Apparently, greed is the new norm ![]() |
Ibos have to really calm down, violence isn't worth it. Actually, all Nigerians need to calm down. |
Thanks john_blaze but i don't think Nigerians or most of africa suffer from mental slavery at all. I'm not sure why you wrote that (maybe that's pushing it a bit too far ). You have to understand that the average Nigerian doesn't care about "whites" nor slavery - be it mental or whatever lol. This is a good thing because nothing stops them from accomplishing any task when they choose to- most live, work hard (try to be self sufficient however possible) then die off- end of story (just like many places in the world). Granted we have more hardship, hopefully that would ease in the future with good leadership. This is in contrast to the american mentality or maybe south africa because people of different race and a history of apartheid have to associate closely with each other but i think many people are getting over that with recent black accomplishments. Anyway, Nigeria has a lot of good people and they persevere really well and their perseverance and patience is not to be confused with mental slavery or maybe i don't understand what you mean . |
"But look at China and Africa today! What made the big difference? Faced with the same White Peril as the Africans, the Chinese, from 1840 onwards, went into a political and social convulsion and into an intellectual ferment. The Chinese people staged reform and revolutionary movements which aimed to extricate China from the foreigners grip, rebellions flared up repeatedly against the Chinese Government for being ineffective in defending China from foreign invaders" "The Maoists founded , the People's Republic of China-and then made sure that no foreign power could control any aspect of production or culture in China. They reconstructed China completely, changed its internal and external economic relations, industrialized it and built up its power. Along the way, they fought America and its imperialist allies to a draw in Korea, China eventually joined the UN in 1971 and the WTO in 2001, it was not on terms dictated by the imperialists. China did not diminish its sovereignty to get some transient economic advantage." byDr. Chinweizu I think some Nigerians are still unaware of how far china has gone. Perhaps its time we break this vicious cycle/white peril we find ourselves in. We can take good knowledge from western nations but we don't have to let them control our resources/markets and affairs. No one has our interest in mind, no foreigner ever has, it's simply up to us and our leaders even if it means splitting, strengthening our borders e.t.c. That quick foreign money our elders/leaders pocket so quickly is a slap in the face to next generation - maybe some elders are not as smart and humble. Actually, we could have made more money if we had good leaders, I hope Pres. Jonathan will be tough and make necessary changes. The old alliances didn't work too well, so it's time to learn humbly and make new ones. Enough is Enough. |
I think Nigerian govt should step in and stop people from photographing our misery. In some countries, even the u.s i think, people are not allowed to photograph naked or mutilated bodies. We ought to stop letting international or national people take photos, let the dead rest in peace, This is not a freak show, the photos don't help anyone. Like the saying, let's not air our dirty laundry outside |
I think you have to do what is best for you and the kids. Goodluck cos it's not the easiest decision but it is better that the oyibo work too or at least work for you . |
"In my opinion the USA, though way far from perfect, is the best of the "empires" of mankind in civility so far - call me ignorant, but that is what I think."by naijamini. The u.s is certainly far from perfect but if history and the recent war is of any prove or rather a good predictor of pattern; then it is safe to say that it is indeed the "worst of the empires" of mankind in civility when it comes to foreign countries. The only reason it might get involved in Nigeria is because of "oil" i think. we might actually be better off learning from the eastern empires, i'm not saying they are perfect either but they seem certainly better. |
very funny NASA, continue to convince yourself of these things, good one lol ![]() now i have to go and find the milliseconds they said i might have lost ![]() |
JeSoul:Because the world can never see us as terrorist like some media desperately tries to portray us as. It's can be compared to a beautiful woman, men see her as the best among all women no matter how vile/evil other women says she is .Also it was very strange that u.s was quick to label us as terrorist, many nations have common sense and still question that. |
Actually some of us do have high moral grounds. wall street wins when it comes to the lowest moral grounds lol now my candid response to the topic; topic, not poster. Twinkle twinkle little star how i wonder what you are up above the sky so high like a diamond in the sky, my singing sucks lol. ----it means this is irrelevant to me or the many nigerians out there ![]() |
naijaway:It is rumored that all through the years of ibb we were cooperating fully with the u.s lol, everyone knows how that felt now that's left up to our leaders. Something tells me Nigeria simply want peace (judging by their patience during the sick president's absence) and U.S might want to seek the same in itself and it's backyard. |
Actually china met with jonathan goodluck and nta, it was not a secret private meeting as far as i recall reading. If it was for security reasons it is only logical that it should have met with the acting president. U.S is in misery and everybody knows that, it can barely fix its own problems inside U.S or outside - its war, guatanamo bay etc but i guess misery loves company ![]() It's hard to trust the u.s at the moment, besides, it needs resources for its projects so who is best to see than ibb. Honestly, we might need to have more restrictions on foreigners regardless of who they are if nigeria wants to survive - everyone else is doing that or maybe send their flights back on its way as it heads in lol. |
nethacker:I concur or better yet i hope he gets imprisoned for meeting with people who do not have our interest. It is quite possible that these foreigners are only out to secure oil for themselves by whatever means possible. |
I'm not sure what you mean by JJC, but if it's a bad thing then i guess you stooped to another low. It was just a simple comment but i guess you personalized it for unknown reasons. My sincere regards to you. |
