind, and body...

My only anger now is the people condemning her for loosing hope in Jesus but still believe its a curse brought to her by her mom. Then my question is how would our most loving Jesus allow a lifestyle of a parent turn into a curse to an innocent child? You all using Job in the bible, pray that God don't re-equip the satan that tested Job for your sake. You will not only denounce God, but all its creation. Its not always easy to pass through hard time, and if you see anybody passing through it show the person love. The gospel is nothing without love, show sympathy rather than criticism...

Business / Re: After NYSC What With #500,000 In My Account? by Cof1ex(m): 3:31pm On Aug 14, 2020
TheSparrow:
There are several businesses you can start and run profitably in Nigeria. Below are four that readily comes to mind:

1. Rice Milling: One of the best businesses one can venture into in Nigeria today is parboiled rice production (Rice Milling).

Nigerians currently consume over 5 million metric tons, which is equivalent to over 100 million 50Kg bags of rice annually. With the current population growth rate of Nigeria, the consumption of rice is estimated to reach about 35 million metric tons (700 million 50Kg bags) by the year 2050.

There is high demand for rice in Nigeria. With a population of over 180 million people and an estimated national population growth rate of 5.7% per annum ,an average economic growth rate of 3.5% per annum in the past five {5} years, Nigeria has a large and growing market for rice.

As it stands, the current producers of good quality rice in the country cannot even meet up to 50% of the current demand. This is the reason why the market is flooded with poorly produced and low quality rice.

New entrants into the rice milling industry that can produce good quality parboiled rice will have an evergreen market waiting to be sold to.

2. Drinking Water Production: Another good business that does very well in Nigeria is drinking water production (Bottled water and Sachet Water).

The growth of the middle class in Africa in general, and Nigeria to be specific, has led to a need for hygienically produced and well packaged food products like bottled water.

The market for packaged water is high and cut across all parts of the country. With a population of over one hundred and eighty million (180,000,000) people, and an estimated national population growth is 5.7% per annum, Nigeria has a large and sustainable market for packaged water.

3. Poultry Farming: Poultry farming is yet another business that gives good returns on investment.

Poultry farming has risen to become one of the most lucrative businesses in Nigeria today. This aspect of livestock farming, if set-up and managed properly, provides legitimate continuous income for entrepreneurs within a short period of time. There are over 160 million consumers in Nigeria and over one billion in Africa. This provides a large, growing and sustainable market for poultry farmers in Nigeria, and Africa in general.

4. Pounded Yam Flour Production: Pounded yam flour is another product that you can chose the invest in its production.

Pounded yam is a popular delicacy produced from boiled yam tubers, and is consumed by many people across Africa. However, a lot of people, especially the middle class find it difficult to prepare pounded yam the traditional way which involves boiling yam, pounding it in a mortar using a piston, until it becomes a succulent dough.

The growth of the middle class in Africa in general, and Nigeria to be specific, has led to a need for hygienically processed, easy to prepare and well packaged food products like yam flour.

Wishing you all the best in your quest.

why should i publish the list of a community for you online? If u are from there, you either confirm if its in the normal range of ur people or if exaggerated by bride family & kinsmen to exploit the groom(and the implication). I believe that is the main underlying purpose of this thread
how then can i confirm if your claims are true. I still maintain my previous reply, lets see the list and stop condemning Arochukwu for you are causing more trouble that u can ever imagine...

What I will do if I were in your shoes....
So far I can save up to #200k through riding motorcycle, I'll gladly buy a new one, start riding to start. Simultaneously, I'll start either a poultry or piggery business as the remaining amount could still be enough to start just one.

Six months into the business I'll then kick start the other, as sufficient money would have been raised by then.

I believe I the space of a year you will have made enough money to focus into agriculture alone thereby leaving you with the option to either sell your bike or give it out as hired purchase.
You can then start buying for people then.

My two cents ✌️
thanks plenty. I still have my bike, not up to a year old..

you can buy treasury bills. from CBN or any bank.
every 3 months, you'll receive a very good alert for as long as the money is there.
at some point, you can decide to take all your money back
I wanted to do this with the initial 200k but it bounced back.

My bro, don't leave that bike biz which you have experience with. Just upgrade a bit probably try with hire purchase. Use what's left on farming either rearing snails or fishery. Congrats! You are one of those few that made something out of NYSC. In my opinion, remain in Santo. There's nothing in Abia to do with this sum o. 2. Stay where u have no one because u think straight there. 3 u might need job to support your hustle because biz takes 3-5 years to grow o and I'm sure you should be planning on making a family in 2-3 years time that's if you haven't started. So Sango is ur best bet. I was in ur show this time 2015 (realized a little more sha with teaching and exam Runz) and I thank God for where I am today. God that did mine is still on the throne and will surely help you too. Remain blessed

Of course, you just have to be meticulous in your search. Don't buy from car dealers, rather look for someone selling his own personal vehicle, you'd get it cheaper and your mechanic can help you confirm its condition.

I think it's better than office business for someone like you who has the guts to push. Even if it's just part time... You can keep making daily cash while trying to secure a better job or going for a course... God will guide you bro.
God bless you

Excuses:
First and foremost, congrats for the struggles pains u assets true to save this little...
Take my storey serious ex-corper.

In 2015 my father gave me 400,000 to start something with my life,i was 500 level then federal university of Technology Minna..

The questions ur asking now were what i ask muself, only i didn't put it on nairaland.. I brainstormed with few intelligent friends..Am studied Agricultural economics. so the piggery, poultry, etc were all in my head, infact it's been in my dreams to own my farm. but this amount is small, what do i do, i thought to muself.

Boom my inspiration came, to start an egg shop in Abuja.here is the thing.. I bring my eggs from Jos. Jos is close to Abuja.then i was buying 650 per crate in jos & selling 800 hundred in Abuja.650 times 500 crates then was 325,000. I bought i small container pimped it 2 house my eggs. cost of transporting d eggs was 20k.

Since i started i've not regret it 4 a moment.d turnover was impressive.I was paying my sales girl 15k den now she earns 45k.I have almost 4 egg shops in Abuja and one I Benue.

You can only imagine what i have made so far..through out all this years i've learnt one thing in business."If u want something big in life,go for the bigger risks".

Ogun is a home for egg production, you can be a distributor and also own your shops..just make sure u have access to a target market, ur turnover is guaranteed plus egg is multipurpose not like broiler.

Wish u luck...
thanks plenty
