Another smoker joins the club. My guy, as human beings we are inherently selfish. Nobody/nation does anything without self interest in the equation. the duty of govt, of any responsible govt for that matter is to pursue the betterment of it citizenry, society and nation as a whole. whose fault is it that nigeria, nay, africa as a whole cannot play the game. some come here talking crap about how wonderful china is forgeting that chinese companies come here and do exactly what these fools complain about USA. They exploit us and take the proceeds back home. until we stop blaming others for our problems we will never progress. Denial is a decease.
thanks for the insult, you must be my supplier grin. China's involvement in USA is what brought about major constructions of railways and aided in many developments already going on in the USA back then ok. Maybe if you tried other than sidon look (including all our ancestors) maybe we won't be needing china huh.
Right now, we need them and sure a few will take advantage but that is reality; reality is often bitter. Tell me what evil in the past did china ever do to us?, (if any it cannot be compared to the west). Now tell me what evil did the west do to us, in fact after pilaging us, they ridiculed us but that is the past and i honestly don't care about it much less blame anyone for it. You must learn from the past and you must recognise when you have no choice too.  Right now i'm not sure we have many choices here.

China is moving fast and if we stay by ourselves without moving with them we'd still be robbed . Wake up already shocked

Foreign AffairsRe: Castro Admits Communist Economics A Failure by coldhearts(f): 1:39am On Sep 12, 2010
that story is said to be false, apparently, there are claims that he was misquoted. He claims to have said" capitalism doesn't work,

here's the source
http://en.trend.az/regions/world/ocountries/1749147.html
"My idea, as the whole world knows, is that the capitalist system no longer works neither for the United States or the rest of the world; it leads to one crisis after another, ever worsening, global in scope, and inescapable," he was quoted as saying by AFP.

"How could such a system work for a socialist country like Cuba?" he added.
PoliticsRe: The Stupidity Of Westerners. by coldhearts(f): 1:10am On Sep 12, 2010
There's a lot of truth in what obuekwe is saying but that doesn't change much now; you cannot blame a thief for stealing from you if you couldn't defend yourself properly nor act wisely.
Our fate is our own hands ultimately. Also i think we'd do well and go farther with china and all of the east right now. However, if we go along with the west, we'd have ourselves to blame in the long run cos they don't help you for nothing and why should they? they owe us nothing and we owe them nothing. The west might be nice now because they have a lot to loose in terms of oil and mineral resources but should they get the upper hand again, our sufferings will most likely double.
In the long run, when and if we do achieve successful growth economically and so on, east, west, africa won't matter, we'd all be thesame but till then we need to go fast and that can only happen with the east i think.

bgees:
ignorance is the word. AA's are even more ignorant.
In the past i would have agreed with that statement but i have to say that is not true at all. The sad truth is that the ignorance exist in both equally, travel around america or just do a drive through some towns and stay there for a while; you'd be shocked to know that some of the attributes associated with AA is present and even more vivid within white communities. I know i was shocked at first.

That ignorance is widespread and knows no color. Just like drugs or better yet poverty, the new poverty that plagues the USA knows no color, it just depends on where you live in the states.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria And China Sign $23bn Deal For Three Refineries by coldhearts(f): 9:12pm On May 18, 2010
As for me, a deal with china is a good deal until proven otherwise.

Angola and a few other African countries is a good place to look at like someone else mentioned earlier.

I'm actually glad china is willing to work here because if they don't, there's a higher probability that we will simply remain stagnant for another decade or more, hence this is more of a plus than a minus.

Lastly, I wish a few peope would educate themselves, try to understand and make friends with a country that is trying to work with theirs. It will certainly reduce ignorance and grief cos the world is changing fast. If anyone wants to be upset, then be upset at yourself or your predecessors for staying so stagnant for so long while the rest of the world was developing their own economy and so on. sorry for my slight deviation from topic cheesy

you weren't joking lol, well then find someone else to talk to. Tell them everything you wish to discuss including NHS and so on  and how that is affecting you huh wink.

Secondly, i think English might be a bit difficult for you. Therefore, i will re-write my sentence that you have somewhat twisted in order to start a different argument or perhaps to simply amuse yourself.

