You are very smart and totally understand the game and the most painful part of it is that the humongous forex needed for the game will be sourced from Nigeria’s already depleted forex market..meaning that this dollar crisis and uncontrollable inflation and high prices in market is not going away soon
Which game!? Skepticism go kill you. But I kinda understand though, given Nigerians antecedents. But why not verify from someone working there and see if they are actually refining products instead of just being negative based on skepticism.

Wasn't it obvious that Nigeria's production of about 1.3mln bbls could not satisfy Dangote refinery! Especially as a lot of that crude already has owners by way of alternative funding, MCA and forward sales agreeemnts.

PhonesRe: My SpaceX Starlink Internet Experience In Lagos, Nigeria by COMPAQ(m): 9:16am On May 10, 2024
Koko254:
Please guy I recently purchased starlink internet
I need the best backup battery for it
Mind you I have a solar system, which I did for about 3million, 4 genus carbon tubular battery 230ah
Felicity 3.5k inverter and 60A Felicity controller

But I don't want to be turning on my solar all the time, I gave internet access to 2 neighbors and they will be pay for it 12k each month,

So I need a backup battery for the starlink, a backup battery that can last upto 3 or 4 hours just powering only the starlink, just incase I turn off my main solar system
To those that know about solar and inverters an stuff, is felicity a good brand?

I ask because their 15kwh battery is going for like N2.96mln. Meanwhile other brands have even their 5kwh or 7kwh battery at that same price or even slightly higher. So wondering how Felicity battery is that cheap. Or is it that the battery inside doesn't really provide 15kwh?

Poor minimum wage of 30k in Nigeria means that Multichoice pay lesser on staff wages in Nigeria (part of cost of production) in Nigeria than in SA. One of the reasons why the charge here should be cheaper.
And operating costs such as diesel, multiple taxes and levies is more in Nigeria, so one of the reasons why it should be higher.

TravelRe: Some Epic Coastal Highways From Around The World by COMPAQ(m): 4:56am On May 02, 2024
Slytiger:
Ever wondered what the coolest coastal road trips in the world are? Picture the scene, you're cruising along a breezy, coastal highway, windows down, your favourite playlist on the car stereo. Utter bliss.

There's a real sense of freedom and romance to be had with a classic coast road trip, especially if your drive includes dreamy coastal scenery, quirky pit stops, challenging roads and fun passengers.

A coastal drive is the perfect road trip for seaside lovers and those seeking adventures and travel memories that will last a lifetime.
This attempt to 'greenwash' coastal road will only work for the largely illiterate among us - of which they are unfortunately many.

A road is meant to get you from Point A to B as efficiently as possible to boost economic activity. That economic activity could be trade, productivity, tourism etc. While a road may produce scenic views and become a sort of tourist attraction, it's very unlikely that that was the aim of its construction.

One thing you'll notice about almost all the roads you provided pictures to is that the road is flanked by mountainous regions. The road hugging the coast is therefore born of NECESSITY, as the cost of attempting to construct through the mountains continuous peaks and valleys will be mind boggling.

Nigeria doesn't have that terrain challenge, so why are we spending unnecessary money building a road that requires so much sand filling, when we could push it inland a little bit?

But wait, that road already sort of exists!! It's called the EAST WEST road from Calabar, to Uyo to PH to Warri to Benin to Ore to Shagamu to Lagos.

What makes sense is to do the VI to FTZ phase, then after the FTZ take the road to join the existing East West Road after Ore. That saves us a ton of money for other roads across the country that need urgent attention.

You people comparing us with roads in US, UK, Japan, China, Sweden etc check their annual budget and ours

Nigeria $33bln
US $4Trln
Japan. $750bln
South Africa $130bln

We should spend our money more wisely.

It's not about diaspora fund. Money can be borrowed from anywhere. The fact that the money came from Nigerians in diaspora doesn't mean it's any better than if it were to be from Eurobond issuance. It's still a debt.

The issue is what projects will it be spent on? That needs to be known upfront and the cost associated with each project clearly specified

Anyone that can pay above 100k per month can afford solar.
Not that straightforward. Solar may require as much as N5mln upfront cost if you want at least 5kva inverter and 10kwh li-ion battery storage which I imagine would need like 15 panels.

Inverter like N800k
Battery like N2.5mln
Panels @N100k each N1.5mln

What have the lazy ineffective governors been waiting for... federal government has since given states and entities right to build their power infrastructure...since the beginning of this administration.
So power plants just spring up overnight abi? Didn't some states have to do the groundwork to get their state electricity regulator up and running first?

Nigerians just talk nonsense Sha.

Anyway I don't expect state governments to be the ones building power plants. They should let the private sector tender for the provision of electricity at a contracted rate and they go build it.

Lagos State can have 500MW floating solar on Lagos lagoon in 3 years if they are serious. There is a global glut of solar panels now, particularly from China. Now is the best time. And we can back ot up with grid scale batteries for nighttime when the sun isn't shining.