Move this to a western forum, perhaps you'd find more commentators that will stoop to your level there . Poverty affects almost every nation now, what's new. |
"Who sold the slaves to them and where is their conscience in all of this?" by negro ntns Here's your answer, 1. a white washed history 2. Most slaves were NOT sold by blacks, perhaps sold by whites since it was a huge profitable industry then (this is not to say that some weren't sold but the truth has been skewed for too long) a. The whites had a gun, who fights a gun with a matchet. b. The blacks were very naive and charmed by the whites, they gave them women and more to show hospitality initially, in return some whites gave them gift for the hospitality c. The blacks captured initially were used to come back and destroy their own villages and hence more slaves were captured d. why would a greedy person buy if he can get a slave for free or by causing havoc. e. the idea of slavery in Africa or india or anywhere else is much different to the idea of slavery in America, this is a sour subject so i will stop here. please stop with that slavery nonsense that you want Africans to be guilty of, most of us are guilty of something but the truth about slavery is continually untold. Perhaps blame the whites for coming to Africa initially, no one asked them to come. I know Africa is not perfect but every nation has its good and bad people, Americans simply seem to have the worst greed. If you can't blame whites, blame it on greed cos each slave generated a lot of capital. |
good one lol i'm too stingy to give tips anyway ![]() |
like i said earlier, U.S is on a suicide mission if it goes in that direction of war which i doubt. Hopefully the world doesn't change the war to destroy America itself because survival also leads people to back up whoever is winning the war. The average person knows this. call it treaty of 1959 but it is psychological to go back to the past when in distress (perhaps a point where u.s felt powerful) - old tricks, look when you are weak, it makes more sense to give in to the strong neighbor, that is a survival instinct maybe Taiwan will realize this in time. A foreigner might help for their own cause but in the end, the foreigner goes home and Taiwanese will still remain there assuming there's anyone left surviving after such war. My point remains U.S will suffer more, that is where i place my bet. |
I think it's a bit delusional to think all these countries will continue to go in the direction of madness (all out war) and i say this with all due respect. Bear in mind that Europeans love life more than death while America is on a suicide mission, Europe is merely grudgingly following the lead for now - this clearly show in the amount of troops it pledges each time to Afghan. what happens when Europe gives in to its people's call to stop the war or was that simply ruled out. There's pure hate for Americans almost everywhere especially in the so called allies because people love peace. By the way, i'm sure Americans are not that foolish to presume that Taiwan (many Taiwanese are descendants of China itself) is more than a paper ally and the arms deal are probably antiquated stuff but this is merely my opinion. I agree with the comment you made that in war economical laws do not play in the same norm which explains a bit about U.S new strategy. Hope it doesn't get a surprise. I'm sure you realize that china's cash can easily be accepted by many nations besides the ones you mentioned. I know we will not agree on this issue and my initial statement still stands so here is a virtual handshake. |
EIRazu, you do have a point that things are complicated but why complicate it further by providing arms to a region that will likely loose if war broke out. U.S can barely handle its own problems at home. There's no jobs, minorities (including Asians) have the highest job loses, bad leadership (dems and repubs) and high debt; now U.S sells arms and ideal fantasies to people all over the world too lol. Do you really think that U.S cares that some Taiwanese people would rather remain separate from China? it's ok if you do i guess. The idea that the U.S wants to liberate Taiwan by arming it is merely ideological, Taiwanese people will most likely suffer the consequences of this more. Lastly, it will be as detrimental to the U.S if china kicks this so called number one consumer to the curb if not more so i hope it doesn't happen. |
The U.S is like a child throwing tantrums because he can't get what he wants -oil, power, perhaps war for hidden agendas. It continues to isolate itself from the world, even some Europeans have anti-American sentiments. I think it doesn't realize yet that you do not insult those you're indebted to (Us owes china billions in bonds), A nation in debt is a poor country and has no say in many things. U.S seems unable to adjust to it's new status - that is the problem. Maybe it wants to kill off the creditor so it won't have to pay lol - it would be a big mistake to try that on China. |
Almost everyone knows the guy is dead . Americans are just playing tricks on themselves now. 1 in 4 Americans has a mental problem, need i say more.http://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/topics/statistics/index.shtml |
On a more serious note, i think u.s and its intelligence are overly paranoid, probably the u.s current economic crises is clouding it's own judgement of people and situations. Now, if nigeria ever needed nuclear technology,i am 100 % sure it will be something beneficial, not destructive at all. It's really that simple . |
Problem - Bad leadership. We need a good/ tough leadership first and corruption will go away; most importantly we need a leadership that breaks its ties with any corrupt oyinbo out there. That leadership will need disciplined educated people to make a starting change. Nigeria needs to learn from Asians i.e Chinese and Japanese , Asians progressed when all odds were against them through much discipline. Asians also protected themselves well from major foreign influence unless when it was positive, we can take a lesson or two from them. Peace and tough leadership will eventually give way to more progress in Nigeria. P.S We need to stop blaming each other. we loose that way. |
The u.s is wrong on many things these days, i think they need new intelligence lol. |

. But not entirely suprising anyways . . . almost everytime I hear a story on mutallab, the statement is usually tagged with "The Nigerian Terrorist" . . . I don't recall other terrorists nationalities being constantly attached to their names like his is.
