She is very lucky to meet a listening merciful VO that is having a good day. Many people in her situation that fail to provide old passport with visa of their travel history are denied. Any deception always damages overall credibility of visa applicant. Read in between the lines of her interview. From the line, yes I have my old passport in the car and to another story of her driver go with the passport and she even confirm her lie, she said. Me: yes I don't risk foreign food like that(that was a lie sha) except pizza that I bought few times.. my own normal food.
She is very lucky. I must say again she is very lucky to meet such VO, another VO could have deny her the visa. Confidence indeed!!!
It's Pure LUCK. Honestly thought he would be denied when the passport thing was not adding up.

Congrats though. May God continue to confuse people to favor you.

Its my first time here and I wish to travel to US on a visit. UK visit seems flexible to me., But I barely know about US.

Can someone pls help me on ow to start the procedures and requirements needed.
A family friend invited me to come spend the xmas and new year with them. Planned on staying for 2 weeks.

Where will you be applying from. I don't think Lagos has interview dates for this year any longer.

You may get in Abuja though.

What do you do?

We hate ourselves too much to succeed in this country. Innosson cars are 60% locally sourced, which means that they will always be cheaper than imported brand new cars, but who buys them?
Nigeria needs a leader who will close our seaports and say with a straight face; 'if we dont make it here, we dont need it here'. Thats the only way to grow our local industries.
If electricity is the issue then pick one state (maybe Abuja) and give it steady power supply for industries with every and any means (including nuclear and solar)

India rarely imports. They try to make it in India
The report did not say cars made in Nigeria are not selling. It says purchase of New cars in Nigeria reduces from 50,000 to 10,000 because of the economic crunch.

You would know this if you read the report

I posted my post dropbox interview transcript on the birthing thread.

On why my passport was held for two weeks, I haven't the foggiest idea! I am sha glad it is all sorted!
Hehehehehhe. Sorry for that but the good thing is you jave been positively sorted out.

What did they ask when you when for the interview. Abi na personal?

This post made me smile yesterday... see as I don become reference point!

I finally got my passport back after almost two weeks. It was not funny waiting... not knowing what went wrong. I really was at my wits end because I had missed a meeting in the US and was on the brink of missing another in a different country.

It really is true what they say... Apply for visas as early as possible because anything can happen!

I did not envisage that I will be asked to schedule an interview after dropbox submission... or that the interview dates will be so far at this time of the year.

Lesson Learnt sha!
Glad you have successfully sorted things out.

Please what were you asked

Things like these make genuine visa applicants get denied.

The annoying thing is when they are telling this stories they believe themselves and want everybody else to buy into their lies

Good morning good people in the house. i applied for U.S visa last October and the available date for interview then was 19th of December 2017.
my question is this; My intended date of travel i filled in my ds-160 is 23rd of December, 2017 because i am going for xmas vacation. Hope the time interval won't affect the issuance of the visa and what's likely the question to expect over this and the answers.
secondly, on the ds-160 form part question about if i have make any travel plans...my answer is NO.
Your submissions are highly welcome.

Thanks God bless!
you can go and reschedule your appointment. As at this morning, there were dates in november 16th, 17th and 20th and early December.

Greetings to every body in the house.
My brother graduated in 2015 and got a job with maritine society of nigeria in the same 2015. His current salary is 450k . Now, he want to go for a maritine training in the states .
MY questn is this ; what are his chances of getting the visa, considering the fact that his only tie is his job and he is still single. HE is in his earlly 20's too .
thanks
Your brother stands a great chance. I am single and I got an American Visa. He should be able to justify why he picked the states for the course and that he will come back. (this he can show by hisb roles and responsibilities at work)

I always tell people who will care to listen:

Never attempt to overstay your visa. It's not advisable to live as an illegal immigrant in ANY country.

Once I stepped out of the building the security guys outside upon seeing my White paper starting asking for "do us well" "make we celebrate with you" "drop something for us"

I ignored them all

I've gone for my visa interview. Went with the following documents: 1. My GTB Receipt 2. My Appointment Slip 3. My Confirmation Slip 4. My International Passport 5. My Passport Photo and 6. Documents showing ties to Nigeria smiley

The documents I presumed will provide evidence of my ties include my bank statements, my appointment letter with my workplace and my appointment with an international organisation. Also I attached my hotel booking confirmation. All these I out in a separate file and tagged them evidence of ties to Nigeria grin

When I got to the venue I only went in with the documents I listed. To make things easy for me and the embassy security guys I left my belt and my money in the car. My appointment was for 6:45am.

