PhysicsMHD:
1. It was a joke. If you haven't seen Ileke-idi's posts about African men on this forum before, then it's clear why you don't understand my comment. I don't take her many variations on that statement seriously enough to respond with anything other than jokes.
2. The people in that picture aren't Nigerian, period.
3. Trust me, the things some African men are thinking and occasionally saying about African women vs. other women aren't exactly pleasant either. This is even evident on nairaland's romance section, not to talk of in real life.
4. Asian men? Hilarious. Anyway, go ahead, nobody's actually stopping y'all.
oh come on, no one is off the table including asians wink. All options are open in my family, we embrace all race of people tongue

@ op sorry for derailing the topic, i'll stop here : )

African leaders of the past generation have failed the entire continent. They are fools, in my opinion.
that just about says it all, maybe they'll wake up before it is too late, who knows

PhysicsMHD:
Maybe it's their mothers not raising them right? Who knows? There are Ghanaian (Akan) traditional leaders in that pic. And we all know how women dominate the culture in Akan culture and in Ghana. 2000 Ghanaian men thrashed by their wives just last year alone. Their wives probably told them to take the pic and they complied to avoid a beating.
shocked, yeah the comment the lady wrote about African men isn't so nice but she actually said something that some or many african women are thinking about african men. When you say that, you have to remember that these are thesame mothers that had to work under the harsh conditions in Nigeria just to raise a kid, well, it is your prerogative.
Anyway African women should start looking at foreigners  tongue (e.g the 4million excess of men in asia  undecided), i know many of us won't want any male child to blame us for their failures .

Too bad our leaders aren't much to write home about - they give the good african men a bad name.

pele o billy, like someone mentioned earlier if you come we'd have to ration the village food just for you because you americans eat more than your share embarassed. Anyway, let us know how long you'd be staying for so we can tell the villagers how long they'd have to starve for or even die undecided. You know things are difficult these days so bring plenty of green, no machines, only green ok grin. We love you long time and all in the village say cheeeeeese  grin .

PoliticsRe: I’m On A Mission To Rescue Nigeria –buhari ! by coldhearts(f): 5:13pm On Mar 03, 2011
ok let's see:
ACN, Ribadu seems to be a better choice cos he's young, practical and seems to understand where he is going.
Buhari is too old, old people can't change the old ways of doing things, he is just too old and an easy target for foreign interest it seems(maybe that's why nairaland makes it a point to bring him up everyday).
With GEJ, it is hard to say-not sure yet where he's heading. Then again, this is Nigerian politics, you can never be sure what you're getting so just smile smiley.
Foreign AffairsRe: Al Jazeera: Gaddafi Stole $82 BILLION by coldhearts(f): 10:52pm On Feb 26, 2011
I hope our leaders (past and present) are watching, If you have money abroad, bring it back to Nigeria to store it, don't care if you stole it; Just keep it in our country  smiley  lol.  Better us than leave it to some foreign country.

A word is enough for the wise wink

I would probably never understand why some leaders feel compelled to own/ steal this much wealth from their own people.

huh huh, it's a big deal, are you kidding me, it takes several months of study just to pass that exam and it's even harder now, not to mention getting into residency is difficult- not joking  shocked. I give her due respect for getting that high up there.
PoliticsRe: Obama Appoints Dr. Olufunmilayo Falusi Olapade To Us Cancer Advisory Board by coldhearts(f): 6:37am On Feb 26, 2011
I am proud of her and i think any reasonable person should cos it takes a whole lot of hardwork to get to where she is - passing the incredible US Medical Licencing Exam  / hospital residency/ fellowship in oncology huh .

Some bitter comments here are seriously undeserving. She did extremely well for herself.

,
It's about time we praise those doctors in Nigeria as high as we praise those that make it outside the country smiley
PoliticsRe: What Is The Nigerian Dream? by coldhearts(f): 5:27am On Feb 26, 2011
Break up into 3 parts peacefully with women and the youths valued as equal in politics and growth/development of the country. The break up part might just be my dream only, not necessarily your average nigerian dream  tongue.
Foreign AffairsRe: Angola's AMAZING Post-War Transformation by coldhearts(f): 1:31am On Feb 25, 2011
@spritz
At the end of the day, if a govt does it's job and its people have a future, who cares whether it's communism, socialism, et.c, i know i wouldn't care. smiley
China (only communism in name as far as i've heard) is doing well but it is also plagued by recent capitalism, leading to a gap between rich and poor - this is also problem in western countries and it's quite prevalent in Nigeria too.

Honestly, all we need in nigeria is someone with a vision for extremely rapid development, someone who is also a protectionist in areas that are of interest cos Africa is worth more than europe based on resources alone ( at least i think so but i may be wrong). However, it seems like we've been manipulated, bullied and cheated even by those that led us in the past to the point that we think otherwise, how ironic shocked.