The emphasis is on  "whenever " and i quote the remaining sentence "they decide to make war or steal resources from other countries", i never referred to the past here ok . This is where i stop the conversation with you.

your rantings deserves an applause. let's try to stick with the topic  wink

I've made my comment and i could care less what you say or think.

ElRazur:
Are you suggesting that those who work as nannies are illegal? And cleaners do not have papers? huh

How can the law be strict, or should I say it can only be perceived as strict if you are illegal and have something to hide.

Also on a  side note, why do people get all worked up when immigration and deportation or similar issues are been discussed around here? huh

The world may be a small place, but the resources inside it are limited. I work in NHS [Government's biggest healthcare set up, in fact, one of the biggest in the world] and I have seen how illegal immigrants can be a burden on this sector.

For example, people coming in from Nigeria/Pakistan/India etc without proper papers, who come here to be what we call "health tourist" i.e come to have their children here, in some cases do not have the right documents that enables them to receive free treatment on the NHS, however, as a health professional, we are bound by the duty of care and English law to still treat them.

A birth by an illegal immigrant in one of the NHS hospitals and a few days of stay to make sure the mum and new baby are okay will cost us in the excess of £4-5k per birth. This is money that could have been spent on those who are legal taken out of the system, a bed that could have been used for someone who have paid their dues is denied etc. And at the end, these folks leaves the UK or disappear into the system without ever paying back.

This sort of illegal immigrants are a drain on the NHS budget. So the whole idea of "free migration" is just silly. Period.
Are your questions real or are you joking? by the way, try not  to take words so literarily. Also, i have a suggestions about the NHS - if immigrants are a burden to the NHS and etc, then they should stand up against their policy makers whenever they decide to make war or steal resources from other countries. The amount spent doesn't make up for lost generations and the instablity there. There are better ways to do things.
Foreign AffairsRe: Black Colonialists: The Root Of The Trouble With Africa - Chinweizu by coldhearts(f): 3:49am On Apr 27, 2010
@ajanlekoko,
I do agree with a lot of things that everyone is saying here and if you read my earlier post, i'm sure you'd agree we are on the same page. However, i do not see myself the way you guys describe yourselves with the mental slavery and all. In fact, i mentioned it to a few nigerian people and they thought it was quite strange for you to see yourself that way. I simply think it is a matter of perception and this is where we all mainly differ. we can agree to disagree cheesy.

You also have to understand that they didn't plunder our economy because we allowed them to only, it's because they had the power to do evil and they did it with no restraint. They had the bigger toys- the guns, nuclear power, chemical warfare e.t.c so tell me what elite (or even uneducated) person would not fall victim to their demands?( One cannot fight a strong person alone especially if one didn't prepare for the fight and therefore must give in to avoid any damage). We have ourselves or perhaps our leaders to blame for not being prepared and also for being too naive initially.

Well, that was then, this is now and we do have to educate ourselves like you all said and perhaps in the future protect ourselves (if possible, join up with stronger nations if necessary to fight any form of injustice) .

lastly, If Nigeria fixes itself up starting with leadership, security/protection and good education, many people won't have to go abroad to pay for it and many of those abroad will come home. It's that simple.
Foreign AffairsRe: Arizona Immigration Law. Necessary Or Bad Law? by coldhearts(f): 2:34am On Apr 27, 2010
Arkison:
Migration, Immigration and emigration - whatever jargons they want to describe it with is a natural phenomenan among all living species. Animals, birds and humans have being migrating over centuries and will continue to migrate. To reduce migration, state control and racial profiling will not limit that. Rather, goverments of all countries have to look at it from human and natural perspective. Why do animals (human, birds, fish, zebras) migrate? People migrate in search of food and better condition of living and therefore migration will continue wether all of America introduce the law ane even if it force people to start wearing lapels on their pockets to identify a citizen and a non citizen. If the millions people thought to be illegal immigrants revolts will the gov't deport or kill all of them?

It is more reasonable to ask why should America consume 80% of the world oil and they are just less than 0.1 percent of the world oil? Of course people have to follow the oil to where it is consume since America are ready invade a country in order to consume more oil in their country.