All the VOs at the windows this morning were causcasians.......I think. There were lots of refusals. I also noticed the interviews lasted a bit longer than I expected. Its quite sad that one will be engaged on a lengthy interview and yet be denied sad

I can't remember my window but the lady in front of me was granted visa. Then I was called in:

VO: Good morning
Me: Morning
VO: Can I have your passport please
Me: *Gives him*
VO: So why do you want to go to the United States?
Me: Intend going to Dallas, Texas on vacation (didn't give details). Might also check on Mr G. who's a family friend (he then started typing)
VO: Oh ok, your family friend is based in the States?
Me: Yes he is
VO: Have you travelled outside Nigeria?
Me: Yes. I've been to Denmark, Germany, Holland, China, and India
VO: When did you travel to the Schengen States?
Me: I travelled on dates A, for Denmark, dates B & C for Germany and D for Holland
VO: All in 2017?
Me: Yes
VO: So you travelled twice to Germany this year? (Now facing me)
Me: Yes, I travelled on dates B and C
VO: So where did you travel to in Germany and what did you go to do in Germany?
Me: *This was my strong point as it enabled me explain the work I do for the international organisation which was what took me to Germany. He delved into testing my knowedge on certain areas to know if I was really telling the truth but I was vibrating since its a field I'm good in and passionate about. He asked over 5 questions here smiley. And he kept typing as I talked*
VO: (He then switched from my inernational job to my government job) So what do you guys do at your primary place of work?
Me: We regulate bla bla bla and my department where I work is particularly tasked with bla bla bla
VO: Mention the names of your fellow colleagues at your workplace who go with you to Germany for the assignment with the IInternational organisation.
Me: Mr U, J and I
VO: Are you married?
Me: No
VO: How many times have you travelled.
Me: *Haba I thought I had told you grin* 6 times to 5 countries
VO: I will be approving you visa. (He then picked up the white form and pointed at the address there). You will be contacted to pick your passport at this address. (He then handed over the white form to me)
Me: Thank you

I then made to go but I realise my passport wasn't with me. I wanted to go back and ask him for it cause it seemed strange to be going home without it grin...the last time I went, I got my passport back immediately after the interview. But I then realised that the reason why I wasn't given back my passport is because my visa will be embossed on my passport so they took it to emboss the visa.

As I walked out of the building, I made sure I put a serious face so nobody will ask me how it went but surprisingly a female mopol called me out and asked me with some measure of certainty if I got the visa. I said yes but I had no money on me. Also as I was about leaving the final checkpoint another mopol asked me for money. Now my question is this: How did they know that I had gotten the visa? I'm guessing the guys inside the building gave the guys outside some form of signal grin.

No document was requested just my passport. Not even my statement of result or appointment letters. I'm so grateful to everyone here. I am so grateful to Kristinbaby who gave me confidence and provided very useful advice. Most of all I'm most grateful to God.

Please I have a question......when will my passport be most likely ready for pickup. I'm travelling next week week Saturday to a schengen state. Hope it will be ready by then o.
See as you just dey happy. Contrasts

Your visa will be issued tomorrow but you will get it by Tuesday.

Good morning house

Lady G I need your help with this one
I'm so confused right now
I went for my interview yesterday but it didn't go well
This is my second interview
I asked the VO reason for denial and he confirmed my IV was fake
He said I can apply again but I'd have to explain the fake invite
Apparently our HR did not pay for the conference I'm supposed to attend and generated a fake IV he's currently on leave/on the run.(investigation is on-going).
I and two of my other colleagues were denied UK visas for a training last year because of his negligence
I have also lost out on a contract because of this same guy.
This man is trying to bring me down(He can't succeed)
Pls I need your advice on how to handle future applications although I don't intend applying anytime soon.
How do I put my integrity back in check for future applications with the U.S embassy
What kind of organisation do you work for. Your HR messed up your UK application, nkthing was said or done to him.

They gave you a fake invitation without payment to the organising Body, you didn't check to be sure knowing you are on the list of the inviting organisation. Yet u went to the embassy/consulate. Knowing that whatever happens there doesn't affect your organisation or the HR guy but u.

You lost a contract becaise of this same person yet the company still see the need to keep him.

I'm sorry but I'm not believing your story.

What you can do:

Get a letter from your company, detailing the error in judgement and the oversight. Send it to the embassy plus a personal letter from you.. way before your next application. And make sure you are giving accurate information in your next application and mention that u were denied and had written a letter stating what went wrong at the interview.