Anyway i'm even more convinced that China is a better choice in development/business in Africa just by looking at Angola and a few other places.
Foreign AffairsRe: Angola's AMAZING Post-War Transformation by coldhearts(f): 2:04am On Feb 24, 2011
spritz:
They did this through foreign investment with the governments help, and it is to my understanding that the Chinese are helping the Angolans out very very significantly.
Cosign. It looks like China is a better partner in business and development in Africa. Time to give respect to whom its due smiley.
BusinessRe: IMF Proposes Devaluation Of Naira by coldhearts(f): 2:50pm On Feb 21, 2011
@manny4life
ok i see your point a bit but i cannot comment cos i'm not that good in business/monetary issues but on a less serious note -what kind of hard work did the dollar do to get high up there, jumping ropes, running, cleaning out competitors at will cheesy . Time to get the naira working but i doubt that will happen with the IMF - that lazy naira angry.
I might be tempted to even agree with the person above you which is to adopt the chinese yuan or dollar, not sure if that is wise though, i'm still in favor of the naira. Now should the need arise, preferrably yuan cos the dollar is risky right now judging from what you wrote.
Ok i derailed, i'd let the experts handle it but i know that the Naira should NOT devalue any further. I think some people here explained how it works in lay man's terms e.g kazey's post- i think that just about says it all.
BusinessRe: IMF Proposes Devaluation Of Naira by coldhearts(f): 5:07am On Feb 21, 2011
manny4life:
No offense but you sound really ignorant when you say DUMP THE DOLLAR, like for real? Do you know how many power nations that have tried dumping the Almighty $$$, they failed and here a mere country not contributing to the dollar, yet u suggesting they dump the $$$. They would do that at their own peril.
my bad, apparently your problem is reading cos i said "dump the dollar if needed" and Nigeria may be a mere country to you but it is not to me. Anyway  emphasis on "if needed or come up with a better idea"- (an acknowledgement that my idea wasn't necessarily all that) . Eitherway, any idea can be used as a bargaining tool against devalue.

Yes even a few countries like Russia, China, south korea and many more considered that last year, i'm not sure if they did that yet.
I may not be good in business/ monetary issues but i do know that the dollar is overvalued which can have a long term negative effect on economies of the world even in Nigeria - common sense (if you did not get this point- go and google it up or read some books, it will help with your reading abilities too); perhaps IMF needs to focus on that dollar first before heading for the Naira or mere naira in your case.
BusinessRe: IMF Proposes Devaluation Of Naira by coldhearts(f): 9:29pm On Feb 20, 2011
NO shocked, we must must NOT devalue the Naira, if anything, it is way too undervalued, very typical of IMF . Pls Jonathan/ Nigeria try to do the right thing - DUMP THE DOLLAR if needed.  If they insist we devalue, we should dump the almighty dollar which is in serious limbo or come up with something better undecided.
PoliticsRe: US Warns Nigeria Over Nuclear Technology And Iran by coldhearts(f): 6:26pm On Feb 02, 2011
@blackcypha
I'm sorry, should i care for u*s*a? it looks like it is doing well on its own.
they say "as you lay your bed so you lie on it", ask the u*s*a how it laid its bed and why it is so paranoid about terrorist when it funded it in the past -the so called afghan terrorist were used to fight off russians earlier and all of a sudden they are now terrorist. Well, If i were you, i'd be more afraid of the u*s*a since it actually used that technology in the case of hiroshima (many japanese died), no moral conscience huh shocked . It got away with using it; they say since the japanese started the war, it's ok lipsrsealed.

At the moment, 1 million iraqis and roughly 4thousand u*s*a soldiers are dead- all for what  huh, pls enlighten me cos i just lost my faith in humanity and if i were you-i'd be very afraid cos anyone of us could be the next victim of a useless, moraless society.

Put yourself in the victims shoes for one moment and i'm sure you'll agree even for a second that everyone should own it or everyone should destroy it. I'd prefer the latter but we all know the latter will never happen.

PoliticsRe: Do You Still Have Faith In Nigeria? by coldhearts(f): 6:58am On Jan 09, 2011
Many of those in power might want to rethink the future, shortsightedness may not be pardoned due to a fiercer competition for resources worldwide, we might need to be more competitive/educated/protective and creative just to survive

I know we are improving in some areas but here's a good example of not so great leadership-
Some (including) our leaders travel all the way to europe for medical services only to have a nigerian in europe/developed country treat you grin?
A country that doesn't offer goods and services utilizing its own people can only grow by so much undecided.