Or why should kenyans be suffering from food shortage while 80% of their food production is shipped to Europe for consumption? Of course Kenyans will have to follow their food to Europe for consumption.

If there is continues movement of goods and natural resources then there should be continous movement of people.
well said, the percentages may not be so accurate but then it is alarming, i couldn't agree more.
Arizona only has roughly 10% illegal immigrants, what are they going to do, send them all back? huh . That law is too strict and a bit much, they can go ahead and get rid of all their nannies and cleaners and try to see if such a law even makes sense at all huh.

The world is a small place.
Foreign AffairsThe Oil And The Global Economy - confessions of an economic Hitman by coldhearts(op): 3:59am On Apr 24, 2010
It is interesting to see the way the global economy is set up such that the oil producing countries suffer the most in the hands of their beneficiaries.

It is a mixture of greed and cowardice on the part of a few, one just has to be critical here. Ignore the first 9 to 10 minutes of commercial at the beginning and note that Nigeria was mentioned towards the end.

The bigger thieves and scam artist are our white friends from wall street and the list is long and also those who expect to get something for nothing  grin

PoliticsRe: A WOMAN PRESIDENT - THE ONLY SOLUTION FOR NIGERIA! by coldhearts(f): 2:23pm On Apr 07, 2010
We definitely need a woman and we need to break away from these useless ones who think women are not intelligent enough. What have they accomplished-nothing, again and again they've shown arrogance and ignorance. Most cultures try to make life bearable for their women but some Nigerian men have made life extremely difficult for their women wink.

A woman president is absolutely the solution for Nigeria and would probably get more respect internationally as she fixes the mess we're in, thanks to our men grin. Women have always been hardworking in Nigeria, keeping everything together while the men seem aloof sometimes, it will be a great thing to have a female for a change.
Foreign AffairsRe: Black Colonialists: The Root Of The Trouble With Africa - Chinweizu by coldhearts(f): 10:53pm On Mar 25, 2010
Since you've figured it all out; there's no point in me replying you much. Perhaps you can do all that you've mentioned, i'm sure you have the brains and the energy. I'm sure you mean well undecided

keep looking in that mirror and calling yourself many things but you have to remember Rome wasn't built in a day. Nigeria crumbled a long time ago as a result of many bad decisions and will take time to fix as well.

Even though i might agree with some of the things you said, the rest is simply beyond me for example "western knowledge" (1st statement, 1st paragraph)-what is wrong with acquirng knowledge from them, don't bother replying that. "Average nigerian worshiping white man lol, white man come up with ideas to create job for his people" huh- you seem to give them a lot of credit cos there's high unemployment rate in Europe even with so much ideas.

The good thing about life is that you can study the person that did you wrong, acquire their knowledge, emulate what is good and leave out their bad and then use it to your advantage OR we can simply learn from the east and ignore the west if possible.

have a good day smiley.
Foreign AffairsRe: Black Colonialists: The Root Of The Trouble With Africa - Chinweizu by coldhearts(f): 2:38pm On Mar 25, 2010
at cap,

why?
why do you resort to bashing a whole group of people?. huh
why?
why bash nigerians, that is,if you are a nigerian; why not give constructive criticism which might make people interested in what you have to say without calling them names e.g mental slavery, ignorant, inferiority complex e.t.c (by the way the latter can only affect you if you live among a few low class american whites and allow it to huh).

You might want to try leaving nigeria alone if it's that bad for you, it will sort itself out in due time.

The nigerians i know here are highly educated, they'd do anything including going overseas for a good education. I'v met many Nigerians who are doctors, engineers e.t.c many in my family actually and that includes me as well. Some of the smartest people out there are Nigerians. Maybe you are angry now, many of us are seeing what is happening but that's no reason to bash it like this but then again feel free to, it's the world wide web.

We simply need to better ourselves more than just bashing, too much talking/bashing is one of the problems too. Do you not get tired of people saying nonsense about Nigerians. whyhuh

you start out bashing nigerians instead of the supposedly guilty foreigners that robbed us as in your first paragraph, then i wonder who is winning here - the foreigners maybe. Sorry if i appear to be harsh.