I don't think the leaders dislike the country per se, just their past actions came across that way possibly due their myopic views of the world. Now even their children abroad and in Nigeria will bear the grunt and pain if there's no positive change.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i have faith in nigeria cos we have great potential smiley even foreigners know this huh

I love my country so much, but my country leaders doesn't like the Country, they love themselves and don't care about us or the country.
cosign but a time will come when they or their grandchildren would be  be forced to love what's left of it wink

Hopefully they do the right things now so their own children's children can live better lives and compete with the rest of the world or risk a bleak future of regrets and suffering. Considering that some of their children that go abroad aren't necessarily living free and happy lifes there cos of race issues and more; it would be a big gamble not to fix the country and expand this into our neighboring countries as well.
PoliticsRe: Do Nigerians Need To Learn Chinese? by coldhearts(f): 4:01am On Dec 27, 2010
Anyone that wants to learn has their own reason and it's not a bad idea to learn it even for the fun of it either.
For those who say it's hard, nothing comes easy but guess what, i know some yorubas that are learning it already. The future is going to be very different from today and knowing more than English (especially learning mandarin or cantonese) is important. Anyway, you can simply allow yourself to be deceived by friends of nigeria who say otherwise wink.

ps
@ maple, many chinese bias against us comes from what was portrayed about us by foreign media but eventually some of them developed their own opinion and changed that rhetoric. So they have some ignorant people there who have prejudice just like we do so how can we judge them?.
I sense a bit of amnesia here - did chinese enslave us?, did they kill us for just looking different? talk of prejudice but yet we forgive.  Anyway, things take time to change and it's definitely changing already.
PoliticsRe: Libya's Gaddafi Proposes 1 Million-strong African Army by coldhearts(f): 12:39am On Dec 16, 2010
BTW Chinese are very useful to us so i wouldn't welcome that idea, we can certainly learn from them, be it history or technology/expertise.
Gaadafi can't be serious. whatever is he on lately?.

1 million against drones or is it a million against a billion army strong huh  angry  (senseless), anyway, i do have to give him credit for the Unity idea but that needs to have preset conditions like - countries can only join if they treat their citizens right, create jobs, justice prevails etc

PoliticsRe: What Wikileaks Has Taught Me - Thisday Editor by coldhearts(f): 12:55am On Dec 15, 2010
I guess the moral of the story is that we need to clean out our motherland and also clean out corruption from the west that we find ourselves entangled in smiley.

We really need to provide security to ourselves and perhaps nationalise anything in our basic interest for the future while harvesting the potentials of the youth; only then can we guarantee that more nigerians will be proud and never sell himself out/short.

Hopefully our leaders will realize that money is just paper- really just paper any western country can print loads of it, hence worthless. Money is not worth sellling all our natural resources to strangers for. Think of it; if all our resources belonged to the same foreigners, we'd be at their mercy if not wiped out. Time to look at countries that are mutually beneficial. God bless Nigeria cheesy

By the way only someone that doesn't understand nigerian complex mentality would use the word "inferiority complex" to describe their acts lol  NLgrin grin grin. (Africa is very diverse in skin color, culture and more and nigeria is no exception)

This is what happens when religious fanatics interprete the news to fit their own fairy tales.
There are two sides to every story and anyone that thinks that half stories about NKorea/Skorea are ultimate truths simply displays ignorance. It's like believing the idea that africans live in trees or are all so poor and helplesshuh.
on some level both are wrong and so is the USA who is involved in it, does this necessarily mean wwwIII-not necessarily, world end-not necessarily again, does it call for labeling a leader antichrist-this is absolutely not necessary but then again we are entitled to our fantasies and ideas.

I doubt it's that serious yet considering it's just a tiny island that was set ablaze with relatively few casualties according to the media. When the whole south Korean border is broken off completely from the north and drifting in the ocean by itself; then it might be a little bit serious.
Foreign AffairsRe: North Korea Artillery Hits South Korea Island - 1 Dead, 15 Injured by coldhearts(f): 3:25pm On Nov 23, 2010
Maybe south korea should stop provoking the north with their military drills around a disputed border; get back to talks huh!!!!

PoliticsRe: Females Should Take Over Nigeria Political Affairs Now!!! by coldhearts(f): 3:38am On Nov 19, 2010
Beaf:
The fact that women play little part in Nigerias politics is a measure of our backwardness. The relegation of women to the background is something we learnt from the British and the Arabs. Britain has cleaned up her act since 1918 after the immense sacrifices of the suffragettes, while we and the Arabs have only sunk lower.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3153388.stm

Ever since we were colonised by foreigners, we have bastardised the high places women previously held. Where are the present day Queen Idia's (Benin) and Queen Amina's (Zauzau)?
Our Western neighbours, Benin Republic were not left out; the Kingom of Dahomey fielded a feared all-female military regiment renowned for its bravery. They were known as Mino or in modern times, Dahomey Amazons. Similar warrior princess armies were known amongst the Ashanti of Ghana.

In the shame that is today, we have primitive religious zealots actually calling on women not to contest political positions in Kwara and some Northern states. We need to change these things, women are as good as men and act as a natural counterbalance to out and out testosteronal leadership.
TELL THEM wink
I'm surprised the women in Nigeria are not extremely upset by this. Every other race tries to make life better for their women but some Nigerian men have gone the extra lenght to make life unbearable for women. We desperately need female leaders, they have held the family up and endured more than their share of misery and most likely knows exactly where to start with the repairs.
